hi there,
i'm new to publishing websites, but my site was working just fine for a few weeks...then suddenly i'd get this notice when i'd try to visit:

the address is correct. i've published before using the same info. i have a .Mac account.
help? i asked my outside server (fatcow.com) and the problem seems to be on the mac end.

Welcome to the discussions. .Mac was re-branded as MobileMe a year ago — so what you have is a MobileMe account. Hopefully it hasn't expired...
Click on the  menu and choose System Preferences... > .Mac or MobileMe icon > Account tab.

Is fatcow.com where you've registered a personal domain name which is re-directed to MobileMe? ...In which case, rather than your "outside server", it's your domain name registrar.

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data then reselect it then restart your iMac.

IOS - Error - Playlists on desktop not showing up in mobile app

Hey there, can you confirm if there is any songs showing up in Your Music? Can you test if they are still syncing between the apps by creating a new playlist and seeing if that appears?

Why do some images not show on the mobile browser but do on the normal Firefox

I have an HTC desire hd. I have had a site built.
the images don't show on the mobile browser. when using the standard browser which came with the phone 'internet' it works fine. is there a reason for this?

I get a content encoding error when trying to load one of the problem images.

Belkin UPS does not show up when connected to MacPro via USB

I have just replaced my aging DP G4 machine with a MacPro. I added a UPS with a USB connection. It was advertised as being Mac compatible.
After many tries to get the horrible Belkin software to work, I gave up. The worst part is that The UPS will not show up even in the Energy Saver preference pane.
I checked if the USB connection is working OK on the UPS and it seems to work, although it reports itself as "Cypress Semiconductor Serial to USB" in the System profiler.
Any ideas of what I could try to get this to work? As of now, it I am not around to shut down the machine, the battery backup is useless...

I can't offer any real help here other than to say that the Belkin UPS does work with a Mac Pro. I was running one on my G5 and when I replaced that last week with a Mac Pro I simply plugged it in and it worked.
I have never tried to use the Belkin software; I read somewhere on these forums I think that it's rubbish and because OS X supports UPS out of the box I have always relied on that.
I am connected via USB. The Energy Saver UPS panel simply shows the UPS name as "UPS", and in System Profiler itsimply says "Belkin".
BTW, I also have a Belkin UPS on my wife's iMac and it does exactly the same.
I know they work because we have had power outs here and the UPS devices have kicked in just fine.
I am guessing—but this is only a guess—that you may have some remnants of the Belkin software still on your system and that this may be interfering with Energy Saver. I would maybe try to do a finder search (apple+F from the desktop) for "Belkin" and see if that shows anything. Maybe ask Belkin what gets installed so you could check it's all gone?

Email & attachments ALSO webpages--not showing the same content as computer

Having several issues...
I have (as an example) bookmarked (on my home computer) a www.weather.com link (showing radar images for my city), the bookmark was sync'd to my iPhone, and WAS working fine, however now whenever I try using the link, it is a different webpage...almost like a modified phone version of the www.weather.com site. I can use the same link on my computer, and it shows the page I want, but now on iPhone it's different. I've tried deleting cookies and cache's, but every time I go to this bookmark, a different version of the weather page come up. Almost like a 'watered down' version. How can the same bookmark get different pages on my computer and on iPhone?
ANOTHER issue... I have tried testing this by forwarding an email to myself.... I have an airline itinerary from an airline that was sent to my email (from the airline website) and it comes through as the typical formal itinerary 'look'. If I forward this email back to myself, it doesn't come across the same with the formal look, only the text format on my iPhone. BUT, it comes through perfectly on my computer. Again, same email, but viewing it on my computer show the original formal itinerary, but viewing on my iPhone is again, some kind of watered down text only format.

Thanks for your reply... for the www.weather.com website, I get the same result using either Edge or WiFi, even if I manually enter in "www.weather.com" and not use the bookmark, it changes to xhtml.weather.xhtml and gives me this other version, which I am assuming to be the mobile version. The mobile version appears to be faster that the 'real web' version, but I'm still wondering why this would be giving me the mobile version. It was working fine, but in the last day or so, I've been getting this mobile version....
On the other issue, with the emails... why would my messages be coming across as just text? I can forward an 'html' email from my iPhone (using Yahoo), showing the itinerary I received for my trip, with all the graphics, and when I login to my Yahoo email on my computer, I see the exact same original email. Then I go to my iphone and read the message, and it's in text format. Any ideas???

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

TOC not showing up on mobile devices after generating Multiscreen HTML5 output?

I'm using a trial version of RoboHelp 10. I created a project and used the screen profile: Android_Galaxy_Tab and the Screen Layout" Android_Tablet_Layout and generated HTML5 output from that. I navigate to the folder on my computer and click index.htm and it shows up in Chrome browser fine, but I upload (via FTP) the exact files to my web server and navigate to the web files and the TOC doesn't show up. As well as on mobile devices. The web files are here www.superdesigngirl.com/android_galaxy_tab/index.htm. Do I need to publish the files to the web via RoboHelp? Is this a known issue? Am I setting something wrong? Please help. Katherine.

Observations:
When your site is uploaded to our server, and we access it with our mobile devices, we experience the same issue with the TOC refreshing instead of drilling down. The same sort of thing happens when we access your index - regardless of which topic we try to display, clicking on any link simply refreshes the index. We didn't have this problem with our own index. I wonder what's different?
When we access your site, directly via our iPad, it works perfectly. However, when we access your site via my Windows Phone (Nokia Lumia 920 running Phone 8) I experience the same problem of your TOC refreshing like ours does. Also, your index doesn't work on that phone, whereas ours does.
I should probably add that what I uploaded to our server was everything in the \empcareus\EmployeeCareUS\EmployeeCareUS_Project\!SSL!\Multiscreen_HTML5 directory to our testing server at ****.com.au/onlinehelpdemo/mobile/emp
Was that the right thing to do?
I've also thought this might be a permissions issue, but setting all file/folder permissions to 777 hasn't made a difference.

UPDATE: I took our files home and uploaded them to my own web server. They work perfectly on my Windows phone and iPad. Something's wrong at the work server end, I guess. Any ideas?

Webpages not showing correctly after publishing

Dear, I was uploading my webpages with Easy iWeb Publisher to my host server. That worked fine ! But now my pages are not appearing correctly. Some images and text are missing, some links are not working and some pages remain blank. Did I do something wrong?

Most likely some stuff is not in fact being uploaded. Use Safari > Window > Activity to see what files are "not found".
Try using the free ftp app Cyberduck instead.
It's pretty much impossible to offer any real help unless you provide your url so people can see for themselves what is going on.

Site not showing responsively on mobile (viewport tag help?)

I'm new to responsive design so bear with me...
My site works responsively when I change the size of the browser window on a desktop, but on mobile it appears as a zoomed-out version. I tried several versions of the viewport meta tag to try and solve this, currently using:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
Also tried it in the CSS as advised by one tutorial:

Nothing seems to be doing anything though when I view on mobile. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Firstly I would not use the frameset.
In HTML5, which you are not using, framesets have been deprecated, hence will be removed some time into the future.
Secondly, when I view the site in a mobile, all I see is a miniature version of the desktop site. This is not what responsive design is about.
Responsive design is all about designing the layout for all screen sizes. The important difference between extra small screen sizes and extra large screen sizes is the width, which in turn dictates the amount of content that can be placed horizontally.

Webpage not showing a flash embeded item on Android.

I uploaded a .Swf item in wordpress blogpost, Its working fine on pc. but when i try to open it on my android phone (already installed flash player on it) it doesnt shows that animation. What could be the problem??

I have created a website and "put" it online. I am able to
access it in firefox and sometimes internet explorer. when my
friends try to access it (or when i use IE or safari) all that
shows up is the background, except for one page that you manually
type in. Is there a way to fix this?

Preference to have Safari launch with previously open webpages not showing up

In Mountalin Lion v. 10.8.2, there was supposed to be a preference to have Safari launch with previously open webpages. I have looked multiple times in the preferences for Safari and can't find this setting.

That new Safari preference only appears if you have 'Close windows when quitting an application' checked in System Preferences>General.
If you do 'close windows when quitting an application', then allowing Safari to reopen its windows is a useful option. If you don't 'close windows when quitting an application', then Safari windows should reopen automatically anyway on launch so you don't need the extra preference setting.

DC not showing under "Network" in Windows Explorer of member server

Hello Community
    After spending an endless amount of time trying to create SharePoint Server farm
and seeing an error message stating that I could not connect to the master, I found
that that was not the problem at all.
    The farm has Windows 2008R2 Server dc (Server1) and Windows 2008 Server member server
(Server2).
    If I go into Windows Explorer and click "Network" on the Windows 2008R2 Server
dc (Server1) the Windows 2008 Server member server (Server2) is visible.
    But if I go to the Windows 2008 Server member server (Server2) and click "Network"
I do not see the Windows 2008R2 Server dc (Server1) it is not visible.
    I figured that since Server2 showed under "Network" I would be able to map a network
drive to Server2. But when I tried to map the network drive I got the following error
message:
    "\\Server2 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
     resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access
     permissions."
    However, after a waiting a looong time I was able to do the opposite by
mapping a network drive from Server2 from Server1.
    But that doesn't solve the problem because Server1 still doesn't show under
"Network" on Server2 which is what is needed. It only mapped to the C:\ drive on Server2,
which is what the server farm needs.
    I am admin on both servers.
    The firewall is off.
    Both servers are obviously in the same domain.
    How can I get Server1 to appear under "Network" on Server2?

Hi,
Based on my experience, if your computer is connected to a network, you can see all of the computers and devices that are currently part of the network in the Network
folder.
Please make sure the DC and server2 are in the same network and network discovery setting is set to open on both of the computers.
In addition, did you have other member servers on the same network? If yes, can you see them list in the network folder on server2?
I also recommend you to ping the DC on server2 to make sure the connectivity between them.
