Weight of iMac 27" without stand?

Thinking of wall mounting the iMac 27" and just wanted to know the weight of it so I can get the correct bracket/mount for its weight, anyone know or seen the spec for this?

You will need the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for 24-inch/27-inch iMac and 24-inch LED Cinema Display. Any VESA MIS-D, 100, C type mounting system (100 mm × 100 mm hole pattern) should work with it, since they are rated for up to almost exactly the full weight of the 27" iMac with its normal mounting stand attached (30.5 pounds).

  • 24" iMac dimensions without stand (Specifically depth)

Can anyone give the dimensions of a 24" iMac without the stand?
I'm interested specifically in the depth with the VESA mount attached and how much space would be needed in addition to this to mount on the wall if there wouldn't be enough room to attach the VESA plate directly to the wall.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

The Apple store shows the depth of the 24" iMac as 1.24". The stand depth shows 8.1" in case you need that as well. I don't have a 24" so I can't really comment further. Hope that helps.

Aha OK then, that should work fine.
The only snag might be, if your missing the original thermal sensor from the original 24" Hard Drive.
Then again, you should be able to use the one that came from the original 17" Hard Drive.

  • Firefox 4 unable to use on imac G5 ( without intel chips ), get messageYou can't open the application bcz it is not supported on this architecture.

My iMac G5 without intel chips, Mac OS X 10.5.8.
using Firefox 364 no problem at all.
But unable to install Firefox 4 on it, prompt "You can't open the application because it is not supported on this architecture"

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
There is a third-party version of Firefox 4 that works on PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • Can I swap the power supply on my iMac G5 without any unwanted side effects?

    Hi All,
I'm new and have searched related posts, but have not found an answer to this exact question.
I have a first generation US version iMac G5. The label says that the power supply is 100-120V. Can I swap the power supply using an internationally rated power supply (100-240V) from a later version iMac G5 without any unwanted side effects? Such as the iMac G5 ALS power supply?
I live China and would prefer not to rely on an external power suppressor or convertor. I would prefer to plug and go.
    Thanks,
    SGP

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
New Macs do not come with DVDs to reinstall Mac OS X. Instead, you have got OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
If you have forgotten your user account password, you can still reset it through OS X Recovery by following these steps > http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4101 You may need to do some work with the keychain after resetting your password > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1631?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

    Nope!
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number. Here's a list of links to all of those - http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html  Another resource:  International Support Phone #s.

  • IMac 27" screen size without Stand

Hi there, well I just wanna know the actual size without the stand, the size that appears on the site are with the stand, and I need to know the size without it since I´m going to place the iMac in a Vesa Mount, it would be great if someone can provide the Height and depth (the Width will be exactly the same)
    Thanx in advance

I was wondering the same thing and went to the tech specs page. The graphic at the top showing an iMac from the back has dimensions indicating that the listed height -- 20.4 inches (51.7 cm)-- does NOT include the stand. Odd that there seems to be no measurement of overall height (including stand).
My problem was slightly different. I was trying to figure out if the 27" iMac (and stand) would fit into the cubbyhole above my work desk. I measured the wife's 24" iMac stand and it added 6 cm to the total height. I added that to the 51.7 cm of the 27" iMac and found that the iMac would fit by lowering a shelf, but then I wouldn't be able to close the keyboard drawer -- logitech mouse would catch the bottom of the shelf. But if I removed the stand and mounted the 27" iMac on a Vesa Mount, everything would fit!

  • IMac dimensions without foot?

Can anyone please post the measurements of the G5 iMac main unit, without the foot stand?
Planning to remove the foot for travel, so I need to know if it will fit in my carry-on.
17" and 20" please, if you can. (I know the new ones are a little thinner, but the old measurements will be good enough for me to work with.)
    Thanks a lot!

The Apple store shows the depth of the 24" iMac as 1.24". The stand depth shows 8.1" in case you need that as well. I don't have a 24" so I can't really comment further. Hope that helps.

  • How do i delete the old users account on my second hand imac g5 without the origonal disc

im new to imacs and not sure how to delete the old users account without the origonal disc

First of all, you need to make sure your current user account (the one you intend to keep) is an administrator account (not standard).
Go to System Preferences Accounts pane.  Click the lock, if it's locked, and enter your authorization, to unlock.
In the sidebar, you will see the list of user accounts.  To delete a user account, select it on the list and click the minus sign.

  • My IMac has stopped seeing the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes on saying it is looking to pair with the IMac but without success. I am left with the IMac switched on and I am unable to enter a password.

I have been using my IMac without a problem when I left it and went back to enter the password the IMac did not see the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes up on the keyboard and then starts to flash indicating it is looking for the IMac but nothing happens. I have tried another set of new batteries with the same result. Is there any known problems in this area. The IMac is 5 months old.
    Thank you for any help

What operating system does your iMac have? (please always post your operating system to prevent confustion).
If it's pre-Lion you will have to set Mail up manually:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger

  • What is the best way to backup 20 Imac's without buying 20 time machines?

I would like to use the features of time machine.
I have 20 Imacs and macbook pros on a network. Mixed OS 10.6 and .7 and .8's.
Is there a solution to be able to backup all the Mac's without having to have 20 timemachines?
Yes 90% of all files are stored on a server.
It's mainly when a HDD goes splat that a Time machine backup comes in handy. (reinstalling all the software etc).

The problem I have is that the staff work on very large graphic files before they save them on the main servers.
Space is not the issue. I was thinking of using a NAS (Iomega) 9 TB to act as a time machine, but i beleive that is fine for 1 mac but I would like all 20 odd to backup daily (incremental).
Not too sure if there is third party software out there that can do similar.

  • 24" display screen height (WITHOUT stand)??

Before I go spending money, I need to know this exact critical dimension in order to mount the display to the wall between my desk and a shelf!

CA-Tim94595 - THANK YOU so much. You have no idea how hard it is to find this information on the web or tech support without physically going to the store myself and making a measurement. Apple really needs to include these dimensions in their tech specs if they have an option of wall mounting.
No, I don't have any crazy mounting ideas and want to mount it the exact way you described and thank you for your thorough description on installation.
The reason why I asked is because I have limited wall space between my desk and an upper shelf that restricts me from even using the 24" display WITH the stand. Wall mounting is actually my best option because it will save a whole bunch of room on my desk and can be closer to the wall.
Once again thanks and I look forward to tricking out my work space for my new mac pro!

  • Is is possible to use the iMac g3 without a mouse

Have a iMac g3 and wanted to know if I can access anything without a mouse, until I can find an original one.
    Thank you

Or you can use the up and down and sideways arrows to navigate through windows.  If you go to System Preferences>Keyboard>keyboard shortcuts, you'll find a long list of actions you can perform without a mouse.

  • 27" iMac: distance between stand base and screen glass?

I searched high and low, but can't find this info anywhere..
On photos of new 27" iMacs, it looks like the front bottom aluminum part of the screen (with Apple logo on it), became narrower comparing to 24" iMacs. Meaning that screen itself is probably positioned lower than on 24" iMacs (which would be terrific)
I wonder if any of 27" iMac owners could be so kind to put their display in vertical 90 degree position and measure the distance between stand base (the top of the table) and the screen glass? I have attached the picture of the measurement I need.

    Thanks in advance!

I think the answer is 16.3cm. It's the same distance as on the new 21.5" iMacs. I already started a topic myself, asking the same question:
