Website not appearing on iWeb

I created a website on iWeb and published using my own domain name. I can find it on my iDisk but it is not showing up on iWeb. I searched using users/library/applicationsolutions/iweb and it is still not showing up. How can I find and make changes to the site.

No, iWeb can't edit published files. Are you using time machine or any other kind of back up software?
If so you might find a backup of the file there. If you can't find the file you will have to start over.
my file is named exactly: Domain.sites2
Can you find a file that's named something like that?
If you do have to start over, don't publish to mobile me until you're sure you like the new site better than the old one. Once you publish to mobileMe the new work will overwrite the old one, otherwise the old site will remain as it is on mobileMe.

Did you just publish the site?
It does not happen instantly, you have to wait for google to find the site and index it. That or you set up google webmaster tools and tell google about the site's existence.
You also need to know your talking about xero which is a big search term.

Iphoto does not appear in iweb media browser

I am just getting started w/ iWeb anad have 2 questions:
1. I have iPhoto 6.0.6. My iPhoto library does not appear in the iWeb media browser. How do I fix this?
2. Why can't I highlight a movie from my iPhoto library and publish it to iWeb? How do I get a movie from iPhoto to iWeb?

Where are your images sourced from? Are they all coming from the same camera for example? It could be that there is actually a white border on your images.
Try opening a few images up in an image editor and checking if there is a trim around the edge.

Website not appearing on Firefox for Mac?

My company has just launched our new website www.robotandspark.com - which loads correctly the first time you view it, but if you close the window, open a new one and type the URL, the page appears blank (white). Is this a Firefox or a website issue? Thanks

Aperture does not appear in iWeb.

i've got the newest updates installed but aperture still fails to appear on my iweb 2.0. what should i do?

Also, I think the image ordering issue is a bug in iWeb. Hopefully it will be corrected in the next version. I don't recall any specific way to maintain the order of images in iWeb.

ITunes not appearing in iWeb Media Pane

Make sure you run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
I seem to remember that the last iLife update required a lot of permission repairs related to the media viewer.
If that doesn't do it, you may have to try reinstalling. Before doing this, make sure that this problem is not just related to iWeb. Look to see if the media window is functioning correctly in the other iLife apps.

Favicon will not appear on iweb/moblie me published page

I've researched this quite a bit and tried every option from including html snippets on every page, to uploading the .ico and editing the .htmls at the root of my idisk. I've also tried using itweak. I still can't manage to get it to work. I have a personal domain name (www.SailorMoonTheMovie.com) that is set up to forward to my published mobile me page (web.me.com/davidparitsky/sailormoon) which I've read can cause problems with having favicons. I have only a very basic knowledge of html and really just want to know if it's even possible to have the favicon with a forwarding personal domain to a mobile me site before I go crazy trying to figure it out on my own. I really appreciate it!! Thanks!!

It doesn't work in Firefox either. It looks like your CSS file is declared incorrectly. In the ran.css file you have the <style> tags - those shouldn't be in there, just the CSS selectors should be.
PS. If the site is meant for general public consumption you might want to offer an option to mute the music

Publishing a website not designed in iWeb

I have a small site that I designed in GoLive. I want to upload it to .mac account and without using any of the templates offered there. Is this possible to do? How can it be done? Thanks

You question is probably best asked in one of the .mac forums, but I can give you a brief answer here. I don't know anything about GoLive or how it "publishes." But you can copy/save html files to the Sites folder of you iDisk. They will then have a homepage url. For example:

Navigation Bar does not appear on website after upload

I use i-web to create my website, save it to a folder and then upload to the web using GoDaddy. For some reason, the navigation bar at the top of every page does not appear. Instead, there's a black dot to the left of the page. When in the i-web program NavBar is there and functions normally. I just redesigned my website and uploaded everything and had this problem. It's never happened before. Can anyone help?

One frequent reason for that is the fact that not all the files in the Scripts folder for the site are getting uploaded. While viewing the site bring up the Activity Window (Command+Option+A) and see if any of the files are listed as missing. If there are you'll need to upload the Scripts folder to the server.
If you're using iWeb the only option there is to try the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option.
Or, you can publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck to upload just the Scripts folder to the server.

I have recently created a website for my family's business. When we bought the Macbook the guy in Apple said the best way to send an email campaign to our mailing list was to publish a hidden page, find it in the browser on Safari, then share it via email, so that is what I do. For most of my customers this works fine, however I have a number of people each month who cannot see any of the content of the email. I have added an 'If you can't see this email properly...' link at the top of the page, with no shapes or images etc near it, but even that does not appear for them.
I am a self-taught novice unfortunately, so haven't a clue what the problem is. I'm not sure of the operating system, but we bought the Macbook in May and it has all the recent updates installed. I have just had a new baby so can't get into the store fdor a one-to-one, so if anyone could explain why this happens / what I can do about it, I would be very grateful! Thanks!

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

Changes to website do not appear on MY desktop (they do on others)

I have a website (not on a mac server, a .org address) which I set up and edit using iweb.
When I update a page or create a new blog page, it updates the website but the new content does not show when I go to the website on my Imac. It does update and show on my husbands computer, so I know the website is updating.
Also, when the new blog comes into my inbox (RSS feed) the photo I have dragged into the image place holder does not show, just the original one from the proforma page (a surfer!) but the correct one shows on the blog page online.
Any ideas what's wrong?

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.
If you created a new account then you can log out of the old account and in with the new one as above, but any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can re-download its content and download updates to its apps.

Website suddenly not appearing correctly in Firefox under Windows 7

I've had a website running for a couple of years now with no problems, but one of my clients sent me an email saying it's not appearing correctly on her system, Windows 7 runnning Firefox v. 15. I am on a MAC and have looked at the site on 4 different browsers and it looks fine, I also installed Firefox (v. 16) on a PC running Windows 7 and it looks fine there. Near as I recall I haven't made any changes to the site's structure, so I'm stumped. The website is http://www.horizonwings.org. Can anyone help? I've attached a couple of screen captures showing what she sees. Thank you.

I see the same problem as your client in Firefox 16 on Windows 7. To fix the problem, add clear: left to the style for leftColMain
