Webpages not loading generally slow

I am based in Rotherham, not sure what is happening but it started this morning. Pages not working timing out and generally being slow.

This is what mine looks like from a ping perspective;

Running Mt Lion and when I click on General in the System Preferences I get, "Could not load General preference pane". When I search for the plist..there does not appear to be one. Any ideas...ANYONE?

Do Finder > Go > Go to Folder and paste this and press Go!
~/Library/Preferences
A window will appear, scroll down until you see this file
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
there may be two of them, drag the one you can to the Trash and reboot, set your System Preferences again, the file was recreated, the original was corrupted if this solution works.

I have noticed that some webpages are loading/rendering differently when using Firefox, but will look correct when using other browsers, IE and Chrome. I have also checked using mobile version of FF, and I have the same issue. Also tried using a different computer, exact same issue arises.

I have been searching for an answer for many hours. I have tried different suggestions made in different threads, but I have not been able to find an answer. As mentioned, I have this issue on my computer (which has Ghostery, and No-Script), I have this issue on another computer (with no additional plug-ins installed), and I have this issue on my mobile phone (also no additional plugins).

I have cleared Cache and Cookies, yet the problem is still persisting.
I am not sure what you mean by, "using same log-in preferences for this site on all the devices??" The second computer is my wife's computer and she is the one who originally noted the discrepancy in the different browsers loading the same website differently. I don't know if that response helps in determining if we are using the same log-in preferences for the site. As to actually accessing the site in question, I am not logging in or anything, I am just typing the web address in and noticing it does not render the same as in Chrome.
I have been telling her to just use Chrome and not deal with this issue, but she is having issues with Chrome and her new Windows 8 computer, in which she notices that while using Chrome, her memory usage and CPU usage are peaked at 100%, making her computer run extremely slow. Alas, that is a completely different problem for a different forum!

GoogleVoice webpage not loading properly

I have been using GoogleVoice for some time, without any problems. Since your latest update, the webpage does not load properly. Only the GoogleVoice name appears, at top left corner, on an otherwise blank page. I can open GoogleVoice using Internet-Explorer on the same PC, without any trouble. There is no issue with signing-in to that account. I use W-7 Premium, 64 bit.

Google Voice is affected by styling changes that also may affect GMail, and Google search. When you get your voice back the Format now shows "Call" and "Text" buttons with white text on red/orange background.
Try updating your "'''Add Block Plus'''" filter subscriptions to see it that solves the problem -- it probably will.
You can update your subscription filters by right-clicking the ADP button > '''preferences''' > Filters > "Update all subscriptions"  The keyboard shortcut for preferences is "Ctrl+Shift+F".
You can test quickly to find out if this is or is not the problem area by disabling ADP at the toolbar icon by right-clicking the ADP button > "Disable everywhere" and restore later by unchecking that option.
Less restrictive would be to "Disable on this page only", but either way you want to update your filter subscriptions, then if it doesn't work find out which filter is the problem and which filter subscription it is in, which can be found from the "Open '''blockable items'''" and hovering over filter line. The columns you should be showing are: Address, Filter, Type, State. Sort on State so red items are at top of list.  The keyboard shortcut for blockable items is "Ctrl+Shift+V" (unfortunately far from unique among other applications).
You can turn off a specific filter by toggling a blocking filter by double-clicking the filter in the blockable items, or by unchecking the filter in preferences. From preferences you can also also block/unblock specific filters, but you can also block/unblock an entire subscription or all of your own filters as a group. Unblocking a filter subscription restores your choices of blocked/unblocked items within.

Safari Webpages not loading right

I have pages that will not load correctly, now that I use 7.0 and Maverick how do I fix this?

Thanks for responding. after I looked through the help page I went to my safari prefs and changed my font size and that solved the problem. At some point i must have increased the minimum from 11 to 12, tht stopeed the pages from loading properly.

Some webpages not loading on new imac

I just bought one of the new Imac's at my local Apple store. I am overall very happy with it, but found that I can not load some web pages. Mainly msnbc.com and apple.com.
Facts:
**All Updates have been installed.
**This happens both when using the Airport or directly
**I am using ATT DSL, not Cable modem
**On Apple.com it displays most graphics but will not display the gray bar at the top of the screen. It's almost as if when it can't display the gray bar it decided to list the links vertically at the top left hand corner of the screen. No pages off of apple.com have EVER loaded.
**These web pages load of my other networked computers at home.
**Did a complete Erase and reinstall of the OS. Same problem.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

An interesting question. Here's what happens when you load
a web page:
1) Your browser assembles and sends an http request.
2) An http daemon receives the request and hands it off to
a child for processing.
3) The child assembles the web page and sends an http
resonse.
4) Your browser receives the response and formats the page.
I think you're assuming the problem is between steps 3 and 4,
but are you sure? Perhaps it's as simple as emptying the cache.
At any rate, there should be more information somewhere which
will tell you where the problem is. Check the activity log in
Safari. Or is it timing out? We need more information to
determine where the problem lies.

Airport, webpages not loading?/

hey all. here's the setup. new ibook w/ airport card, and aebs, and cable modem. problem is, network is showing that i'm connected, but none of the webpages are loading. I get full bars on the aiport "waves" even and when i use the admin utility, it picks up the airport card and shows me connected. just to be sure, I hardwired the modem directly to the ibook and the pages load. any ideas? what's the best way to connect the ibook wirelessly with the aebs and cable modem, settings and all?? thanks!

Did you power off your cable modem when switching between the iBook and AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS)? Many cable modems require that you do this.

Certain webpages not loading properly

The last few days I have noticed that certain webpages are slow to load and then only a text outline appears. When I open safari, the apple start page loads without graphics and only shows text on the left side of the page.
I am using OS X and Safari 6.0.5. I have emptied the cache and reset safari with no luck. I also made sure that "disable images" was not selected. This is driving me crazy! I should mention that some websites load with no problem. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?

Try troubleshooting extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

Webpage not loading shockwave graphics

I am trying to give one of my users access to the following
webpage

When the user goes to this address (in a limited standard
user account) she is presented with the icon to say that there
should be some type of image loaded here but there isn't (the
internet explorer icon with red and blue triangles and circles in
the top left of the browser)
This website works for administrators but not for standard
users, anyone know why and if so please please help. The website I
am having trouble with is one of many!
I've tried giving the user full access to nearly all areas of
the shockwave/macromedia installation but to no avail!

A couple things you can try.
Go to Settings > Reset > Reset Network Settings. They go back and join your network. When prompted for your Wifi password, try using the encryption key (most often a 9 - 13 digit combination of numbers and letters found on a sticker on your router).
If that doesn't work, unplug your router (really) and after a minute, plug it back in and see if your iPad finds your router and connects.

IOS8.1.2 iPhone 5s Webpages not loading (Linked from Facebook)

Having never had much of a problem with my iPhone, this is driving me mad. I cannot open any webpages linked from Facebook approximately since I installed 8.1.2. A browser page opens but stays blank whilst the text at the top states 'Loading...' - but it never does.
I then try to 'Open in Safari' but this page stays blank too.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks very much in advance.

Going everywhere I could think off, figured this out myself.
Seems that the restore of my previous iPhone to that new iPhone didn't restore everything (it did when I restored an iPhone 4S to another iPhone 4S though).
Turned out to be the settings in the Push configuration where all the folders other than default "Inbox" were not ticked. I've ticked the one I wanted and now working again as I expected.
If someone else has the same issue, check this first.

Webpages are loading **bleep** slow in win 8.1 version

Hi Hp, I have problem wtih my brand new laptop HP 14-r113TU Laptop, the problem is webpages are taking soooo much time in loading and when they are loaded, they are showing as page not found.
I have chekced my internet connections they are working fine, I have done eveything **bleep** however there is nothing happening, so could you please any one help me in doing so. Here is the way I fixed that problem with one partition (not two like you have). That error is coming from HP and not windows. I believe the boot sector or whatever is supposed to be there was corrupted by Windows 10. Because I could press the
bios key and see bootload, efi, and windows files on the disk. but none of them worked.
I fixed this basically like this:
turn on safe mode in bios
change boot order to put USB up front
install Ubuntu from USB thus erasing Windows (If I had a Windows start disk I could have used Windows. But I found no way to do that from Ubuntu.)
Regarding HP bios, I learned that you press f8, f9, f10, or f11 when you power up the computer to get to the bio screens and escape from the vicious circle of the blue screen with the "your pc needs to be repaired error." You have to wait until
the blue screen goes to sleep again and repower the computer to switch to another option. None of those keys will work until you do that.
Also it appears that with the HP Envy Dv7 there is no way to get it to boot from SSD. So you have to install Windows on a HDD.

Why do certain webpages not load

All of a sudden, certain webpages don't load. (Including trying about 3 times to get to this board.) Things seem to be running very slowly, and I've just cleaned my Mac, trying to help. The bar starts to load, then stops halfway, and doesn't do anything else....

WebPages not loading properly in Safari on iOS5/6

My WebPages are not working with Safari on iPad iOS6. I have tested my Webpages in IE, Chrome & Safari on Desktop and also tested in Android tablet (default browser) and Mobile Chrome in iPad. I see the pages loads occasionally in iPad Safari (yet not working when navigating to other pages). Everytime when I open the iPad Safari, I used to clear the cache and also I have tried private browsing. Still it is not working.

Try accessing with Internet Explorer and/or FireFox.

I have used firefox for a number of years now, and have recently brought a brand new PC.
So i installed firefox but, some webpages don't load properly. I have restarted my PC, restarted firefox and reinstalled firefox.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
