Webui problems

I have been having problems with the webui. I am running ifs
1.1 on Win2000 SP2. When hitting the server via the webui, some
images do not show up. When hitting the server with the exact
same user from a browser on a different computer the images show
up fine. Also on some PCs, I can login as a particular user and
see no graphics, but login as another as the graphics appear.
If I login as a user that can view the graphics, logout and
login again as the user who couldn't previous to logging in with
the user who could, now the graphics are fine on both????? I
know these files exist since obviously they are in the
repository and appear for some browsers on some PCs (i have
cleaned the cache on all browsers). Below I have pasted the
Apache error.log that may be of some interest.

I have answered my own question. I changed the ACL of
all 'Users', all 'ACLs' and all 'Groups' to 'Private' so when a
regular user logs in they only see themselves as a user under
Users, no ACLs and no Groups. However this somehow screws up the
webui images. It must restrict access to them somehow. Also, a
java null pointer exception is thrown when I click on Groups.
Anyway, this hiding of Users, ACLs and Groups is not entirely
necessary for my application, I just wanted to post a reply for
anyone else who runs into the same problem.

• Problem in CRM WEBUI

Hi,
I am on CRM WEBUI. When I click on any of the buttons on WEBUI, after a while, it is showing a blank page, instead of required page. However if I click on back button, then it is showing the required page.
This is happening very sporadically. I am not able to undertstand the reason.
Could you please let me know, any settings I need to do to avoid this problem. (CRM Settings or Internet settings).
Thanks in advance for all the responses.
Thanks,
Sandeep

Hello Sandeep,
Please have a look at note 1244321 which contains the general information on analysing WEBUI problems.
Please also try to get a HTTP trace of the problem which would be helpful on analysing.
There was the similar case which was caused by network.
Best regards,
Maggie

• CRM WebUI Caching problem

hi all,
We are creating/Updating CRM products as a background job. When we update the products, we dont see the changes immediately in the WebUI. These changes are immediately visible in SAPGUI.
If we close and open the browser we will be able to see the changes we have made from background.
Is it a caching issue? How to resolve this problem?
Please help.
Raghav

Hi Raghav,
Thanks for the details!
I think the issue is because the page is not refreshed hence fresh data transfer does not happen with the backend. So the new results are not included in the search result. Check if you can manually refresh the search result to every time make a backend call and get the results.
You can also opt for refreshing of the page as well.
Hope this helps!
Regards,

• WebUI and IE8 problem

Hi, as we are upgrading to IE8 we got a problem with WebUI. The 'header area' of the WebUI uses http and the 'work area' uses https. This results in a warning message 'Do you want to view only the web page content that was delivered securely?' when I run WebUI. If I answer 'No' the page is displayed correctly - If I answer 'Yes' the 'header area' is not displayed (an IE error page gets displayed 'This page could not....' (only where the header should be, the rest of the page is displayed correctly)).
Does anyone have any idea of where I can change the header area to use https as the rest of the WebUI?
Any response is greatly appriciated!
Best Regards Eva

Hi Karlos
My reason for asking about first clicking is because in IE normally the Flash object has focus straight away. But in Firefox, you first have to click the Flash object on the page to shift focus there before a keyboard shortcut will work. I wondered if IE8 was changing this playing field.
Configuring a Click Box is simple. You insert the Click Box, then choose the action. For the shortcut, you click the Select keys... button and enable things via the "Attach a shortcut" check box. Then you choose the keys and/or modifiers you want.
Cheers... Rick

• IFS -WebUI Search-Problem...

When I try to search for the content of an object via the WebUI, I get following error message:
IFS 22012: Search failed.Invalid query may have been specified.
I have the ctxserver started.
a few time ago it worked, but now it doesnt.
What4s the problem?

Thanks Alexandre,
but still it will help a lot if you can specify where in TFM does the details for refreshing the context index can be found. There is not such a refresh command in the WebUI of iFS nor I see it in the iFS manager. I am sure it is there somewhere but I do not have experience with iFS to locate it.

• Problems with BI Reports in WebUI

Hello,
I have linked some planning web templates in the CRM WebUI, but every time a user changes the report, the session isn't closed so the lock of the data is still active. Even if the user press log out, the portal sessions are still active. Is it possible to close the session with the function module RSWR_SESSION_TERMINATE? But I haven't found a function module to get the session id of the user.
Does anybody know a solution for this? ABAP and Java Stacks SP are ~20.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
Can you go to RSA1 and check in BI Content - Bex Web Template - Select Objects and Transfer Selection - and see if the 0Analysis_Pattern is active or not and is transported to QA.
And the second thing is to check the SPRO Config for the Template which is maintained:
To Do this navigate in BW System:
SPRO - SAP NetWeaver - Business Intelligence - Settings for Reporting and Analysis - BEx Web - Set Standard Web Template - and see if Web Template is maintained as it is in Dev.....
Since when you run the Query from Query Designer it will check in SPRO for this setting and show the report with that template.
Hope this helps.
Cheers-

• Performance problem ECC / CRM WebUi

I have a performance problem when using CRM functionality FCC (a http i.e. bsp) aplication which makes a query in ECC system.(two systems are in different networks)
In real life user is waiting for response in CRM BSP like 60 seconds(really too much)
At CRM side:
When I look at CRM for overall dialog avg. response time is 806 ms with avg roll wait time is 436ms.
When I look at CRM for overall HTTP avg. response time is 244 ms with avg roll wait time is 194ms.
At ECC side:avg RFC(only there I can identify specified user with high times) response time for user is 7.577ms with a quite high DB avg response time 6310ms.
Generaly this is a big ECC system with avg dialog response time 612ms(and no other user complains)
How to improove this situation. Is the problem in ECC system ,CRM system or network? Would moving CRM system in ECC network improove performance dramatically or something else.
Should you need any other info do not hesitate

Thank you Juan
I wander do we neeed some more data to find main cause for performance problems.
I can organise moving CRM to ECC network(this engages many people of three company and downtime).
However if this does not bring significant improovment I will be "killled".
What to check to see main cause for performance problems

• Curious problem in the WebUI in regards to buffering...

The client of the CRM 7 system we recently installed has a unique situation whereby Account/Contacts have a one-to-one relationship. That is a contact will only ever be the contact for one Account.
The client maintains (creates) Contact details from within the Accounts screen via the Quick contact create option. When the edit this Contact details via the Account screen they see the Account/Contact details in the left pane of the screen and Contact details in the right. The information on the right pane is therefore never actually maintained.
The client wants whatever data is entered in the telephone and email fields to be copied from left pane to rigtht pane, but, this can not be achieved via code within the component view as when they Create a new contact via the Quick Create feature they may never go into the contact edit/maintenance screen and therefore any code placed there would not be executed.
As a result I have a background program that periodically scans table BUT050 and based on the last update date/time determines which contacts have been created or amended. It then does the equivalent of copying data from the left pane to the right pane by copy data from Acccount/Contact to the Contact.
This works fine and faultlessly, with the job running every minute and normally taking less than a second to complete. The problem is that when the user stays in the Account and the contacts data is updated, this is not shown when they next enter the contact. The only way around this situation is to view another Account and then go back to the Account and display the Contact details, where upon the new data is displayed.
Is there way of forcing the component view to refresh the buffer and read the latest data?.
Jason

Hi Jason,
this is true.
To avoid this problem,you can try to to the re_read entity bypassing buffers,in the do prepare output under some condition ,whn you know that the contacts coudl be refreshed..This ensures that the data is directly read from the database bufferes and object buffers are by passed.
the other way is that,when the contects are uploaded extrenally,you also trigger an update on the object buffers as well.

• Problem with new type of Document and WebUI

Hello everyone,
My problem is quite strange. Here it is :
I have created a new subclass of Document using the API, named IFSDocument. So, i created a class IFSDocumentDefinition and a class IFSDocument. Here is the code :
IFSDocumentDefinition :
package fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument;
public class IFSDocumentDefinition extends DocumentDefinition {
protected LibrarySession ifsSession;
public IFSDocumentDefinition() throws IfsException {
setClassname("IFSDOCUMENT");
public IFSDocumentDefinition(LibrarySession ifsSession) throws IfsException {
this();
this.ifsSession = ifsSession;
IFSDocument :
package fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument;
public class IFSDocument extends TieDocument{
public IFSDocument(LibrarySession session, Long id, Long classId, S_LibraryObjectData data) throws IfsException {
super(session, id, classId, data);
In this class, i've created a new ClassObject to handle my new type. Here is the method :
public void createIFSDocument(LibrarySession ifsSession) throws IfsException {
DocumentDefinition myDocDef = new DocumentDefinition(ifsSession);
Document doc = (Document)ifsSession.createPublicObject(myDocDef);
ClassObject co = doc.getClassObject();
ClassObjectDefinition cod = new ClassObjectDefinition(ifsSession);
cod.setSuperclass(co);
cod.setSuperclassName(co.getName());
cod.setName("IFSDocument");
ifsSession.setInstallationMode(true);
c = (ClassObject)ifsSession.createSchemaObject(cod);
c.setBeanClasspath("fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument.IFSDocument");
c.setSelectorClasspath("fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument.S_IFSDocumentSelector");
c.setServerClasspath("fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument.S_IFSDocument");
ifsSession.setInstallationMode(false);
I also created two classes named S_IFSDocument and S_IFSDocumentSelector that do nothing special but calling super(). Here is the code :
S_IFSDocument :
package fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument;
public class S_IFSDocument extends S_TieDocument {
public S_IFSDocument(S_LibrarySession session, java.lang.Long classId) throws IfsException {
super(session, classId);
public S_IFSDocument (S_LibrarySession session, S_LibraryObjectData data) throws IfsException {
super (session, data);
S_IFSDocumentSelector :
package fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument;
public class S_IFSDocumentSelector extends S_DocumentSelector {
protected S_IFSDocumentSelector(S_LibrarySession session) {
super(session);
protected S_IFSDocumentSelector(S_LibrarySession session, Long classId) throws IfsException {
super(session, classId);
Everything seems to work since i'm able to create new objects of type IFSDocument. I can add custom attributes, put them into folders etc. BUT when i use the web interface, i have the following error message :
oracle.ifs.common.IfsException : IFS-21002: Unable to construct S_LibraryObject for class fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocuments.S_IFSDocument (invalid class path specification)
I don't understand why my classpath is invalid since i simply call super(). So, where is the problem ? Do i have to put the class(es) on the Server ?
By the way, what's the purpose of the Selector class ? Is it related to search ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Guillaume
PS : i'm using iFS 1.1.9 on Oracle 8.1.7 and NT4 sp6

Hi Guillaume,
don't know exactly but what i have in mind
is that everything in iFS API that starts
with a S_ is executed at server side, so the
classes should exist there.
You can easily check this if you put your
classes in directory %IFS_HOME%\custom_classes
You are right, the Selector class is for SIMPLE searches, for example:
LibrarySession ifsSession;
String searchCriteria = PublicObject.NAME_ATTRIBUTE + " = '<someName>'";
Selector mySelector = new Selector(ifsSession, Document.CLASS_NAME, searchCriteria);
LibraryObject objs[] = mySelector.getItems();

• Problem in WebUI Search using categories

When doing an Advanced Find in the WebUI using a content type search specifing a Category and searching on the attributes, the results are the category instances and not the publicobjects that they associate with. The WinUI does this correctly. Ideas on how to correct?

I am sorry, this is not an answer to your question but a little help from you is well appeciated.
I have just started exploring oracle 9i Lite to develop apps. on Palm and WinCE using OKAPI but the documentation does not seem enough. Is there some book or sample programs available that demonstrate OKAPI to develop form based apps ? CodeWarrior and Satellite Forms are not good when someone wants to try writing demp app.

• Dynamic mandatory field error message is not getting displayed in webui

Hi,
In Appointment if the importance is HIGH i made Location as mandatory.For this i enhanced BT126H_APPT/ApptDetails. In the get_p_location() method of BTACTIVITYYH i have written the code.
Now the problem is Error message for this dynamic mandatory field is not getting displayed in webui.
I debugged in DO_FINISH_INPUT error message is getting generated but it is not getting displayed in ui.
Can anybody tell where the problem is?
Thanks,
Hari.

Hi Hari,
Really sorry do not know how to convert this nug file to text
How ever quick solution for your problem would be just keep your validation in 'DO_VALIDATE_INPUT' method of the view controller.
Means even if the User clicks on SAVE , Since it fails here , it would not allow you to go further.
Thanks,

• Creation of a Marketing Profile Set based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset thru the WebUI Segment Builder

Objective: Creation of a Marketing Profile Set based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset thru the WebUI Segment Builder.
Problems: Standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset DOES NEVER RETURN ANY RESULTS on the segmentation builder of the WebUI client (no matter the filter you specify).
Other cases: However if we create a new Data source with data "Extraction from Query" (transaction RS02) based on this standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset and we test the functionality using transaction RSA3, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS (using the same filters as in the segmentation builder)! Of course the segmentation builder works with other attribute lists.
NEW: IF WE DON’T ESPECIFY ANY SEGMENTATION BASE IN THE PROFILE GROUP, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS!!! (GO TO THE END OF THE DOCUMENT FOR DETAILS)
Steps followed:
Review Standard Infoset CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE (Transaction SQ02).Review Data Reading Program code: do we have to change the standard code? We have only remove the "BREAK-POINT" statement.
Creation of a Data source based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset (Transaction CRMD_MKTDS).
Creation of an Attribute List based on that standard Data source and selection the Birth date as a filter in the Attribute list (Transaction CRMD_MKTDS).
On the segment builder of the WebUI set any filter (Example: “TODAY”).
Steps in detail:
Review Standard Infoset CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE

Count target group. Here I would like to stand out that once you click on the “Count” option, immediately it shows 0 results. In other words, it doesn’t process any information. With other attribute lists it takes some time to process, no matter the filter or the attribute list you use. However if we create a new Data source with data "Extraction from Query" (transaction RS02) based on this standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset and we test the functionality using transaction RSA3, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS (with “today” filter and other)! So it seems that the problem has to do with the segment builder, not the Infoset.
Result: it never return any results no matter the filter you specify.
Other cases:
Creation of a new Data source with data "Extraction from Query" where you enter the name of your new query
Creation of a Data source based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset

We fill the form and select “Extraction from Query”:

We specify the Data source:

NEW: It seems that it has to do with the Segmentation Basis selected in the creation of a Profile Set, because if we do not select any, it does return results. But we need to create this Profile Set based on a particular Segmentation Basis called BS Usuarios Registrados. Why is not posible to select Category 02 Segmentation Basis in the creation of the Attribute List???

It seems that the standard Infoset doesn’t work by itself with Segmentation Basis. Two SAP notes have been applied and a new Field Group has been added to the Infoset (in order to distint the Segmentation Base).
CRMT_MKTTG_IS_BIRTHDATE-MGRGUID
1966298: MGR_GUID is not populated correctly to infoset read program
2007687:Segmentation InfoSet queries saved with incorrect Master Group
For that reason we had to create a new Infoset based on the standard CRMT_MKTTG_IS_BIRTHDATE, but adding this new Field MGRGUID to the Group Fields.

• Facelets and jsf-extensions problem.

I'm fairly certain I've run into a problem between facelets and jsf-extensions. I'm working with JSF 1.2 RI, Woodstock, Facelets 1.1.13, on Tomcat 6.
When trying to get Woodstock autoValidation to work I get a javascript error the "I has no properties". The error occurs in the com_sun_faces_ajax.js file in the jsf-extensions-dynamic-faces-0.1.jar (I've used both the RC4 and a build today ,10/18/07 from source with the same results). Here is the code snippet where it happens (with my comment).
var I = G.getElementsByTagName("components")[0];
var C = I.getElementsByTagName("render");
for(var F = 0; F < C.length; F++) {
In the second line there it looks like the variable I is null, but based on the post response below I don't know why.
The response from the post looks like this:
<partial-response><components><render id="PayableForm:vendorGci"><markup><![CDATA[{"valid":true,"id":"PayableForm:vendorGci"}]]></markup></render></components>
However the server side code (validation method) never gets executed. I'm willing to do some digging and debug work, but I'd need to be pointed in the right direction.
The following is more potentially useful code snippets.
Here is the textField code:
<w:form id="PayableForm">
<w:textField style="display:none;" />
<w:message for="vendorGci" />
<w:label id="vendorGciLabel" for="vendorGci" text="Vendor: " />
<w:textField id="vendorGci" autoValidate="true"
text="${vendorBean.searchGci}" maxlength="8" required="true"
validatorExpression="#{ vendorBean.validateVendor}" />
Here is the javascript in the page (the init function is called from the body: onLoad="setTimeout('init();', 0);" , this does happen):
<w:script type="text/javascript">
function VendorListener(){
function VendorNotify(props){
alert("VendorNotify called!"); <--------------- I never see this alert message
if ( props.id != "PayableForm:vendorGci") { return; }
var field = document.getElementById("PayableForm:vendorGciLabel");
field.setProps({
valid: props.valid
VendorListener.prototype.notify = VendorNotify;
function initAccountRows(){
var table = document.getElementById("PayableForm:vendorAccountTable");
table.initAllRows();
function init(){
initAccountRows();
var listener = new VendorListener();
dojo.subscribe(
webui.suntheme.widget.textField.event.validation.endTopic ,
listener, listener.notify);
Here is the validator method. It currently doesn't do anything, just trying to get something to work. I never see the output, and I never hit the breakpoint in the method.
public void validateVendor(FacesContext context, UIComponent comp, Object value){
System.out.println("**********************************");
System.out.println("validateVendor called");
System.out.println(value);
System.out.println("**********************************");
}

Actually I don't need a global variable. I need to refer in my included template the actual backing bean used in the current page. As all my backing bean extends a abstract class I could bind my component to a property of the current backing bean, no matters which one. Just like a polymorphic call but without the parameter. Let's imagine I could get this object of the facesContext object I would be able to do:
<rich:datascroller renderIfSinglePage="false" align="right" for="listagem" maxPages="12" fastStep="10"
pageIndexVar="pageIndex" pagesVar="pages" stepControls="show" fastControls="hide" boundaryControls="show"
inactiveStyleClass="paginacaoInativa" selectedStyleClass="paginacaoSelecionada"
styleClass="paginacao" tableStyleClass="paginacaoTabela"
binding="#{facesContext.currentBackingbean.formDataScroller}" id="paginacao">
Instead of pass the backing bean to the ui:param of this template... Dou you get the point?

OK, I have figured it out. When I initally installed Creator I did not pay attention to what the dialogs said. I just pushed the "Finish" button when it came up. After re-installing as root and my user I realized thet the last dialog said "Application Server could not be installed correctly. The following RPM packages need to be installed: compat-libstdc++, compat-libstdc++-devel"
I had compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47installed.
I installed compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-132.
Afterwards I installed Creator under "root" without an error, and I was able to create a new project.
I hope this help some others. I saw several posts concerning Fedora.
