Wedding Video Nightmare!! - I have an ongoing problem with getting the videos to playback correctly

This issue has been going on since about 3-4 months ago. Took a while to get familiar with workflow. But now I'm stumped big time and clients are getting impatient.
I will import a encoded video and audio file into encore. (.m4v & .ac3 ) and >new timeline and such
    looks great and no issues detected in Encore... it doesn't try and re-encode cause I already set the bitrate to around 20-22kbps
I author a put together a simple menu and burn to disc.
Crappy result 1:   Put it in the Blu Ray player in the living room and it plays fine for a while and then around 20-30 secs or so I notice 1 single frame of video - half of it is snow..just a flicker of half framed snow. a little time goes by and notice it again. It may do this through the whole video every minute or sometime 10 minutes...
Crappy result 2 :Another issue is audio just drops out for about 5 minutes and comes back... If I rewind the video and play it back.. it doesn't have audio drop out in the same time in the video.

Another issue .... this is from the brides email :
"So i just tried to watch both Blue ray disk. I tried it on 2 different blue ray dvd players. They are both freezing right after the boys pre ceremony part. "
I burned a copy from the image file this bride is complaining about and it played fine through the whole video.
I was thinking maybe I have a bad Blu Ray drive or discs ... however I'm not sure of this cause I do get errors often trying to burn discs direct from encore.
   Here's what I have
    Blu Ray internal: Asus BW-12B1ST   5months old
Can't tell you what BD-RE I am using at the moment but can someone recommend   Discs and a good Drive? Cause I'm about to go buy new ones and throw these down the crapper

Problems with getting the number of hits in the document.

I need to get the number of hits in the document.
I use the query template for this porpose as:

problems:
1. If I have some synonyms associated with SEARCHWORD in OracleThesaurus and in case if document contains these synonyms they are not counted.
2. could you explain the following results returned by query above:
search query: word1 - numberOfHits=10
search query: word2 - numberOfHits=8
search query: word1 OR word2 - numberOfHits=10
i suppose that numberOhHits=18 for a query: word1 OR word2

1.Synonyms (and generally thesaurus query extensions) cannot automatically uses in queries. You MUST expand you query using SYN function yourself. Query you write just applicable for only KEYWORD search. 
2. Ask yourself. I'm not seen your data. ;)

Problem with getting the Grouping Separator based on Current Locale

I have created a java swing application. In which I try to get the grouping separator based on System language and location(Control panel).
But it always take comma as GroupingSeparator.
I set the region and language to South Africa. Now It should take blank space as a GroupingSeparator but it takes comma.Here is my code:

From what I see here I'd say you'd get an NPE at line 4...
The point is: why do you care?
You should leave parsing and formatting to localeaware library classes like NumberFormat.

my USB device's power support is from the DC Power Supply ( HP E3631A)

Hi neilchuang,
A read timeout error is usually caused by an error on the command string sent.
The first thing I would check is if the instrument requires a termination character at the end of each message (such as linefeed). I noticed in the Spy capture that the commands do not have a termination character attached. This means that the instruments never recognized that you completed the query command, it doesn't execute the requested action and as a consequence of that it doesn't have any data to return.
One question: Is the instrument detected by MAX when you scan for instruments?. If yes then you can assume that the GPIB software and hardware are properly installed. The scan for instruments sends the *IDN? (terminated by a linefeed). You can right-cli
ck on the instrument entry in MAX and select "Communicate with instrument". Notice that at the end of the command the linefeed is included (\n).
Double check with the instrument manual if the commands sent are the right ones.
Finally, there is an instrument driver available in the idnet library: www.ni.com/idnet. Search for 3631. Since you are working in C you can use the LabWindows/CVI Plug and Play driver. Even if you decide not to use the instrument driver, you can still use it as an excellent reference on how to program with the instrument.

Ongoing problem with newsletter-eMail-actions: CF is hanging

Hi forum-members, we have an ongoing problem with
newsletter-eMail-actions.
We use CFMX 7.02 Entperprise on Win 2003 Server. (between
100.000 and 200.000 receivers).
The deep links into the shops are of the following structure:

In the highest hours we have between 80 and 200 current
users/connections
per second. We are running two HP 380, 3 GB, CF-Servers in a

From time to time CF gets unresponsive and I don't know why.
We use fusion reactor and there are no long running requests

what I have seen, when CF is hanging. There is nothing in the
logfiles which is obvious to what it could
be related what is casing it. Does anybody have any idea what

If I've understood you correctly then the ALLEXCEPT function may be what you're after and it could be applied in a similar way to the following...

When playing a video I have downloaded from iTunes I get the message "This Movie Cannot be played on this machine". The weird thing is that I downloaded the film from iTunes and while it was downloading I was watching it with my kids on my IMac. Once it had finished downloading I went with them to the living room Tao carry on watching on our apple tv. The apple TV wouldn't play it and said I needed to authorise my Pc, then the IMac gave the message above and I haven't been able to play it since. All my other downloaded films play. I am running iTunes version 10.2.2. And my iMac is Running Snow Leopard OS 10.6.7. Anyone who can shed some light on this weird situation will have my upmost thanks

I have the same problem. Been trying to find some answers, but not a lot of info about this. It seems to happen only when:
- itunes library is stored remote (NAS or external HD)
- starting a movie/show before download has finished will make it fail next time you try to start
Hope this gets fixed soon.. it's making purchasing content via itunes a hassle

Hi Guys
Updated my 2 imacs to Maverick yesterday. Schoolboy error on my part not checking if there were problems with any programmes before I did.
Quark is now a nightmare with no short term answer on the way. As a Quark user for over 20 years this is just another reason to hold your hands up and say OK Indesign you win I will have to learn how to use you and Quark will be a distant memory.
I am told there will probably be no solution to getting quak 9 running on Maverick and that you will need to update to 10 in about 2-3 weeks to get back to normal. Having spent a few bob on 2 versions of 9.5 only in Feb this year i didn't really want to upgrade yet.
So its cough up to carry on using Quark or learn Indesign.
I have lost faith in Quark as they are quick to send me e-mails asking me to upgrade to this and that version, why didn't they send one out saying do not upgrade to Maverick. Perhaps they know there loyal follwing will uograde to 10 and will generate a nice little bonus before Xmas.
Lots to do today and will now take 10 times longer to do it. Is this 2013 or 1974!!!!!
If anyone hears of a solution please post ASAP

I have a big Problem with IMessage

I have a big problem with IMessage. Yesterday I downloaded a new keyboard form the settings and option that says keyboard (Japanese) I deleted the keyboard shortly afterwards and now my IMessage will not let me type any messages. I do not know what to do.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and sign out and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
