Webmaster

I use wifi at work and can connect my iphone as well as my ipad. However, when acessing the News24-app from my iphone, a disturbing message pops up: "ERROR:Forbidden       While trying to retrieve the URL….   Access Denied. Your cache administrator is webmaster."
I can access it with no problem on my ipad.
When I switch on cellular data, I can access the site on my iphone.
Any ideas?

Hey Roddy,
Thanks for helping.
Yep, sitemap.xml is there, status is "OK", created with Rage Automator.
Just to be clear domain is addon domain (www.mydomain.com), and folder of this domain is in /public_htm/mydomain/. Sitemap for this domain is in the same folder.
One more strange thing is that this morning number of indexed page has droped from 5 to 0, and i did an update of sitemap.xml last nigt becouse of new pages that went online. I checked in Dashcode and sitemap looks ok.
When i type www.mydomain.com in google search same results are there like yesterday so something is indexed for sure.
About your question and placing sitemap.xlm in correct folder, isn't the fact that if the google allready indexed 5 pages from my sitemap means that it is in correct place, or this has nothing to do with it, like google crawled the site without knowing about sitemap.xml but still did crawl it ?

Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

  • Flex 3 & Google Webmaster Tools' Keywords

    Hi,
I've got a Flex 3 website. Unfortunately, Google Webmaster Tools lists zero keywords for my site. My site's been up for about a month. I submitted a sitemap. I've put a description and keywords metatags in the HTML wrapper.
Any advise on what else I should do?
Does anyone have a Flex 3 site for which Google Webmaster Tools lists keywords?
    Thank you.
    -Laxmidi

On my site, all Google does is extract "keywords" from the page title for Webmaster Tools. So, I only end up with two keywords! The page ranking uses the keywords you put into the META tags, and I get good results with page ranking. AFAIK, they are not the same thing. Try using desired keywords in the page title, but don't go overboard or they will penalize you.

  • Firefox takes forever -- sometimes never gets -- to my website. Chrome and Konqueror get to it instantly. My webmaster/ISP has no idea why this is happening.

I'm using SuSE Linux 12.3 and Firefox v 29 for SuSE.
About 80+% of the time Firefox will take minutes to get to my personal website. Often it never gets to the site and Firefox just stops (the progress wheel in upper left corner stops turning).
I can get to my website almost instantly every time using Chromium or Konqueror, but not with Firefox.
Other websites are occasionally slow, but I understand that could be attributed to lots of people trying to access the site at the same time. But not in this case -- I'm the only person on the Internet trying to get to my site and Firefox just doesn't want to cooperate.
I have tried clearing the cache and browser history -- all the usual stuff -- but it has not fixed the problem. Interestingly, and sort of counter-intuitively, after clearing the above I will get to my website very quickly the first time I try Firefox. But within a few minutes it's back to the same problem.
I have spent considerable time trying to trouble shoot this with my webmaster who also hosts my website. He is very well versed in Linux and the Internet, but this has him stumped. Why just Firefox and why just my website?
Also, I **can** get to my website very quickly using my Android cell phone, but not on my desktop computer. With the computer it's like watching paint dry..... slow, slow, slow.....
    Any thoughts? Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Webmaster tools change of address 301 redirect failed using domain forward

I'm having trouble with webmaster tools recognising our domain name change.
We've recently updated website and done a name change from www.qldtshirt.com.au to www.qtco.com.au. I am using domain forwarding so qldtshirt.com.au forwards to qtco.com.au (aswell has with www.) and every thing works perfectly.
    www.qldtshirt.com.au/products/polo-shirts/cool-dry-fabric forwards to:
    http://www.qtco.com.au/products/clothing/polo-shirts/cool-dry-fabric
We have about 4000 301 redirects setup in URL Redirects:
    /products/business-and-corporate/desk-and-office/100-organic-cotton-pencil-case to
    /products/gifts-incentives/desk-and-office/100-organic-cotton-pencil-case
    so on and so on....
I've verified all sites in webmaster tools however when change of address from www.qldtshirt.com.au to www.qtco.com.au webmaster tools presents this error:
"301 redirect failed. We detect that the root address of your old site (www.qldtshirt.com.au) does not yet redirect to the root address of your new site (www.qtco.com.au). For more information use the Fetch as Google tool."
It works perfectly fine for the end user, anyone know why and how to fix please?

Hi, I have found this same situation.  Did you have any luck finding a solution?
    Thank you

  • Iweb and webmaster

    Hi All,
I registered my iweb site (www.muskoga.ca) with google webmaster and everything is fine. The sitemap is up, 6 pages are submitted to be indexed etc. It's been about 24 hours now though and i have no information in my dashboard and when i search for muskoga.ca in google my site doesn't come up. Has google just not crawled my site yet or am i doing something wrong?
    thanks!

    how long does it take??
For a first time : probably 2 weeks. Maybe longer.
For an active website : from minutes to a few hours.
And if you're a smart webmaster : advertise with a clickable link :
    http://www.muskoga.ca
Google indexes this forum in realtime. It will find your link and start indexing it.
When I publish a new page in this forum, Google indexes it within hours.

  • Forum Registration - Webmaster

Webmaster FYI - When signing up and registering for this forum a few minutes ago, I thought the Webmaster should know that the choice of 'creating your own own question' does not work.  Someone should check on this for future users and correct this.  I would have liked to create my own as my son and I will both use this forum from time to time and he may not know the answer I used.
    Anyway ... just FYI.

  • Webmaster: How to stop unwanted forum emails - Attn: Webmaster

    Dear Webmaster,
I started a discussion on your adobe forum on Oct 4, 2010 5:53 PM titled  Unable to open PDF file in browser using Reader 9 with IE8 in Adobe Reader at URL http://forums.adobe.com/thread/733688?tstart=0.  Since then, I have received only two responses to the discussion which did not help and am receiving hundreds of emails a day from threads of other discussions that are annoying and clog up my email system as unwanted SPAM.  I went to you service note cpsid_52111 titled Disabling email notifications from Adobe Forums and the information did not resemble/apply to the reference screens that I pulled up on my computer.  I did check a block to notify me via email of any responses but did not realize that I would receive responses to all forum questions/discssions.
I want to either eliminate my account and/or disable emails being sent to my email address.  My screen name in adobe is rudy2d44.  Please help me on this request and I promise I will never use your forums again!
I have found no person in your entire Customer Support organization that could help me and I talked to three people with one referring me to this screen for help.  You must have changed your screens after you wrote the CPSID_52211 and there is no way to disable your forum system from sending me the emails

Thank you for your help.  So far, so good....no more annoying Adobe emails!  It musta worked.  The web site graphics helped tremendously.  And thanks for the advice.

  • Anyone know how to contact the webmaster?

I have been advised by an expert on another forum that it would be a good idea to advise the webmaster what happened: recently I found myself pre-signed in as someone else, and it looks like it happened on the day this other person joined/registered here.

    Go to this forum -
Using Apple Support Communities: Apple Support Communities
    - and repost the issue there.
That forum is intended just for questions/problems/issues of that kind.

  • Webmaster e-mail addre

Well you turn your back for just 3 months and they give you a spiffy new forum. Hooray for e-mail notifications!
Anyway I was wondering if there's a way to e-mail the webmaster of Creative's site. The European one has an incorrect list of cards (AFAIK anyway) in the support section, which confuses people looking for drivers. I can't see a webmaster contact anywhere on the site?

Hi Jason - it's the product list on the driver downloads page (and support e-mail form). Having gone to the UK site, and reading the message underneath the downloads:
"Are you getting the most accurate information? For resources and information tailored to your region, be sure to visit the Creative website that serves your area. Choose your country now."
... you'd think you'd get a list containing only the cards that were actually released in the UK. However the Audigy section lists things like the Gamer and MP3+ - IIRC the American releases - and the Digital Entertainment - IIRC the Asian one. The UK version of this product was called the Audigy Player. You're also listing a "Sound Blaster Audigy" - I don't remember any product actually called that though.
Also check the Li've section - the Gamer and MP3+ variants were again American, and the DE Asian. We had the Player 024 and Player 5. (I think...) AFAIK the Platinum releases were the same in each territory.

  • Directions for adding Google Analytics and Verifying Webmaster

If you publish to mobile me:
    Here you go
I have google analytics and webmaster tools now set up on my blog. I used Iweb Buddy to accomplish putting the google analytics on my site. Here are the steps.
I publish my blog to mobile me but have my own domain name. http://decorateagarden.com/
    1. Set up an account at Google
    2. Go to analytics and add your blog
    3. This will give you a UA #
    4. Purchase and install something like Iweb Buddy
    5. Open Iweb Buddy and follow their instructions to add the UA# from google to Iweb Buddy
    6. Process your blog pages from Iweb Buddy as this puts the google analytics code on your blog. Note!, this is not the same thing as publishing you blog from Iweb. This is called processing and is done from Iweb Buddy right on your computer.
    7. Each time you publish an update on your site, you must also process that update on Iweb Buddy. You won't have to process the whole site--just the pages you published.
To get your blog verified for Webmaster tools on Google for Iweb,( you have to be able to access your server and prove you own your Iweb site)
    1. Go to your account at Google
    2. Go to webmaster tools
    3. add your blog
    4. choose upload as html
    5. take the code it gives you---exactly---( I uploaded to a saved document file and removed the
-1 my computer had attached to it and then copy and pasted it before I uploaded that code to my website folder in Idisk)
    6. put it in the sites folder for your site on your Idisk
    7. Go back to google and hit verify
    8. If it doesn't verify on google
    9. you entered the code wrong on Idisk
I actually had to hit verify about 10 times to get it right. I kept entering the code wrong on Idisk but I am new to all this Iweb stuff.
When it verifies, a new page on google loads.
I hope this helps someone. Wishing you all the best with your sites.
If anyone has a good way to index my whole site from my welcome page...I'd sure like to hear it. I mean without adding Google ads.

I'm no longer publishing every page to Iweb buddy. Now that my google analytics code is picked up on my site---I just insert( the google analytics code) it into an html code on any any new pages I create right from Iweb and put it on my sidebar of those new pages and it works when I publish to mobile me. My pages are appearing in my google analytics just fine now on analytics. My site is appearing in Google search as it should.
