Weblogic managed instance started in "admin" mode.
Hi,
I tried to startup a managed instance for my cluster and it was started in "admin" mode and not "running" mode. I am using WLS 9.2.
Saw some error messages in the weblogic logs related to Database. Could it be the reason for that?
Thanks.
Vincent

WSM Managed server starts in ADMIN Mode after upgrade to 11.1.1.7
We have just upgraded our 11g SOA Cluster environment from 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.1.7. The issue is after the upgrade, our WSM servers are starting to ADMIN state with following error.

Our cluster environment has one Admin Server, and two of each OSB, WSM and SOA managed servers. As our WSM servers are not coming up, we are not able to start our SOA servers too.
Thank YouSame issue here :-)), Just playing around with policies configuration, the server was running just fine, I wanted to check if the policies are applicable during runtime even the WSM managed server is down. After restart, it started in ADMIN mode, well the solution is straight. It is exactly telling that the dms application is missing the jstl library reference

So search for "jstl" within the weblogic console in search bar, it is type of library, click on it and target it to the managed server where OWSM is running as weel. It was root cause in my case, somehow the library was not targeted to our WLS_WMS1 managed server. Now the server is back in RUNNING mode. Of course apply this in case of problem with SOA servers, target it to the cluster or exact nodes and it should work.
Still I don't know how the issue has been crated, I don't think that somebody removed it from deployment. Rather I think that somebody was applying patch or some artifacts to OSB or SOA managed server and this library was required as well, but as soon as we have separated WSM cluster, it was maybe assuming that it is running within OSB or SOA clusters and therefore didn't target the WSM cluster automatically. But this is just the idea :-))

OIM_SERVER1 starting in Admin Mode
Guys,
Following Tasks(to upgrade Oracle Identity Manager from 9.x to 11g) from upgrade guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/upgrade.1111/e10129/upgrade_oim.htm#CACIBHHJ) has been completed succesfully:-
•Task 1: Identify and Prepare Oracle Database for Oracle Identity Manager 11g (Optional)
•Task 2: Use the Repository Creation Utility to Create the Schema in the Database
•Task 3: Install Oracle Fusion Middleware
•Task 4: Use Upgrade Assistant to Upgrade the Oracle Identity Manager Schema
•Task 5: Create a WebLogic Domain for Oracle Identity Manager
•Task 6: Start the WebLogic Administration Server
•Task 7: Configure Oracle Identity Manager Server 11g
•Task 8: Configure Node Manager to Start Managed Servers
•Task 9: Start the SOA Managed Server
In the below Task10 while starting OIM server, OIM_SERVER1 is starting in Admin mode ( i guess it should come in running mode).

Weblogic starting in production mode LINUX x86
I am having a problem when creating a new weblogic 10.3.3 domain. I created this domain in development mode yet when i try and start the domain the admin server always starts in Production mode?
Does anyone know why this is happening as i've check the weblogic console and it shows that the domain is set to development. Below is the message recieved on start up of the admin server:
<Warning> <Management> <BEA-141274> <Production mode has specified at the command line via the weblogic.ProductionModeEnabled system property. This system property overrides the development mode setting contained in config.xml. However, the console and WLST show the attribute values and defaults that correspond to the development mode specified in config.xml.>
Thanks for your help in advance.I have the same problem during the start of Oracle Identity Manager 11G...Admin Server and Managed Server on different machines...

Launching application in admin mode for standard users from start/menu
hi
i am currently working on an application which runs fine for admin users but for standard users it ask for admin user name and password. creating shim is not working. what will be the other option so that application can be run for standard users without
asking admin credentials?
thanks allhi i am developing this application and we are deploying silently to some user's machine. Also i tried to use ACT and shim it as "Run as admin","Run as involker","Run as highest"but nothing works so far. so dont know which option to use. Any registry capture
would be good? or can i know how to apply shim?
I am following the route like
1) create the shim.
2) install application
3) run as standard user. or 1) install application 2) install shim 3) run as standard user.
Nothing works....
Thanks all -
Launch Captivate 8 in admin mode for mac
When using Captivate 7 on a PC, I received the tip to just run Captivate in Administrator mode. Does that also apply to Captivate 8? If so, how do I do it with a Mac (with a PC, I would just right-click) or is it even necessary?
HI There,
Yes,You need sufficient Admin Rights to run Captivate. Normally on Mac the user does have sufficient admin rights. To check this you may have to contact Apple support.

Errors starting Portal Admin Server after configuring RDBMS Security Store.
Hi,
I'm using WLST to build and configure the portal domain. I've already had our DBA run all the necessary scripts on the Database.
We are using WLP 10.3 on RHEL 4 and Oracle 10G RAC. I read on some thread that RDBMS is only compatble with verion 10.3.2 but why is the feature in 10.3?
The error below seems to point to the URL; does this mean that the RDBMS config does not support RAC databases?
Hope someone can shed light on this as it's pretty urgent.
Many thanks

Secondly, both managed server are starting in ADMIN mode because some of the libraries aren't getting deployed. Think this is due to clashes in the Implementation-Version. I get the errors below (loads of the libraries - approx a third but I just pasted this for brevity) although after starting them with nodemanager and they go into ADMIN mode, I can always click on resume which then starts them up. Any idea why this is the case?
Many, many, thanks!

Common weblogic start/stop script
Hi,
We have Weblogic 8.1 on Solaris 8. We have lot of domains in the user_projects. Instead of shutting down and starting up each domain everytime. I would like to have a common weblogic start and stop script for all the domains. so that when I execute the script all the weblogic instances in each domain should be stopped or started up automatically.
I think lot of people would have implemented this. I appreciate if someone can help me in achieving this.
Thanks,
VaniIn /etc/rc3.d (all the files in this script are executed at the time of server boot) you can keep a script called S99weblogic and add below line that file,
#!/bin/ksh
su - wladmin -c "/etc/init.d/start_weblogic.sh start"
and in /etc/init.d you can write script start_weblogic.sh, as below
#!/bin/ksh
case "$1" in
'start')
# for admin server
if [ -f <init log path>/startadmin.log ]
then
print -n "\t\n\n deleting <init log path>/startadmin.log\n\n"
/usr/xpg4/bin/rm -rf <init log path>/startadmin.log
fi
### like above do for manged servers logs also ( if you have different script formats for admin and managed servers) and startadmin.log contains paths to all the admin server scripts)
# boot logs when the instances are started which will contains error while the instances are started
if [ -f init log path/boot.err.log ]
then
print -n "\t\n\n deleting init log path/boot.err.log\n\n"
/usr/xpg4/bin/rm -rf init log path/boot.err.log
#contians the list of domains in your physical or virtual server
if [ -f init log path/domain_list.log ]
then
print -n "\t\n\n deleting init log path/domain_list.log\n\n"
/usr/xpg4/bin/rm -rf init log path/domain_list.log
#list all domain names in domain_list.log
#use below command to find all the domians scripts home, for weblogic 8 in ur physical server
# for weblogic 8
ls -d <path to user projects untill scripts home>/* > inint log path/domain_list.log
#if ur domain are scattered then append other domains also -for weblogic 9.x, 10.x.........
ls -d <path to user projects untill scripts home>/*/bin >> initn log path/domain_list.log

Adobe Flash only works when I run Firefox in Admin Mode
As the title says, I need to run Firefox in admin mode each time for Adobe Flash to work.
When I do not run it in admin mode, and I visit say Youtube, the box where the flash player should appear flickers and just does not load. The HTML5 version eventually loads instead.
When I visit the adobe flash test page it does not work either. Only when I run in admin mode it works fine.
Problem is I do not want to run Firefox in Admin mode for security reasons each time I use the browser. I have tried reinstalling mozilla, disabling all plugins/extensions, reinstalling adobe flash several times.
I DO NOT have this problem when using Google Chrome.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Kind Regards,
SkanzaHi skanza,
Did you try to reset firefox as explained in the following howto [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems here] ? -

Thx in advance for any reply.Hello Djam,
Please review the following:
The FMW WebLogic Server (WLS) installation has been configured to use a non-default Java temporary files directory,
i.e. the following has been set in the WebLogic startup or setDomainEnv.sh script:
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES="-Djava.io.tmpdir=/appl/oracle/temp_java_files ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}"
Reference: How to Change the WebLogic Server Location for Temporary Files (Doc ID 1336002.1)
When the Middleware home was restored the directory specified by java.io.tmpdir parameter was missing,
Therefore an IOException occurred when opening the wallet and WLS was unable to initialize the OPSS successfully.
To resolve the issue re-create the directory specified by the java.io.tmp dir parameter, and make sure the owner and group access are the same as for the FMW installation.
Unable Start AdminServer: JPS-01050: Opening of wallet based credential store failed. Reason java.io.IOException (Doc ID 1923395.1)

Hello,
I have deployed a weblogic server on one of my company servers and i do not want to start and stop the admin server everytime i log in. Also, I have adf libraires installed along with the weblogic server. I created a windows service by running the installSvc.cmd file located at => C:\oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin . Before running the installSvc.cmd command i edited the file by adding the following lines =>

set USERDOMAIN_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain
set SERVER_NAME=AdminServer
set WLS_USER=weblogic
set WLS_PW=welcome1
set PRODUCTION_MODE=true
After i install this service i go to servoces and start this service.
Now the issue i run into is that when i go to the admin console i see some of the adf libraries STATUS as "failed" and even when i deploy an adf app the status is failed. This doesnt hapen when i start the admin server from the gui mode by going to Start > user projects > base domain > start admin server or by starting the server from the command line with the command startWeblogic.cmd . How do i create a service so that i dont hv to start the server everytime when i log in to my server(box) which has the weblogic server .
I am in a tight deadline and any help will be greatly appreciated! What errors are the libraries getting?
Is the classpath the same between the service case and the start from menu case? Look at the server stdout or at the logs and the classpath system property? -
Every time I start iTunes I get the message: "iTunes exec has been set to run in compatability mode for an older version of Windows. Turn off compatability mode for iTunes before you open it." How do I turn off the compatability mode? Particularly when I have to do it before I turn on iTunes.
Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):
