Webpage not displaying content in Firefox?

Hi friends,
Following is the address of the Indian Income Tax Department website:
http://law.incometaxindia.gov.in/DIT/Income-tax-acts.aspx
As you can see, the sections of the Tax Act are listed. The content of each section is displayed in another window. But in Firefox that window is not showing the content. The word "Loading" is shown in the center. But that's not loading.
I have restarted firefox with addons disabled, but the problem is still there. Please tell how can i read sections in firfefox.
Thanks in advance!

Looks that the pages that open a pop-up (openFile) are broken.<br />
I see the same and this also happens with Google Chrome.<br />
It is an iframe that doesn't get a src attribute and thus stays at about:blank and a default loading DIV showing.
Should there be Adobe Reader PDF documents displayed?

  • New user of Firefox. Webpage I made not displaying correctly in Firefox but OK in Win IE. Why is this?

    Im new to Firefox. Just found out the website Im maintaining does not display correctly with Firefox but OK with Win IE. Why is this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    I'm going to make a prediction here:
    The webpage will contain a lot of code written specifically to the non-standards compliant way IE works, and will also "not display correctly" in the following standards compliant browsers:
    Chrome
    Safari
    Opera
    and the solution will be to code the pages according to the standards meant to be followed so it displays correctly in all non-IE browsers, '''then''' see how it displays in IE.

  • Chinese characters are not displayed in the Firefox bookmarks

    Chinese characters are not displayed in the Firefox bookmarks. The name looks like e.g. "??????? ???? cn.nytimes.com"
    Chinese character of the site name is displayed ok in the head of the browser window and there is no problem reading chinese web content. I use Firefox Portable 11 /English from portableapps.com in Windows XP.
    I googled and got some tips:
    1) Set your browser to recognise Chinese language internet sites.
    Windows users: Under "Tools - Options" on your browser's menu-bar add Chinese to the languages list.
    - I did this.
    2) Set your browser's "Character Set" or "Encoding" to UTF-8 (sometimes also called Universal Alphabet or Unicode).
    Encoding settings can be changed under the "View" option in your browser's menu-bar.
    - It was already set to UTF-8.
    3) Windows users: If Chinese text still does not display correctly, East Asian language support may need to be enabled.
    - This has been done when I installed Windows.
    I still don't get any Chinese fonts in the bookmark names. I can edit the bookmark name with chinese characters and then save the bookmark, it works fine. But why does not Firefox recognize the characters when saving bookmarks? Help is appreciated.

    No I didn't change anything deep beneath the hood. My problem didn't apply to the URL, but to the name of the link or bookmark header or whatever you would like to call it. (When hitting Ctrl + D there is a Name field). I only got ???????? instead of chinese characters in the name. Also for e.g. www.cntv.cn ...but maybe all China is not in the whitelist either. ;-) But anyway, this was not the real problem for me.
    Apparently I was wrong as after a reboot of the computer it worked. The solution seemed to be to add Chinese to the language list. I don't know why it was not enough to restart Firefox?
    Now I only have problems to show chinese characters in the name field of my external link manager... But I guess it is not an issue for Mozilla.

  • Certain special characters do not display correctly in Firefox ( font COLOR="#1f1a17" FACE="Symbol" SIZE="3" ¬ /font ). Is there a fix?

    Certain special characters which display correctly in Explorer do not display correctly in Firefox. Example: <font COLOR="#1f1a17" FACE="Symbol" SIZE="3">¬</font>
    Is there a fix?

    The symbol font usually doesn't work in Firefox, a website needs to use an Unicode replacement or an HTML entity to specify such a character.

  • Animation not displaying properly in Firefox

    My animation not displaying properly in Firefox. I have searched this forum and others but am only able to find outdated solutions (such as updating to the latest release of Animate). I am on the most current versions of Animate and Firefox and still having problems. Does anyone know of a solution to this, or can direct me to a discussion that already covers it?
    An interesting thing to note is that only the center tree is acting differently, though the commands for each seem to be the same. Also the small mountains are fine, but not Mt Rainier.

  • WebHelp not displaying content in left nav pane

    Any suggestions for why WebHelp is not displaying contents in
    the left navigation pane? When Help is called, it displays the
    frame (including buttons such as glossary, search, contents, etc)
    and the work area, but does not show the TOC in the left navigation
    pane.
    I have also tried generating FlashHelp, with the same
    results. This time, only the work area displays. Any suggestions to
    fix this?
    This is a new project, where RoboHelp is being deployed for
    the first time. Any suggestions for making this a simpler
    transition would be much appreciated. I have used RoboHelp for many
    years with a different company and do not recall ever running into
    this many problems.
    Help!

    Sorry, I haven't used the CSH method which, by the way, was
    designed to show only the topic at first, I think.
    I give my developers a list of path/filenames for topics, and
    they use this form:
    .../helpdirectory/myproject.htm#targettopic.htm
    There are some shortcomings to this method, which leaves the
    window open and, when you call another topic, another new window
    opens. In other words, you have to close the help window manually
    to avoid windowmania.
    A solution is a little js that checks to see if a window is
    already open, closes it and opens a new one. (If no help window is
    open, it's a harmless js error.) It's fast enough that you wouldn't
    notice.
    The downside here is losing the browser history. Forward and
    back buttons work only so long as the help window stays open.
    In my opinion, this is not a major concern, since many Web
    based applications these days tell users not to use the back
    button. Production users won't mind so much.
    For ordinary people doing e-shopping and online banking, the
    browser back button is anathema.
    The bottom line is, if you have a decent set of navigating
    options built into the design -- TOCs, left or right rail lists,
    useful links at top and/or bottom of the topic page, the back
    button can become superfluous.
    Browe sequences work fine from any point in the lineup (I
    know, it's not the same as browser history -- unless you give them
    a really useful set of sequences).
    The forever-loading left pane is gone in RH 7.
    Hope this is useful.

  • TDF not displaying properly in Firefox 4

    Hi, just an FYI to the TDF team...the web version is not displaying properly in Firefox 4.0.1. The main browser window (for lack of a better description) is slightly off-set maybe 10 - 15 pixels down and to the right. Because of this it covers up some of the TDF navigation tabs.

    In case anyone else runs into this issue, I was able to resolve it by rebuilding those portions of the animation.

    You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
    You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
    *Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
    Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Website not displaying correctly. Firefox is changing the character set to Western (ISO-8859-1) automatically.

    Normally I have set Firefox (or it's set by default) to Character Set Unicode (UTF-8) and everything displays perfectly. I've never had a problem before.
    Now however, whenever I upload my own website, for some bizarre reason on that particular tab (and only that tab) the Character Set is changed over to Western (ISO-8859-1) and then there's a few characters within my site that do not display correctly, namely apostrophes and hypens.
    It definitely isn't my software (Serif WebPlus X4) because the page displays correctly in every other browser. Plus it displays correctly in Firefox if I change the Character set back to Unicode.
    PS The site is a work in progress

    That happens because the server sends a content-type (<b>text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1</b>) via the HTTP response headers and in that case that content type prevails. The page code is saved with an UTF-8 byte order mark () that you see in this case.

  • Some modules and texts on my website are not displaying appropriately on Firefox.

    Hello Firefox forum:
    I have noticed a problem on my website every now and then when I open my website with Firefox. This problem is not evident all the time but 1 out of 3 times, whenever I open my website with Firefox, some of the text and other elements get abnormally super-sized or abnormally small. At first, I thought the problem would heal itself but for months now it has not gone away and it keeps haunting my website.
    The interesting thing here is I have never once seen this problem with any other web browser apart from Firefox. All the other web browsers display contents of my website very well.
    [REMEMBER THAT THE PROBLEM DOES NOT SHOW EVERY TIME YOU VISIT MY WEBSITE WITH FIREFOX. IN ORDER TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, YOU WILL NEED TO KEEP REFRESHING KESSESPAGE.COM OVER AND OVER [ABOUT 5 - 6 TIMES] IN ORDER TO SEE A SAMPLE OF THE PROBLEM. THUS IF IT DOES NOT MANIFEST ITSELF AT THE VERY FIRST TRY. ]

    Thank you,

    A couple times I saw the wording "General stuff" and the associated price display in a large font. Didn't notice any other anomalies right away. I was using NoScript, so possibly some scripts would have led to other changes.

  • Websites not displaying content

    Hello all,
    I've been having issues with browsing on Internet.
    With all my browsers, Chrome, Safari and Firefox, I've got web content that is not displaying and working correctly.
    I think this is due to a Privacy Scan I did a few days ago with the software Privacy Scan. It might have deleted something that helps the computer deal with content on web sites.
    I have a Time Machine back up before I run the Privacy Scan but I don't know what I would need to restore etc. Maybe there is an easier way to install what has been deleted.
    Any help would be welcome.
    Thanks

  • CSS not displaying properly in Firefox

    My new CSS layout looks beautiful in IE7 (weird), however, it
    is not rendering properly in Firefox. I always do research before
    posting here, but I'm completely helpless now. I'm very new to CSS,
    this is my first page I've layed on using this language. Pretty
    much none of the top margins are working, and my faux column image
    isn't displaying. I'll attach the HTML and the CSS and see if
    someone can point out what is wrong with Firefox.

    I'm seeing problems in FF3, Safari 3.1, and IE6. Flash code
    and missing alt
    tags on images won't hurt you, but some of the other
    validation errors could
    be effecting your layout.

    In addition, you've got problems with those png images and
    alpha-transparency. They do not render well in IE6 without
    some sort of png
    fix JavaScript. Given that many people still use IE6, you
    might want to
    switch to jpgs for backgrounds.

  • WMode Transparent not displaying in Windows/Firefox

    Hello, I'm using Wordpress and a Wordpress flash plugin
    called Showtime Slideshow as the site's gallery. It works
    perfectly in the standard wmode=window setting in
    Firefox/Windows, but I have a dropdown menu that
    overlaps with the Flash. I was able to figure out the wmode
    needs to be opaque or transparent, but when I use those
    settings, nothing is displayed at all. It works fine in
    Windows/IE, Mac/IE and Mac/Firefox, so there is something
    in the code that Windows/Firefox doesn't like in this code
    (another Flash object from YouTube with wmode=transparent
    displays correctly).
    Here is the code that the plugin generates:
    <!-- generated by showtime WP plugin -->
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    var flashvars = {
    xml                : 'http://www.youtag.lu/youtagdesign/wp-content/plugins/showtime-slideshow/showtime/getxml.php?attr=id^433*source^medium*sourcehd^large*',
    width                : '674',
    height                : '448',
    classid           : 'st_0',
    rotationtime     : '5',
    transition          : 'SlideRight',
    transitiontime     : '1.5',
    transitionease     : 'BackEaseOut',
    autoplay          : '',
    showcontrols     : 'on',
    fullscreen          : 'on',
    showtext          : '',
    showalt               : 'on',
    shuffle               : '',
    scale               : 'noScale'
    var params = {};
    params.allowFullScreen = 'true';
    params.bgcolor = '#EDEAE6';
    params.quality = 'autohigh';
    params.wmode = 'transparent';
    //params.base = 'dirname(__FILE__)';
    //params.allowScriptAccess = 'local';
    var attributes = {};
    attributes.styleclass = 'showtime';
    swfobject.embedSWF ('http://www.youtag.lu/youtagdesign/wp-content/plugins/showtime-slideshow/showtime/st15.swf', 'st_0', '674', '448', '10.0.0', 'http://www.youtag.lu/youtagdesign/wp-content/plugins/showtime-slideshow/showtime/swfobject/expressInstall.swf', flashvars, params, attributes);
    </script>
    [taken from the Showtime Slideshow demo page]
    Based on that code, can anyone see anything that
    would cause the whole slideshow to not display at all?

    Bump. Could anyone take a look at the code?
