Website says we don't have a BT Line, but we do, a...

This issue is slightly complicated so buckle yourself in...
We have Virgin Cable Phone but we're disconnecting on the 29th. Before we went from O2 to Virgin we had our BT Line disconnected. 
A couiple of days ago we ordered O2 Broadband and Phone, our broadband has yet to be activated but our phone line has been activated, but that phone lnie (O2) has a different number,obviously, from our Virgin Phone Line which is still active.
So at the moment we have 2 phone numbers and 2 phone lines. When we asked O2 if we could change our number to our original one they said they couldn't do that, so we phoned up BT. I was doubtful they'd give a different response but they said they should be able to. I'm still doubtful, but they gave me an option to break the contract if they were unable to get our number.
When we asked O2 why they couldn't give us our original number they said that Virgin has the number, and they wouldn't 'release' it. We tried to cancel our O2 contract, they said we can only do that once the broadband has been activated, which I think is rubbish and just a waste of time. After I cancel I will re-order O2 Broadband (sorry BT :/) but get phone from BT, not O2 (hurrah ). So firstly, will I be able to keep my phone number, from Virgin to BT?
We decided to order our BT Phone now, even though our O2 Package wouldn't be activated until the 13th, and probrably not cancelled until the 15th or even later. But when I went onto the website to order, if I picked a -only phone- package, it said we didn't have a BT line, and I put down both phone numbers we have (Virgin Phone number which is the one I want to keep, and the O2 one.)
When I went to Broadband and Phone packages, and when I put in my phone number to check for Infinity, if I put in either my VM or O2 phone number, it works. Have I missed something or is this a problem on BT's end?

If Virgin currently own the telephone number, then it's up to them to allow you to move it to O2. Just because you had that number with BT before, they can't do anything about it now that it's a virgin telephone number.
If you do bring your number to BT, again this shouldn't be a problem. I believe it's up to the gaining SP to contact the current owner of the telephone number and request it to be ported over.

  • Firefox download has a circle with line through it, and says I don't have the right "architecture", but previous Firefox worked fine so HELP!

Window where I drag icon to applications folder has a line and a circle over the Firefox. when I attempt to drag it to the folder, it says there is a newer version already there and do I want to replace it. When I replaced it with your new download a window came up that said I don't have the proper architecture to run this. I am using Mac 10.5.8. Please fix this!   • Apple website says I don't have Quicktime 7

    I downloaded Quicktime Player and made sure it was up to date so that I could watch videos on the Apple website, but it still says "Quicktime 7 required". I've uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime many times to try and get it to work, but it didn't work. ???

    The fafsa.gov site does not currently support Firefox newer than version 3.6.x. That is their choice.
    You can install Firefox Portable version to use only on that site and use your installed Firefox 5 for everything else. Firefox Portable installs in a separate folder on your hard drive so that it does not interfere with your Firefox 5.0.1 settings or personal information (bookmarks, passwords, etc.). You can also install Firefox Portable on a USB/thumb/pin drive.

    I have upgraded to newer versions of firefox on this computer several time before and never had this problem. I don't know what privileges I need or how to get them.

    If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

  • Site says I don't have reader, but I do

    I am trying to download some documents from a website and it requires that I have adobe reader. I am using internet explorer and I have both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader, yet the site says I don't have it and that I need to download it in order to view and or print my documents.
    Does anyone know what to do to solve this??

    There is a very good chance you are experiencing a problem with having both Reader and Acrobat installed on the same machine.
    You need to remove one and repair (or possibly reinstall) the other. It isn't recommended or supported to have both.

    I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned.     Working on that now.  I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage.  Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

Because of my disability, I've been having someone come in to clean, and the shelves where I kept my software packages were cleared. I've been hunting for them ever since, but I can't look for them myself for very long at a time. Today I finally found them, but now I can't seem to contact tech support. What happened? I don't want to delete my old files because I need the setup to remain unchanged, because I don't do well with changes. I think all I should need is to have someone located the license file on drive E: and move it to wherever it is needed on the SSD drive, but I don't know what to look for.

    Tech support is not normally available on weekends.  You should contact them as soon as the weekend passes and pick up where you left off with them.

    In general, you don't need drivers for camcorders on Macs, and the .exe file you downloaded is a Windows program, which won't run on a Mac unless you also have Windows installed.
    It would help a lot if you tell us the exact model camcorder you are using, and what application you want to use it with.
    Regarding iTunes, the latest version is iTunes 11.  You need to have OS X 10.6.8 or later to install iTunes 11.  Your profile says you have OS X 10.4.11, which is a much older version of OS X, so you won't be able to install iTunes 11.  (Here are the iTunes 11 specs.)
