Weblogic RMI -- detecting the server address?

          Hello,
          Is there any way for an Weblogic RMI client to detect to which server it is connecting
          in a clustered environment?
          I have two WLS6.0sp1 servers and several RMI clients written with JFC/Swing.
          I'd like to write the server address in a client's log files.
          Regards,
          shun

    Thanks to cor-el for the suggestion given in the link. Sadly I have to report:
    1) It is not a bookmark problem and it makes no difference whether I put
    www.adobe.com or 192.150.18.117 in the address bar.
    2) Cookies are allowed and there are no exceptions set
    3) All cookies have been deleted
    4) network.http.sendRefererHeader is already set to 2
    That deals with the items in the linked document.
    Additional information:
    5) I can get into the adobe site from a clean "in memory" installation of PuppyLinux using Seamonkey using the same router and dhcp setup.
    6) un-installing all Mozilla products - rebooting and re-installing makes no difference even when I remove the mozilla folder from docs&settings.
    so as I said in previous post (as annonymous) not a lot makes sense.
    Bear in mind that I have no problem running tracert in a command window

  • How can I edit iCal server addresses in Mountain Lion? I keep getting an error with regards to my google calendar and I understand that the way to fix the problem is adjust the server address, but I cannot access it because the preferences are restrictive

    How can I edit iCal server addresses in Mountain Lion?
    I keep getting an error message with my google calendar, and I heard that if I delete the extra slash at the end of the address the problem will be fixed. But the iCal account preferences take me to system preferences > accounts every time I want to edit the account.
    Does anyone know where I can edit the server address?

    You should ask in the iCloud forum, this is for iMacs. https://discussions.apple.com/community/icloud/icloud_on_my_mac

    How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
    With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • What/where is the "server address" for the My Cloud NAS?

    I recently purchased a 2TB My Cloud NAS to store my FLAC music files (many thousands of them). I'm trying to use JRiver as a media controller but I can't find a path to the files. I'm using a Macbook Air (osx 10.10.4). The controller program asks for a "server address" and I have no idea what it is or where I may find an address. The music files are in the Public folder and there is no other identiification for it as far as I know. One forum suggested the following link : http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2686/~/how-to-map-a-wd-network-drive-on-a-mac This link offers several suggestions for a server address, but they are for My Book units and of course they don't work. Where, or how do I get a server address for my files on a My Cloud unit? I'm lost. I would appreciate any help. Thank you for your time.     Bill

    Welcome to the Community.
    In most cases, the Server Address is the current path that leads to the devices and/or shared folders. This means the IP address of your unit or your device name, and depending on your system, the exact location to the share with your data. You can obtain the current IP address used by your WD My Cloud in your router and also in your NAS's admin page.

  • Where is the server address and port stored that is configured in NI License Manager?

    Hi,
      I am trying to configure a silent installation of LabView.  I have tried the specfile and put in the license code etc..  I cannot see a place there to configure a license server address.
    I've run NI License Manager on a reference PC and have configured one there but how can I deploy that config to a number of PCs?  How is it stored and where is it stored?
    thanks
    Paul

    Last question (I promise)
    If I dont have a volume license how do I determine what my 'package' or 'family' is?
    Package
    Syntax: nilmUtil.exe -activate "packagename version"
    Example: nilmUtil.exe -activate "LabVIEW_PDSM_PKG 8.0500"
    Family
    Syntax: nilmUtil.exe -family "family"
    Example: nilmUtil.exe -family "LabVIEW_ADE_080600"

    Hi,
    if you click the "Control" tab for the ATGProductionDS datasource in the Weblogic console does it show the State as running?
    Does the "Monitoring" tab for the datasource show the State as running? If you click on the "Testing" tab can you test the datasource successfully?
    If you inspect the Server using the Weblogic console there is a link "View JNDI Tree" If you click the link do you see the datasource listed in the left pane?
    Do you see any errors for the ATGProductionDS in the Weblogic server log and out log files?

              Your CLASSPATH must include $WL_HOME/classes to startup as:
              java weblogic.Admin t3://localhost:<port> SHUTDOWN <USERNAME> <PASSWORD>
              Note here protocol is t3. Brian

  • How the client to detect  the server has closed the socket?

    if the server closed the socket by an unnormal way, for example, closing the socket compulsively. Then the client will show the "IOException:java.net.SocketException: Connection reset" message,
    how the client to avoid such an error message to the user/customer, I mean , what the client can deal with such a message?
    where to put the dealing code?
    try{ int receivedLength=in.read(receivedBytes);
    }catch(SocketException e){
    // put the code here? }
    catch(IOException e){
    }

    Do you know how to prove it---"a socket read should
    always always always have a timeout";As ejp said (IMHO ...) it's his opinion and doesn't need proof. I respect his opinion, but I often write code that doesn't set this.
    Instead I use 2 threads per connection, and don't care if the read thread goes to sleep, since I can still write. If you only have one thread per connection, you better ensure that the read will end in a relatively short amount of time, even if your partner decides it's time to go for lunch.
    how the length of this timeout will be? That is a business decision, it all depends on the expected time between received messages and is application dependent.
    is it a field of the socket?If you are using blocking mode sockets you set this with setSoTimeout. If you are using non blocking mode NIO you specify it on the select call, although the soTimeout should also work there, although I've never tried that.

  • Detecting the server url dynamically

    I am finding it difficult to get url of the server dynamically
    I am getting it through java script using window.location.host
    is it possible using java

    Hi,
    The solution depends on the specific WL version you are using, but chances are you should be looking at the constructor of the implementation of the service provider for your specific WS. There is usually a default constructor, and a constructor that takes an URI, this second one is the one you should use to set the URI to something different than the default URI.

  • RMI: constructing the server side class (Compute Engine)

    I took the Sun RMI tutorial, which was very beneficial. However the understanding now of the RMI interface
    from the tutorial has me to come with two new questions. When building your ComputeEngine class (inheriting from Compute which inherits from Remote) do you need to encapsulate the static main function inside ? If not how does
    the ComputeEngine process continue without a run function ?
    Let say on of the overriding functions in ComputeEngine is:
    void doThis(Task t) throws IOExcpetion() {
    MyTask mytask = (MyTask) t;
    t.execute();
    MyTask is a subclass of Task that has been already preinstalled. When the remote client calls the doThis function
    how does mytask get the de-serialized data from the client ? Does this function need to do anything to retreive the serialized data ? Also when t.execute is implemented has the Task thread started already ? Do I have to call t.start() ? And how does the execute function survive without being in the run function ?
    Thanks Michael

    do you need to encapsulate the static main function inside ? If not how does
    the ComputeEngine process continue without a run function ?The main() function can be anywhere in your application.
    Does this function need to do anything to retreive the serialized data ?No. It just arrives in the method as a parameter.
    Also when t.execute is implemented has the Task thread started already?Probably not. It's in whatever state it is in when it's deserialized.
    Do I have to call t.start() ?See above.
    And how does the execute function survive without being in the run function ?I can't answer the question without knowing anything about the Task class you are using.

  • When I try to connect to wireless internet, I get Error-105, "Unable to resolve the server's DNS address". I've tried everything from resetting including a full software update and nothing has fixed it. What should I do?

    I've tried resetting the router, resetting my airport on my laptop, unplugging the router, restarting my computer, updating all my software (including from snow leopard to mountain lion) replacing the dns ip address, and restarting the browsers. It won't let me use wi-fi on any of the browsers (chrome, firefox, safari), but will allow me to use internet through the ethernet cable.
    This happened earlier today when for my job I tried to clear some expired certificates and I removed the expired ones that were on my firefox (I now use chrome) and the internet crashed soon afterwards. While I was deleting the certificates, I also got the "blue screen of death" sort of thing that popped up and shut my computer down.
    I have no idea what to do and my laptop is no longer under warranty. Can anybody help me?

    Please read this whole message and be sure you understand all of it before doing anything. Back up all data before making changes to your settings.
    Write down the server addresses.
    Click Cancel to close the Advanced sheet. Unlock the preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Open the DNS tab again and change the server addresses to the following:
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
    That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself.
    2. I’m not advocating Google or anything else as a DNS provider; the server addresses are offerred merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

  • Lion Server: How do I import into the central address book?

    Hello
    I could successfully import addresses into the local address book of my Mac Mini (using the import function of the address book application).
    However, I want the addresses to be in the central, shared address book of the Lion Server. I can't find a way to import there.
    Does anyone have an idea?
    Thanks! Martin

    Never mind, I figured it out: Open the local addresses, select all, drag/drop to the desktop. Then open the server address book and drag/drop from the desktop.
