WebLogic Express and Clustering

Does weblogic express offer the same clustering options as weblogic server
          with regard to HttpSession replication?
I'm looking at an architecture where the web container is separated from the
ejb container (for security reasons) and would like to avoid paying the
          higher WLS license.

  • Difference between weblogic express and Server

The installers are same as Weblogic Server and Express. There is no differentiator in Server and express. How we can make sure that all the elements in the express component only will be loaded into the memory so that the consumption in the machine resources is less. It seems that it is going to load everything and then the differentiation would be done based on the license. Any Idea ???
    Thanks,
    Avijit

I understand that the difference is in the license file.
So, the answer is not in e-docs ... right ?

  • IBM MQ and Weblogic Express

We are currently using Weblogic Express and trying work with IBM MQ queues without upgrading our Weblogic license.
What are the possible ways of interfacing with IBM MQ using Weblogic Express?
              Thanks.

    Kumar,
MQ is a queuing mechanism whereas Oracle B2B is trading partner integration product. Oracle B2B does support communication over IBM MQ -
    https://blogs.oracle.com/oracleb2bgurus/entry/b2b_communication_using_ibm_mq
Let me give you a simple scenario, suppose where a .Net/java application wants to send data to Mainframe or any other ERP system. If application is internal, you may directly publish data to MQ and consumer app will push it to mainframe (if there any).
This could be very well established by integrating Oracle SOA and any Oracle B2B alsoYou will need these products only when the client application is external and you cannot expose your internal servers to the internet/WAN. You will need Oracle B2B only when the incoming message is a business message being sent over a specific transport and exchange and is part of a business process otherwise by just using SOA Suite you can receive the message from client and pass it to the mainframe.
We would need to store the messages to use one of the messaging tool.Oracle B2B and SOA Suite are not just a messaging tool but they form an entire enterprise middleware based on SOA. MQ is just one of the queuing mechanism.

  • WLS Express and in-memory replication

I will be purchasing WLS and or WLS Express. I'm looking at using Zeus as my Web Server and then using the Apache-Proxy Plugin for redirecting dynamic content to my Web-Cluster.
Question: Can WebLogic Express do clustering and in-memory session replication? If so I would be very intrested. We will be migrating our business logic into EJB's soon enough but I have a proof of concept comming up real quick and I I could use WLS Express for my Web-Cluster and then use the more "Expensive" but robust App-Server in the back I would simply love it!

              >
For most applications, the in-memory rep performance should be very
good. In the benchmarks I've seen, it approaches the performance of
using no session persistence. JDBC adds quite a bit of overhead.
The in-memory rep performance is proportional to how much data you are
sending across the wire. In general, I would not recommend huge
              sessions.

For this type of stuff you should talk to your sales-person.
We just make it, not sell it, so we dont understand the difference

  • Weblogic Express | Installation help needed

I have to install Weblogic Express. As mentioned in the http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/faq/wlx.html#939948, I followed the link
http://commerce.bea.com/downloads/weblogic_express.jsp for installing the trial version of Weblogic Express but it takes me to the link for installing Weblogic Server/Express. I chose to download
"WebLogic Server/Express 8.1 with SP3" but that installed Weblogic Server and other Weblogic features other than Weblogic Express.
My question is that how can I install Weblogic Express and where can I find a good documentation for the same as I am finding it hard to find?
Also I want to know that can Weblogic Express be integrated with JCA feature?
    Please Help.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Gaurish.

Where can I get the weblogic express license? Does it come with the 8.1 SP4 evaluation download? Under WEBLOGIC_HOME, i only see license.bea and license_scale_limited.bea, none of which mentions anything about Express. Thanks!

  • ALBPM Enterprise SA 5.7 MP3 and Weblogic Express 9.2

We are using ALBPM Enterprise SA 5.7 MP3 and Weblogic Express 9.2. We have the following questions:
    1) Why, after assigning a Parametric Role to an user, we have to restart the portal in Weblogic before the user can log back into the system? When we do not do it, the user will see an error on the screen informing of a lack of permisions to visualize the activities of the new assigned role. This happens even when we have already clicked several times on the button labeled "Re-load Information from the Directory" (in ALBPM's WebConsole) and even after a few hours have passed. All our engines have a "Directory Polling Interval" of 1 minute, but it seems not to work.
    2) Do we have to modify any extra value, or set something in particular in Weblogic?
Thanks in advance. We look forward for suggestions.

  • AIX 5.1, WebLogic 5.10 and Clustering

              Hi all,
I'm able to setup IBM_HTTP_SERVER/1.3.26.1 (Apache/1.3.26) as proxy, WebLogic
5.10 clustering on a AIX 5.1 box. Problem is images are not showing up properly
              and I'm getting Javascript errors.
On non-clustered environment, the above configurations work fine.
The questions I have are the following:
              1. Are the above configurations supported? If not, do you think that will work?
              2. Does anyone have the above configurations and got clustering working?
Hoping to hear from you guys soon.
              Thanks !

    Thanks gary
Ill be more specific as i did not come here first
the statments that aix 5.1 and 4.3 ldap dont support
rfc 2307 are what worry me, as fitting these clients
into a DS 5.2 setup that works with solaris 8,9,10
and hp-ux using ldapux 4.0 which is rfc2307.
how does this effect those clients.
5.2 is fine as it supports 2307
regards peterOne thing to keep in mind though is that with 5.2, AIX will not perform an ldap bind to authenticate a user, it prefers to bind to the directory server as the administator (i.e. cn=directory manager), and to authenticate, retrieve the user's hashed unix password (in the traditional UNIX crypt format) and check it for itself. You can use an alternate entry for AIX servers to use instead of directory manager, but they essentially need total read/write access to your entire suffix. With 5.3, it's supposed better (though I have not had an opportunity to verify).

  • HttpClusterServlet Proxy Plugin problem - Weblogic Express 10

    Hi,
I am using Weblogic Express 10 version. I am trying to configure HttpClusterServelet in one of my test machine.
I have a Admin server and 3 Managed servers which are part of clusters. I have a test war file which is deployed on to the cluster.
I am able to open the test war file application by hitting Managed servers URL's & Port no's
    for eg: http://hostname:portno/testapp
Now I have created a war file with httpclusterserver features and deployed it to Admin server. (created web.xml & weblogic.xml inside WEB-INF directory and built it as war file and deployed it to Admin server)
so practically whenever I hit the Admin server URL my request should be proxied to one of the three Managed server which are part of the cluster
But when I try to open the application through admin server hostname and port no, I get below 403 exception on browser
    Error 403--Forbidden

If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.

  • WSS security and clustering  in SOA Suite 11g

We are calling one composite from another as a reference. Both are on the same clustered domain.
We are using AIA WSDLs so there is a default WSS username password token as policy.
While on the single server domain, we do not need to pass the credentials since request was going on the same Weblogic server and it was running fine.
But when we moved to the clustered domain, we changed the endpoints in composites to an external hardware load balancer and now it needs the sercurity credentials because the request is coming via the load balancer running on the different machine.
    I have two queries:
    1. Is there a way we can skip external load balancer while calling composites within the same clustered domain and still be able to route the requests to all managed servers instead of only one? (may be there is a way we can provide multuple URLs in the composite somehow or any other setting on cluster which would enable us to send all the requests to a common hostname which will route it to multiple managed servers in round robin)
    2. If above is not possible then we will have to use the external load balancer, in which case I need to set username password tokens while calling different composites. I need help in configuring this. It would be nice if anyone can provide me a link to a sample may be.
    Thanks

  • Problem with File Based replication in Weblogic Express 10

    Hi,
We have Web application (exploded war) file deployed on Weblogic Express 10, to a Cluster of three Managed Servers (all three on different physical machines).
We are using File based session persistance in weblogic.xml
We have a shared location for all the three servers where we will be sharing the Session data.
When we start the application, its works fine and is very fast, but after sometime the application slows down.
Troubleshooting the Issue we found that its a problem with file based replication. By using File based replication every user session is stored in form of directory inside shared directory. So after sometime thousands of directories are created inside the shared directory where the session information is stored. So when we access the application, its waiting for lot of time with Message Session Monitor .... (this is because its browsing through the shared session storage directory for lot of time for session information as it has lot of directories) and finally after a long time like 10 mins we get the Application Home Page.
When we clean up all the saved sessions inside shared directory, the application works fine, But we will see the same sometime later may be after 3 or 4 hours when the shared session directory has lot of session information stored in it.
Is there a way to clean up the saved session information on file system as soon as that user session is closed by using file based replication.
We cannot used Inmemory replication as our Appl doesnt support it.
Please advice as it is a major show stopper in our Production Mirror env.

It is possible to reduce number of live session by configuring very low timeout-secs weblogic.xml. Default is 60 minutes.

  • Single Client Access Name for Weblogic Forms and Reports.

    I have a 2 node clustered system:
    Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
    Weblogic 10.3.3 (on each node)
Weblogic Forms and Reports 11.1.1.3 (on each node)
Database 11gR2 RAC 11.2.0.1 (on each node)
The forms and reports are clustered and I can connect to each from each of the two servers and the cluster is working well.
The database uses Single Client Access Name (SCAN) to present the database as if it were one server called dbserver1.
I was wondering if there was a similar thing for Weblogic and what everyone else uses to present their application as a single name to the user.
I tried using Windows Network Load Balancing, but this stops the database scan listeners from working.
    Thanks.

    Dear,
Did you find an answer to your question back in 2009?
We are facing the same installation architecture, but we do not find any concrete information regarding SCAN with Oracle Forms 11g
