Weblogic 6.1 deployment out of memory error - please help

I am getting an out of memory error when deploying an ear to a weblogic 6.1 server. I tried increasing heap size with the startup param. I also tried upgrading the jdk to 1.3.1_02. Here is how I am starting weblogic -
"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -hotspot -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -ms64m -mx64m -classpath "%CLASSPATH%" -Dweblogic.Domain=mydomain -Dweblogic.management.discover=false -Dweblogic.Name=myserver "-Dbea.home=C:\bea" -Dweblogic.management.password=%WLS_PW% -Dweblogic.ProductionModeEnabled=%STARTMODE% "-Djava.security.policy==C:\bea\wlserver6.1/lib/weblogic.policy" weblogic.Server
I tried 64, 128, and 256 for the MaxPermSize param and the larger I make this number, the longer the deploy takes. I also tried lowering the session timeout to 1 min from 30. Now, when I deploy to the weblogic connection, jdev writes the war, then hangs. The rest of my desktop is slow but responsive, but I let jdev go for up to 1hr when running this deploy, and it never even starts the weblogic.deploy call. I end up killing it. This ear is not very big and is a simple servlet.
Any thoughts?

  • Out Of Memory Errors - Please Help

I'm running Rational XDE Tester -> which is a java-based QA program that tests other java programs.
I'm having numerous performance problems -> possibly a result of the XDE program manipulating a 11 MB XML file continuously.
We've tried to include the tag: -Xmx256M and -Xmx 256M
    but to no avail
Does anybody have any suggestions for solving our performance problems?

Try the Garbage collection on the code and also increase the JVM in accordance with the system available memory.

  • Error: out of memory.. please help

it's been a while since I posted, But I am in dire need of some help.
I run the latest FCP on a powermac g5 quad. 2.5 Ghz, 4 CPU , 1MB L2 cache per CPU, 1.25 bus speed, 2GB ram.
I shot and edited an HDV corporate video. Its been done for a while, after a number hours of trial testing, I got my project compressed and put it on a DVD and produced 500 copies. MY client is happy.
    the question
I am a new editor and gaining experience everyday. Its time that I clear my Hard drive of this massive project. the video ended up being 40 minutes, with lots of cuts, and lots of livetype graphics for lower thirds and graphic boards.
I am trying to "print to video" my timeline back to my camera so I can save it. as I don't need all this footage on my hard drive.
    SO...
    1) how do most of you guys backup your stuff? I want to send my HDV sequence back to my Z1U, and probably make some quicktime movies to keep on my computer. if i do that can i edit from that in the futrue? for things like making a demo reel or incase i need to burn more DVDs. I don;t want to erase anything until i know im safe.
    2) when i select print to video... it takes quite a long conforming process which i understand happens. but when it is done after like 2 hours.. i get the error message : out of memory.
my computer is fairly new and i don't know why it is doing this.
i was thinking does the sequence im doing have to be less then the 2 g of ram to have to work? i really don't understand. i just want to send my sequence back to my camera.
again.. i know there is a lot of questions.. but ive spent the last 2 days reading books and doing searches and can't find any answers.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    -kcow

thanks mike... i checked and i dont have any cmyk... only .ipr
jsut from what i've read you should back up back to your camera as well. Just to have that on tape incase my hard drives crash
I could have done a better job capturing, but where im doing so from my z1u. I didnt want to wear out my heads. So i deselected create new clip on timecode breaks. So what I did was capture the entire tape.. then I went back and made subclips. Would i still be able to use media mangaer then? or am i screwed because the subclips i dont need are still connected to the master clips which i need for the subclips that i edited from? hahah thats a tounge twister. yah i think it was like 7-8 gigs worth of a project.

  • Out of Memory Error While deploying as EAR file

    Hai,
I was trying to deploy an EAR file of size 63 MB which inturn containing about 60 EJB.jars. No WARs. application.xml has all the entries for the JARs. While I am deploying it is giving Out of Memory Error. Is there any way to tweak this problem. I am using my own hand written java application which uses the SunONE deployment APIs for deployment. Can u please tell how to tackle this problem. I am running my application through a batch file which uses jdk1.4.
Please help me regarding this issue.

You can set the initial heap size and maximum heap size for the JVM, either in the app-server admin console, or maybe in one of your scripts. You look-up the syntax!...
I had this error yesterday. I too had run out of memory (150Mb). You simply need to allocate more to the app-server.

  • Weblogic generating out of memory error when commandline run doesn't

    Hello,
I am just beginning to use weblogic. I have a jar file which runs fine if run from command line with the options
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java" -jar -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m Report.jarIt connects to oracle and selects some data around (500k records) and writes it to a csv.
When I run the same jar from within a web application (I mean obvoiusly a servlet calling the jar's main method) the webapp generates
out of memory error after 80k records itself.
I tried changing the configuration the server Startup arguments from the console (Server Start and then Arguments) and then restart.
I just wrote the same thing there -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m
I guess I am missing something. Please share your answers.
    Environment :
Win2k8, weblogic 10gR3, jdk 1.5. The application is installed as a service.
    Thanks,
    Neetesh

If you are not using NodeManager, then I don't think those server settings actually control anything. If you are just exploring WLS, then I suspect you are simply starting an AdminServer in a basic domain and don't have a cluster/nodemanager based environment. I could be wrong, please correct as needed!
If you are simply starting your WebLogic Server instance using the startWebLogic.sh|cnd script, you can set an environment variable on the command shell that will be picked up and used when the server starts.
    set USER_MEM_ARGS=-Xmx1024 -Xms1024m
    * apply appropriate *nix changes as appropriate.
Then use the startWebLogic.sh|cmd script to start the server and test your application.
It may very well be the case that your particular application consumes > 1GB heap so you may need more. Remember that you now have a server environment running over your "main" class, so there is bound to be more memory used that could be just sneaking your heap use over 1GB. For example.

  • Out of memory Error in ADF appication

    Hi All,
    I am using JDev 11.1.2.1.0.
In my application we are performing the following activities.
         1. File Upload
         2. File download
         3. inputListOfValues(Magnifier LOV where we will be loading thousand of row in search results table).
And our application should support 50 concurrent sessions at any point of time.
Right now Our JDev is configured with a Heap Space of 512MB.
We are getting out of memory error in the Jdeveloper console if we test the application with <20 concurrent sessions and it is not if test with less concurrent sessions(Note our Application Module settings configured to support 50 Concurrent sessions).
Is there any way that we can avoid Out of memory error. Please suggest any tools through which we can track the objects causing the Memory leak.
    please suggest.
    thanks in Advance.
    Veer

inputListOfValues(Magnifier LOV where we will be loading thousand of row in search results table).
If you load and scroll over thousands of VO rows, then the VO will load all these rows in memory if the VO has not been configured to do Range Paging, which may cause out of memory. By default, VOs are not configured to do Range Paging. Please, try with VO Range Paging in order to minimize VO's memory footprint. (When a VO is configured to do Range Paging, it will keep in memory only a couple of ranges of rows. The default range size is 25, so it will keep in memory a few tens of rows). UI does not need to be changed and the user will scroll over the rows in an <af:table> in the normal way as he/she used to.
Right now Our JDev is configured with a Heap Space of 512MB.
JDev's heap size does not matter. The heap that you should check (and maybe increase) is the Java heap of the Integrated Weblogic Server, where the application is deployed and run. The heap size of the Integrated WLS is configured in the file <JDev_Home>/jdeveloper/system.xx.xx.xx.xx/DefaultDomain/bin/setDomainEnv.cmd (or .sh).
Please suggest any tools through which we can track the objects causing the Memory leak.
You can try Java Mission Control + Flight Recorder (former Oracle JRockit Mission Control), which is an awesome tool.

  • Out Of Memory Error : unable to create new native thread

    Hi Experts,
The details are given below -
    1. Sun Java System Application Server 7
    2. Java 1.4.2_05
    3. Solaris 9 (OS)
    4. RAM 8 GB
There are 3-4 applications deployed on this Sun Server 7. Some times we got "Out Of Memory" Error while displaying any jsp. Then we restart the Sun Server, the problem is resolved for some time.
This all is happening on production environment. We can not start the Sun Server again & again on production.
We have also set the java parameters as -Xms 3584M & -Xmx 3584M i.e 3.5 GB around.
If we change this parameter means less or more from 3584M, then our site becomes down.
Please help us out as soon as possible.

How do you expect anyone to give you a sensible answer to this? What server are you using to execute the JSP's? Tomcat? Is the code in the JSP causing the out of mem or is it a server related issue (unlikely...)?

  • ORA-27102 Out of Memory Error

Hi, I am installing Oracle 11g 64 bit in my server which is having windows server 2008 R2, and 64GB RAM. The software is installed successfully but while database creation it hangs at 2% progress copying database files. At this moment the full 64 GB memory gets consumed by Oracle installer and out of memory error flashed.
Also i got some memory error report on oracle website as follows, but I am unable to find how to solve this problem
*5.2.4 ORA-27102 Out of Memory Error*
When creating a database on a computer with large physical memory, Oracle Universal Installer or Database Configuration may display an out of memory error.
    Workaround:
Select the Advanced Installation type during installation, or run Database Configuration Assistant after a software only installation and reduce the memory allocated for Oracle based on the shared memory settings for your operating system.
This issue is tracked with Oracle bug 9811726.
    Please help me.

  • Out of Memory error while builng HTML String from a Large HashMap.

    Hi,
I am building an HTML string from a large map oject that consits of about 32000 objects using the Transformer class in java. As this HTML string needs to be displayed in the JSP page, the reponse time was too high and also some times it is throwing out of memory error.
Please let me know how i can implement the concept of building the library tree(folder structure) HTML string for the first set of say 1000 entries and then display in the web page and then detect an onScroll event and handle it in java Script functions and come back and build the tree for the next set of entries in the map and append this string to the previous one and accordingly display it.
    please let me know whether
    1. the suggested solution was the advisable one.
    2. how to build tree(HTML String) for a set of entries in the map while iterating over the map.
    3. How to detect a onScroll event and handle it.
Note : Handling the events in the JavaScript functions and displaying the tree is now being done using AJAX.
    Thanks for help in Advance,
    Kartheek

  • Oracle Service Bus For loop getting out of memory error

I have a business service that is based on a JCA adapter to fetch an undertimed amout of records from a database.  I then need to upload those to another system using a webservice designed by an external source.  This web service will only accept upto to x amount of records.
    The process:
for each object in the Jca Response
Insert object into Service callout Request body
if object index = number of objects in jca response or object index = next batch index
               Invoke service callout
Append service callout Response to a total response object (xquery transform)
increase next batch index by Batch size
reset service callout to empty body
           endif
    end for
replace body  with total response object.
If I use the data set that only has 5 records  and use a batch size of 2 the process works fine.
If I use  a data set with 89 records  and a batch size of 2 I get the below out of memory error  after about 10 service callouts

It appears to be the service callout that is the problem (it calls another OSB service that logins and performs the data upload to the External service)  because If I change the batch size up to 100  the loop will load all the 89 records into the callout request and execute it fine.  If I have a small batch size then I run out of memory.
Is there some settings I need to change?  Is there a better way in OSB (less memory intensive than service callout in a for loop)?
    Thanks.

    hi,
Could you please let me know if you get rid off this issue as we are also facing the same issue.
    Thanks,

  • Frm-40024 out of memory error

I am trying to upgrade forms 10g to 11g.
after installing the weblogic 10.30.2 , fusion middleware 11.1.1.2.0, I compiled the old forms to a new version.
there was no compile error and .fmx file generated very successfully.
I runned the file in my local computer. there was no problem.
    So,
I uploaded .fmx into the WAS Server, and when I opened the form screen in the menu, I got an error!!!!
    "frm-40024 out of memory error"
    what is the problem?

    Hi user13763783
The error is direct and straight forward ...

I can't tell from the crash dump what the exact problem is - maybe you are running out of native memory?
You are running a very old JRockit version. Since you are a Oracle/BEA customer, you can get a newer one from BEA Support, or through edelivery.oracle.com.

  • Thread Count and Out Of Memory Error

    Hi,
I was wondering if setting the ThreadPoolSize to a value which is too low can
cause an out of memory error. My thought is that when it is time for Weblogic
to begin garbage collection, if it does not get a thread fast enough it is possible
that memory would be used up before the garbage collection takes place.
I am asking this because I am trying to track down the cause of an out-of-memory
occurrence, while at the same time I believe I need to raise the ThreadPoolSize.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Oops ...
I was wondering if setting the ThreadPoolSize to a value which is too
low can cause an out of memory error. No, but the opposite can be true.
My thought is that when it is time for Weblogic
to begin garbage collection, if it does not get a thread fast enough it is
possible that memory would be used up before the garbage collection
takes place.Weblogic doesn't do GC ... that's the JVM and if it needs a thread it will
not be using one of Weblogic's execute threads.
    > I am asking this because I am trying to track down the cause of an
out-of-memory occurrenceIt could be configuration (new vs. old heap for example), but it is probably
just data that you are holding on to or native stuff (e.g. type 2 JDBC
driver objects) that you aren't cleaning up correctly.
