Webserver on VMS server stops working

Folks,
I just deployed VMS with the latest release and service pack level. I am unable to see the event viewer of IDS MC as it complains about apache not working correctly, is it a BUG? or may be my log files are too big??
If i reboot the VMS server, everything is alright for a couple of hours, but then we are back to square one.
Thanks

proper coexistence of SIMS 3.1 with Cisco VPN/Security Management Solution (VMS) running on Internet Explorer 6.0, you must make the following change to the Internet Explorer settings:
Step 1 Open Internet Explorer.
Step 2 Select Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.
Step 3 Under Java (Sun) area, deselect "Use Java 2 v1.4.1_2 for (requires restart)," then click Apply.
Step 4 Restart CiscoWorks.
Step 5 Open the SIMS desktop in a new browser.

  • My incoming mail server stopped working for the 3rd time Help?

This is the third time my incoming mail server stopped working any suggestions on how to repair this?
    Thank You!

If Apple replaced the logic board three times for the same issue, and the third board has now broken for the same reason, you may be able to ask Apple for a replacement machine. You're out of warranty, and Apple is under no obligation to do anything for you (unless the current logic board was replaced by Apple less than 90 days ago in which case it's still under warranty), however, as a good will gesture, they may be willing to exchange your system for another one. You can start at the Apple store or call Apple customer care directly.

  • My Samba server stopped working and I have no idea why.

I set up a samba server once I got arch installed and it was working like a boss for about a month. Then one day (i think the machine may have rebooted) it just stopped working. I can't access my samba share from any of my other machines (all running Windows 7). I hadn't changed anything so I don't know what the culprit is. I did some update and looked at the smb.conf file but everything seems to be in order. I also tried to connect with smbclient from the machine itself and I get an NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED error.
    What's going on?
    Here is my smb.conf
    # This is the main Samba configuration file. You should read the
    # smb.conf(5) manual page in order to understand the options listed
    # here. Samba has a huge number of configurable options (perhaps too

    # read the Samba-HOWTO-Collection. This may be obtained from:

    Hi,
My thought is to check the current IP of the server, as your smb.conf has the line interfaces = 192.168.1.109 which means samba will only listen on that interface for requests. If the IP of the server has changed, that would explain why samba isn't working.

  • DI Server stopped working after automatic Windows Server 2003 update

One of my customers is running SBO 2005A SP1 PL22 in Windows 2003 Server environment.
They are also using DI Server as an integration tool. On September 11, DI Server suddenly stopped working. They just get the notorious -1 / Could not commit transaction error message on each login attempt. I have tried all the usual and unusual quick fixes to resolve the issue, but nothing seems to help.
To make things odd, I was successful a couple of times when I experimented with different login messages. For instance, if I omitted the <language> and <licenseserver> elements from the message, I was able to get through once. However, a new attempt with the exact same message failed again. Thus the DI Server is not completely down, it's just in some kind of limp mode.
I checked what had changed that night and I realized that there had been huge automatic Windows updates on the evening of September 10, 2009. There was IE8, .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and a huge array of security etc patches that had been automatically installed. I'm pretty confident that one of these is the cause of the problem. However, I would hate to blindly roll all those updates back.
Is there anyone out there who's had this same problem and possibly found a cure ?
As the customer is running a version that's no longer supported, no support can be expected from SAP. They will just tell us to upgrade to 2007 before any further help is given. Weill, it seems that people out here in the SDN usually have a much better knowledge about the product than SAP does
    Henry

    Hi Gordon,
Is DI Server really using some version of the .NET framework? If so, do you know which one ?
    Best Regards,
    Henry

  • 10.5.5 break anti-virus mail server stops working

We updated to 10.5.5 and suddenly our server stopped forwarding mail.
I noticed in the logs that the anti-spam and anti-virus (clamav etc.) were failing to update and run. The server was brutally slow. I turned off the anti-virus checks and everything is working again after two days of searching.
Any idea what broke and how a newbie could fix it?
    Thanks,

I've had to turn off virus scanning to get any forwarding done.
The spam filter is working but the server grinds to a halt every few minutes, then catches up. Like it's trying something, gives up, and then goes back to work for a bit until it tries again.
The server is running web services and mail forwarding to the University only.
Our firewall restricts outgoing (internet) from the server only accepting incoming requests. That way if it gets hacked it can't attack anyone. We're able to run mac updates via the University software update server (local outgoing is allowed).
Thank you again for any help you can offer.

  • Check the time of edge server stop working

We have exchange 2010 in our environment. There is an edge role installed in a server. The server was hanged and mail service stopped working. But unfortunately we dont monitor these time.
How can we see the last time the edge server working i.e from when it stopped receiving mail from outside domain.
and what is the reason for server hanged?
NB: The whole time internal domain mail send/receive was ok.
    Setu Bandhan Saha

    Hi
In your event viewer it should give you some indication of when the server stopped responding. It can be due to updates, running out of resources, potential hardware failures.
If possible can u plz tell me where in event viewer(system,security....)

  • Connection to Virtual server stopped working via manager and RDP

    Hi
At first, sorry for my English
I have trouble with our Hyper-v server. There are 2 virtual servers running on it. One Domain controller and one Application server. It working fine, but it stopped working for 3rd time (randomly). No event is written in event viewer . If it happen, I can´t
connect via Hyper-v manager or RDP to the virtual machines and the services on virtual servers doesn´t work. It doesn´t write any error message or something while I trying to connect. I tried to restart hyper-v service with no result . It started working when
    i restarted whole Hyper-v server.
Can you please help me with this one ?
    thx

    Hi ,
Please check the VM's state in hyper-v manager when it "stopped" .
What is the host's OS ?
What is the guest OS ?
Did you check hyper-v log ( event viewer --> application and services log -->microsoft --> windows -->then check   hyper-v logs to find some useful information )
Also please check event log in VM .
    Best Regards

  • Existing HTTP server stops working after installing OWB10g

    Hi,
I have upgraded an existing OWB target installation on a Win2000 server to 10G by installing the OWB SW on the server as described in the installation documentation. The target database is still v9.2.0.4. After installing OWB and restarting the server, the 9.2 HTTP server no longer starts. The error logs show that the HTTP server is trying to find some Perl libs in the new OWB home.
From what I can see, the OWB 10g installation creates a new environment variable; PERL5LIB, pointing to various catalogues in the OWB 10g home. If I remove this from the system, the HTTP server again starts normally, but I suppose this has some negative impact on OWB?
How can I get the Oracle database 9.2 HTTP server to work alongside OWB 10g?
    Roald

    Roald,
OWB 10g 'inherited' this bug from Oracle database 10g Bug 3585410. OWB 10g install includes 'Oracle Perl Interpreter' from Oracle 10g which creates this ENV. OWB 10g does not need this and PERL5LIB can safely be renamed without affecting OWB 10g functionality.

  • OS X Snow Leopard server, proxy server stopped working.

    Hi All,
I have OS X  Snow Leopard Server (10.6.8) configured as a forward proxy server.  It was working fine for a year until today.  I cannot access any external web sites and get the following error:
    Service Unavailable!
The server is temporary unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems.  Please try again later.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
    Error 503

    Sun Jul 27 22:53:18 2014
    Apache/2.2.24 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.24 OpenSSL/0.9.8y
If I change the proxy configuration on the Mac client (MacBook Air) to access the Internet directly (bypass the proxy server) all websites work fine.  In the Server Admin, Web, logs I see the following errors:
    Access /var/log/apache2/access_log.
    "GET http://www.apple.com/startpage/HTTP/1.1" 503 1062
    Error /var/log/apache2/error_log.
[error](60)Operation timed out: proxy:HTTP:attempt to connect to 2.16.236.183:80(*) failed.
I have tried the following but made no difference:
    -Stop/Start the Web Server.
    -Restarted the Server completely.
    -Uninstalled/Reinstalled the Web Server (Off/On).
    -Reconfigured the forward proxy settings.
    -Empty the proxy cache folder.
-Checked the files exist under /etc/apache2 folder.
-Checked the files exist under /var/log/apache2 folder.
-Checked the the proxy_module and ssl_module are enabled.
Any ideas and how to troubleshoot this issue further is most appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I think I have fixed it.  I have reloaded/restarted the Cisco router/firewall back end and front end now proxy is working again.  Very odd since I use the same devices to connect directly to the Internet without the proxy server.  Oh well, it's working again so it's all good.

  • Outgoing mail server stopped working

I'm using time-warner cable internet and the outgoing server suddenly stopped responding to Mail. I called TW but of course they said there was nothing they could do- it's an Apple problem.
So, Apple, what would make Mail stop recognizing the server? Nothing changed as far as I know.
Any ideas would be deeply appreciated! I can't get my work done!

I am having an issue with sending email out atm as well. Could you tell me LAM if the problem is non stop or only occasionally?
For me I keep getting a message telling me the outgoing server is not available and would I like to try again later. I have several smtp severs setup to deal with the different networks I join so I also get the option to use another server. Without being connected to those networks it will not work however.
I found if I just close and reopen mail the message will send. Its real annoying as its only just started for me in the last week or so.
I have a Mac Book Pro with 10.4.10 osx. I have tried removing the server settings and replacing them and also the disk utility to verify and repair permissions. I see people having trouble with email on iphone and wonder if there is some trouble with the latest update.
I have also confirmed my isp has not changed its smtp settings. Overall mail is still working, just not how it should be

  • HELP! The App server stopped working!

Everything was fine then I started getting this when trying to run the applicaiton. Note that it keeps giving this same error message over and over until I stop the app server.
I did notice that the context-root was missing in the domain.xml as mentioned, so I put it back, but that still did not help.
    Any ideas?

No, I did not modify the web.xml file. I did modify the applicationContext-jdbc.xml file though (Spring related) just before this started to happen.
Also, I was adding some logic to the ApplicationBean just before the problem occured.

  • 10.8.2 - Messages Server Stopped Working

    Original post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19663473
Just installed 8.2 and the new Server and now my Jabber server will not start.
It just says can't read settings in the ui and at the command line I get:
    jabber:error = "CANNOT_LOAD_BUNDLE_ERR"
ML Server is pretty awesome but it's been a disaster so far for me. I am thinking if I could just find the settings file maybe it's corrupt and I can force it to recreate them.. ?

    Mike/Ryan,
Its sorted. I deleted the Server app, emptied the bin (important to do), restarted - re-installed the Server App (with my Apple account password) and - hey presto after being patient it all worked OK.
I think I know what the problem is...
If you buy the Mac Mini (or other server machine) with Server App on (pre-installed image), it gets confused when doing the update. This is because the pre-installed Server App has a different update account setting (other than say apps you purchase with your normal iTunes account and what you are probably logged into) - for some reason this screws the permissions up. I also purchased OSX Server APP for another machine, so once I installed the Server app again with my correct purchase details from the app store - the permissions were all OK and it worked.
I think that may be it...
Cheers for all your help - I am smiling again and can now watch a movie with a glass of wine in peace ;-)

  • Imap server stops working on Mail for Mac.

I have a problem with my Mail account on my Mac. It just came today without my doing anything.
The IMAP server I am using is p08-imap.mail.me.com. It gets allocated automatically.  I'm suspect it is a problem with the iCloud server and not my way of connecting to it.
The me.com imap on my iPhone and iPad are functioning well.  I tried turning off Mail in system preferences and turning it back on after rebooting, but to no avail. The Mail program does not want to save the password, which I entered again.

Further to my earlier post today. Deleting my BT a/c in mac mail yesterday and adding back as new A/C did not work and both my A/c and my wife's continued to time out. I finally went into the a/c settings once more, deleted my password and re-entered it and saved the change. Surprise surprise, this re-established imap contact and downloaded all my folder contents once more. Not only that, it restarted my wife's e-mail in her logiin without the need to delete and re-enter her separate E-mail password. My password is the master for using BT Broadband and somewhere this had got lost/ corrupted in requesting imap mail to our iMac. I hope this is a permanent solution and hope this helps others whose imap service fails.
