Weblogic Server version with ADF runtime
Expert,
May I know which the latest version of Weblogic Server can support ADF runtime? Thanks!
Rgds!
No, there is no support for 12c jet. You have to wait for this till next year. There will be at least one more 11.1.1.x and 11.1.2.x version before we get 12c with ADF support.
I'll try to keep the list up to date (which it is right now).

Jdeveloper version and ADF runtime on weblogic
Hi
I would need to understand the link between the jdeveloper version and the Weblogic version.
Based on this article http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/jdeveloper-versions-vs-weblogic-server-versions/
it sounds like the server version to use is directly linked to the version of ADF used for the development. It is true?
Specially is it true that there is not backward compatibility. A new weblogic server would not support a application that would have been developed with a older version of jdeveloper?
At the end I would like to get all my weblogic servers on the same version and as much possible on the newest version but if I need to rework the applications that were developed on a previous version of ADF , that can be really time consuming.
I would need best practice ideas .
When I have various projects oven a two -three years period how should we deal with keeping up with the new versions of weblogic and jdeveloper?
An another question I have is regarding the ADF run time. What is so special about it comparing to a regular set of libraries?. Why can I not deploy it as part of my application? Or is it possible and it is a better path then?
FInal point, I have a application that was developed with jdeveloper 11.1.1.0 and run on weblogic 10.3.0.0 . I would like to migrate to jdeveloper 11.1.1.4. I already converted the project with jdeveloper 11.1.1.4. What should I do next? What testing should I do to verfy the conversion worked? Should I update the weblogic server to 10.3.4 or can I go with a newer version like 10.3.5?
ThanksOk but then if you don't migrate and you are in a environment with also new development you are going to need many different servers no?
One welogic server for jdevleoper 11.1.0.0
One weblogic server for jdeveloper 11.1.2.0
One weblogic server for jdeveloper 11.1.3.0
One weblogic server for jdeveloper 11.1.4.0
How often should you migrate then because if you don't update you could be very behind after a couple of years and may be the migration could be almost impossible at that point.
We still have applications that where developed for oc4j 10 g and migration is almost rewrite at this point. (only after 3 years).
At the end, you get servers dedicated to some applications instead of having a stack of multi purpose servers.
Also let say you are starting with a project that is going to take two years, you start the developement with jdeveloper 11.1.5.0 and in two years it will jdeveloper 13.1.1.0. How do you manage this? You stay with 11.1.5.0?
We noticed that getting support for 10 g is really difficult at this point. Many people don't know anymore about 10 g and you don't get bug fix. If you don't get bug fix, how can you survive with your old version?
I know that ADF is not only about the face part, I 've been using the business services too but under ADF it is J2EE and then why ADF does not come as a set of libraries that you can link to in your J2EE project instead of becoming a server centric runtime?
People went to J2EE to get plateform independent, with ADF you are becoming server dependant. ADF is supposed to do better than .net but if you look at .net the IDE actually support old and new frameworks. If you get to develop on a older framework you can still use the new IDE. Also you can install several versions of the framework on the same server with .net.
From what I can read ADF is not even supported on JBOSS anymore so give me argument to choose ADF as a enterprise solution? Is it really the future? -
Does Weblogic 12.1.2 come with ADF Runtime 12.1.2?
Cross posting my question from the general section:
I would like to know if WLS 12.1.2 already comes with ADF Runtime 12.1.2.
In another words, if I install a standalone production WLS 12.1.2, can I deploy and run an ADF application developed with JDeveloper 12c?
https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2559377I'm leaning towards no as the standard "WLS" install folder doubled in size upon installing ADF Runtime.

Find my WebLogic Server version ?
Iam very new to Oracle..I wsh to install the Oracle11g Forms & reports.... as I know, to install the Oracle11g Forms & reports I need to install the weblogic server....
My clarifications are following....
01). I have a desktop pc with higher configuration...Is it possible to install ?
02). If it's possible means, I downloaded for forms & Reports installation file ..... win_11.1.2.1.0_32_disk1 file
But does anybody can provide me the appropriate Weblogic Server version for that?.....
ThanksHi,
It will depend on the OS version, JDK version used. Also might differ based on system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
For Oracle 11g forms & reports (11.1.2.1.0) on Windows 7 with 32-bit, Oracle weblogic server 10.3.6+ will work.
Refer to - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-111210certmatrix-1886127.xls for the correct version.

flex/sdk/trunk/modules/asc/src/java/macromedia/asc/util/APIVersions.javaSorry to dig this out, but i just ran exactly into the same problem using a 7600GT. Reverting the appropriate libraries to 9.2.4 lead to a segfault in Compiz, deleting the libvdpau_nouveau files, however worked perfectly - thanks cro for the hint. But I guess, this is not a permanent solution, is there a better way to fix it? Maybe a bug report mentioning the problem would be of some use?

OC4J 11 with ADF Runtime does not start.
When starting OC4J 11 I get this error.
Error initializing server: Shared library "oracle.fabric.runtime" could not be found.
Fatal error: server exiting
I downloaded OC4J 11 (11.1.1.0.0) Standalone.
Then I was running "ADF Runtime Installer" in JDeveloper 11 Preview 2 (11.1.1.0.0).
In this version the ADF Business Components is 11.1.1.46.84
Oracle IDE is 11.1.1.0.20.46.84
Then I got the Shared library "oracle.fabric.runtime" could not be found - error.
Then I tried to do it manually and
I extracted oc4j_11110_preview
Then I copied the BC4J from JDeveloper to OC4J and added the library in application.xml.
<library path="../../../BC4J/lib" />
<library path="../lib" />
Then I started OC4J with no problem.
I downloaded the “StoreFront”-project that from Oracle.
I created a EAR-file in JDev from the StoreFrontModule.
Then I deploy it to the OC4J
java -jar admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:localhost oc4jadmin password -deploy -file E:\Projekt\FusionStoreFrontDemo\StoreFrontModule\StorefrontUI\deploy\FOD-webapp.ear -deploymentName FOD -bindAllWebApps
One warning: VARNING: JSF1033: Resource injection is DISABLED
Then when I Tried to go to the webb-app at address (http://localhost:8888/StoreFront/ ) I got this error
ERROR MDS-01331 Failed loading document "null".
Im working with Windows XP for both JDeveloper and OC4J.
How do I get any application with ADF to work in OC4J??
Help me!!
/TobbeThats funny. I use a start-script where I added
SET JVM_ARGS=-XX:MaxPermSize=256m
But that was never used by the OC4J command.
Anyway. Now it works much better. Thanks. But sadly I got to next error but I might put in a new Thread.
