Weblogic 7.0 Installation
Hi,
I downloaded weblogic server 7.0 SP4 from the weblogic website and when I attempted to install, the installer throws an error message saying
"The installation archive information could not be obtained from BEA systems. Please check your download settings."
The installation does not proceed after this so I am not able to install the server. Can anyone help me with this issue as I have a deadline within a couple of days.
Thanks in advance.

WebLogic 5.1 installation failed on Dell P4 machine
I had downloaded the evaluation copy of weblogic 5.1. The same copy got
successfully installed on other machines on windows 2000, however on Dell P4
machines with windows 2000 platform it gave the following error message....
''The memory could not be read' but still continued installation and
weblogic server cannot be started.
Any ideas any body....?Vetra:
There is a Sun bug (4389589) that says you need the new JDK 1.2.2_007 to run on
the P4 (it's one of the specific fixes in list for the JDK). I don't have a P4,
but if you try to use this newer JDK and it works, can you let me know?

No Workshop in Solaris Weblogic 7.0 installer ..
Dear all !
I just wanted to inform
you, that the installer ..
bot the net.. and the package
installer don't
work as expected ..
I had the complete Platform 7
file downloaded .. make a custom
install .. click WL Server .. like
mentioned here ..
"...choose Custom Installation and select

I did so .. but their is no
workshop directory under weblogic700 ,
like it is the case on our linux box ..
Really strange .. what should I do
to get the workshop too installed ?
Thanks !
FrankI am having the same problems as Frank described. We're trying to install Platform
7.0 on Solaris 8, but the "workshop" directory is not being created. Has anyone
been successful in installing it into this environment?

I tried to install the evaluation copy of WebLogic App Server in a Sun Solaris

The installer stopped and showed an error similar to:

I will very glad to know what was the problem and of course, how to solve it.
Thank you very much

This is a known problem. It will be fixed in sp1.
For now, you need to add "DebugConfigInfo OFF" to httpd.conf.

Weblogic 6.0sp2 - installation issue
Problem Description:
Platform: Solaris 2.8
Version: Weblogic 6.0sp2
I have a permanent license file, with the expiration date = "never" for
all the components.
When I was installing WebLogic6.0sp1, put my license.bea file in the
weblogic installation directory, and it was succesfully picked up by the
installation program ( I have libproxy128.so and other ssl-domestic
plugins were installed in ~/lib/solaris directory, because of
SSL/Domestic component of the our license).
I did exactly the same thing and attempt to install weblogic6.0sp2.
1 . license.bea file was prepended by the temporary license components.
2. license_new.bea file with the temporary license components appeared.
2. ssl128 plugins were not installed.
How can I install SSL/Domestic related components?
Any help will be greatly appereciated.
Svetlana ([email protected])please open a case with support on this.
thanks,

Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 Installation Query
I have Windows 7 (64-bit OS) & i'd like to install Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 (i know it's not the newest).
Would you please provide me with a link for downloading the suitable Weblogic Server package & net installer?Hi
Yes, you should download Weblogic Server 10.3.3 Generic Installer which is like a .JAR file (sometimes .zip but rename as .jar file). In the below link, for weblogic server 10.3.3 row, on right side, click on + icon (See All Files). There in the last column you will see 64 bit installer (wls1033_generic.jar).
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
Just refer online docs for 64 bit installation. Make sure that first you download 64 bit jdk (Sun or JRockit). Set this in PATH. When you run java -version, it should refer this 64 bit jdk. Then run command like java -d64 -jar wls1033_generic.jar (if -d64 do not work, try -D64). Basically generic installer for 64 bit will not have any JDK built in. You have to download it first and then use it for installing weblogic.

Weblogic 10.3 Installation and adf configuration
I've tried to explain my experiment of weblogic & adf installation at following blog link,
http://adf.webloji.net/?m=200812
hope to be helpfulI have checked at backend,i.e. weblogic's log then i found someting like this :
"Certificate chain received from localhost - 127.0.0.1 was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure"
In nodemanager's log contains :
"BAD_CERTIFICATE alert was received from localhost - 127.0.0.1. Check the peer to determine why it rejected the certificate chain (trusted CA configuration, hostname verification). SSL debug tracing may be required to determine the exact reason the certificate was rejected."
If I use JDK1.6u5, then everything works fine. Bu I want to use JDK1.6u21.

Thanks.Unfortunately, this is not something someone can just point you to. What is recommended is for you to download the WebLogic-specific LiveCycle binaries, run the installer and choose the "turnkey" option.
