WebSphere EAS 4 supports EJB 2?

Hi!
I recently started working on EJB, pls bear with me.
Does the Websphere Enterprise Application Server 4 have support for EJB 2.0 ?
The docs I looked at shows support only for EJB 1.1. Pls confirm.
Also is there a version of EAS that supports EJB 2?
Regards,
Mathew

WS5 is in Beta version.
We will start the Beta test as closed beta testers on monday 22 April.
Have to wait.

  • Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?

    Hi all,
I want to develop an application using EJB 3.
I was planning on using JBOSS 4.0.4 as application server, but I am not sure whether EJB 3 is fully supported.
Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?
    Thanks

Just install it using the EJB3 profile in the installer. Don't use the "All" profile
and think EJB3 is included in it :)

  • Will 11g have an update & be supporting ejb 3.1 when it is released ?

I am trying to plan for a project that will require 3.1 to be used.

Do you have any Servers that support EJB 3.1 yet?
We are planning to pick-up new Java EE technologies along the way, but it won't make sense to have the tools if we don't have a server that supports deployment of the applications you built with the tool.
At this stage I don't think we can commit to the specific date when EJB 3.1 will be included in JDeveloper.

  • Does NW o4s (SP9) support EJB 2.1 specifications , if not , what is remedy

Hi all, can any one tell me whether SAP NetWeaver O4s  SP 9 , supports EJB 2.1 specs, if not then what is remedy

Okay. I take this to mean that unlike RMI, objects that are passed remotely,
EJB remite method calls with objects as parameters may be regularly java objects?
I merely ask, because my text mentions:
    "Remote Method Parameters"
    - You can pass any of the native types (int float, double, boolean, and so on) but any
objects you pass must implement java.io.Serializable or java.rmi.remote.
Admittedly, this is for the old RMI where a stub was necessary,
however my doubt arises because EJB 2.1/3.0 is based on RMI.
So, I take that this is uneeded for EJB Remote Method object parameteters?

  • Which all Application servers supports EJB 3.0?

Can anyone tell me, which all application servers support EJB 3.0?
    Thanks in advance!!!

Come on man, this is not a programming problem. All you need is a simple google query to get all your answers.
I think you'll find that most popular application servers support it. At least JBoss and Weblogic do.

  • Does OAS9i(oc4j) support EJB Local interface?

Hi, I'm trying to use the petstore 1.3 framework on oc4j. I read the documentation, and know that it supports EJB 2. But I find the ejb local interface isn't supported.
    Am I right?

    Hi Patrick,
As far as I know, OC4J only partially implements EJB 2.0 -- it
doesn't implement local interfaces. However, there are several,
different versions available. Which version are you using?
If you haven't already found it, there is a version of the pet
store application available for download from:
    http://technet.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/oc4j/content.html
but it's an implementation of the 1.1.2 version.
    Hope this helps,
    Avi.

  • Does Tomcat support EJB's?

Does Tomcat support the deployment of EJB's? If so how do you go about deploying them. i cant seem to find anything on the apache web site

    Hi,
Does Tomcat support the deployment of EJB's? If soNo, Tomcat is the open source servlet Container by Apache and to my knowledge they dont have any ejb Container as open source,so you have to make the tomcat configure with the EjbContainer for EJB to be deployed.......
how do you go about deploying them. i cant seem to
find anything on the apache web siteYou require the EJB Container for deploying the EJB's.You can go for Jboss,Weblogic,Websphere.....

Can any one have any pointers
In case of more details. Please let me know ASAP.

    Hi,
This is an issue related to classpath. Make sure that all the jars required are placed in your classpath, specially j2ee.jar, bootstrap.jar and so on I don't remember the names.

  • Does Websphere Embedded Messaging support standalone creator/consumer?

    Hi Guys,
From internet I see some articles talking about limitation of Websphere Embedded Messaging, that it only supports communications between applications hosted on two or more WAS server in same cell. My question is, can I write a standalone message creator/consumer, looking for embedded messaging service from JNDI, and use it?
    Very thx!
    Qin

Could you give us some more detail, such as jndi properties, waht jar files we need?
    Great appreciated!!!

  • Does weblogic 12.1.3 supports EJB 2.0?

    Hi,
I am trying to migrate from weblogic 8.1 to weblogic 12.1.3.
We are using EJB 2.0. While deploying the application the EJBs are getting deployed without error but the EJB JNDI names are null.
Can anyone tell me whether EJB 2.0 is supported by weblogic 12.1.3?

Yes: As long as there is one server in the cluster still running, the timers will still function,  the application may run slower though. When all servers in the cluster stop, the timers will stop running.  When at least one of the servers in the cluster restarts again, the timers will start running.
Check: JEE blog: How to use EJB 3 timer in a weblogic 10 cluster environment

  • Does JDev 9.0.3 support EJB Local Interfaces?

Hi everyone, we are very interested in using local interfaces for our EJB's to set up and use a standard set of server beans that will run in each server. I did not see any reference to local interfaces in any of the release notes on version 9.0.3.
Does anyone know? And if not, does anyone know when they might be supported?
    TIA for any responses.

Yes. Local interfaces for EJBs are supported.

  • Comm. between Websphere Portal Server and EJB on WLS8.1

We are trying to get a portlet running on Websphere Portal Server 5.1 to make an RMI/IIOP call on an EJB on WebLogic Server 8.1. Currently it is failing to even establish a connection and get the initial context. Any ideas on configuring the two servers so this communication can take place?

this communication can take place? There are some known issues in both WAS 5.1 and WLS 8.1, you should
try getting the latest service packs for these products before
    attempting this.
You may also be falling foul of security issues, its worth trying to
turn off security to start with.

  • BPM start event(start condition) doesn't support ejb function call?

    Hi all,
An id is included in the ws call to trigger the bpm flow,
I have developed a ejb function, which is doing a simple check whether the process for the specific id is called before or not.
I have a simple table in bpm java server which records the id used before.
the ejb is called in the start condition, my desired behavior is: if the ejb returns true, no process should be triggered.
but the thing is, my flow is not getting triggered once I put the ejb call in the start condition.(ejb is called, as i can see new id record inserted into my db table)
I cannot even debug the process.
I can debug the process if that ejb call is removed from the start condition.
    my server is 7.31 sp8
    Best regards,
    Jun

Thanks for confirming Jun Wu.... always comforting to see even the experts can stuff it up from time to time... and very glad you were able to fix it!
