Website search-fields

Hello - and Happy New Year!
I'm currently using Firefox as my main browser for my iBook.
There's probably a flash word or phrase for this but... when I type into a search field it anticipates what I want to type based on my previous searches.
Sometimes this is useful, sometimes there are things written there which, for security or privacy, I don't want to appear.
I don't really want to clear the entire cache of searches (though I shall if that is the only option) but i would like to delete certain things.
Is there a way of doing this?

You can't edit it but you can turn the suggestion feature off.
In Firefox's address bar type about:config and press return. In the search box at the top of the window that opens type search. Double click on browser.search.suggest.enabled and its value will change from True to False, disabling the feature.

Go to Freefind.com. Their free search engine has a few text ads on the results pages. The paid version is add free. Customize the look, and search features any way you wish. After they spider your site (usually within 24 hours), people will be able to search your site. You can see a working example on my site alt-web.com

some homework
before diving in. Your server host should offer some info for
setting-up
your remote database.

Firefox updated last night to 11.0, and now whatever website I'm on, the writing appears as gibberish or all broken up until I mouse over it. This happens on tabs, the facebook sidebar tickers, search fields, you name it. Very strange...

Things appear fine as I type them, but after a while, I will look up at a tab or search field, and the writing appears strangely. If I mouse over the gibberish text, it will return to normal.

How to disable placeholder text in the URL and search fields of the navigation bar?

Everytime I open a new tab (frequently, home page is set to blank) I have to look at "Go to a Website" in the navigation bar. The search field shows the name of the currently active search engine until text is inputed. All I want is to be able to do is disable the placeholder text, showing both fields as blank.

Thank you. Worked fine. For anyone who comes across this in the future, change "graytext" to "transparent" to hide the placeholder all the time. As is above, the placeholder shows when the mouse points at the box.

Dynamically bind website text field values to PDF document

Hi there,
I am in search of a step by step tutorial on how to generate a pdf document based on values from website text fields.
I have a form produced in Live Cycle Designer ES3 and a website in which we insert test results for our company to a MySql database.
My thoughts was that when we have inserted values on the website we could have a link to the pdf document and the same values would
somehow magically appear on the pdf. Have read somewhere that this can be done with XML and the use of different 3rd party programs.
Is this possible?
What approach would be the easiest? Perhaps someone knows about a tutorial on the matter?
Data is stored from PHP website to MySql database. Website produced in Dreamweaver CS5

It's possible with an XFA form as well as an AcroForm, but to do the work on a server additional software is needed as you mentioned. Adobe's offering is in their LiveCycle lineup and possibly . Others from third-parties include FDFMerge, PDFlib, iText, Debenu Quick PDF Library, and others. The idea is you merge the data with the PDF on the server and serve it up or save it on the server and provide a link on the HTML page that's returned. Documentation for these libraries will include samples, but you'll also have to learn how to do this securely if that's important for the system you're putting together.

Editing Form Field color and search field

They look dark blue to me. Disable your Google toolbar.

Where is the search field in Safari 6.0?

I have completed the Apple Software update today of several programs, but have not yet updated to MT. Lion. My Safari browser now seems to be lacking a search box/field in the upper right. I think that prior to the update there was such a box in the upper right of the url address box. Can this be restored, or am I imagining things? Thanks.

The search field is now part of the address bar. Putting anything into it other than a website address will perform a Google search.

Website search term code

I have a website with a search field that uses some basic sql
to search the
web database.
For marketing purposes and to understand our customer better,
we want to
learn what our customers are searching for on our website.
Whats the best way do you think to achieve this?
I could write each and every search term into a database?
(cumbersome and
database table would grow out of control)
OR
I could put the search term and pass it as a url variable in
the url
string. Then i could view google analytics and view the more
popular url
strings. eg: www.xxxx.com/search.cfm?search=hard hats (bit
clunky)
Can anyone suggest a better way of doing this?

why not use a database?
handling huge amounts of data is what they're for , right?
you could keep it cleaner by going relational - just a
thought
when somebody enters a search, check the 'search terms'
table... if it
does not already exist, insert it.
then, add a record to the 'searches run' table, with the ID
of the term
and the date, whatever other info you want.
a simple query can pull all terms and a count of searches run
for that
term's ID, or a list of dates, whatever... i think that's how
I'd
approach it, if nothing better turns up...

Safari - Search field has disappeared

Trying to put a website in "Top Sites" but instead I heard the whoosh! sound and the search field disappeared.
How do I get the search field back? I already reset Safari, checked the menu, I can't figure it out.

Add a search field

I'am designing a Muse website. I added a page 'People' were i want to have a lot of information.
Those people are organized by Name artist, year, designed etc.
For example:
Name artist: Billy
Year: 2006
Designed: Painted canvas
I almost have 500 artists.. i want to add a search field on this specific page, so you can search trough them by: Name, year, designed.
Can anyone help me how i can do this?

When searching for a feature, the templates are certainly not the best objects to study.
It would be more efficient to search in the help or in the PDF User's Guide.
In a Spreadsheet, there are no fields but cells.
In the User's Guide,the cells formats are described from page 56 thru page 63.
If I read well nothing resemble to what you describe but it would be safe to read these pages by yourself, maybe I missed something.

In addition to this, we also put the trace on the application. During the trace analysis we found that the RFC: HRXSS_CAT_WD_F4_SELFLD_DEFAULT doesn't seem to get called.
Not sure what could be the issue.

Issue with custom search fields in agent inbox

Hi All,
I am working on CRM agent inbox 7.0. The issue I am facing is like this:
I have added custom search fields in inbox. When give a combination of standard search field and custom search field, the result is only based on standard field. The value of custom field is not considered.
Is this a standard behaviour? Are standard fields given higher priority that custom fields?
Any pointers on this would be highly helpful.

Did you add custom field using AET? If yes then while adding custom field using AET did you make it search and result relevant?
There is nothing like priority in standard SAP fields and custom fields.

How to set focus on specific search field in FPM's search guibb?

Is there any way to set the input focus to a specifc search field in an FPM's search guibb? I found that there is a godd way for forms by using the IO_EXTENDED_CTRL object in the GET_DATA function. But it seems that there is no corresponding way to do for search forms. Any other idea?

Hello Venkatesh. Yes that code does work. First I tried it on a table cell that was already rendered and it did work. The next time I tried it on a table row that was being added and it did not work there. So I added an on after rendering function for the table and added that code there. That did not work until I added a delay (timeout) to do a context switch before calling the focus and that worked.
Once last thing though sometimes when I call focus on an input field (actually in a table row cell) if the field has text in it already the flashing cursor is at the beginning of the text and other times it is at the end of the text (which is the desired way). It depends on where I click in the row. Is there anyway to make sure the flashing cursor is at the end of the text when the focus is applied to a field that contains text?
