  • Nedd to configure apache-bea weblogic plugin for apache2 on solaris 10

    Hi,
I have an apache server and a bea weblogic application server. For security reasons, I wold like to configure a bea plugin on the apache server to redirect the client http/https requests from the apache2 server to bea application server.
I have gone through the bea documentation and configure my apache2 httpd.conf as follows
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_20.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost myweblogic.server.com
    WebLogicPort 7001
    MatchExpression *.jsp
    </IfModule>
    <Location /weblogic>
    WebLogicHost myweblogic.server.com
    WebLogicPort 7001
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    PathTrim /weblogic
    </Location>
Then Restarted the apache2 and tryied to acces bea application through http://myweblogic.server.com/weblogic/
    and http://myweblogic.server.com/something.jsp
    It did not work
    httpd is started propery.
Any help would be highly apreciated
    Many Thanks

The Web server plug-ins do not natively support outbound SSL connections
yet(i.e. SSL from the plug-in to WebLogic). This is a feature for version
6.0. You can use SSL from the browser to Apache or from the browser to
    WebLogic directly.
The majority of our customers use strict firewall rules to protect the
traffic between Apache and WebLogic. If they are paranoid, they use an SSL
    proxy or a VPN product.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I want to know how to connect Apache 1.3.12 with mod_ssl to BEA WebLogic5.1.0 on Solaris via HTTPS. I have heard that this can only work over t3...
is that true? If so, how can it be done securely? If that isn't the case,
how can httpd.conf/weblogic.conf be configured on the Apache server to talk
to the WebLogic server on port 7002? Both of the machines I am using are
running Solaris 7 with necessary patches. I have installed SP5 for WebLogic
and I have copied mod_wl.so and mod_wl_ssl.o to the Apache server for
    inclusion as modules.

The two servers communicate correctly over HTTP, but I want to be able toserve some JSPs via HTTPS from the WebLogic server through the Apache web
server. I have generated all the required CA and server certificates for
each server, and they both individually answer HTTPS requests, but do not
work when an HTTPS request is sent to the Apache server for a JSP that is
served from the WebLogic server. I read somewhere in the documentation for
5.1.0 that WebLogic will communicate via HTTPS to various web and proxy
    servers.

  • Weblogic plugin for eclipse not working...

    Hi All:
I recently downloaded the weblogic plugin (1.1.1) for eclipse from here: http://dev2dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/wlplugin.jsp.
I followed the installation steps as laid out in the readme file, but I am not
seeing the 'WebLogic' option in the 'Window' -> 'Customize Perspective...' ->
    'Other' node.
I have tried with both eclipse 2.1.3 and 3.0.0 on windows 2k, with the same result.
I know I am missing something here 'coz reading posts from this group it appears
people are using it fairly successfully.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Sanjeev

Two issues with the BEA Weblogic/Eclipse plugin:
    1. The documentation hasn't been updated (readme.html). It still says 1.1.0 even though the current version is 1.1.1.
    2. Assuming that the readme.html still applies to version 1.1.1, the language pack of the plugin is missing. The instructions say to copy the language pack (com.bea.eclipse.weblogic.nl1_1.1.0) to the Eclipse plugins directory. But this folder is not in the plugin zip file. Is this supposed to be downloaded separately?
In any case, the plugin isn't registering in Eclipse 2.1. I can only guess that it's because the language pack is missing. It looks like others are having problems as well.
    Any word on this?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Intermittent problem with weblogic plugin for Apache

    Env: hpux11, wls 4.5.2 w/sp1, apache 1.3.12.1
I am using Apache as the proxy for servlets. Apache serves all static content html/gifs.
The servlet request is forwarded to weblogic, and the servlet forwards the request to a jsp which responds with html output. Using IE 5, sometimes the images and html show up properly, other times the html code/tags is displayed. Using Netscape, the page does not display at all when the error occurs, otherwise it displays fine.
The problem occurs when refreshing the same page.
The errant display is HTML code/tags like:

  • Unwanted stack trace in weblogic.log for thrown JSP Exceptions

We are throwing a JSP exception within a custom tag when data validation
errors occur; the errorPage for the JSP page is then invoked to show the
appropriate errors. However, in the weblogic.log, a stack trace is shown
indicating the exception (example below). We do not want this stack track
shown unless there is a real "error" in our system vs. invoking the
errorPage to show "application" errors. Is there any way to supress this,
as we are not explicitly causing this to happen. It appears to be a
weblogic feature. This causes us problems in finding true system errors
that might be occurring due to these non-problems showing up in the
              weblogic.log.
              Thanks for the help.

The design of the data entry pages is such that the error page is the same
page as the data entry page, and a validation JSP tag validates the data and
if it finds a problem, it will set some variables and throw a JSP exception
to redisplay the page. Unfortunately, we are forced to live with this
design. Are you aware of any mechanism to suppress the automatic logging of
thrown JSP exceptions in the weblogic log?
              Thanks,

  • Weblogic Plugin For Win NT

Is there windows NT version of WEBLOGIC Plugin? If so where can we get the details about the product?

A plugin for which product (i.e., IIS, NES/iPlanet, or Apache)? The answer is yes for IIS and
    NES/iPlanaet but no for Apache.

    Max,
I am also receiving a license exception with eclipse v3.0 and the wl plugin v1.1.1.
I tried moving the license.bea file to various locations including the eclipse/plugins folder where the wlpu lives - nothing seems to work.
    Have you made any progress?
    Let me know, thx.

  • WebLogic plugin for eclipse 3.2

I have installed WLS 9.2 and eclipse 3.2 and I am trying to start the weblogic from within eclipse.
I pretty much followed everything written. I can start the weblogic outside of eclipse ok.
I have reached the stage where after right-click-ing to start the server, am getting the following error response.
    Any advice would be appreciated
    Cheers

    Should be something like
    - extract the plugin into the plugins directory
    - restart eclipse
    - create a clean project (to prevent artefacts)
    - rightclick the project, select from the menu team->share project
    - choose the VSS option and point it to your VSS server
    - team->update
    - team -> check out on the file you need to change
    - team -> check in after modification

  • Looking for a non-Weblogic plugin

I would like to use the plugin to also proxy to a Windows 2K server running
IIS. I have used the Weblogic plugin for this function and have validated
that it works properly but have a preference of doing this in a vendor
    supported fashion.
Does anyone know of either source code for plugins and/or a open-source
    offering?
