Webutil_file_transfer causes blank forms window on second monitor

Forms 11.1.2.0.0 64 bit
Java 1.6.0_31
When using webutil_file_transfer.client_to_db_with_progress or db_to_client_with_progress to load/view a document an intermittent fault occurs. If the Forms window is running on a second monitor then the forms window goes blank while the document up/downloads, and does not return unless dragged to the first window. The problem does not occur every time, and never when only one monitor is used. Maximizing the forms window also seems to cure the problem, but this is not a feasible option.
Any help greatly appreciated.

PSE 12.0 Organizer window stuck when on second monitor.

On a mutiple monitor machine aranged to side by side, and the second monitor is larger than the primary monitor, I cant drag the browser window to second monitor up above where the window was on the primary monitor. I can rezize the window to fit and maximize it as a work around, but must be a bug on my 2.6 Ghz i7 Mac Book Pro with second monitor and OS 10.8.5. I dont have this problem with Bridge CC.

A couple of thoughts :
- I waited 12 to 18 hours to finish generating the thumbnails.
- All the auto-analyzer and automatic people recognition are disabled
- I’ve discovered in “pse-conversion-log_Photos.txt” 4 messages : “logic_error, unable to reorder version set” with versions stacks. So, I’ve suppressed the 4 photos concerned (poison files ?) in the versions stacks of PSE 4.0 and I will convert my catalog another time.
- With every crash, a file log is generated, that I send to Adobe, as asked. I attach to this message file "Adobe8 crash1.doc" which contains a copy of the message display Adobe and content of the file generated after 6 hours 30 of thumbnails generation.

Form.Location being ignored on second monitor

Hi all!
I have a form, and I'm trying to set the Location to a saved (previous) location. It seems to work fine for the primary monitor, but it is completely ignored for the secondary monitor, and the window is instead being places in the center of the screen...
Simple code:
Console.WriteLine(value);
form.Location = value;
Console.WriteLine(form.Location);
The output is as follows:
{X:1933 Y:13}
{X=2258,Y=341}
This is with VS 2010. Any ideas? :D

I could not reproduce your issue according your description. Could you share us a simple demo or key code that you get and set the Location?
As far as I know, systems that have multiple monitors attached may have trouble recognizing the boundaries of the display area. It will often cause a form’s location to change unpredictably, despite the Location property setting. Your situation seems to
be a work around which has been provided in the link below:

How can I set the default window location in calendar to my second monitor?

After installing Mavericks, Calendar always opens its windowed centered in my main monitor. I move it to where I want it (upper left, second monitor) but when I quit the program, the location reverts to the original location. Is there a .plist I need to edit?

The "quit calendar" fix does not endure after the next logout or restart.
In System Preferences, in the Mission Control Pane, unchecking "Displays have separate spaces" causes the windowing behavior to revert to pre-Mavericks behavior. Applications open in the previously used window. Applications with windows on multiple monitors re-open with correctly located windows. However, all the behavior reverts, so you can't run multiple full screen applications on different monitors, nor is there a tool bar at the top of secondary monitors.

Full screen playback on second monitor results in having to force quit Premier if a window opens on the second monitor.

Run into this problem a few times now. If I have full screen playback going to my second monitor, and then I try to do something like link media and the link media window opens on that second monitor I can't figure out a way to get to it. I end up having to force quit. Because the link media window causes all other application buttons to disable while it is open I have not been able to find a solution other than force quitting, reopen and disable full screen playback, open link media window and move it to the other monitor and then again enable full screen playback.
Has anyone run into this? Am I missing an easy solution?

You need to set up your Graphics Card Application first eg A and B Monitors , side by side etc.
In my case..a NVidea Display Application does this from the Control Panel
Then the second monitor will appear in display setting (Premiere).
My second monitor is entirely dedicated to full screen playback display.

^FORM causing blank page

We are using ^FORM in our datastream to change the form type mid-print. This causes a blank form to print followed by the form correctly populated. How can I prevent this?

Talking about using ^FORM in the datastream seems to me an Output Server problem, not the designer software. You might get a better response on that forum (but, like me, I would think most people monitoring that forum also monitor this one).
Have you checked the Print Agent manual to see if there is something about your scenario that might provide an explanation?
I assume your datastream looks something like the following:
^form X.mdf
^field a
aaaaa
^field b
bbbb
^form Y.mdf
^field c
cccc
^field d
dddd
Is it form "X" or form "Y" that is printing blank?
As long as field "c" is on form "Y" then I would think it should work. If it is not, then that might be causing the blank form.
I'm not familiar with your problem because our datastreams are mostly like:
^global a
aaaaa
^global b
bbbb
^global c
cccc
^global d
dddd
^form X.mdf
^form Y.mdf
With this setup the fields can be used in any order on the forms and we definately don't experience what you are.
We do use the
b -afxon
parameter to "discard unknown fields". It is possible this might help you if you are not already using it.

On a Mac with two monitors, how do I get a new FF window to open on the second monitor? I can do this on a Windows XP box easily enough but on a Mac FF won't remember the position of a new window. Please help!

I proof websites for a living and workflow is everything. On my 26" main monitor I have FF running the job tracking web site. In this site, there are links to the sites I need to proof. I would like to be able to right click on a URL and select 'open in new window' and have that window open up on my second monitor.

Depending on your router security setup, you might need the MAC address of your iPad, to allow access to your network, if the so called MAC filtering is active.
You can also check the name of your home network if your click on the AirPort icon on your desktop of your MacBook.

If your TV takes DVI input, and you have the mini-DVI to DVI cable for your MacBook, there is no reason it shouldn't work.

Second monitor goes "blank" when first monitor goes full screen in Mtn Lion.

Hello Apple community. I am using two monitors and when I put a program like iTunes in fullscreen mode (with the arrow symbol in top right) the second monitor displays that grey patchwork and I can't move windows over there.
My question: Is there any setting to change this (so I could have one screen in fullscreen mode and the other screen on the desktop) or is this just the way it is?
Any info would much appreciated!

It's just the way it is.
BetterTouchTool (free app, in the app store) has a little feature that resizes your windows to full size when you drag them near the top edge and returns them to the previous size when you drag them down again. I find this useful when using two monitors (saves you having to resize them manually).

How do I set Firefox to open new windows in my second monitor?

When opening a new window (by right clicking a link and selecting Open in New Window), I would like the window to be opened in my second monitor. Firefox used to do this, but randomly stopped. Now when I open a new window it is opened in my primary monitor. It does not open maximized (just short of being completely maximized). I have tried the fix I used before- moving the un-maximized browser to the second window, closing and re-opening the window. I have also tried moving the un-maximized browser, maximizing, closing and re-opening. Does anyone know how I can restore Firefox to open my new window in the second monitor?

Click the orange Firefox button, and click "Options". This will bring up a new window with a "Tabs" tab at the top. Click that. There will be several checked boxes, including one called "Open new windows in a new tab instead" up at the top of the list. Uncheck that box and you should be good to go.
ETA: This should also work if you click "Tools" and "Options" within your version.

Move all windows of an app to a second monitor

Is there a way to move all the windows belonging to an app to the second monitor, all at once? I tried clicking on the app icon in mission control and dragging the windows to the second monitor but that does not work.

No, as yet there's no method for doing this (or the opposite - moving all windows from a second monitor to the main one). Maybe this'll be addressed in Mavericks?
Failing that, you'll just have to engage in the time-honoured tradition of leaving Feedback.

FCPX. Viewing timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I am an old FCP7 user, learning FCPX. In 7, I liked being able to see timecode and scrolling in the frame of the canvas window. I would move and enlarge the canvas to fill a second monitor. I could still see the timecode and be able to scroll without having to go back and forth with the timeline on the first monitor.
I don't like that in X, the timeline is the only place that shows timecode and scrolling. So that when my viewer is in a second monitor, I have to go back and forth with the first monitor to view timecode and scroll. I put my script (word doc) on my first monitor which covers the FCP timeline. And makes it very cumbersome to view the script, view the movie in a large format and scroll/ get my orientation in the movie I am editing.
In FCPX, is it possible to view timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I don't use dual monitors, so this may not help, but my 1st thought is device driver version

•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information

Macbook Pro running Windows with Boot Camp, wanting to use iMac as second monitor.

I am using a Macbook Pro that is running Windows with Boot Camp. I want to connect it to my iMac so that I can use the iMac as a second monitor.
If it is not possible, I also have a TV that I could use using an HDMI, however when I tried this my Macbook Pro running Windows 8.1 did not detect it in the Display Settings.
What are my options? I just want to use my iMac or TV as a second monitor!!
