And have you configured webutil ?

FRM-92101 in wu_test (the webutil demo form)
Error:
FRM-92101 in wu_test (the webutil demo form)
Problem:
I am attempting to run the wu_test form, downloaded with demos for webutil 1.02.
Running wu_test or another form containing webutil functions results in
FRM-92101 in the form's window and the following error in the OC4J console.
"Forms session <1> aborted: unable to communicate with runtime process."
Environment:
Java Client: Tried with both Sun Java Plug-In 1.4.2.04/5 and Jinitiator 1.3.1.17
Application Server: Oracle 9.0.4 iDS (Orion Development OC4J)
Database: Enterprise Edition 10.1.0.2.0
Forms Listener Servlet
Attempted Solutions:
I have scoured OTN & MetaLink & tried everything I could find with no luck. I
apologize for the length of this post, but I want to provide as much information
as possible re: what I've tried and my environment.
For instance, the remedy in Note 252600.1, which can cause these symptoms, did
not help.
This note states:
In webutil.cfg modify
install.syslib.location to an absolute URL, replacing the line:
install.syslib.location=/webutil
To an absolute URL like:
install.syslib.location=http://[host]:[port]/forms90/webutil
(replacing [host] and [port] with your own values) or
install.syslib.location=//../webutil
Other Information:
Other forms (ones that don't contain webutil functions/beans) run fine with the same
env and config used for webutil.
The wu_test form is already set up so first navigation item is not on the
webutil canvas, but on the "demo" canvas.

Any suggestions on how I can get this to work will be appreciated. Thanks. -Ianmost of the time this means that your webutil.pll isn't good attached but it is very dependant on the versions you working on.
Post your versions of forms ias and webutil.
In older version it is sometimes necessary to first subclass the webutil group and then attach the webutil.pll. Other way around didn't work (was in beta version 1.02 I believe) -
Webutil demo not working ?
Hello experts,
recently i install and configure according to steps:
1. Run create_webutil_db.sql
a. CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY webutil
b. Grant connect, resource to webutil
c. Connect webutil/webutil
d. @[ORACLE_HOME]/forms/create_webutil_db.sql
e. Create public synonym webutil_db for webutil.webutil_db;
f. Connect sys as sysdba
g. Grant execute on webutil_db to public;
2. Copy and download Jacob from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/files/jacob-project/1.14.3/jacob-1.14.3.zip/download
a. Unzip the jacob download and place jacob.jar in the
ORACLE_HOME/forms/java directory
b. backup sign_webuitl.bat script in [ORACLE_INSTANCE]/bin/sign_webutil.sh
c. search for <Your KEYSTORE password> and replace it with welcome1 (or
something like this)
d. search for <Your private key password> and replace it with welcome1 (or
something like this)
e. Save the script and use it to sign jacob.jar as below
f. [ORACLE_INSTANCE]/bin/sign_webutil.sh
[ORACLE_HOME]/forms/java/jacob.jar
3. Place jacob.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/ directory
4. Jacob.dll in r2 – file names must be verified against webutil.cfg file
a. Place jacob-1.14.3-x86.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/win32
directory.
b. Place jacob-1.14.3-x64.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/win64
directory
5. Using weblogic EM console, Add ORACLE_HOME/forms/java/frmall.jar to the
CLASSPATH in the default.env
6. Update formsweb.cfg webutil section with the following if not already
done:
a. Add frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar to the WebutilArchive parameter in the
[webutil] configuration section. For some versions of 11g, this is already
added.
b. Specify webutil_demo as the form to be run in the [webutil]
configuration section
7. Download webutil demo from link below, extract and put the contents in
a folder
http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/196249.zip
8. Copy ffisamp.dll to the <ORACLE_HOME>\forms\webutil directory.
9. Open your webutil.cfg file and add the following line
install.syslib.0.user.1=ffisamp.dll|40960|1.0|true
10. If not already done do the following in webutil.cfg
a. transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot=c:\temp
b. transfer.appsrv.accessControl=TRUE
c. transfer.database.enabled=TRUE
d. transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
11. Add the folder in FORMS_PATH in enterprise manager
12. Replace db and run the following command:
a. frmcmp.sh module=webutil_demo.fmb module_type=form
userid=webutil/webutil@<db> compile_all=yes
b. FORMS_PATH variable and make sure webutil.pll folder is available in the
path or run the above command from command shell in the folder where webutil.pll
is available
13. Restart opmnctl and wls_forms weblogic instance
14. Run the webutil
running the url:
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?form=webutil_demo&config=webutil
logon window appear, after login following mess comes:
frm-40735: when-custom-item-event trigger raised

Edited by: yash_08031983 on Mar 8, 2013 12:12 AMThere are a few things you did not mention or were unclear about.
1. Exactly which Forms version are you using? In order to do what you described, you should be using 11.1.2.x. Forms 11.1.1 or older will not work using the instructions you referred to.
2. I assume you just copied and pasted the instructions in your post because you included steps like this: "+ 3. Place jacob.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/ directory+ ". If you downloaded the correct Jacob, you won't have a jacob.dll file.
3. You said, " +b. FORMS_PATH variable and make sure webutil.pll folder is available + ". At runtime, FORMS_PATH will need access to webutil.plx and webutil_demo.fmx. The pll and fmb are for design time only. In the past, we permitted the use of ungenerated libraries (pll) at runtime, but this is no longer the case. You should always use the "X" file.
4. You did not mention any of the client information. OS, browser and version, JRE and version, etc. If the client OS is 64bit and you are running Forms 11.1.2, you have the option of using either the 32bit or 64bit Internet Explorer versions. However, you must have a matching JRE. In other words, if you are using 32bit IE, you must also use the 32bit JRE. For 64bit IE you must use the 64bit JRE.
5. If you are attempting to use Java 7 on the client, you must be running Forms 11.1.2.1.
6. Someone asked if you compiled webutil.plx. Did you do this before or after you generated the form (webutil_demo.fmx)? If you generated the form before the library, I would recommend regenerating the form. Again, be sure to include the compile_all=yes option. -
WebUtil Demo OLE test doesn't work
Hi
I have downloaded the WebUtil demo and all tabs/functionalities in the form WU_TEST_105 works except the OLE test. When I click on the button "Write to Word" the form just hangs/freezes adn nothing happens. I added the lines

to my formsweb.cfg and here are part of the java console output:

WEBUTIL DEMO FORM ifError:7/500
Hello
I'm trying to run the webutil demo form (WU_TEST_105.fmb) from Form Builder (version 9.0.4.0.19). The browser window opens but just displays the message ifError:7/500. I can't find any reference to what this means! Does anyone know?
Thanks
EvanHere is my two cents worth.
First, I build big corporate apps not Web stuff.
So this might look a little sketchy but here goes.
I'm on 10g using 10g tools.
What is happening is Forms Designer is not assembling a correct address string.
You should see something like the address below and it generates the error.
http://mylocalmachine:8889/forms/lservlet
ifError:7/500
Plug-in the address to something like the following and you should get your form.
http://mylocalmachine:8889/forms/frmservlet?form=mynewform.fmx&userid=&otherparams=useSDI=yes&lookAndFeel=oracle&colorScheme=blue
Parameters in the address string are <mylocalmachine> and <mynewform>.
Your "forms_path" registry entry might need some attention.
The configuration files that are created by default need some modifications.
Check these files:
%OracleHome\cauprefs.ora
%OracleHome\forms\server\default.env
%OracleHome\forms\server\formsweb.cfg
%OracleHome\j2ee\DevSuite\config\default-web-site.xml
See other discussion pages about configuration parameters.
Good luck from Bottom_End ... -
hi
i have installed DevSuit10g(rel2) i downloanded demo for webutil i have configured every thing as described in the example but after run when i click the button GET CLIENT INFO i get the following error message.

what can be the problemchk if u have followed following steps...
1) Login with user name under which u want to use webutil
2) Create package and package body webutil_db using file
C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
Compile both of above things
3) Compile the file webutil.pll using Oracle Forms Compiler so webutil.plx gets created
4) In C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\forms.cfg , add line
AliasMatch ^/forms/webutil/(..*) $ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/$1"
5) In C:\DevSuiteHome_1\j2ee\DevSuite\application-deployments\forms\formsweb\ orion-web.xml
Add line
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/webutil" real-path="C:\DevSuiteHome_1/forms/webutil" />
6) In C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\formsweb.cfg file add line
WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm.
baseHTML=webutilbase.htm.
7) In C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\default.env file
In FORMS_PATH variable add path of webutil.pll as
FORMS_PATH=C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms;D:\Projects\DBF
(by default webutil.pll is under forms, but if we use in our own folder then path of that should also be appended as shown above.
WEBUTIL_CONFIG=C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\webutil.cfg
CLASSPATH=C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar;C:\DevSuiteHome_1\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar

10) Sign frmwebutil.jar and Jacob.jar files from command prompt
Go to C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\webutil directory give command
Sign_webutil C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
After siging 1 file insign_webutil.bat file change SET JAR_KEY=webutil2 to SET JAR_KEY=webutil3. Then sigh the following file.
Sign_webutil C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\jacob.jar
11) In webutil.cfg file add lines
transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
transfer.appsrv.accessControl=FALSE
transfer.appsrv.read.1=c:\temp
transfer.appsrv.write.1=c:\temp
12) In FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH REGISTRY entry append following if not there
C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar;C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\frmall.jar;C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\webutil.pll;C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\webutil.pll; C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\webutil.olb; C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\webutil\jacob.dll;C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\jacob.jar;C:\DevSuiteHome_1\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
13) Copy ffisamp.dll file into C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\webutil\ directory (thie file is supplied with webutil demo)
14) In C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\formsweb.cfg file see if the following line is present if not then add/append the line archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
15) Add line install.syslib.0.user.1=ffisamp.dll|40960|1.0|true into wenutil.cfg file -

HELP! -
Has anyone had success running the WEBUTIL demo from the OTN site using OC4J and running Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2), this version has the WEBUTIL wrapped in it.
I can see the runtime form but immediately get a trigger error, it has something to do with the WEBUTIL library I am sure. No part of the demo works, I get a different error every time I press a button or change tabs.
Any ideas would be great.Dougo,
do you see any error messages (e.g. in the JInitiator console ? )

Webutil Demo form is not working !!!!
Hi,
I Download WebUtil Demo form, compiled it and tried to run the demo form using Forms 11g but at run time the following error alert appears:
oracle.forms.webutil.clientinfo.GetClientInfo bean not found.
WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO.GET_SYSTEM_PROPERTY will not work
My environment is Oracle Forms 11g on which Webutil is already installed as it is mentioned in Forms 11g FAQ. So I did not change or add anything for webutil.
Any Help !!!!
Regards,
Yousuf.hi
i am not sure for 11g but u can try this.........
How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
Solution
Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
[OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
[JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
cd [JacobStage]
copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
Open a DOS command prompt.
Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
Sign the files, and check the output for success:
[OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
[OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
you may skip this step. Otherwise,
Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
errors.
Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
CONNECT webutil/[password]@[connectstring]
@[OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
-- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
grant execute on webutil_db to public;
5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
to the CLASSPATH entry.
6) Start the OC4J instance
7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
Note 303682.1
If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
8) Create a new FMB.
Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
NULL;
to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
show_webutil_information (TRUE);
in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
the "Application Server URL" is empty.
Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
10) Run your form.sarah -
Just a reminder - a new webutil demo has been posted on OTN - it showcases a lot of the webutil features.
Regards
Grant Ronald

I followed the steps layed out for configuring webutil in the users guide, I suspect the problem is related to signing the jacob.jar file.
I signed jacob.jar using $ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/sign_webutil.bat, I made sure ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin was in PATH.
I received these warning/errors at this point
Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...

There were warnings or errors while generating a self signing certificate. Please review them.

I am running forms 10.1.2. How do I resolve this problem.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Jim
.Well, I think the problem is a permission issue or there is a problem finding the correct files. Let me explain:
1. The first error is expected. Read it carefully and consider what you did to this point.
Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias <webutil2> already exists
This is expected because the alias was already created when signing frmwebutil.jar. Since the alias only needs to be created one time, this is expected and can be ignored.
2. The second error is your real issue:
jarsigner: attempt to rename d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar to d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar.orig failed
My suggestion:
1. Delete all jacob files including any which may have been renamed.
2. Re-download the correct Jacob version as noted in the WebUtil and Forms documentation. Do NOT attempt to use a newer version as it will cause a failure.
3. Copy the jacob.jar file in the same directory which contains the cortousy signing script (batch) Oracle provides.
4. Ensure that you have (Windows) Administrative permissions on the machine.
5. Open a DOS shell and change directories (cd) to the directory which contains the signer script.
6. Set the PATH to include the JDK\bin. For example:
SET PATH=d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\jdk\bin;%PATH%
7. Execute the jarsigner script.
sign_webutil jacob.jar
As already mentioned you can ignore messages which suggest that the alias already exists. However, pay attention to any others.
8. Assuming it works correctly, copy jacob.jar to ..\forms\java
9. Clear the JAR cache from whichever JRE (Jinitiator) you are using.
10. Retest -

# formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (frmservlet)
# This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
# following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
# values here will be used.
# The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
# which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
# Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
# SYSTEM PARAMETERS
# These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
# Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
# string. But they can be overridden in a named configuration (see below).
# Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
# they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
# is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
# USER PARAMETERS
# These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
# may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
# (e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?form=myform&width=700")
# or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)
