WebOS 1.4.5.1 roll-out requests!

I'm starting a polite, yet direct, thread for Verizon to roll-out WebOS 1.4.5.1 for the Pre Plus users. I love my phone, and actually like my Verizon service. I just want access to the new games and apps that are now available for the new PDK. Once again, Please roll-out the new update soon Verizon.
Thanks.

Casonia,
Is Verizon actively working towards providing this update to their users?
Hope this gets answerd with a yes or no!

  • Sales org roll out doubt

    Dear Peers,
My scenario:  CRM roll out for DE.
first CRM was implmented in US and the rollout is for DE. In R3 customer no:10 has assigned to 4 diff sales org included US and DE. Now i started the Initial load for the DE customers from R3 to CRM and the error i got is SYSFAIL and the detail is "Customer 10 is already assigned to a Business partner" and BUPA_MW_EXCHANGE103.
in filter settings R3AC1 i am maintinaing KNVV and KNVP tables.
my question is if do initial load for roll out , only aditional information i.e. Sales org details can be updated for the already existing customer in CRM?
i.e.in my scenario the customer 10 is already in CRM now only the DE sales org has to update for the customer 10. in future if we go for rollout of another country that sales org details has to be updated to the existing CRM customer will it be possible?
    Thanks,
    K

    Hi,
Normally we only do Initial download once when we set up the system for the first time. after that all changes should be downloaded automatically needless of the sales org.
Now I would recommend to do a request download instead of an initial download, since updates for that customer will be updated automatically for each rollout scenario if the customer is already there. if the customer is not there it would create a customer and updates the sales org details as well.
Don't know if i answer your question correctly.
    Hopeit helps.

  • Roll Out Brazil

    Hello FI Gurus:
My customer is a Global Organization who is expecting to initiate a Roll Out in Brazil. The Corporate is using now a Global Chart of Account as operational Chart of account. Now the people in Brazil is requesting to have its own Chart Of Account, according them for legal requirements. Does somebody had a similar situation? Can we handle the alternate account number for the reporting statement and  all electronic files (SPED) required by the government?
    Thanks
    Jose

    Hi Jose,
yes, You need to create Country chart of accounts for brazil and assign them in alternative chart of accounts.

  • Roll in and roll out

    hai
what is rollin and rollout ?
          what is saint update?

    Hi,
When users request for  connection to the sap server, all the requests are put in a queue by the dispatcher. When the dispatcher finds a free workprocess, the user request is assigned to that work process on FIFO basis. Data input provided by the user are transfered to the memory area of the workprocess. The work process communicates with the database as per the requirement of the user querry and picks data from the database into its memory area and inturn returns it to the user.
When the user terminates the connection the work process attached to it flushes its memory area and becomes free again to be assigned to another user request. This flow of data into the memory of the workprocess and flushing of data from the memory of the work process is known as roll-in and roll-out.We can say the rollin takes place at the begining of a user request and rollout takes place on termination of the same.
    SAINT update:
saint update means applying a patch to enhance the functions of saint. This becomes necessary to accomodate the newer attributes of the new add-on support packages. Saint is mainly used for add-on tools.
    Hope this clarifies your querry.
Pls dont forget to award points if solved.

  • Versioning and parallel development streams for worldwide SAP roll-out

    Hi SDN folks,
My customer is in the process of a worldwide roll-out of SAP. They have a transport environment for ECC that looks like this:
      D  -
    >    QA  -
    >  R   -
    >   P
We have SAP Charm installed and running in solution manager - to manage the creation of transports in the D system.
The problem we are facing is how to manage parallel development changes and configuration changes.
For example - if we have developers working on a change that is in test in the QA environment - and we hit a production emergency in P - we then need to make an emergency change to the P version (which would only be available in P and R) - and transport this change through to P - in the process - overwriting the changes that our developers are working on in the D and QA environments.
We also have the issue of objects for multiple countries being developed and configured in parallel - and so there will be version conflicts up the to the QA system as well.
Is there any kind of solution for the management of parallel development streams  - and versioning - for all custom code / development objects and for configuration changes(other than introducing a second development system)?
Is there any kind of 3rd party product for SAP that helps to solve this issue?
Currently we are considering development freezes, manually renaming objects with versioning identifiers (will only work for some objects), manual backups of versions. - none of these seem to be a tidy universal solution, is there one?
Any help / directions you can offer will be appreciated,
    many thanks,
    Julian

    Hi Julian,
    Thanks for the clarification!
Managing production support and new development after go live is always a challenge.  It can be addressed in many ways, but it is most important to create a set of rules and stick to the procedure.  If you do not want a "second" landscape, you are going to have objects "overwritten" in the D and Q systems when you need to make a production fix -- as you must revert the object in D to the P version to make the fix.  Even with a second landscape, objects will have to be merged somehow when a fix is promoted to production.
As I said above, what you can do is have your developers save their current development in released transports before making the production fix.  This saves a version that must be merged with the fix, anyway.  That is:
Object A is the produciton version and must be fixed.
Object A' is the current development version (unfinished) and is saved into a released transport request.
In D, Object A' is reverted to the A version and corrected for the production error, creating object A'' that is promoted to production.
Object A' and A'' are manually "merged" into A''' as the new current development version.
Yes, objects are overwritten with this method.  However, you can always retrieve what has been overwritten since it has been saved in a released transport.
Another option is to bypass Q for production fixes.  I.e. D -> R -> P.  However, this invalidates the objects in Q until the merged version is created in D and transported to Q.
In any method you choose to do this -- dual development landscapes or not -- discipline and managment are a must.
    Best Regards,
    Matt

  • BT Infinity roll out plans under BD UK banner

    Hi,
Looking for a bit of advice or thoughts from the forum for the following question, excuse the rambling nature of the question.
BT have won the contract to deliver faster broadband in rural Gloucestershire and Herefordshire which now goes under the title of Fastershire.    The web site created states that its not possible to state when exchanges will be enabled for a variety of reasons so as consumers we simply have to wait to be told when.
However I assume as part of being awarded the contract and being able to state that 90% of properties would be completed by 2016 that a plan must exist with an approximate order in which exchanges will be enabled as part of the contracting process.
Do you think it ought to be possible or fair to request, in this case to know where my exchange. Tirley,  would be in the planned schedule for example first 10% ,   last 10% in the middle.
I have poor broadband speed due to the distance from the exchange and cannot easily work from home and if we are at the back of the queue I would look to make alternative provision moving away from BT (wireless options exsit but need a 2 year commitment and multiple subscribers in the locality)  until the rollout reaches the area.
    Appreciate any thoughts
    Simon
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi simon5705,
Openreach have been awarded the contact to install, rollout and manage the fibre infrastructure to Herefordshire and Gloucestershire between 2013 and the end of 2016.
The scheme has been set-up by Herefordshire Council and Gloucestershire County Council in partnership with BTplc (Openreach) to extend the rollout on-top of the "Superfast-Openreach" Commercial fibre broadband rollout.
As it is being rolled out, done and managed by Openreach as well being managed by Herefordshire Council and Gloucestershire County Council, BT Retail (a communication provider/ISP whom operates this forum) does not have much say as to when and if you will be able to get fibre broadband (FTTC or FTTP or equivalent) as that is up-to Openreach, Herefordshire Council and Gloucestershire County Council.
Looking at the fastershire FAQs here ( http://www.fastershire.com/questions-and-answers ) it states
" Fibre broadband is being rolled out across both Herefordshire and Gloucestershire between 2013 and the end of 2016. From summer 2013 you will be able to check maps on this website to see which phase of delivery your area is in, and you will also be able to put your postcode into our postcode checker to see if you can get it yet. This will also tell you which telephone exchange area you fall within. "
Also as it's a local council scheme you will need to contact them for information.
The contact email is [email protected] though they may not have finalised the plans yet.
    Hope that helps,
    Cheers

    HI FRNDS, HOW R U

    what is mean of EDI,ALE,IDOCs&BAPI.
what is the difference of these things& what is the use of these things

    Hi
Roll out- Same client is having business in different countries.Instead of customizing again for the countries, we can copy the customizing from the parent country and configure all related to the country specific settings.
EDI-Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is about doing business and carrying out transactions with your trading partners electronically. EDI covers most things that are traditionally done using paper-based communication.
ALE-ALE is SAP proprietary technology that enables data communications between two or more SAP R/3 systems and/or R/3 and external systems. When a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution such as R/3 is implemented, companies have to interface the ERP system with legacy systems or other ERP systems.
ALE provides intelligent mechanisms where by clients can achieve integration as well as distribution of applications and data.
ALE technology facilitates rapid application prototyping and application interface development, thus reducing implementation time.
The ALE components are inherently integrated with SAP applications and are robust, leading to a highly reliable system.
ALE comes with application distribution/integration scenarios as well as a set of tools, programs, data definitions, and methodologies that you can easily configure to get an interface up and running.
BAPI -BAPIs provide a stable, standardized method for third-party applications and components to integrate into the Business Framework. These interfaces are being specified as part of SAP's initiative with customers, partners and leading standards organizations. Also, SAP has implemented the emerging Object Application Group (OAG) specifications with BAPIs.
IDOC-IDoc (for intermediate document) is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system. IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions: each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database. Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.
    Assgn points if useful.

  • Will current HD DVRs have ext. drive capability when 1.9 rolls out or ONLY the new 500 GB DVR box?

Got the email about the $40 upgrade to the 500 GB Motorola box.  I realize that once 1.9 is FINALLY rolled out, the box will have eSATA capability to tack on a supplemental HD.  My question is, can I just not pay their $40 for the new box and instead wait until 1.9 is rolled out, and then be able to use the currently useless USB port on my current silver Motorola 160 GB HD box to hook up a 1TB drive that I can get for less than the $40 upgrade fee?
Are they are any OTHER advantages to the new box over the existing ones (feature and capability wise...I don't care about recycled materials, less energy usage, etc)?

All the 7xxx series DVRs will support an external drive.  There are no plans to utilize the USB port - too slow to support MRDVR.
The 7232 has more memory (not just the disk) and is smaller, black, and supposed to use less energy (I know you said you don't care, but I mention it anyway).

  • Rolling out ADE to Open Access Computers in libraries

(In the UK). In Plymouth we are using Secure Electronic Delivery as the default to deliver access to documents provided by the British Library. Internet Explorer 7 (and this is also known with Firefox and other browsers) causes an ebook reader detection error as part of the downloading process "Downloading this eBook requires Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader version 2.2 or later to be installed on your computer" (even though all our computers are on Reader 7.0.9). The page then provides a link to download the latest version. The problem is that, despite being told to ignore the link and scroll to the 'download your ebooks' link further down the screen, many users are clicking the update link and ending up with Adobe Reader 8 without ADE, or a misfunctioning ADE because they do not have administrator rights, or a screen which hangs and does nothing, or an ADE that will not allow them to print. In open access areas all computers are locked to a standard 'frozen' image which is restored after each log-out. Users, therefore, are unable to save any changes which means that they also have to repeat the steps every time they want to download an SED everytime they log-in. (Yes, because of 'easy activation', we also have to make it clear to these users that it is 'download and then print' or there is no further access to the document, despite a 14day access rule; and no-use of memory sticks too!). We would love to be able to maintain our ability to standardise these computers on the latest version of the Reader software, but are unable to do so because we do not have the manpower to manually install ADE on each computer (over 2,500!) to make it part of the 'locked' image. We know the eBook Reader detection error is most probably caused by the underlying software technology difference between IE7 and Adobe 7 and would hope that installing Adobe Reader 8 and ADE would restore the seamless process that we had long established using the Reader 7 series!
Could not Adobe please consider a means by which, say ADE 1.5, could be packaged and rolled-out centrally? Then also consider doing the same for future releases - it would really make life easier for everyone. If not we will have to remain on Reader 7.0.9 and users will 'suffer' as the technology becomes more and more obsolete, and suffers from more and more problems caused by a widening gap in software technologies. We understand the idea behind the decision to make ADE an IRA (internet rich application) but the growing use of DRM and the need to delivery these documents within closed environments, to people who cannot be given full access permissions, means that there should also be a concurrent method to allow updating in such situations. Our 'problem' rate for SED is beginning to climb (from under 3% (based on 16,000 transactions) before the release of Adobe 8, to 6% afterwards (based on 7,000 transactions). Before the release of 8, 70% of the problems were because people didn't read instructions we provided; after 8's release, 70% of the problems are caused by the technologies (eBook detection; downloading Reader 8 and not ADE; ADE not functioning due to local permissions etc etc). These seriously affect the value of the service and also the perception people have of the service and of Adobe products (eg: the IE7 error states "Adobe eBook Reader not detected" so, even though your product may not be to blame for the users' inability to get to their document, they blame Adobe Reader, especially if they know they have Reader 7 installed!
My apologies for a long post but I consider it an important issue as well as it being important to lay out some of the logic and arguement as to why.
    Graham

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this long and accurate post. We are very much aware of this issue and are working as hard as we can to resolve this. It might not be possible to squeeze it into 1.5, but we will get to it as soon as we possibly can.
Can you submit a support incident at www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions/ so we can try and resolve the immediate problem (incorrect detection and misleading message)? We can also discuss offline how your organization and our can work together to resolve the larger problem. Thanks.

  • BlackBerry 10.2 OS Begins Roll Out

BlackBerry 10.2 OS Begins Roll Out — New Reasons to Love your BlackBerry 10 Smartphone, Big and Smal
    From the Inside BlackBerry blog:
BlackBerry 10.2 OS introduces new features like BlackBerry Priority Hub, BlackBerry Natural Sound, and BBM now in any app that will help you be more productive and stay better connected when it counts. Plus, with hundreds of new refinements, BlackBerry 10.2 makes the things you do every day faster and easier. Here are just some of the new features you’re going to love in BlackBerry 10.2:
    BlackBerry 10.2 Highlights:
    Priority Hub
Keep your important conversations closer than ever with the new Priority Hub. Always at your fingertips, Priority Hub learns what conversations are most important to you and automatically puts those messages at the top of your inbox, helping you to stay focused on the critical items. On top of that, the new attachment view helps you organize files and documents across your messaging accounts and within specific message threads.
    BBM Video with Natural Sound
BBM Video has always allowed you to have a live face-to-face conversation with anyone, anywhere. Now, with Natural Sound, BBM Video and Voice conversations between BlackBerry 10 smartphones sound more natural and realistic. It’s the next best thing to being in the same room. We’re able to accomplish this because BlackBerry Natural Sound captures a wider sound spectrum, so you can hear subtle nuances that are lost in most cellular calls.
Instant Previews of BBM, SMS and Email from any app
Stay in the flow. BBM, SMS and E-mail messages now find you no matter what you are doing on your BlackBerry. See email, BBM and SMS message previews appear in any app – you can even respond to your BBM or SMS messages in any app or go to the BlackBerry Hub with a single swipe to respond to your email. Perfect for keeping the conversation going while you browse the web, watch a video, or use other apps. Of course, you can tailor these notifications to the way you work to ensure you’re only notified as much as you want to be.
    BlackBerry Keyboard
The smartphone keyboard that knows your next move just got even smarter. With personalized next word suggestion, auto-correction, and the distinctive BlackBerry keyboard layout, we’ve built this keyboard to help you have conversations with speed and accuracy. And on the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Z30, improved audio feedback with distinct tones for specific keys like backspace, and shift helps you type more confidently because you’ll have more reassurance you’ve hit the right key.
    Copy and Paste Enhancements
Copy and paste just got easier. Not only does BlackBerry 10.2 offer more precise cursor control, text selection is now easier. Once you select text, a pop up menu gives you editing options and direct sharing with BBM, Facebook and Twitter – so you can quickly copy, paste and share
    Faster, Easier Sharing
BlackBerry 10.2 learns how you share and who you share with, helping you reduce the number of steps and amount of time it takes to get your files, photos, or documents to where they need to go. Touching “share” in any app provides suggestions on who and how to share your files based on how you’ve shared in the past, and the feature only gets smarter the more you use it.
    Lock Screen Notifications
When the red light on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone is flashing, you don’t have to unlock the phone to see your message. Notifications on the lock screen now let you take a peek at the latest email, text, BBM, or notification to see if that’s the message you’ve been waiting for or one that can wait a while. You can customize which accounts appear on the lock screen and scroll over the icons to display the sender and subject line.
    Reply Now
Reply Now lets you respond to incoming phone calls, even when it’s not a good time to answer the phone. Easily send a response through BBM, SMS or email – choose from a list of standard automated responses or respond with a personalized note. Perfect for ensuring that important contacts are always given your attention.
    Calendar Enhancements
BlackBerry Calendar now comes with an ‘I’m running late’ function so you can instantly let meeting participants know if you’ll be late. You can even specify a new time in your notification. And, with a redesigned interface that makes adding an event easier, managing your time is simple.
BlackBerry 10.2 OS gives you a lot of new reasons to love your BlackBerry 10 smartphone, and we haven’t even mentioned the updates to Docs to Go, a new BlackBerry Hub icon, camera enhancements—but the best way to experience all BlackBerry 10.2 has to offer is to try it for yourself. • Issue during Template roll-out during FIT-GAT session

    Hello SD Guru,
Hope you all are doing fine these days...!!!
I am facing a typical challenging situation in my Template roll-out project based out of Europe and would need some expertise advice to tackle the current situation. As a matter of fact, we are using a Development system and landscape is :- DXX --> QXX --> PXX for major Consumer Products and Goods based client, The support team works for any kind of bug fixing and small CR on this landscape i.e DXX, Development for the earlier roll-out exist in the current landscape set-up with template version 1.0. Now since we are having changes in business operating model, we are having template based roll-out in the same landscape and the new template would be version 2.0.
Could anyone suggest what should be the mitigation plan when Support team, Template version 1.0 and Template version 2.0 would be co-existing in the same environment ?
Once the realization of the template version 2 is done and after that we get any specific bugs....where do we need to troubleshoot ? Is it template version 1.0 or template 2.0. The best line of thought could be done in terms of small example...lets say Have a custom program created due to template version 1.0 for creation of Rush order and Consignment sales based on business critical field maintained in a custom table, now due to some requirement gathered during current roll-out and this functionality is extended to include free of change sales with VAT. Hence functionality (sales order create program with custom table) come to template 2.0.
If you have ever come across this kind of situation, please share your inputs or any kind valuable approach would be appreciated...!

  • Roll out of PC suite with SMS 3.0

    Hello,
Our company wants to roll out Nokia PC Suite 6.82.22 thru SMS 3.0.
When we do that the ContentCopier backup is placed in the Default User profile. Rebooting or logging in as another user after install doesn't change that.
When we install the MSI by hand it is placed in the current user profile. When we log in as another user and make a backup it is placed in that users profile (as it should).
I didn't find any properties or custom actions in the MSI and no registry keys or .ini files I could change to change the behaviour of the SMS installation.
I understand the Default User profile is taken because the SMS installation user has no profile but I don't understand why this isn't corrected after a reboot/logon.
Do you have a solution for us? Installation by hand isn't an option anymore after this migration.
    Kind regards,
    Marcel Bruinsma

    Thanks for your reply.
Not yet but before I start spending a lot of time on that I would like a Nokia rep. to tell me if they know about this and if they have a solution.
I can try to repackage the vendor MSI but somehow I don't think this will solve my problem.
I also mailed the message to the Dutch help desk but no sign of life from there until now.Message Edited by zhubajie on 19-Sep-200701:49 PM
