Weblogic 6.1 exception
Hi,
I am getting a recurrent exception, any idea what could cause it?
Thanks for you help

Hi Valerie,
Do you have both domain and server named as 'memberapp' ? If yes, name them
differently. (but on the other hand 6.1sp2 won't even start if you give your
domain and server the same name).

Weblogic.refresh meet exception(Jsp refresh)
Hi all,
I intend to make my new JSP files in effect immediately,so I used "weblogic.refresh"
utility to implement it. The command line is showed below. I think the call to
weblogic.refresh successful. But from the weblogic system output, I see java.io.IOException.
Every time I do "weblogic.refresh", the exception message is generated. I believe
that the exception cause my new JSP files not be refreshed in Weblogic managed
server. Any one here give me idea?
Thanks.

Winston, I just tried to run weblogic.refresh with sp3 and got a similar
problem. Can you please open a case with BEA support at
http://support.bea.com/welcome.jsp. We'll take a closer look into this.

Weblogic.deploy throws exception.
In WLS 6.1 SP01, I am trying to add new Application to Weblogic, by using folloowing command.
java -cp c:\bea\wlserver6.1\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.deploy -debug -url mymachine:7001 deploy -username system mypasswd appname "file:////c:\dir1\myApp.ear" -component "EJBComp1:WLServer1"
It thorws follwoing exception:
[deploy] : adding target : WLServer1 for: EJBComp1
weblogic.j2ee.DeploymentException
at weblogic.deploy.deploy(deploy.java:668)
at weblogic.deploy.runBody(deploy.java:358)
at weblogic.utils.compiler.Tool.run(Tool.java:79)
at weblogic.deploy.main(deploy.java:1601)
weblogic.j2ee.DeploymentException

at weblogic.deploy.runBody(deploy.java:358)
at weblogic.utils.compiler.Tool.run(Tool.java:79)
at weblogic.deploy.main(deploy.java:1601)
I can see in config.xml that Application "appname" has been added successfully. But Target servers are not configured for EJB components.
IS there any way to get more information about the error?
Thanks in advance for your help.
SuyogHi Maris,
I see that you have create-default-dbms-tables set to true so WLS should be creating
the database table for your EJB. If you can give me some more information, I'll be
able to help you further. What version of WLS + service pack are you using? Also,
is this a 1.1 bean or 2.0? Lastly, what are the types of the CMP fields in your
bean?
As a work-around, you can try creating the database table yourself before deploying
the bean. This should resolve the deployment problem.

Failed EAR deployment in WebLogic Server - Unexpected exception caught
Hello
I have a problem when deployment EAR file in WebLogic server, my application use KODO for persistence.
This error only occurs when deployment from EAR file, when deployment from simple webapp directory the error not occurs.
In properties variable load attributes of database connection from jdo.properties file
PersistenceManagerFactory pmf = JDOHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory(properties);

Thanks for help.I managed to resolve the issue myself. Here are the details, in case anyone is interested:
I modified the weblogic-application.xml (present under my application EAR>META-INF folder) to include org.hibernate.* and javax.persistence.* packages. Restarted the servers and redeployed the EAR (exploded). I don't see the errors anymore and the deployment was successful.

we have it here too. Did you ever find out what's causing it?
BTW, we're using WLS 8.1 SP2.
BR, Oskari -
We have an interesting situation where have to support our application on
both Weblogic 6.1 SP2 using an Oracle Type 2 driver and iPlanet using an
Oracle Type 4 driver. In our application we are using blob's, and in order
for our blob's to work with the Type 4 driver we must do a two stage process
where we insert an Oracle EMPTY_BLOB and then select the newly inserted
blob, cast it to oracle.sql.BLOB and upload it using streams.
Unfortunately, when this code runs on WLS the datasource/connection pool
substitutes some wrapper classes (or something) behind the scenes and we get
class cast exceptions as the blob is of type
weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialOracleBlob.
Is there any way to configure WLS connection pools/datasources so that it
doesn't use any weblogic classes and only uses oracle classes? We currently
have our 3rd Party Oracle drivers as the first entry in our classpath. We
can't switch to Oracle Type 2 on iPlanet (too buggy), or this would all be
moot and we'd simply use the more generic non-vendor specific way of
uploading blob's. And we can't cast to weblogic classes, because then that
would break on iPlanet.
Here's the code snippet that we can't change, because we have to support
Oracle Type 4 on iPlanet.
ResultSet blobs = ustmt.executeQuery();
blobs.next();
Blob blob = blobs.getBlob(1);
OutputStream blobOut = ((oracle.sql.BLOB)
blob).getBinaryOutputStream();
try {
blobOut.write(attachment.getFile());
} catch (IOException e) {
throw new ServletException(e);
} finally {
try {
blobOut.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
throw new ServletException(e);
blobs.close();
Thanks,
GaryHi Gary!
Blob oracle extensions are implemented internally in weblogic as
weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialOracleBlob. As we wrap objects internally for
serialization purpose, we can not use oracle objects directly. So, you have to
use SerialBlob in weblogic.

Weblogic MBeanMaker throws exception during MBean Jar generation in WLS 9.2
Hi,
I followed the steps provided in weblogic guide(http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/dvspisec/atn.html), to develop a custom authenticator provider.But, when i use weblogic MBean maker to create MBean jar file(by executing the command java -DMJF=jarfile -Dfiles=filesdir weblogic.management.commo.WebLogicMBeanMaker), i seem to get the following exception.
I get exactly the same exception when i ant SampleSecurityProviders91 code found in bea code share.Any help will be very much appreciated.

thanks,
JoshThe console does not list RealmAdapterAuthenticator I'm no WLS security expert but this suggests to me that the appropriate mbean implementation is missing from your servers mbeantypes. If you have the mbeans for a RealmAdapterAuthenticar you need to stick them under:
/wlserver9.2/weblogic92/server/lib/mbeantypes/
and restart the admin console.

Weblogic console gets exception
I am running WL server 6.0 sp2. Whne trying to bring up the console, I
get the following exception at java console. The result is that I
don't see the frame on the left side which shows the tree structure.
This used to work fine.
Does anyone know what's causing this? Thanks.

While you're phrasing the question, you can give us important information, like what version of Weblogic you're using.
Concerning your error, I'm going to guess that "userName" and "password" are null or empty strings. I've never heard of the "Domain_info" package, but I wouldn't be surprised to find something else in WLST that's undocumented. Perhaps that's a package you wrote yourself. Beats me. -

Any ideas?I found the fix for this:

restart Eclipse
open a new server view and add a server.
This will start a wizard that eventually ask for a weblogic domain, when i added the domain the server started -
Weblogic Newbie: Receiving Exception:NameNotFoundException
Hello,
I am trying to send messages from a plain java client to a JMS Queue and am getting NameNotFoundException on
the lookup statement for the QueueConnectionFactory.
I am using the Workshop IDE.
Any assistance would be greatly apprecieated. Thank you!!
My code fragment is as follows:
//Function get initialContext defined below
Context ic = getInitialContext("t3://localhost:7001", "weblogic", "weblogic");
factory = (QueueConnectionFactory) ic.lookup("java:comp/env/jms/QueueConnectionFactory");
static Context getInitialContext(String url, String user, String password) {
InitialContext p =null;
Hashtable h = new Hashtable();
h.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
h.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, url);
//h.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, user);
// h.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
try
return (new InitialContext(h));
catch(Throwable ex)
ex.toString();
return p;
}I did not solve the problem yet, but have some more information:
IF I change the Connection Factory to
weblogic.jms.ConnectionFactory or
weblogic.jws.jms.QueueConnectionFactory, I can get a value for factory in the lookup. These are defaults, which is fine for me.
Remaining Issues:
1. Yet I don't know which Connection Factory to use for a queue.
2. My queue in the Admin console is under CgJMSServer/Destinations, with name: of Synch Queue
JNDI NAme:SynchQueue
I must have the wrong config or a code bug, because
queue = (Queue) ic.lookup("weblogic.jms.SynchQueue");
Still fails.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Weblogic throwing "null SOAP element Exception" in multi-part SOAP response
Hi All,
I'm using weblogic 10. My application is a webservice client generated using '*clientgen*', which is running on weblogic, and
is invoking a remotely hosted webservice ( Remotely hoseted webservice may not be running on weblogic).
I've the wsdl file of remotely hosted webservice.
Now the problem is with WSDL file (I suppose), have a look at this.
*<message name="m1">*
*<part name="body" element="tns:GetCompanyInfo"/>*
*</message>*
*<message name="m2">*
*<part name="body" element="tns:GetCompanyInfoResult"/>*
*<part name="docs" type="xsd:AnyComplexType"/> ------> assume all elements inside this complex type can be nil or minOccurs set to '0'*
*<part name="logo" type="xsd:AnyOtherComplexType"/> ------> assume all elements inside this complex type can be nil or minOccurs set to '0'*
*</message>*
<portType name="pt1">
<operation name="GetCompanyInfo">
<input message="m1"/>
*<output message="m2"/> -----> multi part message.*
</operation>
</portType>
Now here is sample message for the request(I've composed this message for this question):
<soap:Envelope> MESSAGE1
<soap:header/>
<soap:body>
<tns:m2>
<tns:GetCompanyInfoResult>
Blah Blah....
</tns:GetCompanyInfoResult>
<tns:docs>
Blah Blah....
</tns:docs> Assume no data for 'logo', so it's not returned. Since all its elements can be nillable.
<tns:m2>
</soap:body>
</soap:Envelope>
First of all, is this SOAP response is valid? I'm not sure about *'message' and 'parts' in SOAP*, but according to XML schema standards it's invalid.
Because, according to *'message' m2, 'logo' is missing*, eventhough all it's elements are nillable in such case there should be *<logo/>* at the end.
I mean valid message should be like below
<soap:Envelope> '*MESSAGE2*'
<soap:header/>
<soap:body>
<tns:m2>
<tns:GetCompanyInfoResult>
Blah Blah....
</tns:GetCompanyInfoResult>
<tns:docs>
Blah Blah....
</tns:docs>
*<tns:logo/> ------------------> here is the change compared to above message. empty element.*
<tns:m2>
</soap:body>
</soap:Envelope>
Now the concerns are :
(1) Which is a valid response? Message1 or Message2
(2) If message1 is valid then why is weblogic throwing an exception 'null SOAP element', I suppose this is due to missing 'logo' element.
(To confirm this I've used tcpmonitor and found message1 as response but weblogic is still throwing 'null SOAP Element' exception,
which confirms it needs 'logo' as well, I suppose <logo/> at least). Is there any workaround for this in weblogic for multi-part messages?
(3) If message1 is invalid according to SOAP standards then You've answered my question. ---> I need to talk to the webservice provider in this case.....
Thanks in advance...Message 1 is not Basic Profile 1.1 compliant. It is specified by BP1.1 in section 4.4.1(http://www.ws-i.org/Profiles/BasicProfile-1.1-2004-08-24.html#Bindings_and_Parts) that when a wsdl:part element is defined using the type attribute, the serialization of that part in a message is equivalent to an implicit (XML Schema) qualification of a minOccurs attribute with the value "1", a maxOccurs attribute with the value "1" and a nillable attribute with the value "false".
