WebLogic Server installation Crashing with a fatal error - SIGSEGV

Hello WLS Gurus,
I am in the process of installing Discoverer 11 and I am facing problems with launching wls1036_generic.jar installer.
I have installed installed Java 7 as follows:
cd /u02/appldisc/11.1.1/Middleware
tar -xvzf jdk-7u25-linux-x64.tar.gz
JAVA_HOME=/u02/appldisc/11.1.1/Middleware/jdk1.7.0_25
I then excuted:
$JAVA_HOME/bin/java -Xmx1024m -jar wls1036_generic.jar
and the installer crashed with this error output:
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:

See
“Generic WebLogic Server Installer generates a Crash immediately after opening GUI on ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 Library (Doc ID 1570688.1)” which states that
“ This is an issue with AVX support appearing on newer hardware. Default glibc is incompatible with it. This problem happens due to a Red Hat Bug: Segmentation fault in dynamic loader on AVX enabled CPU “
Solution:
1. Set the following Environment Property on your active Shell.
  - open a bash terminal and type in:
$ export LD_BIND_NOW=1
2. Re-Run the installer as bellow example.
  $JAVA_HOME/bin ./java -jar wls1036_generic.jar

  • Weblogic Server 10.3.3.0 fatal error

    Hi,
I am installing weblogic server 10.3.3.0 on IBM AIX 6.1. After i except the default location (/u01/app/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3) for Weblogic Server and Oracle Coherence (/u01/app/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3) i get this error msg.
*"A fatal error has occurred. This application will terminate."*
It's a generic error msg and Metalink doesn't have any notes regarding this. Has anyone seen this issue before?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Shawn

I get the same error msg when i try to install 10.3.2.0. I know that is clearly mentioned in the note for upgrading OEM GC 10g to 11g but i thought this version might have some bugs so i tried to install the most latest one.
Unfortunately they don't have many notes on Weblogic Server installation and issues.

  • "problem with shortcut/fatal error during installation" on other user accts

I-tunes installed and works with no problem in original user, but when another user account attempts to open Itunes, program attempts to install/configure again, then results in a "problem with shortcut / fatal error during installation" message. Setting the other users to administrators doesn't help, nor does un-installing/re-installing, etc. I am at least the 4th person with this problem (see Burthomp earlier today,Jan. 17 and Richard 1018 on Dec. 29). This problem started with Itunes 7.5, and is still a problem on Itunes 7.6. I have a standard Dell setup, Model E510. There must be a lot of people with this problem. Apple, are you working on this? Anyone else have a suggestion?

I ran into the same problem, but I think I have the solution. First, the problem isn't with iTunes, its an access problem with Windows XP. I tried to run the iTunes program from the Program Files, and I received an "Access Denied" error.
If you try to open the Program Files in My Computer\Local Disk(C:) and receive an "Access Denied" Error, that is why you are receiving a "shortcut problem/Fatal Error during installation".
Here is how I corrected it:
    1) Shut down the computer and restart it in "safe mode". I had to look up how to do this, but I pressed F8 when it was restarting and I highlighted the "safe mode" and started the machine. The icons will be large, but ignore it.
    2) Open a user that has administrative access -- I used the one user that has access to itunes.
    3) Go to My Computer\Local Disk (C:) and right click on the "Program Files" folder. Select "properties" at the bottom.
    4) Go to the Security Tab
    5) At the top you should see one or two users that have access to the Programs File. One will be the user that itunes works on. Click Add, then click Advanced, then click Find Now.
    6) At the bottom should appear a list of users. Select a user on which itunes doesn't work. Click Ok, then click OK again.
    7) Give that user full access to the Program File by putting a check mark in the Full Access box.
    8) Repeat for the remaining users.
    9) Restart computer in normal mode.
    10) Go into a user that had problems and click the itunes icon, and it should run.
It worked for me, I hope it works for you.

  • Which Weblogic server installation do I need??

I need to download and install Oracle 11g Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.2.0) for Windows 7 Professional. On its main page, Oracle says that I have to download and install Weblogic Server before I can install Forms 11g. When I go to Weblogic Server download page, I see two versions: The package installer (815 MB), and the net installer (40 MB). Which one of them do I need for my purpose? Also, do I need something else (other than the database ofcourse and the Weblogic Server) to download and install before putting Forms 11g?
    Thanks

When I go to Weblogic Server download page, I see two versions: The package installer (815 MB), and the net installer (40 MB)?
Both Installer will do the same thing....You can choose any one of them
*"Package Installer":* It's Size will be always much more than the Net-Installer....If you want to Once download the Installer in your PC and then want to run it in separate Boxes again & Again where u may not have Internet connectivity ...then you need to choose "Package Installer". When you run the Package installer, you can also select the specific product components you want to install, thereby also enabling you to minimize the installation footprint.
Downloading the Package installer is recommended if you want to perform multiple WebLogic Server installations at your site. In a typical scenario, you download the Package installer only once, then make it available to each machine on which you wish to have the product installed. (You can run the installer from each machine directly over the local network, or copy the installer onto each machine and run it.)
*"Net Installer":* If you want to install the WebLogic and donot want the Installer keeo with you for future use...This is good. It has 40 MB size ...because this 40MB installer will start Downloading rest of the part of the complete installer from the Oracle N/W on the fly. Unlike the Net installer, the Package installer does not provide for any reduction in download time or the amount of disk space required for the installation files.
    Thanks

  • CC 2014, the installation fails by the fatal error exit number: 7

Hey guys. Since 24 days Im trying to update my Cloud to the CC 2014 but when starting with PS, the installation fails by the fatal error exit number: 7. Whats to do?

Well John, first of all, thank you very much for helping me.
Yesterday I tried something, by deinstalling the Cloud App and PS, but still the same error remained.
What I also don't understand is the term: Reinstalling the product. Is it meant, to deinstall every app, just the Cloud app or only the app where the error occupies?
By Reinstalling I also understand: Uninstall the app and the install it again. Is this correct?
I am surprised anyway. Once everything is fine and then within one day, nothing runs anymore. I read about, using a disc clean app as Clean My Mac 2 can destroy the structure of adobe products some how... but hmmm... this sounds very strange.

  • Start multiple domains simultaneously on 1 Weblogic server installation?

Is it okay to start and run multiple domains simultaneously. Better yet, when having multiple domains on 1 WLS server, should each domain have a different port number in order to be run simultaneously?
Here's my scenario - I installed Oracle Business Intellgence, which by default installs and configures WLS server for certain Business Intelligence applications (BI Publisher). This instance was running fine and good and still is.
Then I had another application, Oracle Data Integrator, which has a Console piece that requires a domain on WLS. So instead of modifying the existing domain for Oracle Business Intelligence, I created a new domain via the Configuration Wizard and selected those components for Oracle Data Integrator.
    therefore current domains:
...\domains\bifoundation_domain --> installed automatically as part of Oracle Business Intelligence
    ...\domains\odi11g --> I created this domain after I
Now I have 2 domains under 1 WLS Server (windows 7 64bit), but if I startWeblogic.cmd for the bifoundation_domain, and I startWeblogic.cmd for the odi11g...then only the components for the bifoundation_domain become available via the WLS Console.
    Questions:
    - Can I run both domains simultaneously?
    - Should I have modified the bifoundation_domain to include Oracle Data Integrator component; therefore only having 1 domain but having everything run under that domain?
    - Does the Port for each domain matter? both bifounddation_domain and odi11g domain use ports 7001
Are there any other considerations? Thanks much.

    Hi,
It is perfectly OK to run multiple domains on a single Weblogic server installation. Only constraint would be you have enough capacity available on your server to start multiple instances.
Things to note is, if your domain1 is running on listen address : port { localhost : 7001 } then your other domain should be configured on a different port say {localhost : 8001 }. If you want both domain to run on same port then go for virtual IP's to be plumbed on your physical network interface and configure as,
    domain1 - { ip1 : 7001 }
    domain2 - { ip2 : 7001 }
this way you will can access both domain admin console on same port.
Remember, Weblogic resources cannot be shared between domain, however a single nodemanager will be enough to monitor both the domains.
    * rank it if answer is helpful :) *
    Thanks,
    Ranjan

  • ITunes won't connect to iTunes Store with my Apple ID and repeatedly crashes with "An unknown error occurred (-50)."

I've been unable to use iTunes for over 3 weeks now.
Initially, it would prompt me to Sign In with my Apple ID and password each time it tried to start, and when I clicked Sign In, it'd respond with variations of:
"Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance."
        or
        De-authorize/Authorize.
Frustrated, I'd click Cancel, and it'd crash with:
        "An unknown error occurred (-1008)."
        or
        "An unknown error occurred (-50)."
More recently, I don't even get the Sign In prompt any more. iTunes now just crashes immediately with unknown error (-50) as soon as it tries to start.
It is clear that this issue has more to do with the Apple ID than with iTunes specifically, because some of the apps I purchased directly from the App Store (OmniFocus, Fantastical and Forismatic) now prompt me to Sign In with my Apple ID and password each time they try to start, and they never did before. And when I try to sign, they respond with the error:
"Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance."
Apparently, this is an issue a whole lot of people are experiencing, judging by the long list of Google search returns on the subject; but I'm yet to find a definitive, "official" Apple solution to the problem.
My Apple ID is the same as it's always been.
If anyone knows what's really causing this and/or can offer a fix, please H-E-E-E-L-P? I'll even pay to make it go away. I abandoned Windows after 26 years, only to discover that no platform is spared the blackhole of unknown errors.

  • Weblogic Server 8.1 with SP6

Currently we are running with BEA Weblogic server 8.1 with service pack upgraded to SP6 lately. I heard that it will require the upgrades of Oracle database to V 9.2.0.4. Is this required? I am wondering if we need to workout this upgrade to our db. Thanks.

I saw that the documentation mentioned Oracle9i RAC (for Oracle 9.2.0.4) supported in SP6. Does it mean those other lower versions are not supported?

  • What is going on with the FATAL error message????

What is going on with the FATAL error message????

Same issue, since last night. Can't sign in to iTunes, download apps, or updates to apps on any device. I have iPhone 4S, iPad mini, MacBook Pro. East coast, writing this at 1:21pm EST. Changing password doesn't work. I can't log in with my iCloud address either. I have however noticed at least that if  I enter the wrong password, I just get the incorrect password message. Using the right password gets the FATAL:: message every time.
I have my devices set to UK for the region even though I am in the US. Though that might have something to do with it so I switched to US- no change, same problem.
I agree that acknowledgement via their system status would be appropriate. Irritating that they are not at least publicly acknowledging there is a problem. I would feel much less concerned if I knew that they were aware and working on it. Can't find a support number anywhere but I did send a brief message via their help/contact page.

  • IPad Air crashes with low memory error in Google Translate Web Site

My new iPad Air crashes with low memory error every time I try to use my Phrasebook in Google Translate Web site. This is rather disapointing considering that my old Nexus 10, that iPad Air is supposed to replace, works flawlessly in Google Translate Web site. Perhaps this has to do with the rather limited RAM (1GB) that iPad Air is equippoed with.
I would appreciate any recommendation, Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If no other weblogic serverss installed on that machine, then you could delete the registry key corresponding to the old installation.
It seems you are using windows.
click start button-->Run-->type 'regedit' without quotes and then search for the key weblogic and delete that key.
*Please make sure you will have a backup of registry keys.
presee CTRL + F and type weblogic and click next and find a key smiliar to this below.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\BEA Products
select the BEA Products folder lefthandside and delete that.
remove BEA products shortcut from start menu and reboot your machine once and then try installing weblogic server.
    Thanks

  • 64bit weblogic server installation on windows

    Hi,
We are trying to install 64bit Oracle weblogic Server 10.3.2 on windows 2007 Server. As per the documentation, The installation requires 64bit java installation and then execute the wl_1032_server.jar file.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Thanks,
You are right and I've found a documentation below. Did you checked your Environment Variables or try to use full path of 64 bit Java installation?
How do I select between 32 and 64-bit operation? What's the default? The options -d32 and -d64 have been added to the Java launcher to specify whether the program is to be run in a 32 or 64-bit environment. On Solaris these correspond to the ILP32 and LP64 data models, respectively. Since Solaris has both a 32 and 64-bit J2SE implementation contained within the same installation of Java, you can specify either version. If neither -d32 nor -d64 is specified, the default is to run in a 32-bit environment.
Other Java commands (javac, javadoc, etc.) will rarely need to be executed in a 64-bit environment. However, the -d32/-d64 options may be passed to these commands and then on to the Java launcher using the established -J prefix option (eg: -J-d64).
All other platforms (Windows and Linux) contain separate 32 and 64-bit installation packages. If both packages are installed on a system, you select one or the other by adding the appropriate "bin" directory to your path. For consistency, the Java implementations on Linux accept the -d64 option.

  • Weblogic Server 6.1 with MS Windows 2000 Cluster

    Hello everybody,
    following situation:
We want to implement a Microsoft Cluster (Failover) with MS Cluster Service and
2 nodes (maybe later we try the Weblogic Software clustering with load balancing
as a part of an documentum and infotehna DMS). On both nodes we made the same
test installation of the Weblogic Server 6.1 and started it with services (instead
    of cmd-file).
It's working fine seperate on every node, than we started to implement the MSCS
on these machines and only one node is working. On the other node (after a failover
to this node) the service started but break down only a few seconds later.
Now, my question is: Can we use the Weblogic Server 6.1 in an Windows 2000 Advanced
Server Failover Cluster with 2 nodes? Or do we need a special Add-on to do this???
    Best regards,
    Ronny

    Ronny,
I'm don't know the specifics of MS Cluster Service but given that it works like
other common HA frameworks (assumption on my part) you may need to use the MS
cluster framework in isolation from the 'software-based' clustering approach that
WLS 6.x currently provides. For example, in other HA Frameworks there is typically
a heartbeat mechanism that informs the framework that a node is dead and the framework
in turn calls scripts that migrate the failed node 'applications' over to the
healthy node. In WLS, you could mimic the same approach where a single admin
server fails over to a backup server not using the WLS 'software' admin/mgd server
cluster value-add. In others words, you would need to script a heartbeat mechanism
for the single WLS server and also script failover to a backup node when the heartbeat
indicates 'failure'. This technique would be used in isolation (not using the
    current WLS software-based cluster configuration).
