Website can't access hard disk

My mpog has 1000s of graphics files that can be stored locally, but it can't access the files, how do I allow the site to access folder on hard disk?

http://www.ferion.com but you need an account to get into a game

It sounds like your hard drive has some data corruption issues or disk directory errors.
You should insert your Mac OS X installation disc and restart with the C key held down. Once you get to the Installer's screen, you should be able to run Disk Utility. I believe for Jaguar (10.2), it is under the Installer's Installer menu (in the menu bar).
In Disk Utility, use +Repair Disk+ on your startup drive. Note if any errors are reported, and if so, whether they are repaired.

  • Why after firmware update to Airport Express 2nd generation on 12 Aug can I not wirelessly access access hard disks connected to airport

During the firmware install there was a problem so that the status light on airport express was amber. It would change to gree for a short while after re-plugging the USB connection between the Airport and hard desk drives (via a hub).
I can see the hard disks listed on the macbook (OSX 10.7.5) finder but not the files on the desks. The hard desk listing have also come up on the imac (OSX 10.6.8) but not often and again there are no files listings available.
A Brothers LaserJet printer sometimes also connected to the hub and then airport also sometimes requires a re-plugging of the USB connection between the hub and airport.

Apple uses Akamai for their software distribution.

The latter (http://swcdn.apple.com) currently redirects to the Akamai content distribution network that hosts the updates. Note that the redirected IP address of http://swcdn.apple.com may vary over time or by geographic region.

Many of the large computer companies use akamai for software.. so it may have picked up those addresses from clients behind the Express.. although normally their IP should show directly.

  • Can't Access Hard Disc: Turn On, Directed Into Shut Down Or Restart Loop

    Hello, please help.
Computer: 1999-2000 iMac G3 400 MHz DVD slot loading with CRT screen, Internal ATA 2 Hard Drive in 2 Partitions.
    Mac OS: 10.2.8 and 9.2.2
    Mouse and Keyboard: working
    Chronology:
1st Problem: Don't know if relevant. In brief, last night, couldn't save images from an eBay listing to my computer: jpg files wouldn't move to desktop. shut down: restarted.
Unexpectedly, dock reverted to original icon settings. Never happened before and don't know why.
Changed dock, including adding for icons like Firefox, Preview, etc. that I wanted.
Checked all preferences: seemed all former settings maintained. Made a few minor changes, such as now using dock magnification.
Restarted and now saved jpg file photos: everything seemed fine.
Browsed on Internet. Saved all new documents to external ACOM DATA disc. Logged off and shut computer off.
2nd Problem: Today I can't use computer. Started computer from power button on keyboard: Startup doesn't finish and can't access my hard drive and OS X dock.
(This morning there had been an electric power shutdown but I have a surge protector and green light on and steady.)
So what happend when I tried to boot up?
Started computer. Screen color properly went from gray to blue. Boot up started: then ceased.
Got dialogue of, "contact your system administrator or restart". Believe I clicked o.k. button.
Never experienced this before. I am on OpenDNS. With another computer, checked if their system is operational: it is.
Restarted: Initialization begins but then doesn't finish. Gray to blue screen: Get dialogue: Restart or Shut down.
    Try restarting again. Same result.
Try Shutdown and turning power on again. Same.
Tried cutting power off during restart and then restarting. Same.
Mac OSX Dialogue box with my name always comes up, "Restart or Shut down. Won't finish booting up. Can't access hard drive or dock.
Do I have hard drive failure? Something else? Don't have OS X disc but can get one. What is likely problem and what should I do to attempt to resolve this? Please advise.
    Thank you, minnow

  • I can't access hard drive

    I buy Airport time capsule.
I can access WiFi but can't access hard drive ?

Are you actually running Lion on your computer??
Make sure the preference in Finder allow it to show network drives.
    This might be turned off.
Have you setup Time Machine.. Time Machine can usually find the TC. If it fails then you need to redo the setup of the TC.
Use all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Manually mount the TC hard disk from finder.. go .. connect to server.
    Type in the name.
AFP://TCname (in mavericks you will need to add the domain.. so TCname.local) TCname is of course replaced with your actual TCname.

  • Can't see hard disk folders

I have an airport extreme hooked to a cable modem. I have a Seagate 160 gig hard disk attached to the airport extreme. My Mac Book Pro can see the hard disk and all its folders, but my PC that is wired with an ethernet cord cannot see the folders on the hard disk. It sees the drive as a Z drive but no folders show up. My husbands Sony Vaio laptop only sees the hard disk and not the folders either.
    Any suggestions????

Safely? No. You'll have to find another place to transfer the data to.
And last is the best format not HFS+?
It is... if you have a Mac. If you are only in Windows, you may at some point want to disconnect the USB HDD from the Extreme and connect it directly to your PC. Native Windows can read a FAT/FAT32 drive, but not an HFS+. However, you can pick up MacDrive which allows a Windows machine to read an HFS+ drive. Your choice.

Can I change hard disk with SSD drive in Toshiba NB100 ?
The Hard disc in this model is same size as SSD 2.5" drive?

    Hi
As mentioned above: the SATA controller is supported so you will need to use a SATA SSD drive usually it should not be a big problem to upgrade the notebook with an SSD drive in some cases it could be possible that the SSD firmware needs to be updated but this depends on the SSD drive manufacturer
However, the SSD drive is much faster than a common HDD. Therefore you should notice a faster performance

At only 15 months of age, my MacPro crashed yesterday! Any idea how I can save my hard disk from being destroyed if I hand it in for repair?

Open it up. Buy a new replacement drive. Install Mac OS. Then give it to them if you still have trouble.
    As for the install failing,
I never do the older "archive and install"
I format and initialize first, even zero the drive, and only then install.
of course all the data is lost.
Data Rescue 3 demo can scan a drive but you need to have setup a 2nd boot drive to work from, AND you would need part of that 2nd drive partition for recovery of data. 30-50GB system partition and 150% the size of the drive you want to recover.
TimeMachine I never adopted or liked but 350% and would only use as secondary backup with cloned copy of your drive.
Backups can be scheduled, run at night or weekend or both, a weekly clone and daily sets.
Disk Warrior 4.2+ is another $100 (DR3 is about same but demo is free to try).
A spare external drive case $30? and TWO hard drives, a replacement and backup/recovery $100 each?
Just some ideas to throw out there....
Bootable clones though you will find are very useful, handy.
I like the small 40GB emergency boot partition - put one on your TimeMachine drive etc.
LION: the one good thinig: it has a recovery mode partition and new Macs have "net install" feature and minimal hardware diagnostic over the internet to do Apple Hardware Test. Lion $30 and might actually want to install it on external.
So DO try installing OS X on one of your external drives - create 40GB volume just for that - if you can please.

  • Accessing Hard Disk Information

Hey all, so I'm new to the Mac scene, and have had my Mac for a couple years now. I've always heard things about how everything done on the computer is stored in the Hard Disk, and I was wondering how I access the information in the Hard Disk.

    Hello,
One way to see all of your software and hardware listed in one area is the System Profiler which is located in your Applications folder. Under Contents on the left, simply click on each item. The information till be displayed on the right.
By right or control clicking the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop, you can view the Capacity and Available drive space which is really important to keep an eye on. Never allow free disk space to fall below 10%, 15% is better.
There are several good reference books available. One is Mac OS X Leopard: The Missing Manual by David Pogue.

  • I can't access the disk on my time capsule

I have a mocbook pro and a 2tb time capsule that was bought abut a month and a half ago, it's fully updated and so is my macbook but I can't access the hard disk. Is there a way in which I can access it without having to completely like reformat it?

Not sure what you mean by access the hard disk.
Are you asking about Time Machine backups from your Mac to the Time Capsule?
If yes, click the Time Machine clock icon on the dock and wait a few minutes for the Time Machine "Star Wars" interface to fully load.
Use the scale at the right of the window to select the date of a recent backup that you want to see
Then, use the Finder like interface to navigate and find the file(s) that you want to see
Click Restore at the lower right if you want to Restore the file to the present, otherwise click Cancel to close Time Machine and return to the present time.
Is there a way in which I can access it without having to completely like reformat it?
Reformatting the Time Capsule will erase alll fo the data on the drive and wipe it clean.
