The WebLogic Event Server product announcements have gone out today and the feedback is very positive.
We will have a Technology Preview of the Eclipse (WLW) plug-in available with the GA next month. This plug-in has been designed to support developers with creating new Event Server Applications and publish them into the new container. It includes a wizard to step through the process with an option to leverage our helloworld sample as a base template allowing developers to accelerate understanding and immediately publish a working solution.

What are the classes or interfaces that we need to use to render the content and to the process the action in jsf-portlet + icefaces libraris + weblogic portal server 10.3.2
I have created the .portal file and i have included the instance of the .portlet file in the portal page. When i run .portal file on the server it will throw the below exception.

If we have only one admin account available, I am afraid there is no means to reset the password other than reinstalling Windows. See this article as a reference:

There are three ways:
1)If Sun JVM is used, then add:
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1280m -Xmx1280m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
*** -XX:PermSize and -XX:MaxPermSize should be equal and quarter of -Xmx. (-Xmx should also be equal to -Xms)
If BEA JRockit JVM is used, then add:
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1280m -Xmx1280m
2) If you still get that error, increase your real memory of system.
3) For last choice, contact with your developer to tune your application. -

Hi,
I installed an evaluation copy of Weblogic 6.1 server. Then I started the installation
of an evaluation copy of Weblogic Commerce Server 3.5. I double clicked on the
WLCS_35_with_sp1win32 to start the installation. I get the following error in
the install :
"Weblogic server 6.0 is a prerequisite for this install. Cannot find weblogic
server in C:\bea".
But I did install the 6.1 server in C:\bea on my win2k machine.
Can someone direct me to the solution. Below, you will find my registry file.

Problem with Weblogic Commerce Server 3.1
I am currently evaluating the Weblogic Commerce server 3.1 product. I have
installed the Weblogic server 5.1 and the service pack 6 along with the
Commerce Server. I can get into the WLCS Commerce Server Templates and can
navigate the store categories and search for items but when I try to add to
the shopping cart or view the shopping cart I get taken to the 'servererror'
template. I have included at the bottom of this message the message from
the log file. Does anyone have any idea why I am getting this error?

HarshadYou're right: Weblogic supports Apache web server 2.0 and 2.2 to be a proxy server but you are using Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 which is based on Apache *1.3* as you can read in "Oracle® HTTP Server Administrator's Guide"
10g (10.1.3.1.0) - Part Number B28948-01 - 1.1 Oracle HTTP Server Features, right under "Based on Apache - HTTP v1.1 Support" at
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28948/overview.htm#i1008837.
As far as I know, the only OHS based on Apache *2.0* is available as a standalone release: "Oracle HTTP Server (Apache 2.0) (10.1.3.3.0) for Linux x86" - 32bit. You can download it from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/111060_linuxsoft.html (as_101330_apache2_lnx.zip).
I've tested it successfully.

Cloned OMS - WebLogic Admin Server not available....

We are working our way through an active active R4 OMS setup, and we just successfully cloned oms1 to oms2 via cloud control, and executed the post install steps. We now need to access each of the OMSs WebLogic Admin Server Console to confirm LDAP settings, and the oms2 WebLogic Admin Server Console is unavailable. The oms2 clone has the same WebLogic Admin Server details as oms1 (see below).
Is that by design, i.e. only one WebLogic Admin Server Console with two load balanced OMSs?
Which files do we need to edit on oms2 to get oms2's WebLogic Admin Server on-line?

What Is a Domain?
+An Oracle WebLogic Server administration domain is a logically related group of Oracle WebLogic Server resources. Domains include a special Oracle WebLogic Server instance called the Administration Server, which is the central point from which you configure and manage all resources in the domain. Usually, you configure a domain to include additional Oracle WebLogic Server instances called Managed Servers. You deploy Web applications, EJBs, Web Services, and other resources onto the Managed Servers and use the Administration Server for configuration and management purposes only.+
I added the emphasis on "usually". You will always have exactly one administration server for a domain. That administration server can host other applications, it's simply a question of whether or not it's a good idea to do it. If you need to scale-up your application at a later time so that more than one server would be required - deploying your application to managed servers makes this very easy as you can just add managed servers. Typically other Oracle products in Fusion Middleware have domain templates and other installer / configuration options that default to deploying their infrastructure to managed servers. Sometimes in development / resource-constrained environments people override those defaults and try and run everything on a single Admin Server. It's usually possible, but may not be the most flexible going forward. -

An Administration Server is a WebLogic Server instance that maintains configuration data for a domain. In a development environment, it is usually sufficient to start an Administration Server and deploy your applications directly onto the Administration Server. In a production environment, you create Managed Servers to run applications. For more information about Administration Servers and Managed Servers, see "Understanding WebLogic Server Domains" in Understanding Domain Configuration for Oracle WebLogic Server.
You can start an Administration Server with a default startup script or create your own. To start an Administration Server with the WebLogic Server-included startup script:
If you have not already done so, use the Configuration Wizard or WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) to create a domain.
See Creating Domains Using the Configuration Wizard or "Creating Domains Using WLST Offline" in Oracle WebLogic Scripting Tool.
Open a shell (command prompt) on the computer on which you created the domain.
Change to the directory in which you located the domain.
By default, this directory is MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\DOMAIN_NAME, where DOMAIN_NAME is the root directory of the domain. (The name of this directory is the name of the domain.)
Run one of the following scripts:
bin/startWebLogic.cmd (Windows)
bin\startWebLogic.sh (UNIX and Windows. On Windows, this script supports the MKS and Cygnus BASH UNIX shell emulators.)
Note:
If you use a Configuration Wizard template that is provided by WebLogic Server, your domain directory includes a start script named startWebLogic. If you use a domain template from another source, the wizard might not create a start script, or it might create a script with a different name. The template designer determines whether the wizard creates a start script and the name of the script.
The startWebLogic script does the following:

Starting an Administration Server from the Windows Start Menu
When you create an Administration Server on a Windows computer, the Configuration Wizard creates a shortcut on the Start Menu for starting the server (User Projects > DOMAIN_NAME > Start Admin Server for WebLogic Server Domain).
The command that the Configuration Wizard adds to the Start menu opens a command window and calls the startup script that is described in Starting an Administration Server with a Startup Script. I am not able to access https://<myhostname>:7001/console URL after sucessfull installation of web logic server on linux. During installation I also created base_domain.

The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

Administrator Login & Issue with Weblogic Admin Server Console
I recently applied a PeopleTools patch to a test environment. I will be doing this to production soon, and as I was going through my screenshots of what I did in test, I ran across an area that may cause me an issue when I apply it to production.
There is a screen which prompts you for the administrator login and password for the weblogic domain. I wasn't sure of this when I did it in test, but in the PeopleTools install doc, it said the default is system/Passw0rd
This worked fine in test. However, the person who set this up in production may have used a different password. I don't want to get halfway through the patch and have to abort because I don't know the password.
I did some research and read there was a file with this info. I think it was boot.properties, but it was encrypted.
I then started the Weblogic Admin Server Console in test and was able to login with system/Passsw0rd so that verified a way of confirming the password in test.
I tried to do the same in production, but the Weblogic Admin Server Console page does not come up. The webserver is running, and if it wasn't, my phone would be ringing. Why does the console not come up?
However, the screen that comes up during the patch that prompts you for this asks you to enter your password, and re-enter it on the next line, so maybe its setting the password, not verifying that you know it. Is this true, I could make it whatever I want?
The WebLogicAdmin_weblogic.log file has not been updated in months. This may have been when we did the last upgrade.
Can you tell me how to determine/verify this password?

RogerI'm not sure if there's an easy way to verify this. If I'm not mistaken you'll have batch file called startweblogicadmin.bat in the bin directory. You have to start this to get the administrator console running. It will be running on port :9999 by default if you haven't changed this.

Weblogic Portal ( Server ) upgrade from 10.0 MP1 to 10.3.5

We are currently attempting to upgrade WebLogic Portal Server in development environment and having problems when i run the installer. ( WLS1035_upgrade_generic.jar ).
I'm attempting this upgrade in Windows 7 professional environment ( 64 bit ) and it is a Windows VM with in a MAC OS X.
Problem : At the screen where it asks to Choose Middleware Home Type ---> click next ---> it shows error message saying Product is not Installed.
Environment : Upgrade of WebLogic 10.0 MP1 portal server ( JDK 1.5_30 ) on a Windows Virtual Machine running using Parallels Desktop software

I went through the forums and tried
- Oracle's Minimum Technical Requirements says that i need to have JDK 1.6_24 and have installed JDK 1.6.0_35. ( jdk-6u35-windows-x64.exe ) .
I'm currently running the setup from command prompt using this version of Java.
- Tried using BEA WebLogic smart upgrade. But it is not recognising our Oracle Support Login credentials. I tried doing this in offline mode having the above .jar and .zip file patch in the correct directory but its not recognising.
Weblogic home directory is c:\bea and it has got all the directories inside it - i don't understand the reason why installer is not able to identify the existing WLS installation.
I would appreciate help around this as i'm not sure what else to try ?
Cheers,I am not sure what you are doing is supported. You cannot upgrade a 10.0 to a 10.3.5 the way you are trying. The updater may be used to upgrade froma 10.3.x to 10.3.5 i believe. Check this out Upgrading WebLogic Server 9.x or 10.0 Application Environments to 10.3.5

HTML Code text appearing instead of checkbox in an interactive report
