Webutil with Forms6i

Hello,
Is there anyone who could send me Forms6i configuration files that work correctly with webutil (default.env, formsweb.cfg) ?
Thanks

Note that this is something we will not support and we know that some functions may not work correctly.
You need to be using 9i or 10g.

  • D2kwutil running with Forms6i under Windows XP

    Hi
    I'm trying to run D2kwutil.pll version 6.0.6.0 with Forms6i 6.0.8.8.0 under Windows XP and it's not working when I try to call WIN_API_FILE package. I tryed to run the demo form (WAPIDEMO) that I downloaded with the PLL but they don't run either - As a matter of fact, this form don't open.
    Does anyone know what can I do to solve, I mean, to run this PLL under Windows XP - if it is possible?
    Thanks

    How can anyone help if you don't describe the problem? Saying "it doesn't work" is of no value whatsoever.

    Forms Product Management Not to be critical or anything Robin, but publicly berating and humiliating your customers doesn't help anyone either.
    This is especially true when its obvious from the name and the return email address that the person is Brazilian and is at least making the attempt to communicate the issue in English. Would you have understood their problem better if they'd used their native tongue? Obviously something didn't translate well - and it came accross as "its broken".
    And by the way, the customer did describe some of what was wrong... they attempted to open a specific demo form, which came bundled with the PLL file from YOUR company, and it wouldn't even open. They are running XP and Forms 6i, which as far as I last knew was not a certified product combination (which is likely part of the problem).
    A little effort (and a kind word) might go a long way toward finding a solution. And if you're just burnt out or having bad day, try to remember that its not OUR fault.
    With all due sincerity,

  • Webutil  with application server 10.1.2.0.2

    hello for all
    how i deploy webutil with application server 10.1.2.0.2

    I think the question was about requirements to create and run WebCenter centric applications and portlets in general. Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the context of the question about reuse of an existing AS 10gR2 platform? This would only make sense if the existing platform could be used for any parts of the Webcenter application - JSF runtime and portlets. Webcenter has to be setup on a 10gR3 container so you have at least one 10gR3 instance involved - at least for the Webcenter app. So why should you have an interest to mix up your application architecture with a 10gR2 based portlet deployment
    Also, if you want to use a 10gR2 container for your portlets you can only build portlets based on a 10gR2 PDK/portlet container. A 10gR3 PDK requires a 10.1.3.1 minimum release of the OC4J. Hence a 10gR2 for portlets doesn't make any sense for a Webcenter application.

  • Webutil in forms6i

    I realize webutil is not supported for forms 6i. However, we are not planning on using forms 9i/10g soon and would like to use webutil if possible.
    My question is, has anyone successfully used webutil with forms 6i / (should I spend time trying to get it to work)?
    Thanks

    Mark, there are some features which will not work but generally speaking this is "do-able" (and I have heard of people doing this) - however, by not going to 9i you won't be in a supported environment and you will be missing out on alot of the new features in 9i 10g.

  • Can we use WebUtil with Oracle Forms 6i

    Can any one tell me if we can use WebUtil with Oracle Forms 6i..I have 11.5.9 instance of oracle apps and i want to use some features of WebUtil to customize one of seeded Oracle Form.
    Any pointers in this regard are quiet welcome.
    Thanks,

    Strictly speaking no...however you could "backport" the webutil code and in theory you could get some of the functionality to work - this is not supported in the context of oracleForms although Oracle Applications may have their own specific solution/certification of this.

  • FRM-92102 in Forms using Webutil with JInitiator

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm facing the error FRM-92102 in Forms in some clients, that's driving my crazy. The facts are:
    * Oracle Application Server 10g R2 10.1.2 with Patchset 10.1.2.2.0 applied (left to apply patchset as doc 404477.1 in Metalink) on Windows 2003 Server Std. Ed. 64 bits.
    * JInitiator 1.3.1.26 on all clients (Windows XP and Windows 2000)
    * WebUtil 10.1.2.2
    * heartBeat = 35, set in App's section of formsweb.cfg
    * networkRetries = 60 in App's section of formsweb.cfg
    * Modified versions of baseHTMLjinitiator(to be used with JInitiator) and baseHTMLjpi to take into account the heartBeat and networkRetries parameters.
    * FORMS_TIMEOUT set to 30 in application.env
    I've seen that this error happens with Windows XP clients only (with SP2 and/or SP3 applied), while in Windows 2000 with SP4 I get no error at all and the Form works and ens without any problem.
    I've seen that increasing networkRetries parameter increase the likelihood of Forms to end normally, but that doesn't seem a good solution: at which value must I bring it to ?
    The captured Java console of one of this errors is as follows:

  • Display blob with forms6i

    Hi,
    i thought it would be easy ti find how to do it nut from searching this site and with google i couldn;t find the answer for that.
    i have blobs in a table (jpg,doc,pdf ...) .
    how can i display those blobs (jpg,doc,pdf ...) in forms6i ?
    can you give me step by step how to .
    thanks allot for any help
    Zvika

    You can display a jpg image in an image item. But you cannot directly show pdf in Forms (like you do with a plugin in a browser). You can put the file on the file system and then open it with a HOST command or the DDE package.
    This is an example from the online help:
    ** Start MS Excel with spreadsheet emp.xls loaded
    DECLARE
      AppID  PLS_INTEGER;
    BEGIN
        AppID := DDE.App_Begin('c:\excel\excel.exe emp.xls',
         DDE.App_Mode_Minimized);
    END;

  • WebUtil with Forms 9i AS

    We have developed application in both 6i and 9i. user can use both client server and web layout as per his convinince. Now we are generating files using TEXT_IO package, these files are created on server if user is using web and on his matchine if user is using client server. when I write code to open this file it works perfectly with client server with HOST command, but I am unable to open file at server by WEB.OPEN_DOCUMENT() command, can u help me ??????
    how can I configure my AS so file can be open from server.

    Nishith,
    you need to write the files into a directory that can be accessed from teh web. Then you can use the file download facilties of webutil, or access it directly using web.show_document('URL','_blank');

  • Oracle 9i with Forms6i (having problems with objects)

    I am using Oracle 9i server and dev 6i (forms6i).
    i have a form based on Object tables (including REF's items). when i try to insert update, delete the reocrd in the form, it gives error.
    Insert/Update/Delete failed because of OCI_22132: hexadecimal string does not corresopond to a valid REF.
    when i remove REFs items from form (not from database) then it does all functions (insert,update,delete,query).
    Actually i haved used this form with Oracle 8i and it did all functions(insert,update,delete,query). i am using the same tables and types definations in Oracle 9i but it is not working.
    Note: Insert, Update, Delete, or Query is not being done through forms when using REFs items. Others tools like sql*plus are performing the same actions very well.
    Please help.
    I will be thankful to you.

    Not laughing here. This is a long shot, and I have almost no experience with database links, but could you maybe keep an 8.1.7 server running for the Forms 3 forms, and create database links and synonyms on the 8.1.7 server linking to the data on the 9.2 server?

    Mohammad,
    If you have a Oracle Support customer id, you should go to http://metalink.oracle.com to file an iTAR about this.

    Add the mentioned class (or in this specific case, the JAR file with the mentioned class) to the classpath of your runtime environment and you're fine.

  • WebUtil with ActiveX

    Can webUtil used to deploy form with activeX control (Image capture ActiveX control). hope to find a demo form

    What do you do with the active/X is it embedded in your Forms UI or are you just calling to it using OLE2 package to activate the image capturing?
    The second option will work with WebUtil.

  • Webutil with JPI

    Hi All,
    i have a strange case , i managed to configure Webutil under my 10.1.2 AS and jini. , and after that i replaced the jini. with jpi , it works fine but it takes alot of time to load the forms that contains Webutil usage almost (50sec.) where it takes only 2-3 sec. , any hints .... Thanks

    most of the time this means that your webutil.pll isn't good attached but it is very dependant on the versions you working on.
    Post your versions of forms ias and webutil.
    In older version it is sometimes necessary to first subclass the webutil group and then attach the webutil.pll. Other way around didn't work (was in beta version 1.02 I believe)

  • Webutil with IE=native, can't get it up and running

    Hi,
    I'm impressed on the WebUtil functionality. Got it up and running smoothly using JInitiator. Great Stuff!
    My problem appears with a customer that wants me to deploy this functionality through native JVM of IE6.0.
    Did anyone of you manage to get Webutil up and running not using JInitiator but the native IE JVM??
    (When will webutilbase.htm be included in WebUtil?)
    Any help would be appreciated!!
    Kind Regards, Marc Vahsen
    =====================================================
    Details:
    I managed to:
    - create cab files for webutil.jar and jacob.jar, resulting in webutil.cab and jacob.cab
    When I try to invoke the first form that uses the webutil object group, I get errors:
    - FRM-92100 (connection to server lost)
    - Details: FRM-92040 Java class not found, javax.swing.JLabel
    Trying to analyze this with my restricted java knowledge, I see that this class is present in rt.jar, which is added to my (server) classpath in default.env.
    Should I make a cab file for this one also??
    Further analysis shows that the webutiljini.htm contains an extra "section" that calls oracle.forms.webutil.common.RegisterWebUtil.
    As the file 'webutilbase.htm' is missing in webutil_102.zip, I tried to create this htm file myself, with extra section:
    <!-- Registration applet definition (start) -->
    <APPLET CODEBASE="%codebase%"
    CODE="oracle.forms.webutil.common.RegisterWebUtil"
    WIDTH="0"
    HEIGHT="0">
    <PARAM NAME="cabbase" VALUE="webutil.cab,jacob.cab">
    <PARAM NAME="serverURL" VALUE="%serverURL%">
    <PARAM NAME="networkRetries" VALUE="%networkRetries%">
    </APPLET>
    <!-- Registration applet definition (end) -->
    This however does not work, and reduced my left options to 1: post a topic on OTN!

    Extra information:
    The code section that is unreadable in the topic description above (without the less than / greater than signs reads:
    APPLET CODEBASE="%codebase%"
    CODE="oracle.forms.webutil.common.RegisterWebUtil"
    WIDTH="0"
    HEIGHT="0"
    PARAM NAME="cabbase" VALUE="webutil.cab,jacob.cab"
    PARAM NAME="serverURL" VALUE="%serverURL%"
    PARAM NAME="networkRetries" VALUE="%networkRetries%"
    /APPLET
