Weblogic CallRouter
Hello All,
We use WLS 7.0 SP1. We have a class that implements weblogic.rmi.cluster.CallRouter.
Depending on the business logic, the call to a session bean's method will be routed
to different servers in the cluster. The router class that we wrote is jar'ed
along with the ejb's. But it always ends up with IllegalArgumentException, class
not found during deployment. When the router class is placed in system classpath,
it was located and the ejb got deployed. But then it is unreasonable to place
this class in the classpath of every server in the cluster. I am sure there should
be a better way.
There was a thread in this group (some 6 months) back that discussed the same
issue. I think a CR was filed by BEA tech support to handle this.
Does anyone know if CallRouter works now.
Thanks in Advance
Cheers
JJ

Hi Jay,
First of all i would like to thank u for ur quick and knowledgeable reply. Your link has many solutions to my other probs :)
It seems that same problem is observed after using below line
java weblogic.rmic -clusterable -callRouter <callRouterClass> <remoteObjectClass>
it generated an xml file with the same name of remoteObjectClass having routing class information, which were bundled in my server ear/jar at proper location.
also i forgot to mention that i have properly buildscript for generating ear/jar for our EJB for WebLogic 10.3 which build through weblogic.appc.
after using weblogic.appc is still weblogic.rmic required or i need to set arguments in my weblogic.app task for -clusterable -callRouter <callRouterClass> <remoteObjectClass>
Problem still persists :(, i was reading different articiles about Paramter based Custom Router in Weblogic. Is this what i should look for?
Thanks in advance...

Weblogic.rmi.cluster.CallRouter, how to place classes?
Hi,
I,m using Weblogic 7.0. I want a class to be loaded on different cluster servers
depending on an argument.
I've defined a remote interface for the class, the class implementation that implements
that remote interface, and a class that implements the CallRouter interface to
decide what cluster should be used depending on an argument sent to one function
from the class implementation.
After that, I've compiled those 3 classes using java weblogic.rmic -clusterable
-callRouter <callRouterClass> <remoteObjectClass>
It just has created two ---RTD.XML files. My application is outspread as we are
still developing. It's not using WAR or EAR files yet, but we have our web.xml
and application.xml files.
Am I following steps correctly? If so, where should I put the classes and xmls
in the server? Should they all be in the classpath and that's all? If not, what
more should I do, create a jar with 3 classes and xmls? How?One last question. How should I call the class from client code?

Weblogic clustering - CallRouter Issue
Dears,
I am facing an issue while migrating from WebLogic Server 7 (SP5) to WebLogic Server 10.3.
In WebLogic Server 7, we have have made a cluster of 3 managed servers. The application architecture is simeple a client-server for server EJB 2.0 (Session and Entity Beans) were used where all clients call a single Session Bean Remotely.
To cope up managed server affinity issues we have created our own router class (an implementation of CallRouter interface).
Now, same running router implementation is not functioning in WebLogic 10.3.
Mirgation From:
WebLogic Server 7 (SP5)
For Server JRE: 1.6 SR 5 (IBM)
For Client JRE: 1.4 (SUN)
OS: AIX
EJB: EJB Version 2.0
router class implementation of weblogic.rmi.cluster.CallRouter
Migration To:
WebLogic Server 10.3
For Server JRE: 1.6 SR 5 (IBM)
For Client JRE: 1.6 (SUN)
OS: AIX
router class implementation of weblogic.rmi.cluster.CallRouter
Kindly, help me why CallRouter implementation is not working on WL Server 10.3.
You urgent reply will help me for the rectification of this issue.
Thanks and Regards,

Looking for info about CallRouter experience
Hi All,
I need the equivalent of Tuxedo's data dependant routing feature with my
Weblogic Server application (based on EJBs). After reading the
documentation, I found that in a clustered configuration, one could
implement a router class (which implements the CallRouter interface) to
route method calls to a given instance based on a parameter value.
Has anyone had experience with this feature? Is this solution totally
transparent to the client and server application?
Any info is appreciated...
Thanks

Hello Arya
This is the right question for Toshiba repair centre (authorized service partner). You will be very lucky if someone here can give you proper answer. Before you wait here try to call service partner and I hope they can help you. The addresses you can find under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?pf=true -

Hi,
Can anyone plz let me know how do I use CallRouter class with
ejb. The tool weblogic.ejbc is used to generate stubs and skeletons ..
thanx
pradeep
You need to have the <home-call-router-class-name> tag in your
weblogic-ejb-jar.xml
see below
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/ejb/reference.html#1070646

Hi,
we are using replica-aware clustered EJBs. We are curreclty experimenting with custom load balancing mechanism offered by weblogic via callRouter interface. However we experimenced some kind of wierdnes regarding JNDI tree corruption. We would like to get some visibility (tracability/debug) into weblogic routing/loadbalancing mechanism. I tried DebugRouting from servers/debug - default settings but I didn't see what I would expect. May be I was looking into the wrong location (server logs).
Does anybody have any idea?
Thanksweblogic-ejb-jar.xml jndi-name (instead of local-jndi-name) is with JDeveloper version 10.1.2 & 10.1.3

Fri Dec 01 11:04:40 GMT+05:30 2Hello Muffy,
It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
this message in your log:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

Installation problem on Weblogic 10.3.2
I'm trying to install BI on Weblogic 10.3.2 under Linux. I followed the instructions in the installtion guide and edited the xmlp-server-config.xml file to change the file path to /home/repository/XMLP
under /home/repository/XMLP I have Admin, DemoFiles, Reports and Tools that I copied from my windows stand-alone application.
When I start BI I get a oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.resources.ResourceNotFoundException: ${oracle.home}/xdo/repository/Admin/Scheduler/quartz-config.properties
any idea?I had same issue with Oracle Weblogic 11g R1 (10.3.3). The problem was with the contents of the XMLP folder (not the path as the error message would suggest). The XMLP folder I was referencing in xmlp-server-config.xml was the one generated by the OBIEE installer and also configured by me using OC4J (to make sure I had a known good configuration before trying a deploy to WLS). For example, i had configured the JDBC connections and Installed the publisher scheduler tables. The fix was to use the default out of the box XMLP folder from the install media. Now the application starts without a hitch. \biee_windows_x86_101341\Windows\Server_Ancillary\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher\

Issue with JPDs in my weblogic application
I have a weblogic integration application running on WL 8.1 SP5. There are 2 JPDs and 2 web services in the application. I am having an issue in the live server when the application has been running for quite a while. One of the JPDs stops working. The issue is resolved by redeploying the application. On redeploying from the weblogic console, the code starts to run again!!! Has any one come across such an issue? Is this something to do with server settings? I would welcome any suggestions to solve this recurring issue.
Hi Darshan,
Thanks for your answer.
I change my package to do an another test.
My XML :
<dataTemplate name="XXAPINMOXML" description="SUIVI DES INTERETS MORATOIRES" defaultPackage="XXAPINMO_PKG">
<dataQuery>
<parameters>
<parameter name="p_type_edition"/>
</parameters>
<PROPERTIES>
<property name="include_parameters" value="true"/>
</PROPERTIES>
My package :
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE XXAPINMO_PKG AS
p_type_edition varchar2(150);
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package XXAPINMO_PKG;
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY XXAPINMO_PKG
AS
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean is
BEGIN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'p_type_edition ' || p_type_edition);
IF p_type_edition = 'Y' THEN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case Y');
ELSE
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case N');
END IF;
return true;
END beforeReport;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package body XXAPINMO_PKG;
Then I launch my concurrent program with 'Y' in parameter and I see the log of my concurrent program :
XDO Data Engine Version No: 5.6.3
Resp: 51213
Org ID : 45
Request ID: 2468909
All Parameters: p_type_edition=Y
Data Template Code: XXAPINMOXML
Data Template Application Short Name: XXAP
Debug Flag: N
{p_type_edition=Y}
Calling XDO Data Engine...
Début des messages de journalisation à partir du fichier FND_FILE.
p_type_edition
Case N
Fin des messages de journalisation à partir du fichier FND_FILE.
But normally it should be 'Case Y' which would be written ...
And when I see the XML via Diagnostic I don't see the parameter however I add <property ...>
I really don't understand ...
Maybe do you have an another idea ?

Problem with links in deployed ADF application to Weblogic Server 11g
Hi everyone !
I have a query here, firstly, I have created an ADF application using Jdeveloper 11g and have successfully deployed (EAR file) onto the weblogic server.
However, after testing out the application, the linking within the application does not seem to work. Whenever I click on a link or button, the page refreshes but the result is not displayed.
What could have cause the problem?
Thanks
GavinAre the ADF runtime libraries installed into the WebLogic server?

1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.
Thanks

Is there any way to assign a node value from an XML variable to a String variable
in Weblogic Process Integrator...
Thanx.
Narendra.Nerendra
Are you talking about using Xpath on the XML document and assigning to a
variable, it is unclear what you are asking

Carousel don't show images, only the page name and a "read more" link
Good morning. I'm trying to get a carousel in my page. I already set a image to one page and on my carousel component, I selected that page. When I see the carousel, it shows me the page inputed name and a "read more" link instead of the image.
