Weblogic internals
Is there a place where I can find the documentation about how exactly the weblogic
application server (6.1 or 7.0)works? I want to know the internal programming
details of how the application server works when we start the server until we
stop it. I am looking for internals of how the application server itself works
and not how we use it externally.

Jdevloper11g+weblogic integrated server -Hibernate jars not loading
I'm trying to call Session bean from manged bean.Session bean internall calls Hibernate DAO.
I did project setup and everything looks OK.But keep getting Hibernate calsses not found error when i try to run jsp page.
Please advise me..how to load hibernate jars into integrated weblogic.
My environment
Jdev11g
Oracle10g
Ejb3
Hibernate3
JSF
Thanks
KaleeWhen you define the library settings for Hibernate, don't use "Include Jar" but create a new library, eg Project scope, and check the Default Deployment check box.

I've extended java.lang.Thread. How do I get WebLogic to use my version?
I want to add a String attribute to the thread class to save some extra info I need. I extended the Thread class with a private String with getter/setter methods.
Since WebLogic instantiates the threads and not my own code, how do I get WebLogic to use my version of Thread instead of the one from java.lang?
-BillI don't think it's possible to have WLS use your own thread implementation for WLS internals. However, for your own custom work, it's pretty straight-forward to use the CommonJ Work Manager API and add your own implementation details for a thread pool.
See documentation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/e13701/self_tuned.htm#i1069944
WorkManager Javadocs: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e13941/index.html?commonj/work/WorkManager.html
Specifically providing your own Work interface implementation should hopefully allow you to meet your need.

Monitoring heap using WebLogic console
Hi,
With WebLogic 6.1 sp3 does monitoring memory usage using the WebLogic console
cause memory to be used up? I have no beans deployed in my WebLogic server,yet
the memory usage creeps up until garbage collected.
Regards,
DonIf the console and the node are one in the same, then there is some
overhead. To test it out in a different light, you set up a single node
cluster (admin node plus 1 managed node). You should see a difference.

Hi Don,
I have seen similar behaviour and have been able to rationalize it in thefollowing
manner.
Weblogic Server periodically/constantly does internal house keepingactivities
for its various subsystems i.e., the ejb Container, the Servlet Container,the
JMS Subsystem etc..
This causes the heap in the JVM to be slowly filled up until the nextgarbage
collection kicks in.
Without knowing the internals of how weblogic is implemented, I would bevery
surprised if opening the console window affects the heap. I would be ofthe opinion
that the management subsystem constantly gathers and publishes this data.The
console would subscribe to this data. One way of empirically determiningthis
would be to open a large number of consoles and check if the memoryconsumption
rate increases.
However, I wouldn't be too worried about this behaviour.

CB.

Propagating user credentials to Web Services in WebLogic 6.1
Hi All,
Does anybody provide me some information about propagating client
credentials to the Web Service. Agree with documentation I have tried as in
code below, but it doesn't work. On a server i still have a guest user.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Properties h = new Properties();
h.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"weblogic.soap.http.SoapInitialContextFactory");
h.put("weblogic.soap.wsdl.interface",
RaServices.class.getName() );
h.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION,"simple");
h.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,"user");
h.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,"password");
Context context = new InitialContext(h);Hi Jerzy,
Were you actually able to achieve what you wanted? I'm not exactly sure, because
you said "it began to work", but you also said I "wasted much of your time". If
you still are not satisfied, I'm sure the folks in our tech support area can help
you.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for comprehensive explanation how to resolve my problem. I
have
done all work exactly
as you wrote and then it began to work, both for static and dynamic
client.
As is written in WebLogic documentation
I only restricted access to the stateless session bean that implements
my
Web Service, not the SOAP servlet.
It seams that in this case user credentials are not propagated from servlet
to ejb.
Thanks once again you wasted much time for me.

Hi Jerzy,
This does indeed work, because I just verified it. Let's go througheverything
to make sure you have all the pieces.
1. You need client code that looks something like
proxy.setUserName(userName);
proxy.setPassword(password);
where "userName" has been assigned the value of the user and "password"is
a clear-text
representation of their password.
2. You need to use the Admin console to add the user to the system.I add
mlwooten
as a user, and employees as a group. Then I put mlwooten in the employeesgroup.
3. The web.xml file for your web service should contain lines similarto
this:
<security-constraint>
<web-resource-collection>
<web-resource-name>PhoneBookService</web-resource-name>
<url-pattern>/examples/webservices/security/PhoneBookService</url-pattern>
</web-resource-collection>
<auth-constraint>
<role-name>AuthorizedUsers</role-name>
</auth-constraint>
<user-data-constraint>
<transport-guarantee>NONE</transport-guarantee>
</user-data-constraint>
</security-constraint>
<login-config>
<auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
</login-config>
<security-role>
<role-name>AuthorizedUsers</role-name>
</security-role>
4. The weblogic.xml for your web service should look something like:
<weblogic-web-app>
<security-role-assignment>
<role-name>AuthorizedUsers</role-name>
<principal-name>employees</principal-name>
</security-role-assignment>
<reference-descriptor>
<ejb-reference-description>
<ejb-ref-name>examples.webservices.security.PhoneBookService</ejb-ref-name>
<jndi-name>examples.webservices.security.PhoneBookService</jndi-name>
</ejb-reference-description>
</reference-descriptor>
</weblogic-web-app>
6. That's all I did to get it to work.
NOTE: wsgen does not add the stuff in 4 and 5, above. You must addit
manually.

Mike Wooten

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your advice.
The way you have proposed I've tested earlier and unfortunately this
method
does'nt work properly too.
It seams that session bean used as a Web Service knows nothing about
user
credentials passed from a client aplication.
Maybe, there is a bug in servlet
weblogic.soap.server.servlet.StatelessBeanAdapter wchich does'nt
propagate
credentials to a session bean implementing a Web Service, or some
configuration tasks are required on the WebLogic Web Server Components

"Michael Wooten" <[email protected]> wrote in message

Hi Jerzy,
You must do this through the WebServiceProxy object. The methods
you
want
are:
setUserName(String userName);
setPassword(String password);
The internals of WebServiceProxy will Base64 encode the password
before
it
invokes
the target web service.

i wanted to know ....the internals that how does the request passes through to
wls clusters and why and on what bases the plugin rejects the requests and mark

Fri Dec 01 11:04:40 GMT+05:30 2Hello Muffy,
It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
this message in your log:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

Installation problem on Weblogic 10.3.2
I'm trying to install BI on Weblogic 10.3.2 under Linux. I followed the instructions in the installtion guide and edited the xmlp-server-config.xml file to change the file path to /home/repository/XMLP
under /home/repository/XMLP I have Admin, DemoFiles, Reports and Tools that I copied from my windows stand-alone application.
When I start BI I get a oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.resources.ResourceNotFoundException: ${oracle.home}/xdo/repository/Admin/Scheduler/quartz-config.properties
any idea?I had same issue with Oracle Weblogic 11g R1 (10.3.3). The problem was with the contents of the XMLP folder (not the path as the error message would suggest). The XMLP folder I was referencing in xmlp-server-config.xml was the one generated by the OBIEE installer and also configured by me using OC4J (to make sure I had a known good configuration before trying a deploy to WLS). For example, i had configured the JDBC connections and Installed the publisher scheduler tables. The fix was to use the default out of the box XMLP folder from the install media. Now the application starts without a hitch. \biee_windows_x86_101341\Windows\Server_Ancillary\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher\

Issue with JPDs in my weblogic application
I have a weblogic integration application running on WL 8.1 SP5. There are 2 JPDs and 2 web services in the application. I am having an issue in the live server when the application has been running for quite a while. One of the JPDs stops working. The issue is resolved by redeploying the application. On redeploying from the weblogic console, the code starts to run again!!! Has any one come across such an issue? Is this something to do with server settings? I would welcome any suggestions to solve this recurring issue.
Hi Darshan,
Thanks for your answer.
I change my package to do an another test.
My XML :
<dataTemplate name="XXAPINMOXML" description="SUIVI DES INTERETS MORATOIRES" defaultPackage="XXAPINMO_PKG">
<dataQuery>
<parameters>
<parameter name="p_type_edition"/>
</parameters>
<PROPERTIES>
<property name="include_parameters" value="true"/>
</PROPERTIES>
My package :
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE XXAPINMO_PKG AS
p_type_edition varchar2(150);
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package XXAPINMO_PKG;
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY XXAPINMO_PKG
AS
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean is
BEGIN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'p_type_edition ' || p_type_edition);
IF p_type_edition = 'Y' THEN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case Y');
ELSE
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case N');
END IF;
return true;
END beforeReport;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package body XXAPINMO_PKG;
Then I launch my concurrent program with 'Y' in parameter and I see the log of my concurrent program :
XDO Data Engine Version No: 5.6.3
Resp: 51213
Org ID : 45
Request ID: 2468909
All Parameters: p_type_edition=Y
Data Template Code: XXAPINMOXML
Data Template Application Short Name: XXAP
Debug Flag: N
{p_type_edition=Y}
Calling XDO Data Engine...
Début des messages de journalisation à partir du fichier FND_FILE.
p_type_edition
Case N
Fin des messages de journalisation à partir du fichier FND_FILE.
But normally it should be 'Case Y' which would be written ...
And when I see the XML via Diagnostic I don't see the parameter however I add <property ...>
I really don't understand ...
Maybe do you have an another idea ?

Problem with links in deployed ADF application to Weblogic Server 11g
Hi everyone !
I have a query here, firstly, I have created an ADF application using Jdeveloper 11g and have successfully deployed (EAR file) onto the weblogic server.
However, after testing out the application, the linking within the application does not seem to work. Whenever I click on a link or button, the page refreshes but the result is not displayed.
What could have cause the problem?
Thanks
GavinAre the ADF runtime libraries installed into the WebLogic server?

How to delete the deployed composite in weblogic server 11g

ThanksHi
1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.
Thanks

Assigning a node value from an XML variable to a String type in Weblogic Process Integrator
Hi,
Is there any way to assign a node value from an XML variable to a String variable
in Weblogic Process Integrator...
Thanx.
Narendra.Nerendra
Are you talking about using Xpath on the XML document and assigning to a
variable, it is unclear what you are asking

I have extrached all the *.hbm.xml file to above location that is D:\saas-mappings.But now the application is giving me above mentioned error.The error says that it is related to Named queries.I am pasting the contents of a sample *.hbm.xml file having named query as a sample

-Sameer GijareHi,
For a tutorial with source on how to create and deploy a simple quickstart JEE5 JPA enterprise 3-tier application on your Oracle WebLogic 10.3 server - see the following example that uses the EclipseLink JPA provider. You should be able to transition all of your mapping information (the @ManyToOne and table/column overrides and named queries for example) using either JPA via entity annotations or native extensions if you do not want to implement EJB3.
see...
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
We also have a similar version for Tomcat 6 except the JPA entity beans run outside a container-managed JTA transaction on the web container - for reference.

Exception preparing module: EJBModule(ejb_RemoteServicesEjb) Unable to deploy EJB: RemoteServicesEjb.jar from RemoteServicesEjb.jar: There are 1 nested errors: weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.ComplianceException: In EJB com.package.ejbimpl.RemoteServicesEjb, the throws clause for ejbCreate method ejbCreate() contains exceptions that are NOT in the throws clause of the corresponding home interface method. at weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.HomeInterfaceChecker.checkCreateMethodsMatchBeanCreates(HomeInterfaceChecker.java:365) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.EJBComplianceChecker.check(EJBComplianceChecker.java:337) at weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.EJBComplianceChecker.checkDeploymentInfo(EJBComplianceChecker.java:286) at weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.complianceCheckJar(EJBCompiler.java:952) at weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.checkCompliance(EJBCompiler.java:920) at weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.doCompile(EJBCompiler.java:246) at weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.compileEJB(EJBCompiler.java:552) at weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.compileEJB(EJBCompiler.java:519) at weblogic.ejb.container.deployer.EJBDeployer.runEJBC(EJBDeployer.java:393) at weblogic.ejb.container.deployer.EJBDeployer.compileJar(EJBDeployer.java:715) at weblogic.ejb.container.deployer.EJBDeployer.compileIfNecessary(EJBDeployer.java:618) at weblogic.ejb.container.deployer.EJBDeployer.prepare(EJBDeployer.java:1154) at weblogic.ejb.container.deployer.EJBModule.prepare(EJBModule.java:425) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.ModuleListenerInvoker.prepare(ModuleListenerInvoker.java:93) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.DeploymentCallbackFlow$1.next(DeploymentCallbackFlow.java:387) at weblogic.application.utils.StateMachineDriver.nextState(StateMachineDriver.java:37) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.DeploymentCallbackFlow.prepare(DeploymentCallbackFlow.java:58) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.DeploymentCallbackFlow.prepare(DeploymentCallbackFlow.java:42) at weblogic.application.internal.BaseDeployment$1.next(BaseDeployment.java:615) at weblogic.application.utils.StateMachineDriver.nextState(StateMachineDriver.java:37) at weblogic.application.internal.BaseDeployment.prepare(BaseDeployment.java:191) at weblogic.application.internal.SingleModuleDeployment.prepare(SingleModuleDeployment.java:16) at weblogic.application.internal.DeploymentStateChecker.prepare(DeploymentStateChecker.java:155) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.AppContainerInvoker.prepare(AppContainerInvoker.java:60) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.operations.ActivateOperation.createAndPrepareContainer(ActivateOperation.java:197) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.operations.ActivateOperation.doPrepare(ActivateOperation.java:89) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.operations.AbstractOperation.prepare(AbstractOperation.java:217) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.DeploymentManager.handleDeploymentPrepare(DeploymentManager.java:723) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.DeploymentManager.prepareDeploymentList(DeploymentManager.java:1190) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.DeploymentManager.handlePrepare(DeploymentManager.java:248) at weblogic.deploy.internal.targetserver.DeploymentServiceDispatcher.prepare(DeploymentServiceDispatcher.java:159) at weblogic.deploy.service.internal.targetserver.DeploymentReceiverCallbackDeliverer.doPrepareCallback(DeploymentReceiverCallbackDeliverer.java:157) at weblogic.deploy.service.internal.targetserver.DeploymentReceiverCallbackDeliverer.access$000(DeploymentReceiverCallbackDeliverer.java:12) at weblogic.deploy.service.internal.targetserver.DeploymentReceiverCallbackDeliverer$1.run(DeploymentReceiverCallbackDeliverer.java:45) at weblogic.work.SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl$WorkAdapterImpl.run(SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl.java:516) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:201) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:173)
Does anybody knows what must be going wrong?
Can't I deploy EJB 1.1 jar directly on Weblogic 10.3.0.0 or I need to change or configure something before doing it?Does the ejbCreate() method of the com.package.ejbimpl.RemoteServicesEjb class have an exception on it's throws clause that is not present on the ejbCreate() method of your home interface? If so, does the error go away if you add the exception to the home's ejbCreate() method? In general, you want checked exceptions in a throws clause to match between the interface declaration of the method and the implementation of the method on the bean class.
