Website formatting on 1080p screen

I have a 1080p laptop and firefox doesn't seem to be getting the website formatting right. The website gets skewed, as if being compressed horizontally and is placed at the center of the browser window. I have to zoom in to get it to a point where I can read the text.

I do some VJ-type work, involving playback of QuickTime files from the computer to projections, and I get good results using ProRes 422. That's convenient, because ProRes 422 is such a great editing codec, too.
Traditionally, VJs use PhotoJPEG codec, which also works well, but it's a bad editing codec. So you would have to export an edited master, then convert.
If you want it to look as good as possible, definitely schedule some time to test the footage on the wall. You may want to change the color correction of your footage to match the projectors. And if you feed the video wall some flat gray, you can see if any of the projectors need to be adjusted.
I'm not sure what application you're using for playback, but QuickTime Player 7 works well. It has an option to play fullscreen on an external monitor (View > Present Movie…).

Most websites will push a "mobile request" format, which means the website you get is formatted for use on a mobile device, should you access the site from such device. One solution would be to download a new web browser, like Chrome, which offer the option to request the website as a desktop.

Hi everyone!
In my service desk transaction monitor, when i click on one particular transaction (this problem doesnt exist with other transactions), it opens up flagging a message "Text contains formatting (see detail screen)". [Message no. COM_TEXT202]. The performance assisstant states that "The text contains formatting that cannot be displayed in Text Edit Control."
Can anyone please tell me why is this message getting displayed? And what should be done so that it doesn't appear?

On Mavericks: Wallpapers with an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 16:10, if set to "center", will either format as "fill screen" or "fit to screen". Help?

If I select a custom wallpapers with an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 16:10, if set to "center", will either format as "fill screen" or "fit to screen".
With other aspect ratios, center works as supposed to.
Ideas?

In general this script should work:

The value of 3072 is returned when 16:9 value is stored in SPRM14.
However some players may disregard this script as they might look for the presentation information in IFO files or in the video stream itself.
The better approach is to flag one subtitle stream as 16:9 and the other as 4:3 in DVD After Edit if you have an access to it.

[Solved] Movies on 1080p screen

I have a laptop with 1080p screen and Nvidia 460m card. I have install the latest nvidia drivers. When I play movies 720p and 1080p, I get something like lines on the screen when there is too much movement. These lines do not show on my second screen 1650X1050 when I play the movie. I have tried mplayer, smplayer and vlc with gpu. I guess the problem is the screen with resolution 1080p. How can I fix it?

This sounds like screen tearing. Use a search engine of your choice and search for "screen tearing" along with whatever video hardware is in play here.

How To Make Website Resize On Different Screens

Hi, I created a website on Dreamweaver CS3. The website is great and all but whenever I see it on my laptop it fits perfect on the screen but when I use a larger monitor the website looks a bit small.
I did some reading and apparently I made the mistake of using ' <none> as my layout so everything is measured on pixels. How can I make it so that the page resizes depending on the screen size?

Actually, your mistake was using Absolute Positioning for most of this which removes content from the normal document flow. You should rebuild without any positioning. Here's why APDivs are pure poison in primary layouts.

What format should Full Screen DV be imported into for editing?

I have a rather lengthy program recorded in Full Screen DV. What format should it be converted to for editing on a macbook pro? A format that has the best quality when rendered but not so taking on the computer when editing.

The video needs to be QuickTime/Apple DV codec (Apple DV-PAL if you are in Europe, Apple DV-NTSC if you are in North America).
If your video is already in that format, there is no conversion necessary or desireable.
The alternative would be QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec but if your material is already DV the conversion will cause loss of quality.

Issue with Siteground "Website Wizard" estore & PayPal Screen

We currently run a non-proft musical group (community orchestra) website on Siteground. We use the "Website Wizard" function, which lets you create and edit a website easily with canned pages using any web browser. No need to use Joomla, etc. As an option, you can use an ecommerce service such a PayPal with the "estore" page within the Wizard.
For some reason, the PayPal screen which ties to our PayPal account does not come up when our audience members use Safari to try to buy concert tickets, but the other mainstream browsers work OK (Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome for instance) with a PC or Android device.
Using my iPad, I downloaded many other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome (and others), but even they won't work on it. It is as if Safari still does certain web browser functions. The upshot is that none of our audience can use iPads, iPhones, or Macs to buy concert tickets. I am guessing that a Mac would work with another browser, but I haven't been able to test that.
Siteground tech support recently told me that the Website Wizard function will not be updated to fix the issue, so I am wondering if Safari itself can be tweaked to allow the PayPal page to come up when it is supposed to? Since the Wizard does everything for us it is all "backend" with no coding on our part. We simply select PayPal as an option for the estore and put in the PayPal account name and it does the rest - most of the time.
I am willing to work with the Safari developers to resolve the issue. We'd like to be able to keep the current Siteground account and Website Wizard setup for ease of editing our site (anyone can do it), and we'd also like our audience to be able to use their slick Apple devices to easily order concert tickets. Thanks in advance.

I can have a look at doing a direct link, but the Siteground "Website Wizard" estore function can be used to gather delivery information such as "Will Call" or sending the purchased tickets via US Mail. The estore function also sends a nice confirmation email to the audience member. Maybe PayPal would have a similar option for users with a simple direct link, so I need to look into that I guess.

Error message "unsupported image format" over red screen

Working my way through a project making corrections to a series of jpegs, when the image preview disappears and turns red with the error message "unsupported image format" in small print over the top, the thumbnail is fine and I know the image to be fine. Move on to the next 2-3 images all with the same message and then the App hangs.
Force quit and relaunch Aperture and the images are ok again.
I am assuming that the previews are corrupting and causing this. Oh the app has been hanging intermittently throughout he day, I have trashed both the pref's and the App support folder, but still I get the spinning beach ball.
Any thoughts?

I just noticed a similar problem. But for me it seems to be only for images referenced from my iPhoto library. I have not seen it yet on images imported directly into Aperture. If I click on a folder of images they appear fine at first, but if I just leave it displaying the first image after a few seconds the image disappears and displays the "unsupported image format" message over a red screen. Or it may display a random icon from somewhere in the application. And then the preview images start changing. Sometimes they change to what looks like system or application icons (arrow, the ratings "star", a printer icon, etc.)

Please help with making website compatible with all screen sizes

I have recently made a new website using both Adobe Edge Animate and Adobe Dreamweaver.
It looks great and does exactly what I want it to do for the moment. However when using the site on a large screen, anything larger than an ipad mini the site only fills a section of the screen.
Have tried to seach on google for the answer to this and came accross a number of potential solutions.
1, changing the pixel values in Dreamweaver for my site from for example "1024px" to "100%" this sadly did nothing.
2, changing the px values of the Adobe Edge Animate composition from for example "1024px" to "100%" again sadly this did nothing.
3, combining both the above to see if they had to work in conjunction with each other... again though, sadly no luck.

This is less a DW question and more of an Edge Animate question.
You need to create your Edge Animation project with % or use a Scale-to-Fit method. Manually add some breakpoints to re-scale text, etc... with CSS media queries.
