Try creating the boot.properties file and starting the Admin Server from command line.

    Hi,
    I had come up with this issue twice, once I download WL from a server from Asia, and had this issue. I just download once again from the server at US, and the issue was gone. The second time it was a weird anti virus configuration that tried to scan the file while the installation was taking place (I do not think this last one applies here.)

  • Memory leak in a client using EJBs deployed in a Bea Weblogic 10.0.0 cluste

    Hi all,
    We are having a memory leak in a client using stateless EJBs deployed in cluster. The client is a Tomcat 6.0.18 with java 6 but it is reproduced using Tomcat 5 with java 5. The client is calling a Weblogic Server 10.0 making
    calls to an EJB deployed in cluster that has two instances installed in two different machines.
    The client works fine if we shutdown one of the server instances and so when the client is using only one instance.
    Resuming the environment:
    Client Side:
    1 HP-Itanium machine with HP-UX.
    1 Tomcat 6 with java 6 (reproduced with java 5)
    Bea Weblogic client (wlclient.jar) for Weblogic 10.0.0
    Server Side:
    2 HP-Itanium machines with HP-UX
    Bea Weblogic Server 10.0.0 installed in both machines
    An unique domain
    Two Bea instances (one per machines) associated to a Bea Cluster
    EJBs deployed in both instances
    We have monitored the memory consumed in Tomcat and we have noticed that the VM memory PS OLD GEN grows up permanently when we make tests having the two server side Bea Instances up. We have extended
    the memory VM parameters in Tomcat client till 1G and it's only a way to delay the end: the free memory is empty, the GC is not able to free no more byte and the CPU is 100% consumed by the GC work. At the end Tomcat Client
    doesn't accept more http petitions and must be restarted.
    Besides, we have studied the VM memory in Tomcat using jmap and importing it using Eclipse Memory Analyzer. We have seen some strange memory blocks of several Mbytes that are always growing up and that are stored
    under data structures in the package com.sun.corba:
    com.sun.corba.se.impl.legacy.connection.SocketFactoryConnectionImpl (4.5Mb)

  • Log4j not logging messages out to weblogic console for custom automatplugin

    Hi,
    We have a custom automation plugin for the OSM application build 381 in our environment(HP-UX Itanium platform). The plugins are bundled in a single ear application "A.ear" which is a mixed bag of pre-defined automation plugins of type XsltSender, XsltAutomator(both InternalReciever as well ExternalReceiver) as well other custom automators(java). For logging of messages in order to aid debugging of custom automators, we are using a logger "com.xyz.osm.plugin" which is also declared in log4j.xml file that is within omslogging.jar. You must already be aware that the build scripts of assembling, deploying ansd registering plugins also includes omslogging.jar are part of the application ear.

    In addition to the above logger, the pre-defined automators XsltSender, XsltReceiver also enable logging from xsl files by making the "log" parameter available. Thus we have lines such as the one below in our xsl files that should print messages to the weblogic console.
    <xsl:variable name="addLog1" select="java:info($log, 'transformSiebelActivationRequest: ***** Starting *****')"/>
    The logger that allows printing of these lines is "com.mslv.oms.automation".

    These configurations should have ideally allowed one to see messages such as one below getting printed out to weblogic console:

    Unfotunately after having done all the above configuration, we are still unable to see any such log messages in the console apart from those emitting from SOP and from <xsl:message> inserted in java & xsl files respectively.
    I also checked if the log4j sub-system is able to correctly initialize after parsing the log4j.xml. It does and one can confirm it by setting system property log4j.debug=true in setDomainEnv.sh file.

I don't see any warnings or erro messages in the logs indicating that log4j configuration failed for custom application failed. We want to refrain using SOP and <xsl:message> but I am afraid we have no option other than filling up our sources files with them.
    Bottomline, how do we get application B(which in our case is the custom plugin) to log messaged the console just like that done by application A(oms.ear).
    I am sure OSM developers would like to leverage log4j bundled with OSM SDK to log messages that would aid in trouble-shooting during development cycles. Both application ear files have commons-logging-1.1.jar,log4j-1.2.13.jar, omslogging.jar available in their classpaths. In other words, META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file of oms.war(web module within oms.ear) and xyz.jar(ejb module within xyz.ear) has references to these jars.
    Appreciate if one can reply and let me know if they could get log messages to print from custom plugin.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    We have a custom automation plugin for the OSM application build 381 in our environment(HP-UX Itanium platform).
    <category name="com.mtsa.osm.plugin">
    <priority value="debug"/>
    </category>
    Below java code snippet is taken from our custom automation plugin classes indicating how the above logger is being used for printing messages.
    //Declaration
    private static Log log = LogFactory.getLog("com.mtsa.osm.plugin");
    mthod1(){
    log.info("xyz");
    In addition to the above logger, the pre-defined automators XsltSender, XsltReceiver also enable logging from xsl files by making the "log" parameter available. Thus we have lines such as the one below in our xsl files that should print messages to the weblogic console.
    <xsl:variable name="addLog1" select="java:info($log, 'transformSiebelActivationRequest: ***** Starting *****')"/>
    The logger that allows printing of these lines is "com.mslv.oms.automation".

    </category>
    These configurations should have ideally allowed one to see messages such as one below getting printed out to weblogic console:
    <16-Mar-2012 8:59:36,931 CDT PM> <INFO> <plugin.XSLTReceiver> <ExecuteThread: '19' for queue: 'oms.automation'> <transformSiebelActivationRequest: ***** Starting *****>
    Unfotunately after having done all the above configuration, we are still unable to see any such log messages in the console apart from those emitting from SOP and from <xsl:message> inserted in java & xsl files respectively.

  • BI Publisher Installation Guide HP-UX Itanium

    Hallo!I want to install BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1 on HP-UX Itanium.I am totally new to BI Publisher thus I am not sure how to proceed.
    I have created a user BIP who will own the BIP s/w.I would like to know which environment variables to put in the .profile script in /home/BIP directory.
    Also,I would like to deploy BIP in weblogic.Will i need to first install BIP by running the ./runInstaller script then after installation I inergrate BIP with weblogic?
    If one has a comprehensive manual on how to install BIP in HP-UX inergrated with weblogic,please give me the URL.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    good question. I checked the PAM for BI4 and i dont see any entries for HP-UX, also when i look into the SMP i cant find any download for BI4 on HP-UX.
    Two possibilities: HP-UX is not more supported under BI4 or the support will come in a later stage such as FP3 for BI4 or on BI4.x
    To have an official statement i would recommend you open a Message with the SAP Support.

  • Weblogic Server 9.2 MP2 - Console hangs on activating changes

    Hi,
    I have migrated the adminserver to a different server.
    After the migration, when we make changes in the weblogic console and try to activate the changes, the console hangs.
    The threads are waiting at:
    weblogic.management.provider.internal.ActivateTaskImpl
    I have tried a few things which include using “Perform Asynchronous Activation”.
    But they have not helped.
    Environment Details
    ==============
    Operating System : HP-UX Itanium
    JDK Version : 1.5
    Database Version : Oracle 10g
    Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

    facing the same problem of console hung
    for weblogic 10.3 on Red hat Linux ES 4,
    for every change console hangs and restart list shows all managed severs irrespective of changes.
    I will appriciate any help to solve this.

    I also had a look to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13179_01/common/docs100/install/index.html but I still don't know what are the exact media to be used.
    On MOS we can only download patches for Weblogic 10.0/10.0.1/10.0.2 and I didn't find anything on edelivery site ?

    Hi,
    You dont find WLS 10.0/10.0.1/10.0.2 through oracle official site.
    you need to open a ticket and get the software shipment to your address.

    Yes, this is fine. The only thing you need to watch for is that the system with the least resource is capable of taking over the workload of the system with the larger resources. This will often just be a matter of application configuration or tuning.

  • Unable to find .so file for Apache proxy in Weblogic 92

    Hi,
    I'm trying to configure Apache as a proxy for Weblogic 9.2 cluster on HP - Itanium. Apache and Weblogic are installed, configured and running. I used the jar file installer to install Weblogic.
    Now i'm unable to find the Apache plugin anywhere in my weblogic directory. Any ideas how I can get one ??
    Thanks in advance,
    Anup.

    Hi,
    Thank you both for your help. Installed the plugins and now the proxy is running very nicely. Configuration was really very simple.
    Would like to ask one nore thing. The system i'm configuring now is supposed to cater a very heavy load in terms of connections. We know the application can take it as right now the Weblogic HTTP proxy is what is failing and that's when we decided on Apache. Any recomendations on the Apache side ??
    Thanks once more,
    Anup.
