WebUtil - File Transfer to File Server instead of App Server of DB

Is it possible to upload a file to server other than the db server or app server?
Thanks.

Hello,
I don't think so. Notice that Webutil allows transfering files only on the App Server machine. With the DB Server, you can only transfert file to/from the database, not the file system.

  • In 4.15 admin server web interface, can account information app be run on web server instead of admin server?

    Hello,
Running winnt 4.0, messaging 4.x, directory 4.x and admin 4.x. Already moved the netscape gateway to a web server instead of admin server, but also need to move the user mgt application. This is the first link listed when you go to the admin server url in the browser. I have set up <netscape root>/bin/user/admin/bin as cgi directory and set up /bin/user/admin as additional docs directory, but frames in the application just hang.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

Hi Peter, Can you define what you mean by the
"User mgt Application"? Do you mean moving the entire
Administration Server to a Web Server?
If that is the case, then I do not believe that this is possible. The Administration Server itself is a proprietary architecture. The DSGW was setup from 4.0 onwards to be able to run on an external Webserver, to improve performance, but I do not believe that the Admin Server itself can be moved over.
Do you have a lot of people logging in through the Console itself? As you have already moved the DSGW component over to a sepeate sever, I'm trying to understand the need to move the Entire Admin Server over.

  • HT203071 How does the clients (iOS devices) to configure/use the caching server to download apps from local caching server instead of App store?

Hi ... How does the clients (iOS devices) to configure/use the caching server to download apps from local caching server instead of App store?

    Hi,
If you want to restore a reomoved app,you need to use
Add-AppxPackage to add a signed app package (.appx) to a user account.
But we cannot extract them from the ISO.
The behavior is by design. And this is a software protection regime.
    Thanks for your understanding.

I don't think I explained very well! What I am trying to say is that when the web server receives a response from the App Server (i.e a redirection to /index.jsp) the browser then trys to refer to to this file on the Web Server - where it does'nt exist. I don't know if this is any clearer!

  • How Web server identify which app server domain it should connect to

    Hi All,
    I have installed -
application server and created an app server domain HR84DEV.
Web server and created a web server domain peoplesoft
As you all know, to start web server we need to make sure that app server has already been started so as the database server moreover hence, I have first started database instance HR84DEV then started app server domain HR84DEV followed by web server domain peoplesoft
App server knows very well which database instance it should connect to since we mention it on app server configuraiton.
But, How web server domain peoplesoft identifys the app server domain HR84DEV to which it is connected since we nowhere mention the name of app server domain while installing PIA but just JSL/HTTP port and host name.

Connection between webserver and appserver is defined in the configuration.properties file to be found in
    \webserv\peoplesoft\applications\peoplesoft\PORTAL.war\WEB-INF\psftdocs\[site]
    file contains the entry
    # To enable jolt failover and load balancing, provide a list of application server
    # domains in the format of; psserver=AppSrvr:JSLport,...
    # For example: psserver=SERVER1:9000,SERVER2:9010,SERVER3:9020
    ## sd="Application Server Connect String", ld="This string embodies the failover and load balancing string for PIA to connect to Application Server domains. Consult the PeopleBooks recommendations on load balancing and failover for more information. The format is psserver=AppSrvr:JSLport where AppSrvr is your fully qualified domain name. If the webserver cannot connect to your appserver, make sure you can ping the appserver and/or adjust your hosts file to reflect the appserver.

Dreamweaver does not ship with a web server, you have to
install one, or activate one on your system (IIS or Apache for
Widows and Apache for Mac are the common choices). When you define
a site within Dreamweaver you can specify a testing server, as well
as a remote server. If the testing server and/or remote server are
available to your system without an internet connection, then you
can certainly test pages through the web server such as through
    http://localhost/
If you are creating HTML pages, then there is no need for a
server at all for creating and testing your pages, but if you are
working with PHP or ColdFusion, then you will need a web server to
    work with.
If you have follow up questions, you should ask in the
Dreamweaver General forum (general Dreamweaver usage questions), or
the Application Development forum (questions about dynamically
generated pages), depending on what you're looking to do:

  • Email Enabled lists - where to run the SMTP server? On APP server or on Exchange Server? Or somewhere else?

    Hi there,
I need to setup EMail Enabled lists in SharePoint 2010 site. Where do I need to run the SMTP server? On APP server or on Exchange Server? Or somewhere else?
    Thank you so much.

The SMTP service cannot run on the Exchange server. You can run it on a SharePoint server, or a stand alone server and share out the drop directory over SMB.

  • OIA jobs.xml constrain execute of file import on only one of two app server

I am trying to get the jobs.xml and scheduling-context.xml files to fire an import job on one of the two app servers. There are two application servers utilizing the same shared database. QUESTION:_
Is the IAMServerName value suppose to have the literal hostname of the application server (ex. "oia.bluebird.com") configured in place of the default "FILE_SERVER" text?
    Your insite is greatly appreciated

    Hi Meg,
I have to say that I've only seen the jobs.xml be defined for data feeds only. It does not make calls out to app/DB servers OOTB.
The alternative solution are the following:
    1. Use your IDM provisioning connector to the application then pull the data from the IDM product into OIA
    2. Extract the data from the app server using the ETL functionality/engine within the OIA product to extract the data into a data feed (then OIA will pick that up)
    3. Construct some extracting functionality (like a java class) instead of ETL
    Hope this has helped

  • File picking and placing in same dir App server of SAP XI using NFS.

    Hi All,
As I am new to XI,
    I am using XI 3.0,
My scenario is  File ->XI-> File.
This is just a pass through data that is no IR objects.
I need to pick the file from App server(AL11) of R/3 sys , we have a dir as "/sai/output"
so in order to pick file from the App server of R/3 sys using NFS,
the dir "/sai/output" is mounted into the App server(AL11) of XI ie.., there is a same dir in AL11 of XI as "/sai/ouput".
so when ever the file(sai.txt) is placed in the "/sai/output" in r/3  App server , i am able to see the file(sai.txt) in the "/sai/output" in XI App server.
what i am trying to do is pick the file(sai.txt) and place the file(kumar.txt) it in same dir " /sai/output" of XI Appserver using NFS.
sender cc parameters are like these :
    Transport protocol : NFS
    source dir :    \sai\output\
    filename :      sai.txt
    Qos : Exactly once
    Poll intervel : 10sec
    processing mode : delete
Receiver cc parameters are like these:
    Transport protocol : NFS
    target dir :     \sai\output\
    filename :      kumar.txt
    So my questions are
    1) can i place the file in  App server (AL11) dir "/sai/ouput" of XI where i am picking the file it from the same location ie.., App server (AL11) dir "/sai/output"
    2) If so, the procedure(cc parameters) which i have shared is correct.
    Correct me if am wrong.
    Thanks
    Sai

    Hi Sai,
The files need rwx bits to be set before being picked up by channel
Thus you need to use "chmod +777 sai.txt" before the file is picked up.
Thus you can try set up the parameter "operating system command before processing" to "chmod +777 sai.txt" in the channel.
you can look into this link for setting this parameter
    /people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/09/21/executing-unix-shell-script-using-operating-system-command-in-xi
How are you accessing the file directory? if you are using WINSCP, you can right click on the file and check the read, write, execute bits on for the file.
"/out/output " is perfectly ok for UNIX/LINUX operating system.
Now in RWB pls check the polling of communication channel.
and check in SXMB_MONI whether some messages are being received or not.

  • Can I run perl scripts on a iplanet App Server instead of web server

    Hello,
We have some perl scripts running on a iWS 6.0 in DMZ (Tier1) which acess Oracle Server(Tier 3). I want to restrict machines on DMZ access Oracle server directly. Instead I want all the database calls to orignate from iPlanet App server on Tier 2. To make this happen I have to run Perl scripts on App server. Is this feasible as the J2EE iPlanet App can run only C++ or Java.. Any leads helps me lot..
    Thanks
    Sudhir Nallagangu

According to the J2EE specs you should use EJBs and Servlets in the iAS! Running a perl script for db access sounds like good old cgi times.
But generally it is possible to call a perl script from within iAS. But don't do it!

  • Tomcat instead of App Server

App Server is great, but it takes over 100MB in memory.
I just need to make and try basics JSF pages. So, App Server is big for that.
How can I setup Tomcat instead App Server?
    Thanks.

No luck here, no "Add Deployment Server" option appears even with Tomcat running.
Also can't use default app server becauseit can't find a java compiler (Tomcat? error msg) even though I copied tools.jar into every lib folder available.

  • Issue configuring DAD on HTTP Server within 10g App Server

This time with a sensible subject...
I am trying to configure the HTTP Server within 10g Application Server with a DAD pointing to an instance hosted on the same server. However whenever I apply the DAD settings and re-start the server I am told the DAD is down. I have tried many permutations of the connection string all without success. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem and can suggest a resolution. I am carrying out the same steps as I would for a 9i HTTP Server and can only think it is a difference for 10g App Server.

Reviewing the mod_plsql services page, it says 'Module Loaded No'. I have reviewed the httpd.conf and oracle_apache_conf files and both suggest that mod_plsql should be started but this is obviously not the case.

  • Logging in App Server 7 and App Server 8

    Hi,
We have an application (servlets/MDBs/EJBs) running in the Sun Application Server 7 that we want to run on the Sun Application Server 8 (J2EE 1.4.2).
The application has logging facilities with various objects having their own java.util.logging.Logger...
    java.util.logging.Logger m_logger = java.util.logging.Logger.getLogger( "ServletLogger" ) ;
    m_logger.fine( "How do I get this in the App Server log file?" );
To enable the above logging in App Server 7, I would simply set the global App Server logging level to "FINE" using the admin console. How can I do the same with the App Server 8?
I've tried using the admin console to set the App Server logging levels to "FINE", but they seem to only effect the App Server itself and not the code it is running. I've also tried adding the following properties in the "Logging Levels" page of the admin console...
    ServletLogger FINE
    ServletLogger.level FINE
    .level FINE
but they don't seem to make any difference? Any help will be most appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Paul

Goto the admin console (port 4848 for default domain).
Click on Topmost Leftmost link -- "Application Server."
    choose the "Logging" Tab.
    Choose the "Log Levels" tab.
    add a new property
com.company.app.applogger        FINER and in your code, :-
Logger applogger = Logger.getLogger("com.company.app.applogger "); Now if only I knew how to keep a separate log file for this.
