Weekly view missing!!!

Alright… i am really happy with my iphone, BUT there is a major function missing in the calendar function. There is no weekly view! I hope the smart people at apple will soon come up with an update...

I don't know if this will ever carry over to the iPhone Calendar, but the iPad Calendar seems to have a week view mode:
"Calendar
+iPad makes it easy to stay on schedule by displaying day, week, month, or list views of your calendar. You can see an overview of a whole month or the details of a single day. iPad even shows multiple calendars at once, so you can manage work and family schedules at the same time."+

  • ICal Date Headings Missing from Day and Week Views

    Good morning,
    A few days ago, the date headings disappeared from the Day and Week views in iCal. I can see the date heading in Month view, but when I switch back, the dates are missing. All of my events are there, and correct.
    I have resolved font duplications and restarted iCal, to no avail.
    Thanks for your help.
    W

    Still no date headings when my calendar is views in the Day and Week views. All of my appointments are there. The days of the month appear in Month view. But when I change to week or day, I don't know what day I'm looking at because there are no dates. Only "2010" appears in the upper left.
    Any ideas? I couldn't be the only one this has happened to!
    Thanks, Wendy

  • Still missing a weekly view on iPhone....

    ...why is it so complicated?
    I am using my iPhone calendar also to arrange appointments and just missing a weekly view. What is the reason for this simply function not delivered?

    This is what I did:
    - (void)viewDidLoad {
    [super viewDidLoad];
    [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(updaterThread) toTarget:self withObject:nil];
    - (void)updaterThread {
    while(YES) {
    NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
    [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(updateCounters) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO];
    [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:0.1];
    [pool release];
    In updateCounters I do what I used to do in the timer.

  • Multiple All Day Events Missing in Week View

    Hello,
    I just got my first BB a Curve 8900 and am very impressed.
    The only thing I don't like is that if I have more than one all day event on a particular day, in Week View I can't see them.
    (I've used a variety of other phones/PDAs over the years and this is not normally an issue)
    I've googled this and haven't found much relating to it, other than people not seeing all day events on the home screen or something.
    Is this a BB 'feature'? Is there a work around?
    I'd like to be able to see my week ahead at a glance and don't seem to be able to.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello RobertBL,
    I have the same problem. In week view i only see 1 event on days with multiple day events. I use firmware version 4.6.1.152 (platform 4.2.0.91). My Curve 8900 is T-Mobile branded (Netherlands). Until now i haven't found a work around. In other calendars (pocket informant and Agendus) i don't have this problem in weekview, so it must be a BB firmware bug.

  • Times missing in left column in week view

    I am using iCal 2.0.3 and the hour times to not show in the left column in week view. Noon is present, but no others. There have been a few occasions that times have shown up, but then the next time they are gone. I set up a new user and went into iCal and the dates show. All my prefs are the same in my account and the "new user".
    I am suspecting that there is corrupted prefs file of some sort, but I am reluctant to just delete files without knowing which one. Since I installed 10.4 a few months ago, I have found a lot of settings changed that upgrades should have kept intact in preferences.
    Any suggestions?

  • Calendar - Week view now only 5 days - how can you see a 7 day view again?

    I like using the Week view in the Calendar, since upgrading to the latest OS a few days ago I can now only see 5 days in the Week view rather than the full 7 days I previously had.  Can I change the settings so I can see the full week again?
    Thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    In the Calendar app swipe from the top, choose Settings > General > and set Week View to full week. That should bring back the two missing days.

  • Determining Hours Displayed in Day and Week View

    Hi there,
    Even though I have determined the Day hours to be, for example, 7am to 6pm in iCal Preferences, and I have determined the number of hours to be shown on the screen to be, for example, 11 hours, I still have to scroll down to fit my Day's hours in the view. In addition, the non-day hours (i.e. midnight to 7am, 6pm to midnight) are still being shown.
    Is there any way of removing the non-day hours, and in effect the scrollbar so that on opening iCal, the correct hours as I have determined them are displayed?
    Why would I want to open my Day or Week view and have at the top (what I would expect to be the first thing of my "Day") to in fact be Midnight (and go back to sleep)?
    Am I missing something or does this not work the way I think it should, or thought it did?

  • Week view and task list solutions? Solved: a way to sync notes to Mac.

    I've been using a Palm Tungsten T5 for years and routinely rely on the Palm's Calendar week view feature and task list. The week view is indispensable to see where I can fit in appointments. Are there any ways to achieve the same functionalities on the iPhone, whether using built-in iPhone apps or third party apps? The task list would have to include item priorities, due dates, alarms, and ideally repeating events.
    I have found a way to sync notes from the iPhone to my Mac using MarkSpace's The Missing Sync for iPhone; notes are synced to the MarkSpace "notebook" application, where you can edit the notes (and copy and paste) and sync them back to the iPhone. This doesn't sync notes with any Apple applications, though.
    If I could solve the week view and task list omissions, I could see my way to replace my Palm with an iPhone. (And when ePocrates releases a full suite for the iPhone, I'll be all set.) But in the absence of these, I'll have to keep using a Palm.

    I'm in the same boat, unfortunately.
    As a life long Palm-User the PIM-functionalities of iCal can only be described as "rudimentary". It is nowhere near DateBk6 for example. And I would be just fine if it would come close to say 50% of it's functionality. Right now it's at about 25%.
    - no repeating tasks?
    - no tasks+calendar in one view?
    - no week view?
    - no icons for event/task categories?
    Come on Apple, such a great device with the amazing screen resolution, horizontal view etc. and you are not taking opportunity of it and get beat by 10 year old PDA's?

  • Weird event display problem in week view

    Hi. I'm getting a weird display problem in week view. First time this has ever happened.
    Some events appear to be missing, but when i double click on where I know the event is supposed to be, a new event is created (as excepted), and the missing events suddenly appear. When i move forward or back by a week, and then return to the week in question, the missing events are gone again. But, I can see the missing events in day view or month view.
    Any ideas?

    Dean,
    Next, try reinstalling the Mac OS X v10.6.2 Update (Combo).
    If that is unsuccessful:
    1. Use iCal>Export...>for each one of your individual calendars.
    2. Delete all but one of your calendars.
    3. Create a calendar and name it "Test."
    4. Delete the calendar which remained after step #2.
    5. Quit iCal.
    6. Remove the iCal plist, and drag the iCal plist file to your Desktop.
    7. Log out/in or restart.
    8. Restart iCal and use iCal>File>Import...for each one of the calendars that you exported in step #1.
    9. Delete the "Test" calendar, and any "Home/Work" calendar which was automatically created when you opened iCal in step #8.
    ;~)

  • Please add week view to Calendar!  Do you agree?

    Not sure why this was left out, but week view is an important component to my iCal usage, yet it was left off the iPhone Calendar. Didn't find any reasons posted here or elsewhere...
    I'm using the app SaiSuke Free ($0.00), which shifts to the week view when in landscape mode, but it sure would be nice to have that integrated into the Apple Calendar app instead. I didn't know where else to post this, but would like Apple to hear about it.
    Do you agree?
    Fred

    Thanks, jimHDk and paulcb for the input. I've posted some feedback.
    Would still like to hear how others feel on this, though. I've thought I was going crazy in missing that feature...

  • How to highlight days in Calendar Week view

    I miss the old system of highlighting the current day's column (in "Week View"). It was eye-catching. The red dot doesn't do it for me.
    Is there any way to get that feature back?
    P.S. - I wish Jon Ive would go back to designing hardware. There is such a thing as "over minimization".

  • Time labels in Week View

    I just upgraded to Leopard and have a question about the iCal display in Week View. In prior iCal versions, there was a left-hand column showing the time represented by each horizontal line (e.g., 8 AM, 9 AM, etc.). Now, I only see "Noon"; the other lines have no label. I find it hard to orient, where in the prior versions, it was easy to see where times were and where to place a new scheduling item. I have not been able to find a "Preferences" option to restore this display. Am I missing a setting, or is this feature gone in iCal 3?

    Margaret,
    I believe that your problem stems from user settings that you can set up/change in International Preferences.
    Quit iCal, Open System Preferences...>International>Formats>
    Choose Customize...>Dates/Times>Show> and change each entry (Short/Medium/Long/Full) to match your desires/requrements.
    Restart iCal and check for your changes.
    Good Luck.

  • Category Search, Week View, To Do's

    For my needs, the iPhone software must have: 1) a week-view in the calender (month view doesn't give enough information, day view doesn't let me scan ahead).
    2) A contact search function that will look for addresses and comments as well as just names (say I need to find a favorite restaurant in LA having forgotten the name).
    3) To do's.
    These three are available in all decent organizer software (eg. Palm). Are they coming to the iPhone, either from Apple or 3rd parties????

    Tommm, I agree. I have switched from Palm Treo 680 to iPhone half a year ago and since then I am asking the exact same questions.
    Even Phil Schiller said very clearly in his WWDC 2008 appearance that *week view* was his favorite view!
    As for the missing task app, I have listed a few alternatives here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1560480&tstart=0
    All of them require Software 2.0 and the AppStore (except for MobileToDoList ).
    Meanwhile, it's certainly a good idea to send a feedback to Apple.

  • Calender: week view + todo?

    Hi!
    1) The iPhone calendar does not have a week view.
    Can anyone recommend a program from the app store that has one?
    I already researched a lot but i did not find anything suitable.
    I have been using Windows Mobile so far - there was a week view integrated.
    I believe there must be others who miss this function ...
    2) The iPhone supports calendar, contacts, mails and notes but NO todo's which is a major drawback for me.
    Is there a syncable app that provides this function? (for MS Outlook)
    Thanks for your feedback!
    Hannes

    You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • Clicking on Year view to get Week view in iCal

    In the  Lion version, is there any way I can double click a date and get to the 'week view' rather than the 'day view'?

    CaptainStarwars,
    Try using (⌘+C) and then (⌘+V). That action retains the event in the original, while also placing a duplicate in the new location.
    If you want to remove the event from the original time, use (⌘+X), then (⌘+V) in the new time frame.
