Website is slow to load when someone first connects

Greetings all. I have a strange problem. I recently installed ColdFusion 11 on a fresh test server running Windows Server 2008 and IIS7. Since this is a test server there isn't really any traffic going to it, so it probably doesn't serve pages but when I connect to it.
Now if I try to access a page after having not done anything in a while the browser will sit for about 15-20 seconds before the page loads. After that though every page loads just as fast as I'd expect. If I stop browsing the site and wait a while (not exactly sure how long, 10+ minutes?) it does the same thing.
This is only happening to the sites I have set up as ColdFusion sites. I have a test site that isn't configured via the Coldfusion tool and only has html content and it loads just fine.
I have followed the ColdFusion connector tuning found here: ColdFusion 11 IIS Connector Tuning — Adobe ColdFusion Blog and it hasn't changed the problem.
Anyone else run into this or know how I can fix it?
Thanks!

Make sure you have installed the hot fixes for Coldfusion 11 (updates 1 & 2). They are available through the Coldfusion Administrator.
The issue you described was fixed in update 1 I believe (ColdFusion 11 Update 1). Make sure you reconfigure the sites using the website connector tool when you have done the updates.

Why is it YouTube loads really slow sometimes even when I'm connected to wifi ?

Hard to say. The speed of your Internet connection. Congestion on YouTube's servers, problems at any point in between you and them... When you are connected to WiFi, you will get a substantially higher resolution version of some videos than you do on 3G.
Are you using the youtube app or are you just accessing it via a web browser.

I just bought a new laptop and my ipod nano will not stay connected to my computer. When I first connect the ipod it starts to sync on my ipod but not on itunes. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. I cannot transfer any of my songs to my new laptop because of this. I have tried to reinstall itunes, reset my ipod and use a different port. None of these things worked. Any ideas?

  • DPS builder custom html page not loaded when you first open the application

I created app with some customs html pages.
I tick the "Auto launch" and when the first time I run the application, the page does not load.
If you go to another page and return to - it is loaded. If you close the application and open it again - all loaded. But when you first open the application page does not load.
    What could be the problem?

  • Webpage very slow to load when going to the ACE

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same sort of behaviour with an ACE 4710 version A3 (2.5).
When trying to connect to a webpage on port 443, the pages over 1 minute to download fully. I have timed the download using the plug-in
firefox. What is strange is that the browser successfully makes the connection, 200OK etc,  but each 'get' takes a very long time to transfer. If I go directly to the server and don't pass via the ACE the page takes between .7 and 1 second to transfer.
Is there a way to speed this transfer up, does anyone know what the issue could be? I am currently looking at connection maps to see if this could help.
For information, there are quite a few .js files being transfered.
Any ideas or thoughts very much appreciated.
    Kind regards,

    Hi,
There is no clear evidence of the problem but this could also be due to lot of retransmits causing slowness.
Can you try the command below and see if it improves?
    host1/C1(config-parammap-conn)# set tcp wan-optimization rtt 0
Then apply this parammap to the policy-map.

  • ITunes very slow to load if internet not connected

Why does iTunes seem to hang (takes ages to load) when I start it with the internet not connected? I have disabled the check for updates. I suspect the Music Store is trying to access the internet however, there are no preferences to disable this.

  • IPod touch is REALLY slow to load and won't connect to iTunes on the PC

I have an iPod touch that won't connect to my iTunes account anymore.  It is also really really slow to load.  I have powered it down and back up and it is still really slow.  Has anyone else experienced this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Embedded swf files don't show / slow to load when viewing project online

I'm playing with the trial version of Captivate 3 and doing a
mock up of an e learning module. I have a project which is about 30
slides long and 4 or 5 of those slides have full motion recording
objects on the slide (that were created when I drag and dropped
something during the recording process). When I publish the
project, it creates a separate swf file for each of the motion
    recordings...
When I upload my published captivate project to my web server
(the html doc, main swf, and supporting swfs), everything plays
fine until I get to one of the slides that had one of the full
motion recordings on it. When I get to those slides, the captions
keep appearing, the audio keeps playing, etc. but the slide is
blank - the full motion recording doesn't load.
It appears that it just hasn't loaded yet, because if I try
running the whole thing again, then it works fine!
It's like the supporting SWF file hadn't finished loading but
the main swf just kept on going...
This seems like a really big bug to me? I'm pulling my hair
    out :(
Is there a way to compile the whole project into 1 SWF file?
Is there a way to embed the SWF files into the main SWF file so it
is taken into account when preloading?
Thanks to anyone who has some advice!! help!
    Gaspar

    Hi Gaspar,
Are you using a preloader for the project? If so, the default
one in Captivate waits for 60% of the project to load before
playing. Perhaps try to add the preloader if you aren't using one,
or remove it if you are to see if that makes a difference. In
Captivate 3, you can change this option in Preferences -->
Project --> Start and End --> Loading Screen.
    Good luck,
    David
Edit: I just tried this too and got the same results when
publishing with all versions of Flash - I was a little surprised to
see it even with Flash 7 exports, because Captivate has let me
embed .swf animations into a single .swf project file using Flash
    7. I'm guessing that whatever Flash "engine" Captivate uses to
create its own FMV .swfs must be Flash 8 or 9. That would be
something that would be nice to adjust - especially because of the
lack of the ability to merge .swf files into one file. I guess I'll
    send a feature request again...

  • Videos slow to load when compared with desktop / laptop

    Hello
I have a video online which when I watch via my iPad takes about 15 mins to fully load in. If I watch the same video via my Macbook laptop, the video loads in straight away and will stream in.
Both laptop and iPad are connected to the same WiFi network and the video is being accessed at the same time.
Any idea why the iPad takes up to 3 times longer to stream in?
    Cheers
    Dom

  • Firefox 6.8 is taking 5 minutes or longer to load when I first start my computer (a 5-year-old Dell running XP).

Once it finally loads it works fine. I'm using Comodo firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials.

I can just about guarantee you it's your security system (and possibly the number of items you have initiated at start up) that is delaying the start up of your machine. I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate (over a Windows Vista Home Premium) and it did not load properly because of features of Norton 360 even though I had (in theory) disabled Norton 360 during the installation of Windows 7. It was taking 28 minutes to start up. Microsoft representative fixed it by disabling/removing Norton 360 and it took about less than one minute to start up (and fixing some inconsistencies with Windows 7 during the installation). By re-enabling Norton 360 after it was reinstalled it now takes about 3+ minutes to start up. So security devices I am guessing adds about 2.5 to 3 minutes of start up time. My computer is relatively new and almost all start up devices are disabled so that could explain why yours may be taking a bit longer.
The other thing you can try doing is go to the Windows box in the lower left corner click it, go t a ll programs, go to accessories and click it to open, go to Run, and type in msconfig and then hit enter. A box should appear, go to the Start up box and see what devices are starting up with your computer. Your computer will start up without any of these checked so uncheck them all and see how long your computer takes to start up. Then do it again after disabling Microsoft Security Essential and your firewall. That should give you a good idea now much additional time the security features are taking to start up your computer.
Hmmmm... why do PC's take so long to boot up and my wife's iPad is instant start and I can be on the web via safari in under 15 seconds. I wonder .....

  • ITunes slow to load when internet is not connected

If your internet connection is off and iTunes 6 is taking ages to load then go to iTunes Preferences / General and uncheck "Automatically check for iTunes Updates".

You can try a reset of your phone (no data will be lost). Hold down the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo appear - then release both buttons.  Allow the phone to restart and then see if it has solved the problem.

  • How do I get Airport Utility to recognise my TimeCapsule when I first connect it?

I have followed the instructions in the setup guide and on the apple website but still my Time Capsule just flashes amber.  When I press 'rescan' in Airport Utility, it says it is unable to locate any wireless devices.
I have connected my ethernet cable from my wireless modem/router to my time capsule and plugged the time capsule in to the power.  Before connecting it to the time capsule, the ethernet cable connected my wireless modem/router to my iMac.  Now there is nothing connecting my iMac to my modem/router.
I am thinking maybe there is something not set up correctly with the Airport and wireless settings on my iMac but I don't know what they would be.  When I got it, I just plugged my modem into the back with the ethernet cable and it worked.  I also have a laptop that I connect wirelessly to the modem.
I have AppleCare for my iMac but I don't think it covers extra hardware like the Time Capsule.  I bought the Time Capsule in August last year from JbHifi so I don't know if I can take it to an Apple store and get them to help me.  Since August last year I have not been able to make it work or connect to my iMac.
    Please help!!!

run another ethernet cable from one of the TC's LAN port's () to your iMac. that should enable airport utility to see the device.
besides, you should really make your initial time machine backup using a hardwired connection. subsequent backups are incremental and can be done over wifi.
