Webservice: recording, tracing, log:

Hi,
Can you tell me about your experience ( as system administrator ) in following up processes where SAP webservices are involved, please ?
I know that transaction SICF provides a recording possibility. Are you using this tool to log what is sent to SAP or are there other options to log what has been sent ?
If the recording is not activated and an error has happened, is there a way to trace what went wrong ?

Could not find Activity Tracing & Logging Console in EP

Hi All,
I have portal Admin rights and when I go to
<b>System Admnistrator>Monitoring>Portal</b>, I could not find
Logged on users, Activity Tracing, Logging Console in the Detailed Navigation. (but I could see and access Request Smmary, Request Overview, Component Overview, Thread Overview)
EP 6.0 SP11 is in use. Linux is the OS.
Does anyone know why I am unable to see all the iviews here.

Hi Suresh,
In EP 6.0 SP2 these (logged on users, Activity tracing and logging console) options are available. But not available after that version. Only Request summary, Request overview, component overview, Thread overview are available.

Hi Manoj,
You can change the logout link to a 'logout' page in which you run a pl/sql process....but what if the user just closes the browser..??

What trigger should I use if I want to keep record amendment log?

I am a newbie to Oracle forms, I would like to raise a simple question here ... hope you won't mind ... I have a form interface which accepts user input to record attributes for an object (e.g. personal information of a user). Now, because the importance of data, I was required to write log records in a journal table for changes made on the data. What trigger am I recommended to place and use?

1) Any generic event state to indicate change of record rather than 'POST-INSERT', 'POST-UPDATE' and 'POST-DELETE'?
2) Given that I use the 'POST' event, how can I get the pre-update value? (My log record is supposed to record the before-update value)

Post processing records deletion log in MF47 -reg

How to know the MF47 post processing records deletion by users ?
some of the post processing records in MF47 are being deleted by the users with out processing in time
we would like to know where this log will be there and we should be able to see the log like
which user deleted which records on which date

Webservice scenario with log services

Hi Experts,
I have to invoke two webservices. First I have to call log service and next I have to call one normal webservice.
Scenario: SOAP Client -> Call Log service -> Call normal webservice
Using log service we can send the request and response information to database. When we call the Log service it should update the request details(timestamp) to database. When we get the response from normal webservice the log service should send the response details with timestamp to database.
This is Synch scenaio so the SOAP Client should get the normal webservice's response back to the client.
How to do this scenario?
Please share your ideas.

As far as i think, you might have to use BPM here.
SOAP Client -
XI ==== BPM (BPM will inturn call the service and then the update in DATABASE)

Building a hidden database level tracing log

Hi,
I am currently using oracle 8, does any one know how to create an automatically log file that keep track of who executive which sql query on what time and date?
I need this becasue I would like to find some record that tells me what each user did to the database and which terminer and time they used.

Past Record Or Log of Organisational Plan

Hi Bosses,
Does SAP creates any History Or Log of Changes made in Organisational Plan / Structure. How to view those records/logs.
Can entire such structures be viewed with details of changes made such as Change in Object, Date, Relationship etc.

In <b>E071</b> table, give object name (OBJ_NAME) as your transaction code name and clicl on execute.
This will display all transports which are created for this transaction code. Using these transport information, you can check in SE10, what exactly is changed.
Make sure that table used is E071 and not E070.

Change log pattern on Java Plugin traced logs

Hello,
I have read the following documentation about Tracing and Logging information from the Java Plugin.

Configuring the following properties through Java Console Panel:
-Djavaplugin.trace=true
-Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|cache|security|ext|liveconnect|temp
-Djava.security.debug=access:failure
However, I cannot find any information concerning how to specify the log pattern of the information traced. Basically, I need to append the timestamp of each generated trace message.
Please, is there any config parameter to set on JRE Control Panel in order to change that log pattern?

Sounds like the server can't find the JAR file on its classpath. Have you tried putting the jar into one of the directories already on the path? Check out the opmn.xml to see what is already configured.

No default webservices record

Hi
The following keeps appearing in my logfiles (on Leopard Server 10.5.8).
2011-05-25 06.59.38 servermgrd[85] servermgr_web: No default web services record. Group service settings will not be available.
I have done a lot of searching in the forums and via google but have not found an explanation for this or how to set this (using command line).
My system.log contains
servermgrd[85]: *** -[WPWebServices defaultWebServiceWithSession:]: couldn't obtain the MAC address of interface en0
I suspect these two thing are connected. The machine should not be looking at en0 since my built-in ethernet is broken and does not work.
Netstat -rn tells me that there is no post for en0, only for lo0 and en2 (which is correct considering what interfaces are active).
My dns is correct, changeip -checkhostname tells me the records match.
I simply cannot understand why servermgrd looks for en0? Also i am quite unsure what the defaultWebService is and how to change it's settings.
This is driving me nuts and I would really be grateful if someone could help me out here.

Same problem here. Not sure if it's related, but the DirectoryService daemon keeps crashing, preventing users from logging in. And Server Admin is extremely slow and the Save button is grayed out under web services..

Symbol # in records of the log ScriptLogic are because in my database are corrupted records, so the solution:
1. Export data
2. Clear from fact table
3. Import data
Now...it works ok!
But I've a doubt...Why happen? Anybody known a reason?

Program execution date record or log

Hi:
We've been requested by Development team, to discover if there is any report or program or log that trace the date and/or time that a program has been executed.
I guess that there is not exactly a report like these, but if anyone can give us an idea of how to get these information, we will apprecciate it.

Certain information pertaining to your requirement are available in Table REPOSRC.
Try REPOSRC in SE11.
Other way is
Check the system log. Use the transaction ST03 and click on Performance database (Push button). Hit the target system and select period (you want to analyse ...this is system log and you may not be able to read if the last execution date of the transaction is more than 90 days..not sure how it is configured in your system) and click on "Transaction Profile".
This holds the complete list of Programs / transaction codes executed during last three months. Only painful thing is, we need to browse the list to nail down to the requirement.

About tracing log after deployment

I am about to deploy my web-application on the 9iAs server. In the initial weeks when my application is launched, I would like to keep some logs generated along with the operation of my system. I can't implement it by outputting messages in my console log because my system administrator will beat me for disturbing his monitoring log ... can i config any parameter using JDeveloper so that i can have log generated in a proper place (excluding the console log) for me to write log in the 9iAS server ... any ideas or hints?

There are ways to control logging in the 9iAS instance. However, since this is normally a sysadmin task and JDev is a development tool, JDev does not have direct support for this kind of feature.
System management is more suitably handled by Enterprise Manager (EM) or Distributed Configuration Management (DCM). Check the documentation for these products to find out how to enable logging and log rotation. If you get stuck, post a message to the J2EE forum here on OTN, and the 9iAS experts patrolling that forum will be able to help you.
