Week view calendar = fail

I was very happy when I heard IOS5 was going to include a week view. Now I've seen how its been done I wonder why Apple bothered.
I expected to be able to see the whole week's calendar in both vertical or horizontal orientation as you can on an iPad, Blackberry, Nokia, Palm or pretty much any other smart phone. Just scale the iPad view down and I'll be happy. I don't need to be able to read all the text, I'm more interested in being able to see when I'm busy and when I'm free for the whole week. The tap for details concept used in month view would be fine.
Instead we get a 1/2 week view that works only when the phone is held sideways and needs scrolling to see more days. This is not week view at all, and is pretty hopeless IMHO.
Proper week view is the most convenient way of negotiating an appointment time with a client. e.g. I'm available Mon am, Wed pm, all day Friday and Sunday from 2pm. You should not have to scroll. Mon - Sun should be visible on 1 screen.
Please do it properly Apple!

After searching elsewhere I found an app called "week calendar" which is pretty good... maybe Apple should licence it...

SSRS Weekly View Calendar empty textboxes

Hi everyone
I've prepared a weekly view calendar report. When I execute it displays all events right but, there are empty textboxes. So, there are many unneccessary empty fields in the matrix.
You can see an overview of the report. The empty boxes are highlighted with red. Also the overview of the matrix is below.
As you can see above. There are two row groups and one column group. The column group consists of weekday. Other row groups consist of NameDisplay and Subject.

I want to remove red highlighted texboxes in the first snapshot I posted in my first question post. So, It should be arranged as one under the
other. See below.
As you can see above, the appointments have arragend under the each other. It is not like the first snaphot. You've sad me that i've pivotted values
on Day not on time. It means first snaphot is not arranged by the time.

Ok. for this you need to remove project related fields from row group.
In query behind you need to bring them in delimited format based on day value.

Week view calendar on iPhone 3G

Hello,
I think it will be a great new fonction if we can see the calendar in a "week format" (actualy we can only use list, day or month) and, of course in "landscape" mode of our iPhone.
Perhaps with the version 2.1 OS including a real bluetooth?

I just wanted to add my two cents as I came here looking for a potential solution. I changed to a new G3 assuming that the ical would be similar to the iCal within my MacPro and MacBookPro. Not having the facility to graphically see my week on the G3 is quite a disappointment and seemingly a glaring oversight on the part of the designers of the iCal w/in the G3.
I guess misery loves company though....and glad to note that I am not the only user missing this functionality. I'm with all of you....hoping that something will be done about it in the very near future.

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.

No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.

Calendar Week View

I've got a calendar, and I can view it as a week. But what I want to do, is have Calendar Web part that displays the week, as a list by day, instead of a Calendar view that displays times and days for the week.
What I want it to look like is something like this:
Activity 1       4/17/2015
Activity 2        4/20/2015
activity 3       4/20/2015
activity 4        4/21/2015
Basically everything that is viewable in the Week view but in a list. Kind of a Week at a glance.

Hi,
The following steps for your reference:
1. Create a calculated field called WeekEnd output as a date/time in Calendar.
=[Start Time]+(7-WEEKDAY([Start Time])) - that gave me a Sunday date.
2. Create a new view named WeekView and set filter as below:
[WeekEnd] is greater than or equal to [Today]+1 AND
[WeekEnd] is less than or equal to [Today]+7
Then we can see the Calendar web part display as below:
If the method not meet your requirement, we can also customize a visual web part to achieve it.

Why not a calendar weekly view?

iCal in Mac Os has weekly view, in MobileMe there is a weekly view, why in my iPhone there isn't a weekly view for my calendar??? uff.

Calendar - Week view now only 5 days - how can you see a 7 day view again?

I like using the Week view in the Calendar, since upgrading to the latest OS a few days ago I can now only see 5 days in the Week view rather than the full 7 days I previously had. Can I change the settings so I can see the full week again?

In the Calendar app swipe from the top, choose Settings > General > and set Week View to full week. That should bring back the two missing days.

You can use iCloud to share the Calendar, that way she will always be up to date on that particular section of your work calendar. If you want to use iCloud, I would recommend backing up so you have a safe copy of your data.

Wrong starting day of the week printing calendar in month view

I'm trying to print a month view calendar with the weeks starting from Monday.
In "Preferences" -> "General tab" ->"Start week on:" I've set Monday, and it is properly viewed in Calendar, but when I try to print it in the preview I see Tuesday as first day of the week.
This happens on many MacBook that I've tried, all with Yosemite and Italian regional settings.
The only way to resolve this issue is to open "System Preferences" ->"Language & Region" and change the "First day of the week:" on Sunday in all my "Preferred Languages" (both Italian and English), to have the printing preview of a calendar starting on Monday!
Is there an other way?
Is this a bug that should be submitted to Apple to get a "patch" on future releases of Mac OS X?
I know, it is a tiny issue, but annoying.

Birthdays in calendar weekly view.....

i have a bb 9630 and my question pertains to the calendar application....
if i have 2 birthdays scheduled for the same day for 2 different people....lets say.....one synced thru facebook and the other thru my blackberry contacts and i have the calendar setting on "view all" calendars...when scrolling thru the calendar on a weekly view....the only birthday that shows up is the facebook birthday......the blackberry contact birthday is nowhere to be seen.....now if i go into "view agenda" for that particular day....both birthdays are shown. both do show on a day view and month view when i select that particular day within the month view but not in a weekly calendar view.
is that just the way it is?...or am i able to set it up to have both birthdays shown on a weekly calendar view?

Thanks for your quick reply. I have mailed you a screenshot of the corruption I am talking about. The whole page template is "application default". In the "Calendar Attributes" tab in that region, I have three options in the template combo-box: calendar, calendar alternative 1, and small calendar. None of those options have any effect on the column link display corruption. In the "Region Definition" tab. the user interface template is "reports region". I have tried a number of different templates there and none affect the corruption in the column-link display either. I'm using Theme "Modern Blue 20" and the template utilization screen off Shared Components says my calendar page is using a calendar template.

How can you view iCal Calendar in week view on iTouch/iPhone

If the option is simply unavailable i suggest Apple makes an update for it?
Another question i have up is: "Why can't i see my deligates' Calanders(subscribed calanders on google calanders which is linked to iCal) on "itouch/iphone iCal"

In a way there is an week view, showing only events, but it is the continuous List option.
I understand what you are looking for, more of a grid, which would require Calendar to work in landscape more. I would like that too at times. You can make the suggestion to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/.
As for the 2nd part: I don't know that you can since they are appearing on your calendar as pulled data supplied from Google and not truly part of your own.

Show more hours in calendar week view!?

How do I show more hours in the calendar week view?
In iOS 6 I could see 10 hours, but in iOS 7 I can only see 8 hours. This might nit seem like a big deal, but it's extremely annoying!
And why can I not alter how many hrs I want to see in the preferences...?

You can turn your iPad to portrait mode but that only gets you 4 more hours. Beyond that I don't think there is a way to increase hours shown.

IPhone calendar / weekly view and yearly view

Good afternoon,
I am supporting business users on different models of iPhones. The calendar function can display days and months but not weeks and years. Is there any way that this function can be enabled or is that not part of the software? A lot of business customers would like to have a weekly view or e.g. jump a year ahead to see, if there is a day available (without clicking 12 times on "next month).

Doesn't really have a question but rather a wish for Apple. I'm using my iPhone 4S for everything but find the calendar a but unsatisfying. Please give me the option to see the calendar on a weekly view and not only daily/monthly/list.

Calendar items not appearing in weekly view

I have a number of account on my Z10 including work email. The work email items are not appearing in the weekly view, just on a daily or monthly view.
Any ideas?

Are you able to see these entries under other views within the Calendar? Do the entries display with a lock on them or not at all? Is this account set up on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server with BlackBerry Balance?
