Weblogic GC log shows 32 bit heap??
Hello Gurus,
Following is the environment:
OS: Windows 2008 R2 x64 bit
We have installed Oracle's EPM suite on the server which is again 64 bit. We are currently having an OOM issue for Financial Reporting server and to understand the Garbage collection we enabled the Garbage collection logging.
ISSUE: When we saw the GC log we found the following line in it --
[INFO ][memory ] Running with 32 bit heap and compressed references.
[INFO ][memory ] GC mode: Garbage collection optimized for short pausetimes, strategy: Generational Concurrent Mark & Sweep.I am confused with the first two lines in the log as shown above. What does it mean? Why is it telling that we are running 32 bit heap as we have 64 bit EPM installed in our environment.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
hyperionEPM
Do a java -version to get the WL bit
and Which JVM are you using, is it Sun or Oracle
or
java -d64 -showversion - > will give
Running a 64-bit JVM is not supported on this platform

Oracle errors in Weblogic Error logs appear in non english
We have a problem with weblogic error logging. Specifically, in a managed server's log file, Oracle errors such as ORA-XXXX show in Greek, not English. We are assuming
that this is because the timezone is Europe/Athens. However, the weblogic application server runs with user.language=en, user.country=US. What's more, there are 4 application servers and 2 of them have this problem. The oracle database is accessed via weblogic datasources.
Oracle database server Setup: Oracle Server 11gR2 running on Oracle Linux 64 bit, timezone set to Europe/Athens
Weblogic Server: Weblogic 10.3.5 running on Oracle Linux 64 bit, timezone set to Europe/Athens
The managed server, according to jrockit, the jvm runs with the following language related system properties:
user.language=en, user.country=US, user.timezone=Europe/Athens
The question is: How do we tell oracle / weblogic to log english text for the ORA errors?
Thanks,
ChrisI digged in the weblogic installation directory and it seems like the domain configuration wizard messed up the jdbc configs for the data sources.
The config xml files for the data sources in the /domain root/config/jdbc directory had oracle driver but the test query was for pointbase. I double checked from the database.xml file in the init-info directory and corrected the entry in the datasource config xmls and voila!.. the errors were gone.
I am not sure if this was the right approach and whether i have solved the issue or simply patched it.. so I am keeping the question open. If any one has any inputs I will be grateful.
If the mods/admins feel that the thread should be marked as solved I will surely do so.
Thanks. -

Process Flow log shows RPE-01003 on mapping execution
Process Flow log shows this following error mappings execution:
oracle.wh.runtime.platform.adapter.InfrastructureException: RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing.
- no rows found for select into statement
The Process Flow never recover from this error - owb_owner.all_rt_audit_executions shows the mapping in BUSY and I have to manually abort the process flow to recover.
Steps to Reproduce Problem:
We recently upgrade our test system from *10.2 into 11.1* and OWB client from *10.2.0.3 into 10.2.0.4*
During the upgrade DBA update OWB location setting into 11.1
After the upgrade, I re-deploy several Process Flows, but I did not re-deploy mappings that get call by the PF
When I run the PF, the mapping was stuck in 'BUSY' status (owb_owner.all_rt_audit_executions)
When i check the log it shows this following error:

Hi,
intermittently we are seeing this exception in the server log files on weblogic 6.1

Did your C:\Lighthammer\Security\userdata\IlluminatorUsers.xml or other files in this directory get corrupted somehow?
If you've rebooted the box or bounced the ServletExec-xMII service, do you see anything in the SYSTEM level messages that are forced during the initialization sequence in either the Lighthammer General log or the LHSecurity General log that would give any indications to the problem?

XDO Log shows - java.io.UTFDataFormatException: Invalid UTF8 encoding
We have a XDO Region in our OA Page - that calls XML Publisher Report taking as input a XML File generated from a concurrent program. The concurrent program calls a PL/SQL Program to generate the XML File.
The XML File has the encoding fetched from
select tag from fnd_lookup_values
where lookup_type = 'FND_ISO_CHARACTER_SET_MAP'
and lookup_code = ( select value from v$nls_parameters where parameter='NLS_CHARACTERSET')
and language='US' ;
The tag = 'UTF-8' and hence the encoding in XML File is as -
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
The XML File is getting created successfully.. But XML Publisher is not able to process the report properly and is displaying the error - An error encountered either due to invalid Template details or due to null Data Input Stream.

Application hangs and sql log shows "I/O is frozen" for minutes until "I/O was resumed"
VSS is being invoked to backup our SQL Server 2012 databases throughout the day. Occasionally, maybe once every few days, the application using the database hangs for a few minutes and coincidentally the sql server log shows that I/O was frozen for
a few minutes (rather than less then a second for all other backups):
11/25/2014 09:11:50,spid87,Unknown,I/O was resumed on database ourdatabase. No user action is required.
11/25/2014 09:09:10,spid87,Unknown,I/O is frozen on database ourdatabase. No user action is required. However<c/> if I/O is not resumed promptly<c/> you could cancel the backup.
AppAssure (backup software) support said this may be an issue with VSS. What is the best way to go about troubleshooting this? I've read many posts with people having similar issues dating back to 2010 and haven't really come across any
solutions. Should I simply open a case with MS support?

Thanks,
-BobHi Bob,
AFAIK yes this issue of ''I/O was frozen'' might occur when you use backup tool which uses VSS to take backups. This is actually how VSS backups works . There are few steps when backup is being taken using TP tool which uses VS. One of the steps is to create
snapshot so that consistent backup could be taken
In the snapshot creation phase following happens
a) SQL Writer talks to SQL Server to prepare for a snapshot backup
b) Then all I/O for the database being backed up is frozen, and then we create the snapshot.
c) Once this is done, the I/O is resumed. This process is called "thaw".
The second step would freeze I/O momentarily and you might see little freezing. AFAIK this is default behavior how VSS backups work
You must read below excellent article It would help you in understanding how this backup works
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlserverfaq/archive/2009/04/28/informational-shedding-light-on-vss-vdi-backups-in-sql-server.aspx

Error description:
Windows 2012 R2 Server clients are not reporting back to the server. "Required" column is showing "0" for all security updates. Investigation in the WindowsUpdate.log shows "WARNING: Failed to get WU Exemption info from NLM,

Robocopy Log Shows All Files Copied but Folder Properties Different on Source and Target
Hi,
I'm replacing an old 2003 R2 server with a 2012 R2 server and moving data to it. I used robocopy to migrate data. No users are currently accessing the source so there are no open files by users.
The source folder is:
27.9 GB with 194,490 files and 14,273 folders.
Robocopy copied the data and reported no errors but the destination folder only has:
24.6 GB with 181,487 files and 14,167 folders.
I ran robocopy twice more. Each time, the log shows that it skipped 14,273 directories and 194490 files.
So robocopy believes the source and destination directories are in synch. But the properties of the directory show me different numbers. Any ideas? I need to move a few more TB of data and be confident that everything copied.
Here's the command I'm running:
robocopy \\server-old\d$\data \\server-new\d$\data /E /COPYALL /DCOPY:T /R:5 /W:3 /TEE /V /LOG:D:\Logs\log1.log
Thanks,
GregHi,
Thanks for your post.
As far as i know, system Volume Info and Recycler are NOT transferred when you use robocopy to transfer all the files/folders from one drive to another.
And Robocopy has switch "/MIR" which you can use to Mirror a complete directory tree if required.

Seeing performance difference when using 6-4- keys but not showing 64 bit k
Forgive me if this has beem documented but i looked and couldnt find anything. So here goes.. I have a macbook 3,1 4gb ram. By all documents I know I will not see the 64bit kernel but when I hold down the 6 and 4 key when I boot up.... OMG, SL loads up like nothing I've ever seen. FAST isn't in the ball park. So I check and yes it still shows 64 bit extension/no.
Has anyone else seen this?As no Windows 8.x nor 64-bit OS available ATM, I can't check/debug this issue (reported on some forum) by myself --> so, is there some difference in handling hotkeys and/or window functionality between either W7
and W8.x or 32-bit and 64-bit OS?
VC++ 2013.4 in use. Any suggestions welcome?
You need to debug it in the target OS. Use Hyper-V, VirtualBox, or some other virtual environment and install the target OS. These have trial periods, so you aren't out any money. -

Bridge CS5 showing 16 bit previews
Hello
I have written about this before and have never had a good answer.
I see that the latest version of Bridge CS5 64 bit Windows seems to show 16 bit previews. The previews are posterised.
I have a ATI HD5400 with the latest drivers running on Win 7 64 bit. Win display properties shows 32 bit display at 1920 by 1200 on my Eizo SX2462W monitor.
If I open a previewed image in Camera Raw, I see a initially a posterised image which then redraws to un posterised.
Bridge slide shows also show posterised images and do not have the sharpening applied in CR.
I have purged all my caches and also have selected 100% previews and monitor sized previews.
The Loupe shows the posterisation.
Photoshop CS5 shows unposterised images.
Mike EnglesThe Bridge previews are jpegs and I have a feeling that there is a problem with Bridge which is I think still 32 bit in CS5. working on a 64 bit OS.
Bridge CS6 (in fact Bridge version 5) is the first version that appeared in 64 bit. But I don't see the difference of 64 and 32 bit for the system effecting your previews.
The specs of your graphic card show that this card should not cause a problem.
To clarify, (no relevant knowledge of Windows on my side I'm afraid) you have multiple disks on your system or do you have a partition on the same disk for both XP and Windows 7?
And are you using two different libraries (read: two different cache folders for Bridge, one for XP and one for Windows 7) or do you use the same cache folder for both.
The latter might cause you problems. About each new version of Bridge has a different cache structure and they are not easy interchangeable (if at all). And I think both OS have different approach of cache but I'm not sure about that.
When stating that the problem solves with purge cache on one system and same solution brought it back on the other I think here is the culprit. To me this indicates to a cache problem.
Hence my suggestion of quitting Bridge and manual deleting the total cache folder (on a Mac this is in the user library) and after restarting Bridge it will refresh with a new and empty cache folder for a fresh start. -
Guys,
How can I read the server logs via API ?
Explaining: I wanna see the Weblogic Server Logs thats is displayed in console or server logs. Then I will write a Java code that read theses files via WebLogic API and write it in a JSP page! Is it Possible ?
Thanks in advanced!Hi,
You can use the Following command to Output the Local/Remote Server Logs...Now in your Java Code Fetch this Output and format it / Display it according to your Need.
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://AdminAddress:7001 -username weblogic -password weblogic SERVERLOG
In the Above command even you can define the Server name as well to Fetch the Logs from Some Managed Servers as well..By default u get Logs for AdminServer.
Thanks
