After I published my iCal, all I see is
Published: Wed, Dec 31, 1969 | America/Chicago.
I have seen 7 posts in regards to this topic. Is there a solution I can find from the iCal forum?
Thanks in advance.
Mel

Laurent was a deaf student when he was in France. He moved to America to teach a deaf girl back in 1700's. Now, we, the Deaf people, are exciting to hear the news about the new Deaf Town named after him.
Since we are in the hearing world, we need to say the "Sign Language Community" to make hearing people to feel they are welcome. If you visit the local Deaf club near your home and ask someone who already heard about Laurent, SD., someone would say the Deaf Town or Deaf Community.
Deaf town or community is open to anyone who uses sign language. They can be parents with deaf child(s), sign language interpreters, spouses, etc. If there are few people who knows sign language in the town, we would not call it a Deaf town. "Sign language community" is not a politically correct. Let's wait and see.
Trust me on this issue, Mr. Dancin' Brook. I am a member of the deaf community for many years and they are my people, my culture, and my language.
(If you want to discuss more about it, let's discuss outside of the Apple Discussion page. We can discuss via email.)

  • Downloads Date blank (actually Dec 31, 1969)

    When downloading files using Safari (Download Linked File As...), the resultant file has a date of Dec 31, 1969, when viewing in a Terminal Window using the "ls -lrt" command. The File appears in the Finder with a Modified Date of "------". The same file downloaded using Firefox has correct Modified Date (Today's date) in the Finder Window. Has anyone else noticed this behavior and is there a fix for it? I'm using Version 4.0.3 (4531.9) of Safari.

    Instead of using Kodak's app try using Image Capture (it's already loaded on your system) and drop using the Kodak product. If you can't find Image Capture you can launch it (and any app) by typing Command + Spacebar then type the first few letters of the app and Spotlight will locate it for you.

  • Empty Threads dated Dec 31, 1969 7:00pm  HELP!

    Within the last few days this issue has started.
    I delete a text conversation and it drops to the bottom, appears empty and shows the date of Dec 31, 1969 7:00pm.
    My conversation list is growing.  I'm using the stock sms not Handcent or Go....
    Anyone else having this issue?
    I've checked out other forums and there appears to be people having the same problem but no answers yet.
    Thanks.

    yes, there are a number of threads about this issue on this forum, with various fixes offered; however, I don't believe anything has been resolved to date, unfortunately

  • Help- My comp resets the date to Dec 31, 1969!

    Im up for suggestions. Can anyone help, please? My computer shuts off a few mins after I unplug my adapter. When I turn it back on, I see a error message saying the date and time is Dec. 31 1969. This only happens when I am running on battery power. The battery still has plenty of power. Any help would be apreciated.
    Thank you

    If you have never done so, I would look at replacing the back up battery. Some have the 922-5767 and others have different batteries. Go to the Apple menu and pick "About This Mac". In the dialog box that comes up there's a button for more info. Select that and it will tell you what model of Mac you have. It may tell you what backup battery you have, I don't know for sure not having a PowerBook. From there it is straight forward to finding the battery type. There also are scads of threads about testing and replacing your battery. I use MacTracker to give me most of all the info I need on the hardware in my and other's Macs.

  • Why does Firefox Security Updates 3.6.8 & 3.6.9 say installed on Dec.31, 1969? Details link doesn't work. The 3.6.7 was installed on July 21, 2010.

    I saw a quick Firefox notice at the lower corner of my screen about security updates available or being installed so when I checked to see what they were, I found an installed update 3.6.7 on 7-20-2010, and the next one 3.6.8, said installed on 12-31-1969, the next one 3.6.8 says installed on 12-31-1969, and the last one 3.6.10 installed on 9-16-2010. I've clicked on the details link but nothing happens. Firefox has been acting a little strange lately (won't get out of Firefox when I click out of it unless I shut down my laptop, using 100% CPU and freezing so I have to shut down through Task Manager) can it be some kind of bug/glitch?

    Firefox safe mode is meant for diagnostic purposes and not for permanent usage.
    Possible suspects can be the BitDefender extensions (BitDefender QuickScan, BitDefender Antiphishing Toolbar) and plugin (BitDefender QuickScan Web Netscape Plugin)
    You can also remove the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension.<br />
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java#Multiple_Java_Console_extensions
    Disable the Java Quick Starter extension: Tools > Addons > Extensions
    Control Panel > Java > Advanced tab > Miscellaneous >Java Quick Starter (disable)
    See http://www.java.com/en/download/help/quickstarter.xml - What is Java Quick Starter (JQS)? What is the benefit of running JQS? - 6.0
    If it does work correctly in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />

  • Calendar resets to dec 31, 1969

    Everytime I shutdown/ restart, iCal and computer's date and time reset to 1969. I have to reset the date and time everytime. Any ideas why?
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Could be something to do with the small battery on the motherboard that provides power to retain this type of data. You should get this checked-out.

  • My iPod date is dec 31 1969. Have not used in a long time cannot get it to do anything

    Need help to update phone

    Settings - General - Date & Time
    You can get it to set automatically, which will use location services to find out your time zone and update the time. Or you can turn this off and set it yourself.

  • Constant Reboots and Incorrect Date/Time

    My phone constantly shuts down and the red light blinks very slow - maybe once every 15 seconds. If I remove the battery when the phone comes back on it shows a date/time of Wed, Dec 31 1969 7pm???

    Have you installed some applications/themes on your blackberry ?
    First of all - let's avoid software/wrong memory info issue.
    Backup all your sensitive data via Blackberry Desktop Manager.
    Go to Options-Security Options-General Settings. Open menu and select "Wipe handheld".
    It will clean your device memory. After that restore your data back.
    Does it help ?
    If no - there is something wrong with your device. Take it to the Blackberry Service Center/Repair shop for diagnostics.
    If it is under warranty - ask for the replacement.

  • RE6500 Time Incorrect After Firmware 1.0.03 Build 6, Une 10, 2015 Update

    Since performing the above update to my RE6500, the time now starts out on Wed, Dec 31, 1969, and begins counting upwards from there.  Any thoughts on how to fix this?

    Try to reset the extender and reconfigure its settings. Then reboot the extender to refresh the connection.

  • FMS 3.5 DVR Using Flash Media Live Encoder 3.0

    Hi,
    I am trying to work out the DVR feature of FMS 3.5 by using
    the Flash Media Live Encoder 3.0 but it failed.
    On right bottom of the Flash Media Live Encoder's UI, there
    is a check box labeled "". I subscribed a live stream to FMS 3.5
    with that check box checked and the server side report a error:
    Method not found (DVRSetStreamInfo).
    So it seems that the FMLE send a remote function call on the
    sever side but the server side script has no definition of this
    method.
    Dose anybody know how to get rid of the problem.
    Thanks,
    Ang

    here's some sample code you can use in a server-side action-script to deal with the fme dvr recording:
    (a list of all available properties can be found at the end of this post)
    Client.prototype.DVRSetStreamInfo = function(dvr_obj)
         //    if the date is Wed Dec 31 1969 it's starting
        if (dvr_obj.stopRec.getFullYear() <= 1970)
            //place code here to start / continue recording.
            /* sample:
              var new_stream = Stream.get("recorded_ " + dvr_obj.streamName);
              if (new_stream)
                   if (dvr_obj.append)
                        new_stream.record("append");
                   else
                        new_stream.record();
                   new_stream.play(dvr_obj.streamName);
        else
            //place code here to stop recording.
              /* sample:
              var new_stream = Stream.get("recorded_ " + dvr_obj.streamName);
             if (new_stream)
                 new_stream.record(false);
    here is a list of properties available to the "dvr_obj" passed from FMLE:
    - all properties below are informational only they are meant to be used on the server-side to pass the information to the correct function.
    streamName : string
    callTime : date
    startRec : date
    stopRec : date
    maxLen : number
    begOffset : number
    endOffset : number
    append : boolean (fmle sets this to true if the stream was cut-off without the user pressing "stop" or if the user pressed "pause"...)
    offline : boolean

  • Date and time says Dec. 31, 1969

    My ipod touch has a date of Dec, 31, 1969 and it will not change to the present, anyone else had this problem or can anyone help to fix it.  Thank you

    I had the same thing happen to me and for some reason when I turned off the Wi-Fi connection I was able to reset the time and date. After I turned the Wi-Fi connection back on, everything worked fine again.

  • Messages from 1969? Can't delete!

    There are several messages in my inbox they have no subject, they are dated dec 31 1969 and I cant delete them.  These do not show up on my phone or main pc. Has anyone else had this issue? Or know how to fix?

    Reset your iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears- ignore the red slider - let the iPad restart.

  • Mavericks sets file date to 1969

    Since upgrading to Mavericks, I found that my system reset several modification dates on files to Dec 31, 1969 and set the email that came in on the day of the installation to 1969 instead of to the current date.  It seems that the bad file dates are on DropBox for the actual bad mod dates, but the email was on the local computer.
    Anyone seen this behavior and have a fix?  From what I read it may have been something on the install where the computer was not connected to network time or something.  However,  I don't see a way to change the mod dates on files.

    Same here...
    Mac OS: 10.10.2 (14C109)
    NAS: WD MyCloud EX2 (1.05.30 firmware)
    I connect to the NAS via AFP and SMB. Via AFP moving the files resets the creation to Monday, 6 Feb 2040 07:28 and modification date to present now. Via SMB everything works fine.
    This only happens when you MOVE files to the NAS via AFP. If you COPY, everything is OK. SMB works OK on both.
    SMB can be a workaround for this for now. For those who don't know how to connect via SMB.... Press Cmd-K and provide the IP of NAS like this: smb://192.168.0.20 or cifs://192.168.0.10 if smb doesn't work. If NAS supports SMB (Samba), then you're OK.
    BTW> I've lost date for some movies because of that. Made some family videos, moved to the NAS and BANG, now I don't know when it was taken exacly JPGs have EXIF, MOV don't

    Anybody know WHAT HAPPEN??  A virus or Intrusion.

    Most likely faulty battery. Make Genius Appointment and take iPhone to Apple, battery diagnostic test by Genius takes less than 5 minutes.
