Wedding Pictures Help

I recently got married and would like to setup a site where all of our guests can go and download wedding pictures. Is it possible to allow downloads from a photo page in iWeb? Or is there a better option?
It would be nice to create a cool website, but I am now wondering if simply putting them up on iDisk might be a better option.
Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Hi Craig...
Congratulations!
I think iWeb would be an easy way to display your photos. You could use one of the photo templates and display the photos using the Apple enhanced slideshow. This method is very simple and straightforward.
Now with iWeb and the photo template, it is possible for your visitors to simply control-click on the slideshow images and save them to their own computers. However it is important to keep in mind that the photos will only be 800x600 in resolution. I think this would be sufficient for 4x6 prints but that's about it.
If your goal is to let people print out photos if they want to, it might be a good idea to upload your full resolution photos to one of the online services like Snapfish or Shutterfly. Then they could get any sort of enlargements on photo paper and such.
In fact, you could do both. You can use iWeb to put your photos up in a nice slideshow with your personal touches and also provide a link to a shared album at one of the online photo services for printouts. Of course, you can also put a not on your iWeb site to let people know they can control-click to save photos as well.
These are just some of the simplest options with the least amount of effort and time required so that you can share your good news and good memories without delay! Congratulations again!

I had a one month old Mac book pro and the hard drive fried! I was down loading a friends wedding pictures when it stopped working and started heating up. I plugged it in and turned it off as it was making a clicking noise. When I turned it back on the was a grey box with a question mark and nothing else. When I took my memory card out the pictures were gone. I took it back to best buy where I bought it and they said it was dead, needed a new hard drive and all my info is lost! Is there any way to get back those irreplaceable wedding pictures?

There are some data recovery programs (software). I would look into that for the images on the card. When files are deleted, the files are still there, just the headers are removed. That being said, a format of the card or new files written to the card can overwrite deleted files.
The physical hard drive could be thousands of dollars to forensically save, with no guarantee.

So I cannot scan my pictures, help.  Windows 8.1 with HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer.  Scanner works with other programs in my PC.  Problem is PS12

I bought the Officejet 6500A Plus about one month and have experienced the very same problem. I tried to remedy this problem following suggestions in a number of different posts (static IP, router, firewalls etc), all to no avail. Last week I called support. The support I received by the tech over several hours and different days for a week was very good. However none of his suggestions corrected the connection issue. After today's recommended fix failed, he advised HP is aware of this issue with the 6500 and other affected printers. He claimed HP was working on a firmware upgrade. He did not know when the update would be provided. The tech also claimed HP acknowledged this problem in a written announcement. He agreed to email the announcement to me. I haven't received it. This has been the only problem I've had with the 6500

    Hi,
This seems so simple but I am struggling due to lack of
    experience!
Here is the page I am creating:
    http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=6568753&size=lg
Basically the "Wedding 01" drop down and the photo are all
part of a Flash slide show created with Slide Show Pro. I am
putting this page together in Dreamweaver 3. I designed it in PS7
and sliced it up and pieced it together in nested tables. One thing
that is giving me issue is I don't know how to keep the grey
swooshy "M" in the background intact when I insert the Flash
slideshow into Dreamweaver? The flash slideshow extends all the way
around the white line and encompasses the drop down-so the real
problem area is the swoosh on the right to side of the box. Is
there something I could do with transparancy for the background of
the document while publishing out of Flash CS 3? I don't know how I
could make this work? Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Martin.

Have you tried the wmode parameter?

  • Lost Pictures, Help!!

I cannot find any pictures after May 2012 on my external hard drive even though I did a COMPLETE back up in Feb. 2013. Where can I find my pictures on the external hard drive?
I went to Users > "MaW1028" > Pictures > Right Click on Iphoto to show package contents
However all I found were folders from 1999-2012. I really need these pictures back!!
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

I'm happy to help out a user who's so good keeping good backups. Not everyone is as smart as you.
Instead of using iPhoto, see if you can perform a Spotlight search (command-space), and see if you can locate pictures you know should be there; i.e., look for familiar image names that might lead you to your lost photos. Also, in iPhoto, see if you can find the photos in the Trash. I'm presumimg that the recent photos might still be on your computer's HD, somewhere.
In Time Machine and even CarbonCopyCloner, you still might be able to retrieve your photos.

I got a new iPhone and not all of my pictures are showing on my photo stream. Help!

Photo stream photos are only kept in iCloud for 30 days, althrough up to 1000 photos will remain on your devices until deleted.  If you connect a new device to your photo stream, it will only receive photos added in the last 30 days as older photos have been removed.

  • LR 2.6 deleted 23,000 pictures - HELP!!!

Lightroom deletes 23,000 pictures in 2 seconds.  Can you give me any pointers on how to get them back?
I've never had a problem before and this morning like a shot of lightning, while switching back and forth between an archive catalog and this active catalog, now my picture are all coming up with those little ? in the corners telling me it cannot find the images. I know I exported one image from the catalog to Flickr using Friedl's  exporter, pressed the cancel button halfway through the export, switched  to a different catalog and when I came back to this catalog, everything was gone.
The LR catalog is fine, but poking around on my HD revealed that the folder structure for the images is completely gone.  Nothing shows up in the recycle bin, but Windows still shows these 300 GB of files as being used so I'm sure they are still out there somewhere.  I tried an unerase utility to see if a simple restore was possible, but I don't see the top level folder anywhere.  I have been very careful to not mess around too much as I don't want to ruin my chance of recovery.  Windows has not done a check disk on this drive yet,
For reference, Win XP 64 bit with LR 2.6 64 bit, and a very active catalog. Files are backed up every 2 weeks, but it will be a very nasty job to restore everything.  As luck would have it, a backup was due to run, so my restore will be 2 weeks out of date on this very active catalog.  Only the last 6 months of pictures is on this computer.
My 500 gig drive is partitioned as follows.
    Drive c:Windows partition 50 gig
Drive d: All data including pictures here 450 gig  (300 gigs of pictures are nowhere to be found but the space is still showing as used)
    My Pictures
       Pictures 2010
           Jan
              Jan 2 2010 Concert Shoot
              Jan 3 2010 Smith Wedding
           Feb
           Mar
           etc.....

I just read the thread now, but even just reading the original post, I wasn't worried for you, because LR can't delete 23,000 files in a few seconds.  It would take a much longer time to do that.  There was obviously just a catalog shift within Windows and outside of LR, so that all your files were still there in a new folder location. Remember that LR is at heart, in terms of photo management, a database program consisting of pointers that it records, stores and uses to locate your files.  (iTunes works in a similar way with .mp3 and other music and video files.)  If you use LR to move a file, LR should reset its pointer to the new location.  If you use Windows to move the file, LR's pointer is now incorrect and it can't find the image any longer.  The solution, as you found, is to restore the file to the location where Lightroom knew it last was.
Nonetheless, you are wise to treat this incident as you did, as a warning shot across the bow, and install real-time backup since your photo files are important to you.  Keep checking to make sure the backups are working as you expect. The only thing worse than not having backups is having a backup system that lets you down when you need it most.

  • Lost DNG adjustments for a WHOLE WEDDING! HELP!!!

As you can see, I am in a frantic stage. I just finished editing through close to 800 photos of a wedding that I recently shot. After I finished editing them I went to the floder location, in Windows, not Lightroom 3 (huge mistake), and I made a folder inside of that folder called "raw". I selceted all of the photos and then moved them into the that folder. So, the files were in weddings/021812/   and I put them in weddings/021812/raw/ . When I went to Lightroom, of course it said that the files were offline. Instead of finding the missing folder, I clicked "synchronize folder" and pointed towards the "raw" folder. I  noticed that the images were importing without their setting and I cancelled the synchronization. I went back to windows and moved all of the photos back to their original folder and now when I try to "update folder location", the photos do not show up in Lightroom. If anyone has a solution, it would be more than appreciated.

    jdcain19 wrote:
... what do you guys think about writing the metadata to the DNG after all of the editing is finished? That way if I move the files, they would retain their adjustments. I only use Adobe products, so being proprietary is not an issue.
This is a much discussed topic ....
The most important thing is backing up your catalog, as this contains ALL information about your images, whereas XMP data only contains a subset (no virtual copies, stacks, collections, flags, develop history).
Some people use writing out XMP as a "last resort" backup, but it is beneficial mainly for opening images with other applications than LR. Be aware that writing out metadata to DNGs updates the update timestamp of the files, so an (incremental) backup of those files will back them up again, although "only" metadata, and not the original, has been changed.
Also, what is the specific step that I need to take, after I edit all of my images, to make this happen? Do I select all of my images and hit ctrl+s? Thanks again for your help!
Yes, Ctrl-S will do the job, or have "Automatically write changes to XMP" checked in your catalog settings. Be aware that writing out metadata takes place in a background thread, and might take quite some time after applying many changes (like applying metadata to many selected images).

  • The lost pictures. help please!

I got a new iphone last week and I set up an icloud account on my old iphone to make sure I would have all of my pictures on my new iphone. Now I set up my new iphone and none of my pictures are there. Is there any way I can get those pictures back? Or is there anyway I can find them. Any help would be amazing!

Move the photos from the Trash bin in iPhoto onto the Library icon to get them back in their proper events.  Then check the thumbnails to see if they are still behaving the same.  If they are  make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Transfering pictures, HELP.

We are a multi-user family. When we first began using the mac we had everything on one account, and then once we got familiar with it we created multiple accounts one for each of the kids and one for the parents. However, all our photos were in the iphoto of the first account, and us kids would like our photos on our accounts for our use. However, we have not figured out how to transfer them, seeing as a mac is VERY different than a Windows PC which is what we have had since ever! please help us! thank you!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If each of you want your own library with your own photos duplicate the current library and copy it to each of your accounts on the Mac. Put a copy of the library in the Pictures folder for each user account.
Now you can log into your own account, open the library, delete those photos you don't want and end up with just those that you do. If each user does that they will have their own library.
To duplicate the library select it and type Command (⌘) + D. You can then rename each duplicate to any name you're like to make identification easy, i.e. Pop's Library, etc.

  • Just getting the apple picture HELP!

Ok, I have an Ipod touch. 16G. I havent dropped it or anything, all I get is the apple picture. I tried to let it run out of battery and just charge it again to see if that would do something, but no. nothing seems to be working.
    Help??

    Try a reset first.
Hold the Home (front) and the Sleep (top) buttons until it reboots to the Apple Logo.
Bypass the prompt to shut down.
If that fails to work, unplug it from your computer.
Hold the Home (front) button in while you attach to your computer - it should prompt you to restore.
    iTunes must be running.
If you bought anything on the Touch from the Application or iTunes store, it will be lost.
