WebLogic 8.1 download

Good morning everyone,
I cannot find a download link (neither on the Oracle Site nor on the web) for the old WebLogic 8.1 Server (SP4 or 5).
We need the server for software verification purposes so we cannot use another version.
Is it possible to get the old binaries for Solaris systems?
Best wishes,
Thomas

Hi Thomas
Try this link:
ftp://ftp.peoplesoft.com/outgoing/ptools/weblogic/8.10/sp4/ (SP4 Version)
ftp://ftp.peoplesoft.com/outgoing/ptools/weblogic/8.10/ (SP5 and SP6)

    Hi,
I'm using Weblogic 6.0 sp3 to deploy a test application on my system with JavaWebStart 1.0.1(JWS1.0.1).
After I have clicked the link pointing to the jnlp file the JWS1.0.1 is getting started but its showing the following error
An error occurred while launching/running the application.
    Title: Sample
    Vendor: ABC Systems
    Category: Download Error
Bad MIME type returned from server when accessing resource: http://host:7001/example.jar - application/x-java-archive
I even tried the examples in jnlpexamples.zip provided by BEA(http://developer.bea.com/code/sampleswls.jsp)
    I'm getting the same error.
Can anybody tell how to overcome this problem
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi All,
I have cleared the error, I have given href attribute linking to jar file instead of jnlp..
    Thanks

Welcome to the persnickety parsing world of NSAPI.
    Couple of general hints:
Try hitting the path that is configured for the plugin and ensuring you
    can see config info?
    /serlvets/foo.blah?__WebLogicBridgeConfig
But the problem I think is that your object definition is not referring
    to the function.
    Init fn="load-modules" funcs="wl-proxy,wl-init"
    shlib="c:/weblogic/bin/proxy36.dll"
    Init fn="wl-init"
    <Object name="servlets" ppath="*/servlets/*">

  • Weblogic 8.1 SP 6 Download taken offline within the last week?

Did Oracle take the Weblogic 8.1 downloads offline this past week? I was able to download it last week via a BEA (domain) hosted site and I tried today & got forwarded to an Oracle (domain) hosted site that only had 9.2 & 10g. I assume that Oracle is trying to deprecate it or shore up licensing for it which I can kinda understand. But there are other Oracle products that use WLS8.1 as the recommended supported and latest configuration - such as OIM.
Again these downloads were available as recently as a week ago - http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache:gewLPJ3D2xIJ:commerce.bea.com/downloads/weblogic_server.jsp+download+weblogic+816+sp6&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us.
If anyone can guide me to where to download WLS 8.1 from Oracle that would be appreciated. Otherwise I'd like to hear some of the Oracle\Bea folks chime in regarding this.

I needed Weblogic 8.1 SP6 too and the commerce.bea.com site is gone already. I found out that, although the site is gone, the download files are still there. The link is [http://download2.bea.com/pub/platform/81/platform816_win32.exe]
    The linux version is [http://download2.bea.com/pub/platform/81/platform816_linux32.bin]
    and solaris [http://download2.bea.com/pub/platform/81/platform816_solaris32.bin]

The WebLogic Server installation you have referred to in this link is the "developer" distribution which is a simple zip file distribution that has no installer. Putting "FMW" on top of this is not supported. This is documented in the readme on the download site: http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls/README.txt
If you want to learn Oracle Forms, then you need to use a full installer of WebLogic Server.
Try this page here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/downloads/wls-main-097127.html and select the "Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.4) + Coherence - Package Installer" for your specific platform:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls/wls1034_win32.exe
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/middleware/11g/wls/wls1034_linux32.bin
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/solaris/middleware/11g/wls/wls1034_solaris32.bin
or the generic installer if you are not on one of those platforms:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls/wls1034_generic.jar
** I don't know if WLS 10.3.4 is the correct version to go with the Forms/Reports installer, please check those details for yourself. But the process will be the same if WLS 10.3.3 is required per the certification.

  • How to install Weblogic Portal 10.3.0

    Dear All,
I need to install Weblogic Portal 10.3.0 in two flavaors. 1) Single instance 2)In a cluster.
I'm relative new to Weblogic Portal. The platform is solaris 10 64 bit. Can anyone provide a step-by-step installation sequence?
I read the installation guide but it says nothing about how the installation would work. This is what I have done till now:
    1. Installed the WLP 10.3.0 with Weblogic Server, Weblogic Portal and Workshop components.
    2. After installation, ran config.sh command and configured Admin server and one managed server (to support portal).
But after my domain is created and I start my managed server, I see nothing in the deployments page. There are no errors either in the log files.
IS there a step I'm missing? Do we need to manually deploy portal application? if yes, how?
Any help would be truly appreciated.
    rgds,
    rb

    Hi RB!
Sounds like you just starting off fresh with WLP. This may or may not help. I suggest learning some of the basics of creating a Portal.Ear file and deploying it to other environments.

    Using WebLogic Portal
If you are new to WebLogic Portal, a short tutorial is provided to help you get started. See Tutorials – Getting Started with WebLogic Portal for more information. The tutorials discuss setting up a portal development environment, creating a portal, and assembling a desktop in your staging environment.
Tip:      If you are unfamiliar with the Eclipse development environment on which Workshop for WebLogic is based, the tutorial “Getting Started with Workshop for WebLogic” located in the Oracle Workshop for WebLogic User’s Guide, is highly recommended; the tutorial shows you how to start Workshop for WebLogic and navigate the workbench user interface, introduces terminology associated with the workbench, and shows you how to create a simple web application.
The WebLogic Portal Overview provides a starting point for understanding and developing applications with WebLogic Portal. This chapter introduces portal concepts, describes the WebLogic Portal infrastructure framework and business services, and describes the portal life cycle, from architecture through development, staging, and production. The remaining chapters in this guide describe each phase of the life cycle in detail and provide a starting point for using WebLogic Portal.

  • Weblogic Enterprise or Standard Edition

    Hello there,
Could anyone please advise if it's possible to find out whether you're running Weblogic 11g Standard or Enterprise edition?
There doesn't seem to be any details in the console apart from the version (10.3.1).
    Any help greatly appreciated !

    Hi,
There is only one WebLogic Server software download. Whether you need a WebLogic Server Enterprise Edition or a WebLogic Suite license depends on whether you use the premium components which are included in the WebLogic Server Enterprise Edition or WebLogic Suite licenses.
For WebLogic Server 11g, the packaging is as follows:
    WebLogic Server Standard Edition:
                 includes WebLogic Server
                             Kodo Enterprise
                             TopLink and ADF
                             JDeveloper
                             Enterprise Pack for Eclipse
    WebLogic Server Enterprise Edition:
                 includes WebLogic Server Standard Edition
                              + Clustering
                              +Enterprise Manager Diagnostics Pack
    WebLogic Suite:
                 includes WebLogic Server Enterprise Edition
                              + Coherence EE
                              + JRockit Real Time
                              + Management Pack for Coherence
                              + iAS EE (on WebLogic)
                              + WL Operations Control
    Thanks,
    Sharmela

  • Which Weblogic server installation do I need??

I need to download and install Oracle 11g Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.2.0) for Windows 7 Professional. On its main page, Oracle says that I have to download and install Weblogic Server before I can install Forms 11g. When I go to Weblogic Server download page, I see two versions: The package installer (815 MB), and the net installer (40 MB). Which one of them do I need for my purpose? Also, do I need something else (other than the database ofcourse and the Weblogic Server) to download and install before putting Forms 11g?
    Thanks

When I go to Weblogic Server download page, I see two versions: The package installer (815 MB), and the net installer (40 MB)?
Both Installer will do the same thing....You can choose any one of them
*"Package Installer":* It's Size will be always much more than the Net-Installer....If you want to Once download the Installer in your PC and then want to run it in separate Boxes again & Again where u may not have Internet connectivity ...then you need to choose "Package Installer". When you run the Package installer, you can also select the specific product components you want to install, thereby also enabling you to minimize the installation footprint.
Downloading the Package installer is recommended if you want to perform multiple WebLogic Server installations at your site. In a typical scenario, you download the Package installer only once, then make it available to each machine on which you wish to have the product installed. (You can run the installer from each machine directly over the local network, or copy the installer onto each machine and run it.)
*"Net Installer":* If you want to install the WebLogic and donot want the Installer keeo with you for future use...This is good. It has 40 MB size ...because this 40MB installer will start Downloading rest of the part of the complete installer from the Oracle N/W on the fly. Unlike the Net installer, the Package installer does not provide for any reduction in download time or the amount of disk space required for the installation files.
    Thanks
