Website works on a mac, has problems on a pc

hello - i recently published a website and it looks fine on my mac but is not working on pc's. when the page loads on a pc, the page comes up for a split second how it looks on my mac - but then it snaps back to two main problems:
1. any image on a page will come up with the proper brightness and color and then after a moment will go to a dark version that is hard to read.
2. any font on a page will come up looking as it did when i laid it out, and then after a moment it will wrap and not be centered as i had designed it.
the website does this for each page. then once you go back to that page again it doesnt even show the original design for that split second. it just remembers the way the pc had adjusted it.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

#1 - PCs are generally set to a gamma level of 2.2 which is darker than the Mac standard of 1.8. You can calibrate your monitor to set it at 2.2 and see if that looks anything like what you see on the PC.
#2 - are you using a web safe font?

Make sure you've upgraded to iWeb 2.0.4, make a minor change to each page and do a Publish All to MobileMe. Try the PC again. As for the darkness, see if other PCs are as dark. What version of IE is on the PC? I hear that IE 7 is more compatible with iWeb sites than previous versions. Turning Power on the Mac Has Problems

I would like to know if any one has exeperienced this problem where you turn off the power on your Mac and when you go to start it up, the Mac does not start back up. There is no chime, It just hangs there. I had it in the shop for 3 weeks. Apple people replaced the logic board and ram and a procesor. That was not the problem. When I got it back I had the same problems.

I'd suggest you call Apple, politely inform them you've tried their way, it didn't work, and now you'd appreciate it if they would _come to your location_ and do one of the following:
1) Fix your Mac.
2) Replace your Mac.
It's only a phone call, and it might work. You have a very reasonable case to make. New Mac under warranty, serious failure, repair shop couldn't fix it.
If you do this, please report back and tell us whether Apple agrees.

One Z10 works fine, the other has problems connecting to mobile network

Hi, my wife and I both have Z10's, and we're both on the same mobile network (Wind Mobile in Canada). The wife's Z10 seems to have no problems connecting to or staying connected to Wind Mobile. Mine on the other hand seems to randomly drop the connection, or has trouble obtaining connection, and sometimes ends up roaming.
The only difference between the two Z10's is that hers is purchased through Wind Mobile itself, and it is locked to their network for the moment. I purchased mine a bit later, and I bought mine directly through Blackberry's online store, and mine is therefore unlocked. What I have to do sometimes is turn off the mobile connection, and turn it back on, and it works after I do that. However, that's annoying, as I'd rather have it automatically retry the network connection so that it doesn't go roaming within my own city.

If you're passing by a Wind store in the near future, why not drop in and ask if they'll swap SIM cards for you? It could be something with the SIM.
In the meantime, try resetting your phone. This is equivalent to doing a battery pull and it's usually the first thing I recommend when troubleshooting an issue. Simply press and hold your power button for about 15 seconds until you see BlackBerry on your screen. Don't release the button before that and ignore anything that appears before BlackBerry.

Why has Safari stopped loading the website managebac? all other websites work but this one has stopped loading. I have reset safari, deleted cookies etc. Help!

We use Managebac at the school where I teach and the website loads with my password and username on another teachers mac. However, it has stopped loading on mine. Any ideas?

Spotlight works once, then Mac has to be rebooted for it to work again

I have a G5 Dual 1.8GB. This has started happening over the last 3 days.
Spotlight will do a search, maybe even 2 or 3 searches, but the next search comes up with nothing. The G5 has to be restarted for Spotlight to work.
Tried the fsck thing...
I've checked thru 5 of the previous pages and found that Spotlight often doesn't work and that no-one has solved the problems according to the star logo.

Any symptoms?
Have you installed, updated, or changed anything in the last four days?
Have you had any crashes?
Did you attached anything?
Is your system clock on time?
Has your cat stepped on the keyboard?
As for the last 5 over again. Perhaps read a few more, and even visit a few other forums. Notice how often we tend to check that the "problem was solved." Most often it was more a user problem.

Panasonic KX-p7105 printer won't work on new mac - has disk for Mac OS 9.2

I finally switched to a Mac and am so disappointed that my great laser printer won't work. It prints pages of gibberish. My driver disk is for an older version of mac and won't open. I get a message saying "You can't open the network setup tool because the classic environment is no longer supported." I've since searched the net for drivers and can only find windows versions. Is this hopeless? Should I return my Mac (I'm still within the 14 days and don't want to buy another laser printer).

Without Safari for Windows, how will I be able to ensure my website works on the mac?

I build website templates and modern web apps for a living and use HTML5 and CSS3 extensively.
I've experienced that with those new technologies there are often minor differences and bugs between Safari and Chrome altough they both use the Webkit rendering egine.
The version of the engine not being the same I often find akward behaviours which I also report to apple.
Now, not having Safari 6 for windows, how am I supposed to develop websites for the mac? This is not just software that is OSX specific, we are talking about websites here. Many new websites might just break in safari.
Please apple at least bring a dev tool to windows. A Window, an url bar, dev tools and the Safari rendering engine. No need to build something fancy

Will Apple TV work if my Mac has an external hard drive?

Planning to get a big external hard drive to house all my media.
Will AppleTV be able to see my iTunes content if all the content is on the external drive?

Absolutely.
It does not matter where the media is stored so long as itunes can access it.
External USB/Firewire drives are generally fine with all but the oldest computers.
Network storage generally also works but does in effect double network traffic so if the network is already stretched speed wise this can give less than optimal performance but one rarely hears of problems in practice.

I have an I MAc with lion. And i Buyed an HP Photosmart 210a but the software on the CD id not completly with lion only with snow leopard.
Since this time i put the CD in the MAc my mac has Problems When i Startet Itunes he is running slowly and made e e e e e e e e.
The Software updater on mac show me every time the same Printer Software Update is For Update Ready, But every time he say it is finisched update but when i make a new search for updates he show me the same update is avaible for install.
When i Close down the mac and start new is the same problem.

I've got the same problem on my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and Gutenprint 5.2.5 when printing on the 7150 - it prints about 10% (and skewed at that) and spits out the page. This occurs when printing from any app.
I am only able to print in draft mode which is not suitable for anything I need to do.
I realize this printer is no longer officially supported, but any help would be appreciated!

All my markers on a given piece of audio allows me to left click to highlight the time signature until my audio reaches the one hour point. From there on, the left click will not give me the drop down menu in order to copy and then paste into an Excel sheet I then have to submit for the proofing purposes. After the one hour mark, I can only control/c in order to highlight, then when I slide up to my Excel sheet, I'm able to right click and paste. Why is the program not, all of a su allowing me to left cllick the mouse and have a drop down menu give me the option to "copy, " as it does for any time signature markers up to 1:00:00.000?

Which version of Audition? With the latest version of Audition running on a Windows 7 machine I can't get a dropdown menu at all when I left click on the time in Markers List. The only way to do it is with cntrl-c.

I have a MacBook Air which has a camera installed in it but it doesn't seem to work for some things like iMovie and my security camera for emergencies. It does however seem to work for Photobooth and facetime. Please write back and help my mac's problems.

There seems to be a block with the Internet server in the United States as other Internet and cell servers i.e. Verizon and Century-Link DSL work with Mac, Andriod and PC. It just seems to be Mac on Comcast that is not...
Without more data I'm inclined to say it's more likely to be Comcast itself, rather than 'Macs on Comcast'.
For example, do other devices (PCs, Android, iOS) on that Comcast network also have problems connecting? or do they connect fine?
I'd expect that any device at that network has a problem, which indicates a problem with Comcast. It might be their DNS not resolving properly, or them not routing data correctly, but that should be your focus.
Perform a DNS lookup on the www.gordonbennett2012.ch hostname. What result do you get? Is it the expected address?
If that returns the right address, what do you get with a traceroute?
That will test the routing befween your system and the server, and may indicate other problems on the network.
