WebService iView Customization

Hi,
How Can I customize a Standard WebService iView? I Mean.. I'm able to create a system and after to create an iView using the wizard, it works fine but I need to do two more actions, first is set the user logged on the session as one parameters and second is to use the information retrieved from the webserver (displayed on the iview)to redirect the user to another website.

This action was not allowed when using the standard iView. So I developed a new one using NWDS.

Portal iview Customization for Webdynpro Java CTRL+ Right Click in Preview

Hi Team,
I am able to hide some Web Dynpro UI elements from Portal Content Administration >> Web Dynpro iView >> Preview and by Pressing CTRL+RIGHT CLICK.
Here I need to understand the concept like how things work in this case. If we hide some UI in Web Dynpro Java iView customization will there not be any RFC/BAPI calls associated with that particular UI
For Example: Web Dynpro iView is made up of CompA and CompB and I am going to hide the UI associated with CompA. When I invoke the application will there not be any activity like invoking CompA calling associated RFC/BAPI etc related to CompA
Please help me in understand the concepts and performance implications on this.

Hi Sudhir,
Great Question! :-)... I am not 100% sure, but my guess would be that you would still see the associated BAPI/RFC calls since the "hiding" of the fields is purely a UI feature done using the Portal PCD.
However you can of course test this for your scenario, by running an RFC trace for your user in the ECC system and then run the WDJ application and see if you see the RFC calls or not (more or less depending on the hidden/visible status of your component).

I am trying create a "webservice iview " in the CE 7.2 portal, while creating it is asking for a function group (in the drop down).i found no function here in the drop down.Could you please tell me how to populate the function group in the drop down.Do i need to configure any where in the back end system?

MSS iview Customization in SAP R/3 4.7

we are running on SAP R/3 4.7 version. and we had deployed the MSS Business package into our SAP Netweaver portal 7.0.
Now our requirement was to customize one field in the General Data iview. corresponding par file name is com.sap.pct.hcm.eeprofilegeneraldata.par
Is there any way (sequence of steps ) how can we customize the above iview.

Hi Joseph,
we have downloaded the par file into our local nwds, and we are not getting java files under src.api, src.core files.
Actually,a new function module was created, in which we have created new method. and we need to establish connection to
this function module through SAP Enterprise connector.
do you have any example or approach on this customizations

IView Customization

Hi,
We have recently upgrade our portal server to NW2004s from NW2004. I have read that we can customize the WD based iViews by Ctrl+RightClick of the mouse.
While I am trying to do it as suggested in guides(going to roles-> navigate to iview-> preview) its not working. The customization window is not opening. Is there any initial setting which is needed.

Webservice IView Problem

Hello;
I have an iview that has internet link like http://aaaa.com/bbb/login.asp
if i run this iview in ep, i login but if i run sub pages of it (that calls a webservice from internet) give me error. but if i go this link directly
http://aaaa.com/bbb/login.asp from ie i can run all of pages.
I got error Service Unavaliable error on java script alert.
I debug on firefox firebug addon
I got that
Div_WS_IzinGun.useService is not a function
[Break on this error] Div_WS_IzinGun.useService ("http://aaa.com/bbbwebservices/calendar/manager.asmx?WSDL")
Is there any idea?

I have generate all webservices "proxy classes" with axis from apache and it works.

KM discussion iview customization

Hi All,
I am trying to customize the default KM Discussion iView. I was not able to figure out a way to remove the buttons "New Discussion Topic", "Delete All Topics". How to achieve this?

As Jon has mentioned you can modify the Commandgroup/or create your own command group
First you create a custom Layoutset
Duplicate DiscussionGroups Layoutset
Then Duplicate DiscussionGroupCollectionCommandGroup
From the List of coomands, remove those you don't want.
Also duplicate the collection renderer which refers to the "DiscussionGroupCollectionCommandGroup" and refer your Command group in the collection renderer

MSS iview customization not WebDynpro

                 I need to add a new field to the General data iview of MSS package.For that we have created a new function Module (having the new field) in the Backend R/3 which calls the existing Function module.This is based on the Par file and not the Web Dynpro component.

ESS 50.4 Personal Information iViews customization

We are using ESS 50.4 on EP 6.0. With a very tight deadline, I need to remove/hide some buttons and icons in the Personal Information iViews.
I need to hide the buttons - NEW, Change, Display, Delete
I need to hide the icon that looks like three columns and when clicked on provides
'Help for user-defined settings'
Does anyone have the instructions to make these changes? If so, I would greatly appreciate you sharing the information with me.

the service is PZ02 - Go in transaction SE80, select Internet Services.
But to change this service you need an expert in Abap.

Webdynpro iview Customization not reflecting to all users

Hi Forum,
In Webdynpro ivew, from Content Administration >> preview >> done some customization by CTRL+Right Click. But when we access that page assigned to a role, customization is reflecting to only that user but not for other users. But we want this customization to be reflected to all users who is accessing that role associated with that webdynpro ivew.
Please help us to resolve this issue

UWL iView customization

In the UWL iView i would like to remove the Alerts, Notification and the tarcking tabs. I just want to keep the tasks tab.
Can anyone please help in customising the UWL iview to reflect these changes.

check the xml configuration file below. It defines a new navigation strucutre. Basically, it is the default navigation structure but without the tabs alerts and notifications. The id (name) is: MyNavigationStructure.

Srm role + iview customization

I am working on SRM 4. I am new to SAP.
I need to customixze the iviews like change the label of one or two fiels , or delete some fields. How am i supposed to do that? do I have to import the epa file in the
NWDS and then modidy the code in web - dynpro or Java persepective or in ABAP.
Can anyone please help me as to how to proceed on this issue.

First, you should try to talk your users into using the software as it was intended to be used - why are they deleting and changing fields? SAP delivers software and business process, and if you deviate too much from what they deliver you will run into problems later.

You might try modifying the BusinessHTML using transactio se80 -> Internet Services
Of course you'll have to located the service in question. Try going to the screen in question (using internet explorer), right click, view source, and upon investigation you'll find the appropriate service name. This is the file you will need to edit in se80.
Once you make your changes, you will need to publish these servicse back to your ITS server.
You should also have a discussion with someone in charge and tell them "we're going to need a place to back up the old ITS server templates" since these are not typically a part of a transport or CTS process you will need to create your own.

MSS General Data iView

Hi To all,
I'm implementing MSS 60.1.5 <b>(No WebDynpro)</b>
I have a problem with GeneraData iView
(com.sap.pct.hcm.eeprofilegeneraldata.default)
It's a JSP and it utilize the RFC HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_GENERALDATA
The problem is that the iView do not show in a correct way the data. I.E. next to Employee SubArea(description) show the office adress, or next to salary class(description) show the value of the Employee status.
Someone know how can I reorganize the view?

Can you help me regarding MSS iview customization (based on par and not webDynpro).There is one iview General data in which we have to add one new field.For that a new function Module is created in the Backend R/3 by ABAP persons.The New Function module wraps the old function Module + the new Field.Do you know How this filed can be shown in our iview.

Modify standard Java Iview ?

I would like to modify in our system (EP 6 SP 2) the standard MSS Iview "General Data" by deleting some information and adding some specific data.
I have questions about the following steps:
- with a Java Developer Role, where can I get the .par file in the portal?
- with the .par file, could I import it in NWDS or could I modify it directly by decompiling the java classe?

Changes to the MSS business package should be performed using NWDI as these iViews were developed using webdynpro.Please refer my blog for more details,
