WEBUTIL Install/java init error
I am trying to run WEBUTIL in my pc in a development environment but can get the applet to start when I add webUtilArchive=/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar,/forms90/webutil/jacob.jar to my formsweb.cfg file. If I add it I get a java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError, if I remove this command I get a WUC-015 error. I know it needs to be there and have reviewed the install instruction many times, but can't seem to find any thing that I haven't done. In the development environment I can open the webutil_canvas with only the OLE bean missing. The only method I am using in the form right now is WEBUTIL_FILE.COPY_FILE. This is the first time I have used a bean on this computer and only have the default config/env files besides the webutil install changes.
Hi,
Can you please share your solution with me about correctly installing jacob.jar.
I have done everything, created cert and signed the cert twice but I still get the same answer that you got.
Thanks.

I've not the expert of Java Engine. But based on your error here, there should be the issue of swap space.
So, how about your memory space and swap space setup? I think swap space need 3 or 4 times as the physical memory.
Hope that helps.

Hello,
For reasons of economy and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I'm still running with a G5 Dual 2.0 PowerPC at 10.4.11 for my music and photography studio. Married, two lovely children and an adorable wife, so can't afford to upgrade, and anyway, it works. Mostly.
I have two boot disks, cloned using SuperDupa which I test regularly. I've recently been having a few minor niggles so I decided to rebuild one of the disks from scratch as this hasn't been done in a couple of years. Erase the disk using Disk Utility, clean os-x install from the original disks, patch the system using Software Update then bit by bit load all the applications and gradually rebuild the whole system.
All going well until I get to Adobe CS3. When I run setup to install CS3 I get the following error;
JavaScript Alert
Critical errors were found in the setup
- The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media. Please see Setup log file for details.
I've done some research and found that this is mostly about an unclean uninstall of CS3 when reinstalling, and is fixed by either running a CS5 cleanup program, which doesn't apply in this case as I've done a clean install (and it won't run anyway) and the boot disk is the only disk mounted. The other fix is to erase the disk and do a clean o/s install, which is I've done. That hasn't worked either.
I've tried running the setup on the other boot disk (at 10.4.11) and also on my MacBook Pro (at 10.6.8) and it works both times.
Any clues would be apprecaited.
thanks and regards
SimonWell, I have a fix, but not the cause.
original boot disk is already cloned using SuperDupa so I have a backup
erase second disk and run a custom install of os-x from the orginal 10.4 disks (including OS 9 Classic)
custom install - printers and language translators not included
X11 not incuded
run Software Update to patch the system
run Onyx
install CS3 from original disks - fails with JavaScript alert
copy /library/applicaiton support/adobe/installers/big_long_number/payloads +resources +setup from original boot disk to rebuild disk
install CS3 - works perfectly
I'm at a loss here. It seems that my reinstall of 10.4 is putting something into the Adobe installers area which the install of CS3 doesn't like. What that might be is beyond me. Adobe Reader might be a cuiprite but I haven't installed anything at this stage.
So, there's the work around; no idea what the cause might be. I'l try again sometime soon when I rebuild the MacBook Pro (10.6.8) but that's going to be a while yet.
Thanks all,
Simon -

I am not able to locate where the problem is.
Can any one suggest me some solution to this problem.
Regards,
Rajesh PatelHI,
Are you installing J2EE Add-in with SSL option activated ? If so, I think there is some IAIK/SSL libraries that have to presented on server to proceed with installation successfully. You can also try installing Add-in without SSL/https option activated and configure SSL afterwards.

SAP NetWeaver 7.3 AS Java install error in Install Java Engine phase
Hi All,
I am doing my first installation of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 AS Java on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Oracle database 11.2.0.3, this is a domain installation.
I have been following the SAP Installation guide and everything has been going well but I am now stuck with an error in the Install Java Engine phase of the installation.
The error message I am receiving is:
An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.3 > SAP Systems > Application Server Java > Standard System > Standard System( Last error reported by the step: Process call 'C:\usr\sap\E1D\J00\exe\jstart.exe pf=\\sourcing\sapmnt\E1D\SYS\profile\E1D_J00_sourcing -file=C:\usr\sap\E1D\J00\exe\startup.properties -nodename=bootstrap -launch' exits with error code 1. For details see log file(s) jstart_bootstrap_J00.log.)
When I check the jstart_bootstrap_J00.log it is empty.
I have done some searching for a solution for this error and it seems it may be related to the database not running. I can confirm that I have run lsnrctl start and also, in sqlplus, run startup; both commands showed that the starting of the listener and database were successful.
Does anyone know what might be causing this error?
Many thanks
DanHi Srikishan,
In C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\NW73\INSTALL\NW73\ORA\STD the file jstart_bootstrap_J00.log is empty.
In C:\usr\sap\E1D\J00\work there was no jstart_bootstrap_J00.log file, however there was a file called log_bootstrap.0.log, the contents are:

Do anybody came accross this issue? I had 11gR2 Grid Infrastructure installed on this server, but for demostration to other team members, I removed the earlier installation using Metalink Note :942166.1. I will appreciate your input.

ShailandraHi,
One of the recommended solution for this issue by Oracle.
Have the DISPLAY variable set when running root.sh. This is the th recommendation by oracle to a SR opened by another vendor for this issue.

A strange Java related error occured when I tried to install a software
When I tried to install Maple 12 on my PC, I got a Java-related error as follow:

My OS is Windows XP Professional with SP3. However, I managed to install this version on a virtual machine (which also runs Windows XP SP3) therefore the problem does not come from the installer.
What can I do now to install Maple 12? I really need this software...
Thanks!

HI ,
i am upgrading the JAVA Engine 6.20 to 700
i am having the following error .
PREPARE/INIT/DETERMINE_PROFILES
Error while retrieving profile using filter SCSInstanceFilter/sid:SRD/host:null.
Both ABAP and JAVA Sytem are present on smame host .
is there any difference between file structure of JAVA 620 and 640> higher
bcoz i am not able to see SCS<xx> directory structure on this machine .
i have no idea about java system
please hlep me to analyse the things
regards
sachinHI
yes first i have to upgrade my SDM 620 version into SDM 6.40 SP13 level . But my major conser is that .
i believe my client has installed JAVA system as Dialog instance instead of Central instance . ( on ABAP system)
Because i am notable to see Dir SCS<xx> and 2 java Profiles in the Profiles directory .
so this could be the possible reason of my above error .if yes than can we upgrade JAVA Dialog instance without JAVA Centeral instance . ( which i believe possible NOT) .
if yes the what will be the procedure .
also if we cant then can we uninstalle the j2ee 620 engine and install new java system on this machine .
Platfom is HP Unix

Searching the internet for solutions to this and some discussion with Adobe.
Adobe say Photoshop does not use java so it should not be asking for a java runtime.
The question is how can I stop Photoshop asking to install java since Photoshop does not need or use Java to run?
Found various links that might be helpful:

Java 7 & OS X
Known Issues with Adobe Software on OS X Lion
Adobe's Installing Java SE 6However as I have Oracle Java SE 7 installed and SE 6 is deprecated and no longer supported for security reasons.
Apple is actually responsible for Java 6's security. They take Oracle's code and do whatever is needed to make it compatible with Apple's OS. Java 6 is still getting security updates from Apple. Versions 6 and 7 can also exist on the same drive. They won't interfere with each other.
Also I am assured in no uncertain terms by Chris Cox over at Adobe that Photoshop CS 5 does not use java at all and that the java error message and so called dependency is just an error on the part of Apple.
I did find a topic where Chris stated that for CS6, which I know is true. I've installed CS6 (and CC) on a newly formatted drive in Mountain Lion, and neither made any mention of requiring Java. Could have sworn CS5.5 and earlier did you Java for a few functions. Though I likely only assumed that since that version and earlier always causes a prompt to install Java if it isn't already on the drive.
So is there any way to run Photoshop with SE 7 only installed or even better with no java installed?
It doesn't really matter much if Java is installed. Java 6 should put an app in the Utilities folder by the name of Java Preferences. Open that, and you can completely disable it by undoing the check boxes.
Perhaps there is a way to make OS X stop thinking it needs java SE 6 to run Photoshop CS 5.
Apple would have to make a change to the OS itself. It's a not a user accessible setting. -
Java runtime error while executing install.sh - installing Oracle Clinical 4i
Hello DBA's
1. I am trying to install an Oracle App on a SUN SPARC 20 with 256 MB / 9.1
GB. (solaris 8)
2. I installed Oracle 8i EE completely and created the DB using Oracle
Universal Installer. So the Java components and runtime were also installed
I presume. I have it in /usr/java1.2 with links made during install.
3. Did post installation according to the manual.
4. Did pre-installation for install of Oracle Clinical application.
5. Put the OC CD into the drive and typed install.sh as requested.
Error: The Java Runtime environment was not found at
.. /../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8.10/1/Datafiles/Expanded/solaris/bin/
jre Hence the universal installer cannot be run.
I am struggling for 2 months now and I am hoping that some guru will wipe
out the frustration and anxiety that has made my hair grey. I have also
included the contents of the oraparam.ini for Oracle 8i and Oracle CLinical.
They look almost the same but for some reason, the Oracle Universal
installer does not seem to work for the Oracle Clinical installation.
What could be the reason for this Jav runtime Error. I check the web and
other sites, but no conceivable answer. I have no access to Metalink. What
do I have to do to make the universal installer work.
Your help is really really appreciated.
