Website directs me to call Apple at a different phone number

I was looking for an episode of Gotham today and google found a one on a website called Cucirca.eu. I opened the webpage and a strange looking video player opened up with a play button and an X. I opted to X since it looked strange. The moment I clicked this, multiple pop ups appeared about malicious context or something to that tone. It stated to call Apple immediate with a toll-free number 1-800-650-4131. I was concerned about even the validity of this however so I did not call. I turned off my WiFi. Restarted my computer. Turned wifi back on and did my OS upgrade to Yosemite thinking it might be safer. I downloaded ClamXav, scanned, and no infection was found.
Nothing seems to be acting strange so far, but I was just concerned about the security of my system and wondered if there is anything else I should do to make sure there is no one seeing my information or valuable information/credit card info that I use through the internet.
Any suggestions?

That is not Apple. There are several phishing scams that direct the user to a phone 'support' number that the support person then asks you to permit them to access your computer remotely, and they then install some very, very nasty stuff. Do not call numbers from things like that.
ClamXAV is good, but if you start having adware issues, the best thing to use is go to Thomas Reed's site http://www.thesafemac.com and then his AdwareMedic link and get AdwareMedic - a very good little routine Tom has written that will block and remove adware. Tome is a regular and trusted member of the Apple Support Communities.

Have you tried connecting it to your computer and restoring the iPod via iTunes?
If iTunes does not see the iPod try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Yes, yes, yes. I am well aware about your line of Verizon is "THE Phone Company". Unfortunately, everyone was not subscribed to "THE Phone Company" back before "THE Phone Company" was broken up. Some people have lines which were not in existence and have never been subscribers to "THE Phone Company". There are new area codes and numbers since "THE Phone Company" was broken up. I was unaware Straight Talk, T-Mobile, Sprint, Time Warner Cable, MagicJack, etc... automatically provide ALL of the private information of their subscribers to "THE Phone Company" simply so these other companies can exist. I was unaware "THE Phone Company" required each and every phone provider in the US to gather information for the USER of a phone when that USER was not the account owner. I don't remember giving my 15 year old daughter's information to "THE Phone Company" when I opened up her line 5 years ago. Obviously I did, since "THE Phone Company" has it as you would lead us to believe. I wasn't aware "THE Phone Company" required someone opening an account with 10 lines to provide the private user information for each and every one of those lines. When I opened up my 4 line account, I only remember giving out MY information. I don't remember validating everyone on the account was related to me. I don't remember giving out the names/DOB/SS #/etc... for everyone using the phones on my account. That information must have simply slipped my mind.
For what it is worth, I never said they didn't have information on "every single number coming and going" thru their system. That is not the information being requested, though. The OP wants to know the name of the person making the call. If Verizon, aka "THE Phone Company" does not gather information on all users of a 10 line More Everything account from the account owner, where exactly are they getting this information. Furthermore, if they don't even gather this information of their own subscribers, why would you expect they have this information on the subscribers to other phone providers? It is not required to open a 10 line account. They do not run credit checks on all the users. They do not require SS#s on all of the users. They only require this information on the account owner. Are they staking out the account owner and following him/her to determine who is using the phones on his/her account? I guess I am simply too trusting.
You speak of "back in the way old days". Well these are no longer the "way old days". Lines on an account can be scattered all over the US. The users of these phones aren't necessarily and more often every day not even related. "THE Phone Company" doesn't necessarily and is UNLIKELY to know the identity of the majority of people using phones on an account. The account owner, yes. Everyone else, NO. People making a call are just as likely using an area code/phone number of a location they don't even physically reside. "Back in the way old days" this was much less commonplace.
Yes, they MAY be able to get the name of a caller, but it would take time and COULD take a considerable amount of time depending on the cooperation of the account owner.

HT4528 Is it possible to buy an iphone for yourself at the apple store when you're using an upgrade from a different phone number on your plan?

I broke my old phone a few days ago, and my phone number doesn't have an upgrade until the summer of next year. My dad offered me his upgrade, since he doesn't need a new phone and it would save me a few hundred dollars. Is it possible for me to go into the Apple store and purchase a new iPhone when I'm using an upgrade from a different phone number? I already cleared it over with the people at Verizon, who told me I could switch the upgrade over online.

There are 2 issues here.
Some carriers REQUIRE a data plan in order to use an iPhone on their network. This requirement will vary from carrier to carrier. The iPhone is designed to be constantly connected. If you do not manually go in and turn off cellular data (not just 3G) The phone will attempt to connect to the Internet over the cellular data network. If you have your carrier specifically block these requests, you shouldn't be charged for them. If not, it could end up costing you lots of money you didn't expect. The other thing that will happen is things like visual voicemail will not work (if the carrier supports it to begin with) and you will get lots of messages about not being able to connect to cellular data if you're not in range of WiFi you can connect to. MMS messaging also will not work.
The second issue surrounds the statement: "use the iphone 4 with a standard cdma phone plan".
It is NOT possible to purchase an unlocked CDMA iPhone. ALL CDMA iPhones are locked to Verizon.

Well your Apple ID is your email address. And to reset the password you either need to have access to the email address itself or to be able to answer the security questions. You can try calling AppleCare and see if they can help also.

Imessage using apple id and not phone number

When using imessage it is being sent from my apple id and not from my phone number, when I go in to the message settings my phone number is greyed out. Then I went into the called id and my phone number is the one listed as the caller ID yet evertying is still being sent through my apple ID

check in settings > messages > send & recieve and look for start new conversation from and you should be able to change it from there

Use his ID for Settings>Messages>Send And Recieve and for Settings>FaceTime.
If he does not have an ID then
Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

Some incoming calls and messages display the phone number instead of name

I recently upgraded from a Blackberry to an iPhone 4s. When I receive a call or SMS on the 4s it often displays only the phone number instead of the name at the top of the screen even though I the correct name and phone number are entered the correct fields in the iPhone address book. I assume there was some kind of conflict when I imported the names from the blackberry (or from my Google contacts list - I can't remember which now). Have any of you experienced this problem? How did you get it resolved?

I cannot replicate this.
If I deliberately send to my iPhone Number and reply to that (My iPhone is set to use the iPhone Number) after I have moved Messages behind another app the Notification show my Name and not the number.
I am using iCloud to sync the Contacts apps.

Can you please please tell me how to disassociate my apple id from my current phone number. I went from an iphone to a samsung galaxy and now i cannot receive all my texts from friends with iphones. they have tried adjusting their imsg's and have tried re-entering my phone number in their phone and adjusting settings... very very frustrating. I do feel i'll go back to an iphone in the next 8months however right now i need HELP with this. I still have my ipod and want to use that, jsut need help with this texting situation.

If you have multiple contacts that have a phone number in common, is it possible to decide which of those contacts is the default display name for that number?
For example, I have an entry for my wife. I also have an entry for "ICE" (In Case of Emergency). They're essentially the same. When my wife calls or texts me, the display says "ICE." I want it to say "Wife."

BTW, I am curious, do you have a passcode lock on your phone? If so, doesn't that pretty much make any ICE contact pointless since they cannot access the phone?
Understand your desire to have it there though. Also, there are apps out there (think called ICE) that can let you put a icon on your screen that says ICE and then link that to a number.
