Weblogic license for Oracle IRM

There are 3 versions of weblogic available now according to e14860 Oracle® Fusion Middleware Licensing Information.pdf
1)Standard
2)Enterprise
3)Weblogic Suite
Definitely we need enterprise as it has clustering capability. What I don’t know for sure is that whether we need weblogic suite for Oracle IRM?
Can anyone shed some light on this.
thanks
k

No, the WebLogic Server you choose depends on your individual business needs. Therefore this is something that should be part of the installation scoping process.

Frank.

Is oracle lite free or is there any license for Oracle Lite 10g for production use ??

Please note that Oracle Lite is no longer being actively developed, and no further releases are planned. The recommended small footprint database from Oracle is Berkeley DB.

Yes, you have to specify it as java.sql.Types.OTHER and use the

  • Weblogic jDriver for Oracle 9.0.1.4

    Hi,
We are using the Weblogic jDriver for Oracle oci901_8 to access the Oracle 9.0.1.
We are planning to upgrade the oracle to 9.0.1.4. Will there be any issues with
the Weblogic jDriver that is being currently used by us(oci901_8 ).
Is there Weblogic jDriver available for oracle 9.0.1.4?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vidhyaa Shankar.S

The driver you have is ok to be used with oracle 9.0.1.4. Actually, you are getting
patch set for 901 database server. So, you dont need additional driver. The driver you
have is ok to work with it.

  • Partition license for oracle 9i

    Dear all,
we are having oracle 9i database (9.2.0.4) on hp-ux platform. The database is being used for DWH purpose, so table partitioning feature is used.
We have cpu based Oracle enterprise edition license for this database. Please suggest if we need to procure any license for partitioning feature too or the same license will work for Oracle 9i database?
As nowhere i found anything about partitioning license for oracle 9i database, though for oracle10g it is written in documentation that partitioning feature is optional package and we need to procure additional license for it.
    Thanks in advance...

for license Information you should contact oracle local office in your country , Also note that 9i is unsupported now .

  • Personal support license for Oracle.

I am a developer for a company that spends over one million dollars a year on Oracle licenses. I have ordered the free DVD's for Oracle Linux and I am planning to install it on My personal computer at home. I am then going to install 32bit Oracle 11 for Linux so that I can evaluate the new database. I wanted to purchase a Linux support license for my one home computer so that I would have access to web support and Linux patches. This computer is owned by me, not the company. When I attempted to go into oracle store, I was unable to purchase the $99.99 support license until I registered. Unfortunately, you must supply a company name and address to register in oracle store to purchase the Linux support license. I do not want to put the support contract under my company, it is MY computer. Since I could not find any way to register as an individual, I called the toll free number to ask the sales department. I was explaining my problem and as soon as I said a personal license for one installation of Oracle Linux, the sales person hung up on me. They did not say anything, just hung up. I am upset and do not feel that this behavior is acceptable if oracle is going to be selling Linux support.
Now the question. Does anyone know how to register for Linux support as an individual?

    Beilstwh,
Many customers have purchased a Network support for personal use. If you purchase via the online store, you can use your own name as the company name.

  • License for Oracle Unix client

Let say I have an application running on Unix 64bit (SunOS,HPUX or AIX) accessing a DB with proC, php or jdbc OCI.
From XE doc I understood that it is possible to have the DB running Oracle XE on Linux 32bit and the application connecting to the DB with Oracle SE or EE Client from Unix 64bit.
What license is required for Oracle Unix client?
Is the configuration above free (or am I naive)?

As least Oracle instance client is Free according to Oracle.

  • Problem installing weblogic jdriver for oracle

    Hi ,
    I have installed WLS510 and Oracle8i Personal Edition on windows98. I have
put the c:\weblogic\bin\oci815_8 directory in the system path and
    c:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes102.zip in the CLASSPATH
Now when I try to test the connection using the following command:
    $ java utils.t3dbping URL user password DB driver_class driver_URL
    I get error :
Connecting to WebLogic with the WebLogic JDBC Driver
Can't connect with the WebLogic JDBC driver:
    System.loadLibrary threw java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
with the message 'no weblogicoci36 in java.library.path'.
    Server StackTrace:
    <not available>]
Could anyone please tell me what java.library.path is and where should I
    find
    weblogicoci36.
    Thanks
    Vishwajeet Lohakarey

java.library.path is Java System variable for seting directories where will java look out for native library modules (DLLs on NT). It is normally unset because DLLs are serached by standard NT algorithm (PATH variable, System dir) too.
weblogicoci36 is native module name of WL JDBC driver for Oracle that Java&NT couldn't find. Coresponding DLL file is in your c:\weblogic\bin\oci815_8 directory.
Problem could be in that if WL is started as NT Service,
    a) PATH variable must be set for System not for User and
    b) this setting don't take effect until NT restart.

  • About the Oracle License for Oracle Dataguard

    hi,
I have purchased Oracle 10gR2 EE for my primary setup.
And i need to install Oracle 10g R2 Dataguard (Physical Standby), So wheather i need to purchase a serparate license for the same.
I have heard that in Oracle 11gR2 Active data guard that License in required?
    with regards
    A.Aravind

From the Software Investment Guide - see last sentence
Standby – In this method, one or more copies of a primary database are
maintained on a standby server(s). The sites in a standby configuration may be
dispersed geographically and are connected by Oracle Net Services. As the
primary database is modified, log information generated by the changes are
sent to the standby database(s) and subsequently applied to the standby
database. If the primary database fails, a standby database can be activated to
be the new primary database. Solutions like Oracle Data Guard (included with
Oracle Database EE) or customer-generated scripts can be used. In this
environment, both the primary and the standby databases must be fully
licensed. Additionally, the same metric must be used to license both
    databases.

  • Licensing for Oracle Secure Backup Cloud Module

My company is looking at moving from our internal tape backup to Oracle (Cloud) Database Backup.  We have questions about costs for licensing the Oracle Secure Backup Cloud Module.  We have been using Oracle Secure Backup Express Edition and would like to know if there are additional API/License costs for using Oracle Secure Backup Cloud Module in additional to the $33/TB per month cost listed on the Oracle Cloud Database Backup page at https://cloud.oracle.com/database_backup?tabID=1394421701419.
We have spoken with 6 different sales and technical reps at Oracle and at Oracle Cloud and none have been able to provide a clear answer for this question.  We have been directed to this forum, by the staff at Oracle Cloud.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about this tape not appearing to the OS, some other OS related documentation would help you there. This may be due to the fact that this is a removable disk storage device, rather than actual tape.
However I have checked the OSB tape support matrix and this device is not listed, so this is not supported for use with OSB.
    Thanks

  • License for oracle

    hi guys
    Good Question.
if i download the oracle 10g enterprise version from oracle website. Can i use that enterprise version as commercial by getting a license from oracle? or oracle will send us a license product.
what is the deference between free download and license version?

They are right, not only that, if you purchase license, you also get metalink access only through which you can online assistance, raising TAR etc.
There are different license policies, per user license and per processor license.
Also they have term license which you can use for one year, two year like that with Oracle's support in case of problems. Otherwise, they wont help you out in any manner, unless its purchased. For full information on those license and term license information pls look into the following urls:
