WebUI Logon language Dropdown shows junk values

Hi
While Internet explorer language is set as Chinese , I am trying to logon into webUI with Chinese its showing a junk values in language dropdown list on logon page.
While IE with English, Its showing proper list in language dropdown.
Do I need to setup anything from CRM backend or internet explorer?

The problem is in detail here
1. The users are setup IE with Language-Chinese ( through IE--> Internet options > General> Languages --> Chinese)
2. When they opens with CRM_UI or WebUI URL, It shows the Junk values in language dropdown list.
If users are setup IE with Language-English( through IE--> Internet options > General> Languages --> English), Its working fine...Means open with CRM_UI or WebUI URL its shows proper language dropdown list.
what could be the problem?

We are upgrading ECC from EHP6 to EHP7. We have custom data source which is build on custom Info set and Info set is built on Pooled table ZXXX. Datasource is showing the junk values in RSA3 after upgrade. I have re-generated the Info set and tested but no use. Below is the RSA3 data screen shot. Can anyone suggest me to oversome this?

Hi Prasad,
Few things to check:
1. Pooled table data for which the datasource is created.
2. Reactivate the extract structure - check the dataelement also for date.
3. Is there any custom code present in Infoset? - if yes then it may be possible that dates are being calculated in that custom code and wrong format is being used there.

LSMW input method error-No Customizing entry defined for period indicator Y in logon language

Hi,
I am creating one material through direct input method and its showing error '
No Customizing entry defined for period indicator Y in logon language'.
I am passing PERKZ ( periodic indicator ) as blank from file.
But when i am creating in foreground its automatically taking value 'M' and creating the material.
And also when i hardcode the value 'M' in LSMW then also its showing same error.
Can anyone please help urgently?

Check in O02K what is maintained. As per your error message, External Period Indicator "Y" is missing for that logon language.

Language dropdown in Masthead iView

Hello All,
Fllowing is the weblog which has described about how to show language dropdown for anonymous users.
SP12/SP20: Portal Localization for Anonymous Users
My requirement is:
Even though user is authenticated user, we want to show the language dropdown to change the user language.
I know we can change this user language from personalization link if user is authenticated. But, we want dropdown to be shown on the masthead iView.
I have changed masthead iView JSP application and i was able to display the dropdown even though user is authenticated.
On dorpdown element, we have onSelect event and on this event, I am calling one Javascript function called, "onSelect_Language". Somehow this function is not being called.
For testing, I have written code to show alert only.
So, it should show the alert and i can confirm whether function is being called.
But, i am not getting any alert.
Can you please help me?

The same type of drop down we can set it in the logon page easily.
Make it available in logon page and try to change it to masthead using the same code.
I never tried.
We created the below fuction for different reason check it once may be usefull
     Create a javascript/ directory in the par structure
     Add the file customBranches.js in this directory
Edit the file PORTAL-INF/jsp/HeaderiView.jsp in order to call the Branch Dropdown.
EPCM.subscribeEvent("urn:com.sapportals:navigation", "Navigate", pop);
Check this sample refresh function with alert.

PDF is converting the Thai Language characters into Junk Characters

Hi,
While converting the SAP Script form to PDF, it is converting the Thai Language characters into Junk Characters. But it is showing correctly if we issue it to a printer. Also it is showing correctly in print preview.
Urgent Help is needed.

i need to replace those junk value with any other character say '(Blob)'.

Workflow mail shows junk character in outlook where arabic

We have EBS R12 12.0.4. I am facing the problem with workflow mails.
whenever the workflow mails comes in outlook it show junk characters instead of arabic letters.

1. Navigate to OAM->Workflow Manager->Notification Mailer->View details in this page
2. Look for parameter called RESET_NLS change this value from 'YES' to 'NO'.
3. Bounce Notification Mailer.

R12 - Report showing Junk Characters

Hi
We developed report in English and when we copy and run in R12 it is giving the output in different language like Russian.
I checked the parameters Etcc.. all shows with English.
But when we copy the contents from report (pdf) to notepad it converts to English. Also if I change the font to courier size 10 it works but if we change the font size to 12 again it shows junk.
Can any one faced this type of issue, any suggestions?

E-Mails preview shows junk character

I could successfully install 10.3.1.-1565 on my Z3 handset and it is working fine except that it shows junk character in mail if it has PDF, DOC or any attachment.
Can anybody advise take this issue at right level of BB official support.

3.1 EA3 - Column value filter dropdown returns duplicate values

Hello,
SQL Developer 3.1 EA3 introduces a regression: the column value filter in the table data editor dropdown (filter column) now shows duplicate values. Previous versions (at least 3.0) returned unique values to select from.
Since this is EA3 and not yet production, should I file a bug for this?

Yes it's a regression. Fixed it recently. In the next released build it should work properly.

Users by default logon language

I am trying to find out how many users logon to our global EEC5 system from different regions/countries, due to the lack of information entered in SU01 during the creation of users, I think the only reliable information to search on is 'Logon Language' in SU01 defaults, as we do setup the users to logon via their region logon language in the defaults, this should give me a rough guide at least !
Looking at SU01 and the reports in SUIM, I cannot find a report where I can search using logon language as the key? I've had a look in the technical information for field logon language in SU01 and the field name is LANGU, but when I use this field name in SUIM --> Users by complex selection criteria (RSUSR002) -- > field name LANGU and value as language key = DE for example no matching results displayed, even though we have over 00 users with a logon language default set as DE.
Does anyone know a way I can list the users by logon language set as their default?

This details can be found from the Report RSUSR200 (users by Logon date and password chage). Please deselect all options and keep the following selected:
Users Valid Today
Users Not Locked ; Users Locked
Users with no incorrect Logon attempts
Dialog Users
Users with Productive password
Users with initial Password
users with deactivated password
Execute and check / download the list.

Selection-screen texts and logon language

Hi all,
I'm having reports with english selection texts (Dictionnary ref. is ticked).
So I expect SAP to translate it in all languages automatically, or at least to use english as default value
But when I logon in german, french, russian .... these texts does not appear with their english description, but with the technical one (S_MATNR, ...), which force me to translate them via SE63 ...
Is it normal ? do we need to translate ALL texts of all reports in dozens of languages via SE63 (whereas the english texts is ok for me for all logon languages) ?

For standard ddic objects also the SAP will propose the corresponding field text.
What u do is in the selection text follow the menu path.
GOTO--->Transaltion.
GIve the Original language = EN
Target language = FR.
Now u can see the
Material
XXXXX - Corresponding text in French.,
Save and active.
Logon in French. You will see the text now.
If useful reward.

SQLPLUS screen showing junk characters

on a arabic windows machine i installed oracle 10g, its showing all the feedbacks, error messages in arabic.
i went to windows control panel and change the regional settings from local arabic language to english us.
even at the command prompt when i use the EXPort utility yo backup my db tables. its showing junk pormpts.
how do i get rid of this. please guide.

This is a classical case of not reading any documentation and going ahead.
When things go wrong, again don't read the documentation, but jump to OTN specifying as little as possible
Arabic Windows doesn't tell anything and Oracle 10g is a marketing label.
Then a series of screenshots on a server no one can reach.
But I know what happened:
When you installed Oracle and created a database, it took defaults from Windows, so you get a database in an Arabic characterset. Then all of a sudden you decided to change the characterset of the O/S by changing the locale settings.
As in Oracle the characterset of the database needs to match the characterset of the O/S, this is not going to work ever. Even if you change NLS_LANG in the registry it still needs to convert between English/US and Arabic. If the characterset of the database is not UTF8, this is doomed to go wrong.
Either recreate the database in UTF8, or revert the O/S change.
And BTW: Export is NOT a backup.

Dynamic Logon language for Travel Expenses WD ABAP iViews

Hi,
Scenario:
We have customized standard Travel & Expenses WD ABAP components (FITV_FPM or so).
For them, my task is to create custom Portal navigation as follows: -
Top level nav = ESS
2nd level nav = Travel & Expenses
Detailed Navigation = # My Trips & Expenses
Create expense report
I have created above navigation by copying std WDA iViews from 'Cont provided by SAP' folder.
Task: -
- Create two roles, one for French users (FR) & other for remaining users (GLOBAL).
- For FR role, above two iViews & iViews that open on POWL toolbar button clicks, should be in FR language.
- For GLOBAL role, above two iViews & iViews that open on POWL toolbar button clicks, should be in EN language.
- I have changed 'Logon Language' property for both iViews in both roles accordingly.
Issue: -
- Only 1st iView, i.e. My Trips & Expenses and Create expense report open in respecting language (as set in iView property of each role).
- But all other iViews that open on 'Change, Delete, Copy' POWL toolbar button clicks, shows user's Portal language.
Any idea why this is happening?
I guess these POWL actions navigate to some pre-defined Portal location and open those iViews. Is this correct?
Is there any kind of table for Travel Management package in SAP where these Portal links are maintained?
