Weblogic 6.0 install on unix:: conversion of properties file.

I followed the instructions to convert my weblogic properties file from a WL5.1
install. Copied the *.war file from the default domain into the new domain and
tried to start the application server with the script for the domain. It asks
for a boot password which I am assuming should be the same one that I set during
the weblogic install. When I enter the password, it refuses to boot the application
server complaining about the password. Yet when I try to start the default server,
it boots up
fine with the same password. Now my question is, it the password
the same or not? If not then what is the boot password for the
new domain and where is it set?
Any help will be appreciated

Hi,
I copied the weblogic home directory from one unix machine to another. Does the new machine work as the old environment with out any other configuration changes?
Startup script has all path and class path settings required for the application.
Please guide me if any docs available on what extra configurations do by installer when compare to the copying of the folders.
In windows i tried this way which doesnt give any problem. I would like to make sure that copying of bea folders shouldnt cause any problems in future on unix environment.

It worked after copieng the weblogic home directory to the new server. I observe groups and user file for the difference between 2 machiens. I found wlsvr user or other is not found in new machine is just added that user with him home directory. Then weblogic started smootly. Thank you.

Service Pack 1 for Weblogic 6.0 install fails

Hi,
I have weblogic 6.0 installed in directory E:\programs\bea . This is
a winnt machine.
When I install the service pack 1, I get the following error -
"WebLogic Server Service Pack 1 Installation failed. You do not seem
to have WebLogic Server 6.0 installed for BEAHOME E:\programs\bea."

Weblogic.appc without installing weblogic

Hi
Using Weblogic 10, and trying to compile JSP's within an EAR file using weblogic.appc works correctly on a box where weblogic has been installed.
Running the same thing on a box which only has the required JARs for weblogic.appc on it - but does not have weblogic installed on it. Does not compile - you get NoClassDefFoundError errors.
Jars that are being included in the classpath are
${JAVA_HOME}/lib/tools.jar::${WL_HOME}/lib/weblogic.jar:${WL_HOME}/lib/ojdbc14.jar:${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/rt.jar:${WL_HOME}/lib/webservices.jar
Error received when running this on the box that does not have weblogic installed is:
Exception in thread "Main Thread" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/application/compiler/Appc : weblogic/utils/compiler/Tool
Is there a way to use weblogic.appc on a box that does not have weblogic installed on it?

Yes just tried that, changed the class path to use wlfullclient.jar instead of weblogic.jar
It does get a little further now in that it start to compile the ear - however there are still

Can weblogic workshop be installed without weblogic server

I was trying a custom installation to install weblogic workshop 8.1 without weblogic server. But, when I only choose weblogic workshop, it still picks the weblogic server to install.
I want to understand can we just have weblogic workshop installed on various machines, so that we can build on various machines and finally deploy them all to a single server??
Any help for me to understand this will be much appreciated.
Note: I've installed a evaluation version of the software, not sure if that makes any difference..

We are trying to build a .JWS file from within an ANT build script. The build script compiles the site into a single EAR file that should contain a deployable and usable JWS component, however it obviously does not.
If anyone has a solution, please let us know. We're facing a code freeze on this project by this Friday and really need some help.

Losing 0x0D in Content Conversion of a file receiver communication channel

Hi everyone, I have a file to file scenario in which I receive an XML like this:

Actually this is just to give you an idea, but inside the IDOC tag I have a whole IDoc with the flat file structure that is going to be processed by with program RSEINB00. The incoming file has characters 0x0D and 0x0A between both lines, which is correct and is the desired format for program RSEINB00.
But when I download this XML using content conversion, the resulting file has lost the 0x0D character, it still has the 0x0A, but all 0x0D are gone.
The content conversion is set like this
Recordset structure IDOCS
IDOCS.fieldSeparator     $$$$$$
IDOCS.endSeparator     '0'
(I don't know exactly why they did it that one...anyway only 1 IDOCS tag is expected). The I have to extract the exact bytes from inside the IDOC tag and download them to a file. Is it possible to handle it from the content conversion? Thanks!

   maybe the problem relates to the file encoding you have specified in the Communication Channels. Maybe the file is being picked up from a Windows system which uses Carriage Return (CR) in conjunction with the line feed character ( LF) to indicate
the end of an ASCII text file. The hex code 0D0A. Whereas the receiver system maybe a Unix systems which uses only LF (0A).
The module
   ConvertCRLFfromToLF
using parameter value
LFtoCRLF
may resolve this
e.g.,

@WEBLOGIC in properties file

Hi,
What am I supposed to replace this. My weblogic is installed
on drive E: on NT.
E:\weblogic
However, when I didn't replace, and tried to access the cloudscape
DB, I noticed that a directory @WEBLOGIC was created in
E:\weblogic !
Should I just replace @WEBLOGIC in the weblogic.properties file
with empty string?

When I first config the cluster. While Setting up the weblogic.properties
          Files, Open and read the cluster properties file (installed by default as
          weblogic/mycluster). Any properties set in the cluster properties file will
          override the same properties that were set from the global properties file.
          But I cannot find this file, Also I copy the weblogic.properties to
          weblogic.mycluster.properties,Also,I cannot find the
          weblogic.cluster.enable=true,etc.

NodeManager.properties file not able to generate while installing obiee 11g

Please help me out to solve the issue..i tried to start the StartNodeManager.cmd as well as all the services related to it.

Partial conversion of .mht file using PDFG.

Hi,
I am facing problem while converting .mht(single web page) files using PDF Generator. The conversion is partial. I am trying the programmatic conversion using SOAP endpoints.
Deployment information is as given below:
1)PDFG is installed on a JBOSS server running on top of a windows server as OS.
2)Application accessing PDFG using SOAP endpoints is running in a websphere container running on top of AIX as OS.
However if i try to execute same code from application deployed on websphere on a windows platform, the conversion is correct.
Please advice....

Conversion of Publisher file to PDF

I have a MS publisher file, 98mb in size which I cannot convert to PDF. Teh error message said I could try to install a windows printer. I did install the printer according to instructions and tried converting the file again wiht the same failure message. Do I need to do something to access the printer for the conversion or is this automatic?

Having installed the printer, you must use it. You can't just install the printer then do the same thing you did before.
Open the file in Publisher, print to the special printer driver. It takes what is "printed" and sends it off for conversion. I'm still not hopeful it will come in under the size limits though.

File Content Conversion in Sender File Adapter

I am implementing a scenario, where I need to do Content conversion in My file Adapter.My input file is as follows

My issue is, How do I set my parameter in Sender Comm channel for content conversion especially at record structure.
I have provided the value as Header,1,Content,*
But its not working.
If I do provide like
BGN_REC,,REF_REC,,DTP_REC,,N1_REC,,INS_REC,,NM1_REC,,PER_REC,,N3_REC,,N4_REC,,DMG_REC,,HD_REC,* then ,I am not getting above XML format. Please suggest or How can I modify my Data type which competes to configure in Channel
