    Is there service pack available for weblogic 5.1 to work with JDK 1.4 for NT Environment

    Hi.
    This is definitely not supported, and I don't know that any work is scheduled in the future
    to support this JDK on WLS 5.1.
    Having said that, I was able to start WLS 5.1sp12 with JDK 1.4 with no errors. I didn't
    exercise any features, however.

    create domain, you may have to extend your domain to include adf libraries.
    start admin server
    goto, console create datasource
    also you can enable tunneling
    open your project in jdev
    create an app. server for tunneling
    deploy it.
    that's what I did.

    Hello,
    I had the same problem and I eradicated it by changing used % of /tmp dir from 97% to 81% by removing unwanted files in /tmp folder.
    Try it out......
    df -k
    Now u will see that ur swap space is not sufficient.Check the corresponding mounting directory.Remove unwanted files from this dir. Restart ur server.Your problem should be solved.Note: Restarting server is not needed but for safe side restart ur server.
    In mine case, my dir was /tmp.I removed all unwanted files and then the problem was solved.
    Thanks

  • Weblogic 7.0 on Solaris 8

    Hi all,
    have a question regarding weblogic 7.0 on Solaris 8. I have installed weblogic 7.0
    on Solaris 8. I have root access on that machine. The way I did it was download the
    bin file (evaluation license) from bea.com , changed permissions (although since
    I am root I already had permissions ), ran the bin file which prompted to create
    the bin and weblogic directory. I created the directory as /export/home/bea and the
    weblogic server
    was installed as /export/home/bea/weblogic700 .
    I created an instance of a server using the domain manager wizard(/common/bin under
    ) I went to the directory structure created by the domainwizard and started the weblogic
    server. once I start the shell script that actually starts the server, the script
    starts and prompts me for the username and password for starting the server. I enter
    that and the server starts, now I can access http://localhost:portnum(80 in my case)
    I can see the
    default index.html and when I type in http://localhost:80/console, it takes me to
    the
    console screen and it has already filled the username for me.
    Now comes my problem, when I enter the username and password I CANNOT log in. I am
    sure that the username and password are correct.I wish to know why cant I log in.
    I checked the server logs and the logs under myserver directory but theres absolutely
    nothing in there, so pray what do I do?
    Would it have something to do with the security realm ?
    Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated!!

  • Bug in WebLogic 8.1 SP4 for IBM JDK 1.4.2?

    Hello,
    <p>
    In a previous thread i posted (http://forums.bea.com/bea/thread.jspa?threadID=600006934&tstart=0), I reported that we had problems in trying to use JAAS in connecting Acegi with WebLogic 8.1 SP4 on IBM JDK 1.4.2
    <p>
    We did some more research and found the following:
    <br>
    WebLogic uses the class <i>weblogic.security.service.ServerConfiguration</i> for reading the JAAS config file. This class extends the default <i>javax.security.auth.login.Configuration</i> class. To see what's going on we decompiled the class and it looks like this:
    <p>
    <i>
    try {
         // code omitted.
    } catch (Exception exception) {
         String s1 = System.getProperty("login.configuration.provider");
         if(s1 == null)
         s1 = "com.sun.security.auth.login.ConfigFile";
         if(!s1.equals("weblogic.security.service.ServerConfiguration"))
         try
              Configuration configuration = (Configuration)Class.forName(s1).newInstance();
              configuration.refresh();
              aappconfigurationentry = configuration.getAppConfigurationEntry(s);
         catch(Exception exception1) { }
    </i>
    <p>
    The following happens when trying to authenticate through JAAS:
    <p>
    - The "omitted code" throws the Exception <i>weblogic.security.service.InvalidParameterException: [Security:090396]Security Realm sample does not exist</i>.
    <p>
    Why is this Exception thrown? Why does the name of my JAAS configuration in the JAAS config file needs to be the same as a Security Realm? Or this try-catch block used as some kind of control flow and is this exception expected?
    <p>
    - Then in the catch block the <b>System</b>.property <i>login.configuration.provider</i> is retrieved. However the JDK Specification of the class <i>javax.security.auth.login.Configuration</i> (sse the javadoc) states that:<p>
    <i>The default Configuration implementation can be changed by setting the value of the "login.configuration.provider" security property (in the Java security properties file) to the fully qualified name of the desired Configuration implementation class</i>
    <p>
    So because the <b>System</b> property is read instead of the <b>Security</b> property (which contains the correct IBM class), <i>null</i> is returned. Is this a bug?
    <p>
    - Because the System property is <i>null</i> the code then tries to load the class <i>com.sun.security.auth.login.ConfigFile</i>, which of course is not present in the IBM JDK, and a ClassNotFoundException is thrown. Since
    the Exception is swallowed by the nested catch block we will not see this exception and <i>null</i> is returned that eventually leads to the "No LoginModule found..." exception.
    <p>
    So to summarize, my questions are these:
    <p>
    - Does the name of the JAAS configuration in the JAAS config file need to be the same as the name of the Realm? And if so why?<br>
    - Is it a bug that instead of reading the <b>Security</b> this code is reading the <b>System</b> property?
    <p><p>
    Regards,<br>
    Lars Vonk
    <p>
    PS<br>
    As a workaround we set the System property <i>login.configuration.provider</i> to the correct value <i>com.ibm.security.auth.login.ConfigFile</i> and then it works.

    Sorry, i saw the forum about your problem in BEA 8.1 SP 6 about a
    weblogic.security.SSL.SSLCertificate.verify(SSLCertificate.java:235)
    error and you said that bea sent a path named CR295205_810sp6.jar.
    I have the same problem
    Do you have this patch?
    Could you send it to me?

  • Weblogic development environment  on Solaris

    I have sucessfuly installed Weblogic 5.1 on Solaris and want to proceed
    to create a development environment, so I copied the myserver directory
    to /path/to/weblogic/dev and copied weblogic.properties to the same, I
    then copied startWebLogic.sh to startDev.sh and altered both to point to
    my new server and runned the startDev script. The server started, but
    using the weblogic.properties in my weblogic directory. I was told by my
    instructor that WLS would look inside the directory of the specified
    server for another instance of weblogic properties, but it does not seem
    to find it. Am I missing something?

    The properties file is hierarchical. So, if you have a properties file located in the servername directory and one in the root WebLogic installation, the properties file located in the servername directory will overwrite any properties that were previously defined in the root WebLogic installation properties file.

  • WebLogic R10.x can not using JDK 1.5 ?

    when I using Configuration Wizard to config the JDK , I using JDK5.0_X for the Other JDK in WebLogic v10.x , but when I startWebLogic.cmd to running the weblogic , is show some error , and then stop to running , and back to dos command prompt , who can told me does the WebLogic 10.x can not using JDK 1.5 ?
    and the weblogic 9.x is not compatible with weblogic 10.x ? TKS!

    Hi if you are using WLS 10.0 or WLS 10.1 then JDK1.5 is compatible however WLS 10.3 is not compatible with JDK 1.6 It means that Oracle/Bea does not support WLS 10.3 with JDK 1.6
    Check the below link for supported configuration
    http://e-docs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs100/100_over/overview.html
    Also put the stack trace of the error for analysis

  • Weblogic 5.1 SP10 with JDK 1.3 as NT Service

    I'm trying to set up Weblogic to run as an NT service. I set the configuration using wlconfig.exe then ran install.exe and it installs and starts with no error but I know that the weblogic server has not started because there is nothing in the weblogic.log file. If I try to manually run wlserver.exe I get this error:
    Java Ver: 1.3 C:\Cybrant572\_AppServer\jdk1.3
    "DumpThreads" is not defined.
    Weblogic server can not be run in your jvm.
    loadIt: InitFunctions returned error (2)
    The Windows registry is misconfigured
    for the WebLogic Server
    Can't start WebLogic Server: (Can't start Java VM) err=0x2000001
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am also getting the same error. I had jdk1.2.2 earlier and when i installed
    jdk1.3, i used wlconfig to change the JAVA_HOME. that was the only change i did.
    It is giving error. wlconfig says JAVA_HOME is c:\jdk1.3

    i run wlserver.exe and then wrap that with srvany utility from msoft -
    therefore running weblogic as a service.
    to get wlserver to run with sp9 the registry needed changing
    hkeylocalmachine\software\weblogic\5.1.0
    needed changing to
    hkeylocalmachine\software\weblogic\5.1.0sp9
    so maybe you should try 5.1.0sp10
    try it - it's easy enough to change back.
