Weblogic to stop licensing by IP

Weblogic is finally listening to its customers by removing license keys and
          binding them to IP addresses. You can now create as many instances or even
          change the servers IP address without having to fill out paperwork.

I'm confused by this message. There are no plans to currently change the
          way we handle our licensing.
          Where did you get this information? I would like to get to the bottom of
          it.

Hi and sorry,
But i can't understand the Oracle WebLogic 10.3 license.
One client has Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.2.0.5.0 License with Performance And Tuning Packs for all databases. We need to upgrade to Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g, the question is: do we need a license for Oracle WebLogic 10.3 or not, for installing Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g?

You can create a none technical Service Request and Oracle will tell you the details or whom to contact with.

Stopped, license check failed

Hi, after use NW about 2 month, now the proccess jcontrol.exe is stopped, in he status appear the error: "Stopped, license check failed". If i restar the computer, work, but only about one hour... What happend?

Follow these steps..
To generate the license key you need to follow this procedure.
Find out the hardware key of your instance.
For this go to the visual admin----
> licensing adapter
Visual admin has to be accessed from this path \usr\sap\SID\JCxx\j2ee\admin and run go.bat
You should also have a S-user ID to generate the license.
Go to service.sap.com/licensekey
Give the required credentials.
Then supply the required details like SID, hostname, Database etc..
You will get a license file after some time.
Then again go to Visual admin----
> licensing adapter
upload the license file, and the licensse will be applied.
revert back if you have any queries.
Do reward points if useful.

Help: Install "WebLogic Express Server" license

I am having problem to install my "WebLogic Express Server" license.
As I understand, the "WebLogic Server" and "WebLogic Express Server" use the same
installation file, the only difference is the license. So I downloaded the "WebLogic
Server 6.0 Service Pack 2" from BEA's web site. After the installation, I found
a "license.bea" file under WebLogic home directory. I replaced this file with
my license file for "WebLogic Express Server". Unfortunately, I can not start
the default server anymore.
Neither the "UpdateLicense" command works: it seems to me that it only merges/replaces
the existing license with the new one. So although I "updated" the "WebLogic Server"
license to "WebLogic Express Server" license using this command, it seems that
I am still using the "WebLogic Server", because I can still see the EJB component
page in the admin console.
Did I miss something? What is the best way to check whether "WebLogic Express
Server" has been sucessfully installed? Your help is highly appreciated!

Problem set up IP in win2k to use weblogic 6.0 license

We try to install the weblogic6.0 on win2k as a stand alone developing server--
that means no connection to ANY network.. The ip is set up through network property
to comply the one specified in the license file. However, when ipconfigING, it
says "network cable disconnected" and no ip address is bind to the network card.
As a result, the wls won't even start because it sees no ip. Can someone help
me with this?-- how to setup weblogic 6.0 as a stand alone server on win2k with
a ip-limited license. All the help will be appreciated.

You can get around this by installing an MS Loopback adaptor (using the Add/Remove
hardware wizard) and then giving it a dummy IP such as 192.168.0.1.

expiry date
units (means users)

I started to run the Weblogic Server on my machine yesterday and I suddenly got
this error:
"License Expired, Please Contact BEA Systems Inc"
This is the message I got on the Visual Age Console:
"Invalid BEA WLS Integration Kit License. Please cantact BEA"
I was able to run Weblogic Server until the past 2 weeks. I tried to re-install
the whole Visual Age 3.5
and as well as the Integration Kit I download from the Weblogic website and I
still get the same
problem. Can somebody help me with this. I haven't upgraded to 3.5.3 yet.

The Kit available from the BEA website is an evaluation version. You need to
contact BEA Sales for a permanent license.

Update Weblogic Server Beta license

I got the beta version of Weblogic Server 7.0 CD from BEA. I did the installation and downloaded the license file from bea website. I updated the license by executing "updatelicense.cmd license_wls70.bea" and I started the weblogic Server. But it is giving me error message for "No such license: Weblogi Server 7.0"
What shall I do to start the Server???

WebLogic 10.3 license file

There is no license.bea, UpdateLicense.cmd or UpdateLicense.sh in the BEA_HOME directory of WebLogic 10.3 (on Windows and Solaris SPARC). Does this mean that a license file is no longer needed?

This statement should be clear enough. I took it from the elicense portal, which is no longer necessary, as restrictions are removed from new products, and free keys to old products.

Oracle weblogic 10.3 license information

We have purchased Oracle weblogic 10.3 from a vendor and have installed by the application team. I need to confirm how can i check the license information (information reg no.of users etc) after installation of the product in the windows server 2008. Is there is any log file which will have license details??

Oracle has removed the licensing which is bound to IP addresses long before itself.
From WebLogic Server 10.3 and higher, no license file (no license.bea) is required by Oracle. However, you should deploy the product only in environments which are bounded to your license. That is you should see that if you bought license for 8 cores, you are deploying it only in a 8 core environment and not more.

Weblogic 4.5 license issue

The license file which we used in weblogic 4.5 does not work properly
under firewall. It does work fine if without firewall, five
simultaneous user can connect in. BUT, if under firewall, even one
user will got license issue if he runs for one day or two. We guess
firewall may confused weblogic about the client ip addresses.
Any help or suggestion are highly helpful!!

Common weblogic start/stop script

Hi,
We have Weblogic 8.1 on Solaris 8. We have lot of domains in the user_projects. Instead of shutting down and starting up each domain everytime. I would like to have a common weblogic start and stop script for all the domains. so that when I execute the script all the weblogic instances in each domain should be stopped or started up automatically.
I think lot of people would have implemented this. I appreciate if someone can help me in achieving this.

In /etc/rc3.d (all the files in this script are executed at the time of server boot) you can keep a script called S99weblogic and add below line that file,

Weblogic Scale Limited License Questions

Hi,
Is a scale_limited license for SP2 compatible with SP3?
Also, the scale limited license "enables you to run a single WebLogic Server instance with a server capacity limited to approximately 3 percent of the full capacity of a production server."
How is the "full capacity of a production server" measured? Is it relative to the machine on which WL is being run, or measured against some "standard" value?

Weblogic Basic confusing license description

Hello,
We are planning to migrate our Forms & Reports 6i C/S to Forms 11g on top of Weblogic Server.
I was told that the most basic Weblogic license that we can use for that purpose is Weblogic Server Basic.
What I need to know is: will the Basic license allow us to deploy PL/SQL-based SOA web services that are currently running under Oracle iAS 10g Java Edition ?
Sorry if it sounds trivial for you, I'm just not deeply familiar with all web-related terms.

I suppose you could say that Weblogic Server Basic is included in the Forms/Reports license.
What I was asking is if we could deploy web services that currently run under iAS 10g Java Edition to the Weblogic Basic installation.
