Website does not recognize my email or password when signing in via firefox

When I try to sign onto a specific website, it does not recognize my email address or password. This only happens when I sign in through Firefox. How do I correct this?

Some sites use JavaScript to copy the name and password to another (hidden) field or use separate hint input fields for the name and password that can make Firefox store the wrong data (the password field and the input field with the Password hint text). In such a case there probably is nothing that you can do as Firefox may overwrite the name and password stored by the password editor extension immediately on the next visit.

When I click on buttons/pull down tabs on a variety of websites , I can see that I have pressed the button but the website does not recognize the action

When I have visited travel websites I can not 'click' on the Calendar. I tried to buy a book and checked off to be visit as a guest - and the website did not recognize the button I had checked off. I tried to edit on 'online profile" and the website does not recognize that I have clicked the 'edit' button.
I have not had problems before and do not understand why this has started to happen.
I am running mac osx 10.7.5 and firefox 21

If this was only on one or two sites, I'd suggest "Option #1" below and it's still a good idea. However, when several sites are involved, I begin to suspect an add-on. Hence, "Option #2" below.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r / Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
(WIN) orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced<br>
(MAC) Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

Perhaps the reason that your username and password are not recognised is because you have caps lock on.

Macbook does not recognize external USB drive - except when booting with CD

Hi all,
I recently swapped my Macbook's internal HD (Toshiba 100gb 5400 rpm) into an external USB enclosure (Eagle Consus). The computer does not recognize the external HD, even when using two USB cables for extra power. No luck with safe mode or resetting PRAM. Disk utility just hangs with spinning wheel if I start it. Switching the USB ports does not help.
I thought it might be a power problem until I noted the following:
1)The external drive works fine if I boot the Macbook from the Mac OS install CD... with this I can run disk utility and scan the drive with no problem
2)It works fine on an old Mac Mini with only ONE of the USB connectors plugged in
3)The enclosure worked fine on the Macbook when I had the new drive in it (320 GB 7200 RPM) while copying the files over
Any thoughts?

It is actually using a power supply, yet it will not actually power on unless it is connected to a computer's USB port. At least this is how it works on my old desktop running Windows 2000. When you disconnect the drive from Windows, or put the machine in hibernate mode, the device actually shuts down. It powers back up once the machine wakes up from hibernate mode.
It's a somewhat older device which predates the Macbook Pro, but it claims to support older Mac, such as the G3, G4, G5, iMac, iBook. OSX 10.0.4. So perhaps it's just too old?
It's a Buffalo HD-HB250U2 (250 GB).

Open iPhoto on your Mac. Choose iPhoto > Preferences from iPhoto's menu. Click "General". Presumably you have "Email photos using" set to "iPhoto".
Next click "Accounts" under iPhoto's preferences. Make sure your email address, password, and other account information is set up correctly. If in doubt, set it up as it is in the Mail app.

No; I do periodically, maybe 3-4 times a year to announce major changes with firm. Emails have worked in the past but possible I did them from my road runner account.

I access the RR email via the RR website, not via the Mail App.
Just hitting all angles in an attempt to eliminate

Image Capture does not recognize my CanoScan LiDE 700F after downloading pix via iPhoto.

My scanner was working fine. I downloaded some photos using iPhoto. My computer now does not recognize my scanner when I use ImageCapture. I think this happened once before but I can't remember how I remedied the situation. In researching the scanner before purchase, I discovered many reviews that indicated "don't download the software; it doesn't work: just use ImageCapture. That has worked well....until now. Any suggestions?

Try resetting the printing system. It can also affect the scanner.

Mail does not recognize my new changed password

so i had my ipad stolen today and I changed my passwords to both of my email addresses. For some reason mail does not want to sync with my gmail. It says that I have wrong username or password. My iphone doesnt accept it either... But i am able to log in in my browser. Any ideas?

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Window Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.
Should be 2 for each account, in & out, but possible to have duplicates of those.

HT5395 AFter installing IOS 7 Imessage does not recognize my Apple ID password.

Itunes and Icloud still recognizes my Apple Id password. Whenever I try utilizing Imessaging on my IMAC it shows that the account is inactive and offline. When I send a text message to another Iphone etc. from my phone and ipad mini it will only send it as a message (green bubble) and not an imessage (blue). On my Imac, I am asked to sign in with my Apple ID password. When I do I get an error message that says "server encountered an error processing registration, try again later." This has been going on for a week now.

Did the repair of the Hard Drive involve the Mother/logic board at all ?
At OS X 10.8.2 Apple introduce a security measure that involves using the Mac's Serial Number.
It is held on the main board and can be read by the Apple icon Menu > About this Mac
Click twice on the current OS X level. It will change to the Build Number (another way of counting the OS) and then to the Serial Number.
If the Number is missing you will have to visit an Apple Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) to have it put back.

That's not the problem. If you have Apple Mail, you have to separately configure the passwords for iPhoto as well. Even though you have entered your email accounts and passwords properly in the email area, you have to re-enter the correct passwwords for all the email accounts registered under iPhoto/Preferences/Accounts; make sure to save each password, then close iPhoto and reopen it. Then you will be able to send the pix!!

A website is rejecting uploaded pdf files with the error message that it is not a pdf file. The site accepts the same files uploaded with IE from the same computer. It also accepts the file uploaded with Firefox from another running Windows 7 Professional.

I think this has to do with the corruption of a mime file. Find the ".ini" file in your Firefox directory and get rid of reference to pdf's.

When you were entering your new password in mac mail for your Yahoo account, you didn't perchance change the user name from [email protected] to just name without the @att.net? I only ask because I've done that, and att.yahoo mail requires a fully qualified [email protected] for access.
In mail, you might click on window on the menu bar, then connection doctor. On the account with the red dot next to it, it will tell you why it can't connect, and if you click on it, you'll be taken to where you can fix it.

What to do when my iPod does not recognize the songs and then when connected on PC, it crashes iTunes?

Well, it all begin when I finished synching my iPod (classic 120gb) and ejected it through the iTunes. After that, I turned it on, but then it said that the iPod had no music in it. I found that strange, so I reconnected it on the PC (Windows 7), but the iTunes crashed as soon as the iPod os connected and I found that all the songs were inside the iPod (saw the files using the explorer). What can I do now to normalize it?
